Probably the nicest Park in Red Bay. Large concrete pads and central to all the outside vendors we all love to see for our RV repairs and upgrades. The park is busy all day while mobile vendors are vi...

If driving East from Tupelo MS, take 25 north to 76 to 23. Our Garmin RV GPS didnt route us this way. Roads are much nicer and more forgiving then taking 23 out of Tremont.

“Beautiful campground ”

Red Bay Acres is the nicest campground in the area. A large lake in the middle of the campground. Large back-in concrete sites. We camped at Red Bay Acres RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The campground has a nice restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Very friendly staff. They do have a minimum menu.

Only stayed here one night but would love to have stayed longer. It's a beautiful clean RV park with on-site food. A dog park and a beautiful fishing pond with walking path over the lake. We camped at Red Bay Acres RV Resort in a Motorhome.

New Cape Coral Yacht Club designs: Most on council like a coastal, Key West vibe

Given three different design options for the new Yacht Club Community Center , most of the Cape Coral City Council is leaning toward a coastal, Key West-flavor architecture.

At a committee of the whole meeting on Wednesday, the city sought direction from the council on a design direction for the outside of the community building.

"It's a concept, just like we do with anything else, and as we are designing, things may come up that we want to shift and be nimble (on)," said Cape Coral City Manager Michael Ilczyszyn.

James Pankonin with Kimley Horn, a consulting firm focusing on public and private developments, presented the information about the look of the community building.

Cape Coral's Yacht Club Community Park, which includes a yacht basin, tennis courts, a swimming pool, a ballroom, and a beach, has been a popular attraction and staple for the city since the 1960s but is set to undergo major renovations after Hurricane Ian delayed the original plans .

The current plans include a new two-story community center to replace the ballroom, removing the tennis courts, rearranging the area to accommodate a four-story parking garage, a new restaurant, and a new resort-style pool.

The city is also preparing for the demolition of the Yacht Club and its facilities in April as it awaits permits.

No estimates could be provided for the price of the new building.

"It will really come into how much of certain materials are needed and construction methods," Ilczyszyn said.

The city will have that information once they have 30% of the construction design.

Two public meetings for the designs are planned for April 2 and May 7.

After getting public input, the city will vote to amend its contract with Kimley Horn to approve all these changes.

The plan is to have these changes approved or introduced before the summer hiatus.

New Designs for the Yacht Club building

John Bryant with Sweet Sparkman Architecture and Interiors, a Sarasota-based design firm, said the goal with the new designs was to maintain the experience of the original Yacht Club.

The majority of the council preferred option one.

Design one:

Bryant described the first option as "coastal vernacular" and similar to the park buildings at Lake Kennedy and Yellow Fever Creek.

"So it's sort of informed by the current architectural work in 2024," Bryant said. "Kinda Key West."

Councilmember Dan Sheppard and Mayor John Gunter preferred option one.

Gunter said the design was the most pleasing for him.

Councilmember Keith Long liked option one and said he liked the Key West aesthetic.

Councilmember Tom Hayden liked option one.

Design two:

Option two is more informed by the current Yacht Club and would have a stone base and mid-century feel to it, according to Bryant.

"There's certainly opportunity to kind of further develop this option to have even more of the existing Yacht Club feel, but a different vibe, feel than option one," Bryant said.

He also said option two might be more expressive the closer they try to recreate the aesthetic of the old ballroom building.

Councilmember Jessica Cosden liked design two as it incorporated design elements of the old building though she lamented how similar it looked to the first design.

"I wish we could have done more, but I know it's hard with a two-story building, to make it look the same as a very unique one-story building.

Councilmember Bill Steinke said two would be his choice as well, but was wary of additional maintenance of natural wood products used in the design.

"As long as we can bring that aesthetic and keep the maintenance down, number two would be my choice," Steinke said.

Councilmember Robert Welsh said he could go either way, but he liked the look of two.

Design three:

This would be more contemporary and modern.

"Even with a more contemporary language, you can still have warmth, incorporating some wood elements and stone elements," Bryant said.

None of the council members expressed any favorability for the third design.

Inside the new community center

The Community Center will have an additional 10,000 square feet for a total of 47,000 square feet, a history room to remember the first ballroom building on the first floor, and more rooms for civic and community use on the first floor.

Additionally, the new ballroom has shifted slightly as the balcony area on the second floor has been expanded to wrap around the top of the building.

We cater to all types of RVs from class A diesel pushers to pop-up and teardrop campers. We do not offer cabin or primitive camping at this time. We are pet friendly with many planned activites and areas for play and fun. There are also community fire pits where everyone can enjoy a good s'more.

We arrived on 3/1 to the small town of Red Bay Alabama home to @tiffinmotorhomes. We were only planning to stay a few weeks after picking up Mr. Big our new 2020 45OPP Allegro Bus to do our punch list and then the country changed! We are also so happy that we took the chance and stayed at Red Bay Acres because not only is the park amazing the staff are beyond fabulous and they all made us feel like family! Well thought out campground. We all have a view of the fishing pond. The road is paved and nice and wide, nice dog park, good restaurant, nice General store. Lots of people walk around the loop . I stop at the porch at the store and sit in a rocker. So relaxing. Sites are concrete, include our own garbage can, picnic table, and patio. Landscaping is well on its way to being beautiful.

I spent 10 days in Red Bay Acres RV Resort and I just loved everything about it. The staff in the store, restaurant, and maintenance dept. were just exceptional. They became friends. The lake is very nice and the piers and bridges are fun to be on and contemplate. I would highly recommend this park. Oh and just if you were a green acres fan there is an old fashion telephone high up on a pole for your FREE Phone Calls. Is that called a cell tower? Just wondering. Thanks to everyone there, including many friends in the park that I met. Bentley (the dog) and I really enjoyed ourselves.

Wow! My first thought about Red Bay Acres. These people are friendly, caring and very accommodating. I’ve heard of southern hospitality, but I got a good taste+of it here. I have some very frustrating food allergies. One being soy. After hearing of my allergy which limited what I could eat at their restaurant, they switched from soy oil to canola oil. Now that’s what I call accommodating guests. Out of 5 stars I give them 10.

Tiffin Owner Story: Gary & LouAnn Sanoff’s Journey To Owning A Tiffin

Gary and LouAnn Sanoff were no strangers to RVs when they landed on their first Tiffin. They started out renting RVs to be able to travel with their pets about 15 years ago and fell in love with the lifestyle. The couple has owned a few different brands over the years, but breakdown after breakdown started to wear them out. In 2017, they had a major engine issue that just about sent them over the edge – they were ready to throw in the RV towel and call it quits. The Sanoffs had heard a lot about Tiffin Motorhomes from people they’d met in the RV community. Owners consistently told them how great the product and customer service is. So while they were stranded near Malibu, California, after the great engine breakdown of 2017, they decided to hop online and find a Tiffin to check out at a dealership nearby. And just like that, their love of RVing was rekindled. They bought a 2017 Tiffin Allegro Bus 37 AP off the lot, made a deal with the dealership to handle their old RV, and never looked back. Becoming a Full-timer After two years of adventures in their trusty Allegro Bus with their two poodles, Harper and Simon, in tow, LouAnn and Gary decided to attend a Tiffin rally. Right around the same time, they were considering selling their home in Las Vegas to RV full time. The rallies typically showcase new coach models, and at this particular one, there was a brand new Allegro Bus 2020 45 OPP . LouAnn was impressed with all the extra space, the added half bath, and the bigger closet. They loved their 2017 Allegro Bus, but this coach felt like it could really be their full-time home on wheels. And so, the wheels in their heads started turning… As residents of Nevada, the price tag of purchasing a new RV was going to be steeper than in other states. Registering RV plates would cost upwards of $8,000, and sales tax would be around $30,000. Fortunately, after years of talking to other owners and trading stories and advice, they were acquainted with a service that helps you set up a mailing address and “residency” as a full-timer in an RV-friendly state – in their case, South Dakota. As new residents of South Dakota, they were free to buy their dream coach and dive into full-time RV life. They named their new Allegro 2020 45 OPP, Mr. Big, after a larger than life character on one of LouAnn’s favorite shows.

A Visit To The Tiffin Motorhomes Service Center As veteran RV owners, the Sanoffs knew that every RV, even a brand new Tiffin, needs a good wellness check before you can comfortably hit the road full time. They refer to it as their “punch list.” The couple packed up from Mississippi, where they purchased their coach, and started heading down to Red Bay, Alabama, in late February to visit the Tiffin Motorhomes Service Center for the very first time. When Mr. Big was called in for service, the Sanoffs went through their punch list items one by one. Their technician, Steve Brooks, went through everything they needed like a true pro. “First you visit the mechanics bay, then you go to the tile bay, then the regular service bay, then the paint bay, and then the cabinet bay. Steve in bay 1 was first class. The service really sells Tiffin. They take care of everything.” Exploring Red Bay During a Pandemic Before their service number was called, LouAnn and Gary had some time to kill. They decided to set up camp at Red Bay Acres, and thanks to a little push from COVID-19, they now hold the title of the longest stay at the park ever. “Thankfully they have the Yacht Club restaurant there on-site, and the food is fabulous,” LouAnn said. “The rest of our meals, we cooked in the RV.”

Since the pandemic had temporarily closed down local shops and restaurants in Red Bay , most of their adventuring was sightseeing. They drove over to Florence, Alabama, one day, explored the beautiful Mississippi countryside another, and took picnics to the few available state park picnic tables in the region. They also drove down beautiful Natchez Trace and took in all the historical sights and even popped over to Helen Keller’s house in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Sadly, they couldn’t take the tour, but the view from outside was worth the trip. “Even when there isn’t a pandemic going on, we never stay anywhere for less than two weeks,” Gary said. “Wherever we go, we like to get a feel for the culture and live like the locals.” Now that the Sanoffs have gotten a chance to live like the locals in Red Bay and their punch list is all taken care of, they’re ready to set sail on their next big adventure as full-time RVers. The couple is headed to visit a friend who owns a farm in Wisconsin for a couple of weeks, and then they’ll be working their way over to their favorite part of the country – the Oregon coastline – where, according to Gary, it never gets above 70 degrees and there are absolutely no mosquitos. LouAnn and Gary plan to visit every state in the U.S. in their brand new Allegro Bus. We sure hope they’ll send us a postcard.
