Bride and Groom Dancing

Katie & Mark | Pontchartrain Yacht Club | Mandeville, LA

Katie & Mark – July 6, 2013 Wedding Photography Ceremony & Reception: Pontchartrain Yacht Club, Mandeville, LA

The weather was a little unpredictable for Katie & Mark’s wedding at the Yacht Club in Mandeville, but it turned out well. Mark changed into his Navy uniform for some fun photo after the ceremony. And the sparklers at the end of the evening capped off a superb wedding night. We had taken the engagement portraits a few weeks before by the lake, and the bridal portraits just the week before.

Pontchartrain Yacht Club

Yacht Club

Pontchartrain Yacht Club  was founded in 1967 during a gathering of interested yachtsmen. The Club was also accepted as a member of the United States Sailing Association in that same year. Since 1968, Pontchartrain Yacht Club has been a member of the Gulf Yachting Association, which incorporates 33 yacht clubs from Houston, TX to St. Petersburg, FL.

Though the location of Mandeville's first Yacht Club is unknown, the second occupied 1635 Lakeshore Drive during the years of 1893-1903.

In 2005, Hurricanes Katrina and Rita destroyed the club house and devastated much of the surrounding area. Pontchartrain Yacht Club re-opened using temporary quarters and began the rebuilding process. The new, elevated clubhouse was open for business in the early summer of 2007.

About the LPRC

The Lake Pontchartrain Racing Circuit was established in 1985 by the four Gulf Yachting Association affiliated clubs: New Orleans Yacht Club, Southern Yacht Club, Pontchartrain Yacht Club, and Tammany Yacht Club. The event was, and continues to be, a milestone of cooperation between these organizations. The intention was to hold a series of races on Lake Pontchartrain to determine an area champion and establish a regatta that would eventually grow to an event of national prominence.

Best Nightlife in Moscow

Local recommendations from our my guide moscow team.

They say ‘Moscow never sleeps’. Having seen Moscow’s night scene only once, you are sure this saying is absolutely rightful. Best night clubs with world-known DJs tune up the capital’s audience every night; lounge bars with high-quality hookah and professional staff create relaxed and cozy atmosphere all night long; and, of course, clubs for men, where stunning and gorgeous ladies take you away from routine and busy life of metropolis.   Exciting, modern, crazy...it's Moscow.
