Costa Cruises is an Italian-based cruise line with origins that impressively date back to the 19th century.

The company has since been bought out by Carnival yet continues to remain a major cruise line.

Costa has multiple options to pick from its fleet.

Cunard Line is a British and American venture that is based out of Southampton, England.

It’s operated under Carnival UK and owned by Carnival Corporation, which owns a substantial amount of major cruise lines.

Cunard features three hips in Bermuda and also provides transatlantic journeys either round-trip or one-line.

Proof of Eligibility Required

Proper identification for the United States military is a DD214 Form, WD AGO (War Department Adjutant General Form), or NAVPERS (Naval Personnel Discharge Form). 

For Canadians, the NDI75 Record of Service Identification Card or CF75 certificate of discharge are used.

The amount of onboard free spending credit you will receive depends on the length of stay:

• $50 = 6 days or less
• $100 = 7-13 days on a cruise
• $250 = 14 days or longer

The Princess Cruises military discount can also get combined with other special offers from the cruise line.

However, you cannot use it on casino credit or charges.

In order to receive the free onboard spending credit, you need to download and complete the Military Benefit Application Form .

You must submit the completed form and proof of military status in plenty of time.

Princess Cruises will not accept any application that is received less than 14 days from the date of departure.

According to Jean Kim, a Navy wife and senior product manager at Military.com, even if you hear a company is offering military discounts at the national level, it’s always smart to call ahead to make sure the location near you is offering the discount and confirm the details as they may vary by location. And though all these 60+ discounts were correct at press time, they do change frequently, so hop online to verify or give the business a call before you shop. Finally, even if you don’t see a particular business listed, you can ask before you buy if they offer discounts to military personnel and families. You may wind up saving a ton! 

How Do I Get A Military Discount?

Each store has its own policies, but typically, bigger retailers require you to show proof to verify your military status by showing your military ID at the time of purchase or by verifying your status with partners such as ID.me, SheerID and Veterans Advantage.

The annual Golden Corral Military Appreciation Night is yearly on Veterans Day. If you are a veteran, retired, or currently serving in the National Guard or Reserves, you are invited to participate in Golden Corral’s Military Appreciation dinner and receive a free “thank you” meal.

Hard Rock Cafe

In the past, Hard Rock Cafe has celebrated its military patrons in different ways, like the cafe’s military appreciation nights (held on different dates depending on which location you’re visiting), which provide savings on food, nonalcoholic beverages and retail purchases. It offers military discounts for Disneyland and military discounts for Walt Disney World . Check out Shades of Green , an Armed Forces Recreation Center that is a partner of Walt Disney World and operated by the U.S. Army. It offers tax-free accommodations for all branches of the military and their guests just minutes from the Magic Kingdom. Read the eligibility fine print for Shades of Green to see if you qualify.

Great Wolf Lodge

With its Howling Heroes Discount , members of the armed forces (as well as law enforcement and fire and EMS workers) get up to 25% off the best available rates. Must present valid ID at check-in, and some exemptions apply.

Car rental discounts are offered to the military on leisure/non-work trips and retired military . There are also special rates for on-duty military trips . A military or government-issued ID is required at the time of pickup.

With a valid active-duty U.S. Armed Forces ID, active-duty personnel, along with their spouses and dependents, are eligible to receive a 10% military discount on the lowest available rail fare for most Amtrak trains.

Avis Car Rental

Members of the military, veterans, active-duty military, National Guard and Reservists and their immediate family members can enroll in the Avis WeSalute+ program and save up to 35% on “Pay Now” rates.

Budget Rent-a-Car

With Veterans Advantage, you can receive up to 35% off car rental rates.

Military members get a 5% discount on base car rental rates at participating locations.

General Motors (GM)

Silent Professionals

Reintegrating into the workforce can be a challenge, but Silent Professionals is giving away free access to their specialized job board helping veterans find work using the skills they gained in military service. To access this valuable service, veterans just need to go to Silent Professionals and indicate they’re a veteran during the registration process.

United Services Automobile Association (USAA)

USAA offers competitive rates on banking, insurance and investment services for U.S. military members and families. They offer other benefits like financial advice and discounts on car rentals and other travel purchases and home security monitoring.

Disney continues to honor active-duty and retired members of the U.S. military with special offers on resort stays and theme park admissions at  Walt Disney World ® Resort.

Members of the U.S. military can enjoy great rates at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels for stays most nights January 1, 2022 through December 16, 2022 when they book by December 16, 2022, as well as special Disney Military Salute Tickets.

Admittance to Yacht StarShip is at the discretion of management who reserves the right to refuse service to patrons who arrive in attire not fitting our dress code, regardless of the reservation status.

For holidays and special events, no refunds or store credit will be given to guests who arrive in attire that does not fit our dress code.
