FIREBIRD for sale

FIREBIRD, named after the Firebird Opera by Stravinsky, was built as a classic world cruising yacht with exceptional Palmer Johnson pedigree. At the time of her launch in 1966, FIREBIRD became the largest aluminum sailing yacht in the world. She boasts an impressive record of three circumnavigations, including voyages to the Antarctic and Arctic regions. FIREBIRD offers easy handling with roller furling sails and a deep keel for stability. In 2007, her mast was removed and inspected, and a full service of components and furlers was performed.

This Palmer Johnson 84 Ketch started her refit program in 2015 that continues for five years. This over $1 million refit included an incredible full teak interior refresh that revolutionized the yacht. The craftsmanship demonstrated on her interior is a work of art that isn’t seen on yachts in this day and age. FIREBIRD is a beautiful example of tradition combined with a modern elegance that will amaze guests as they take the time to admire the intricate detailing.

Stepping down from the center cockpit is the pilothouse and navigation table in a protected setting. Opening portholes and a semi-circular sofa make this a dry, safe haven should you find yourself in inclement conditions. Stepping down further, you will enter the stunning main salon and galley. The open-concept design allows guests to move about easily and enjoy conversation from any area of the salon. The teak detailing is conspicuous, adorning every corner of the interior. There are two seating areas, with the portside area convertible to a daybed/sea berth. Forward of the salon is a guest cabin, and further forward is crew accommodations.

FIREBIRD’s versatile guest accommodation layout allows for up to nine total guests when the salon daybed is used. The master suite features a queen-size bed and is accessed via a private staircase. The master suite opens to the aft leisure cockpit, which acts as a private space for guests to enjoy. The port guest stateroom contains two single bunks and plenty of storage space. Forward is the crew accommodations, which feature three berths, a double and two singles. En-suite bathrooms accompany each cabin, ensuring guests maintain privacy during their time onboard.

The Palmer Johnson’s exterior design is purposeful, classic and elegant. She showcases a gently rising sheerline, high bow and canoe stern typical of a real ocean-going yacht. FIREBIRD will turn heads at any marina, welcoming onlookers to admire her expertly constructed exterior. The yacht’s pure and straightforward decks ensure an uncluttered atmosphere. Her center cockpit is deep and well-protected and is a safe space to be in while underway. The leisure cockpit aft is a lovely area with wrap-around seating that follows the shape of the canoe stern. Guests can enjoy the alfresco lifestyle and watch the passing scenery of the cruising grounds. The extended hardtop from the pilothouse and the awning over the aft leisure cockpit offer shade when underway. Launched in 2000, the 128’ (39.01m) custom Palmer Johnson tri-deck motor yacht APHRODITE is a beauty to behold. With Palmer Johnson pedigree and excellent craftsmanship, this luxury yacht is perfect for owners with a taste for old Florida charm and opulent relaxation. She cruises at 14 knots, reaching a maximum speed of 18 knots. Having received her most recent refit in 2021, APHRODITE is ready to cruise and explore once again.

Classically styled by Palmer Johnson, APHRODITE’s interior is traditional with warm cherry wood joinery. The full-beam main salon is uniquely massive for this yacht’s length class, welcoming eight guests aboard. Entering from the aft deck, guests will enjoy an inordinate amount of space with gorgeous natural lighting, a full-service bar, commodious seating and a formal dining salon. Truly the perfect place to congregate, the salon also features a large retractable TV, soft royal blue carpets and sliding glass doors for the perfect ocean breeze. Her galley is a rarity. Saturated in gorgeous wood paneling, fully stocked and cozy in the sunlight, it also spotlights a beautiful country kitchen breakfast nook, abundant counter space and fully updated appliances. A separate, fully appointed office provides a quiet, private room for guests to work if needed.

Located just aft of the pilothouse, the skylounge is equal in grandeur, offering a giant plush L-shaped sofa, an 80” television, a large bar with ocean views and a dedicated exercise area. Guests can enjoy the alfresco lifestyle through the sleek glass door from the massive U-shaped settee with two different sets of varnished teak tables and a built-in barbecue. Aboard her sundeck, APHRODITE features a gigantic Jacuzzi, two large sunpads and capacious chaise lounges with retractable umbrellas. Her aft deck champions alfresco dining with a large, varnished table offering seating for up to 10 people.

APHRODITE provides four sumptuous staterooms for overnight stays, each with its own unique charm. The spacious master suite highlights a centerline king-size bed with gorgeous ambient lighting. In addition to soft carpets and an ocean-facing vanity, the room also has his-and-hers en-suite heads, as well as matching walk-in closets. The beautiful VIP stateroom, located on the accommodations deck, features a queen-size centerline berth with its own en-suite bathroom and ample storage space. The additional guest cabins include a double and two twins with a Pullman, each with its own en-suite head. APHRODITE has space for up to five crewmembers in the forward part of the boat, given the extra crew stateroom in her lazarette area.

With her Pedigree build, large swim platform capable of storing two Jet Skis and 12’ (3.7m) Novurania Tender, APHRODITE is ready for your motor yacht adventure at sea.

Accommodations / Walkthrough

APHRODITE features a four stateroom layout with full beam master, private VIP stateroom located forward and two generous guest staterooms. The interior features elegant, warm cherry wood interior complimented by elegant and comfortable interior appointments.

The full beam main salon is absolutely massive for a yacht of this length and is a perfect platform for entertaining guests or just lounging with friends. Entering from the aft deck there is a large bar on the starboard side. There are two large sofas on the port side with coffee tables and a formal dining area occupying the forward area of the salon.

The galley is located on the main deck, forward of the main foyer. The space occupies the full beam, with lots of windows in a country kitchen style. Features include abundant counterspace, updated appliances and a large, built-in dinette.

Main Deck Office

The accommodations deck is accessed via a stairwell from the main foyer and features three of the four guest staterooms. The full beam master cabin is furthest aft.

The master stateroom features a centerline king-sized bed, His-and-Hers heads and matching walk-in closets.

Vip Stateroom

The VIP stateroom is located on the accommodations deck, access via a stairwell forward of the galley. It features a centerline queen berth, ensuite head and shower and ample storage space.

Guest Staterooms

The guest staterooms are located on the accommodations deck forward of the master. The port guest stateroom features a queen berth and the starboard guest stateroom has side-by-side twins with a pullman. Both staterooms have ensuite heads and stall showers.

Crew Quarters

The crew accommodations are immediately aft of the VIP stateroom. Featuring two staterooms and can sleep four. There is an additional crew cabin aft of the engine room.
