Palumbo Superyachts division is focused in the design, construction and refit of superyachts. ISA yachts, Columbus Yachts, Palumbo Superyachts Refit, Palumbo Group.
PALUMBO SUPERYACHTS COMPLETED THE NEW SHED IN ANCONA IN RECORD TIME
Palumbo Superyachts confirms the completion of the new shed at the Ancona facility.
The construction, which began last April, involved the creation of a new shed measuring 19 metres in width, 60 metres in length and 19 metres in height which will be used for the outfitting of superyachts.
This will be in addition to the three sheds already existing in the 52,000sqm Palumbo Superyachts Ancona production site. Besides the skilled team dedicated to the new yacht constructions, the shipyard benefits from the assistance of an expert squad providing aftersales maintenance and refit service to used boats. As well as its specialized manpower and dock capacities, the shipyard can also rely on a 560ton travel lift and a 3300ton superyacht lifting platform, the largest in the Adriatic Sea to date.
There are 10 superyachts ranging from 30 to 80 metres of EXTRA Yachts, Columbus and ISA Yachts lines currently under construction at the Ancona facility.
“With the completion of the new shed, we are getting a breath of fresh air in terms of logistical and production efficiency but we are always looking for new areas next to our construction site and overlooking the sea to better manage our orders. The positive trend that is going through the entire nautical industry, including the specialized one in the Marche Region, can result in concrete investments that companies are willing to make in their territory. A regional round table is being activated and I am sure that the entire nautical sector can strongly benefit from it” comments Giuseppe Palumbo, CEO of Palumbo Superyachts.

Palumbo Superyachts’ latest vessel is extra by name and extra by nature. The 86-footer, which first hit water at the Ancona shipyard on Monday, features an upscale “penthouse feel” and five-star amenities to boot.
The showstopper, known as Haze , was commissioned by Lawson Robb ’s senior designer George Wolstenholme. Wolstenholme was tasked with picking a yacht that aligned with the client’s discerning taste and lifestyle. He landed on the Extra 86 model on account of its flowing layout and open outdoor spaces.
Palumbo Superyachts
Haze sports a forward-set wheelhouse that makes the aft deck and main saloon feel extra spacious. These areas were pimped out as per the owner’s requests: The deck features an epic entertainment space with a projector for late night outdoor movies, while the saloon resembles a makeshift gallery where the owner has displayed a beloved piece of art. There’s also a fully appointed white marble kitchen that you might otherwise find in a high-rise condo.
The vessel can sleep up to eight guests across four cabins, including a full-beam master suite, one generous VIP suite and two twin guest cabins. As you might expect, all come with ensuites. Elsewhere, guests can enjoy the 258-square-foot flybridge, which features huge sunbeds, a bar and barbecue area, as well as two driving seats.
With exterior design by Francesco Guida, Haze pairs modern lines and an elegant slate colorway. She’s powered by twin Volvo IPS 1350 engines that deliver a top speed of 21 knots and cruising speed of 16 knots. The vessel also features integrated solar panels across the main saloon that generate power for the sockets and lights, as well as removable sun shades on the flybridge, aft deck and foredeck.
“The yacht’s styling and vast open outdoor space suits the requirements of the owner extremely well and we are confident the yacht will provide some fantastic experiences for both owner and guests when cruising,” Jordi Wilkes, the owner’s representative, said in a press release . “The chosen exterior paint color and finish just enhances the wow factor of the yacht ensuring she stands out from the crowd.”
Like we said, she’s extra.

Palumbo Superyachts acquires Mondomarine
Palumbo superyachts has expanded its shipyard network with the acquisition of the mondomarine facility and brand….
Last week, Palumbo Superyachts confirmed that it had acquired both the Mondomarine shipyard in Savona and the Mondomarine brand. SuperyachtNews speaks with Francesco Carbone, general manager of Palumbo Superyachts, about the motivations behind the acquisition, developments that are due to take place at the facility and Palumbo’s refit network strategy.
“We began looking at the Mondomarine in 2017 because we wanted a shipyard in the Monaco area,” starts Carbone. “We already have a facility in Marseille, but we wanted an additional facility on the west coast of Italy within the proximity of Monaco, and Mondomarine proved to be the best option.”
The acquisition of Mondomarine took nearly a year as getting the deal through the courts and port authority was complicated by the various issues that Mondomarine experienced in recent years.
Between April and December of 2017, SuperyachtNews reported that Mondomarine had been forced to implement the Italian system of stay-at-home pay for its workers, that the yard was in talks with a Chinese buyer and finally that Mondomarine was being investigated for financial irregularities. The acquisition was made official on 15 November when the Port Authority of Savona granted the twenty-year state property concession to Palumbo.
"...we believe that the refit business model is the most profitable one in yachting."
“Refit is a large part of the [Palumbo] group’s business,” continues Carbone. “The core business of the groups naval and commercial enterprise is refit and we believe that the refit business model is the most profitable one in yachting and, therefore, we think that creating a network [of shipyards] is the key to attracting more yacht owners.”
The Mondomarine facility will be used as both a refit facility – building on Palumbo Groups strong network of facilities that already includes Ancona, Naples, Messina, Malta (2), Marseillie, Tenerife and Rijeka – as well as a new build facility for the soon to be relaunched Mondomarine brand. Mondomarine becomes the third new build business in Palumbo Group’s portfolio, which also includes ISA Yachts and Columbus Yachts.
“We have acquired the yard and the brand. Mondomarine is an established brand that has had problems for a couple of years, but it is not the first superyacht shipyard to run into difficulties and it probably won’t be the last,” says Carbone. “But it’s an established brand with a good number of yacht owners that have already engaged Mondomarine for both new builds and refits.” According to The Superyacht Intelligence Agency , Mondomarine has delivered 31 superyachts ranging from 30-60m.
"...it is not the first superyacht shipyard to run into difficulties and it probably won’t be the last"
Carbone explains that Palumbo Superyachts will invest significantly in both the facility itself and the relaunching of the Mondomarine brand. After a number of years of being poorly maintained, the Savona facility requires refit and renovation, as well as a reorganisation of the team on the ground and the development of new models. Palumbo Group has employed the services of a well-known superyacht designer to develop a number of new Mondomarine superyacht ranges.
“The shipyard is not 100 per cent operational yet, but we have already completed a number of refit works there since January when we were leasing the space. I was there last week and we had six boats under refit at the yard,” explains Carbone. “After the official announcement was made that Palumbo had acquired Mondomarine, we received a lot of enquiries, mostly from yachts in the south of France, so I think the number of works will grow quickly over the next three to four weeks.”
The idea, according to Carbone, is to create a refit network so that superyacht owners can become involved with the wider spectrum of Palumbo Group’s services in the Mediterranean. “What we are proposing to some of our clients is an assistance or maintenance package within which we will take care of works at a price list agreed in advance with the owner. It will enable them, over the course of a year, to come to any of our facilities – be it Marseille, Savona or Malta – and receive the agreed works for the agreed special price.”

Mondomarine Italian Superyachts
Founded in 1915 as Campanella shipyard, Mondomarine has had a diverse shipbuilding history. For decades it had been a maintenance and repair hub for commercial ships until in the 1970s, with new ownership, the yard began building superyachts under the Mondomarine brand. Acquired by Palumbo Superyachts in November 2018, luxury yacht builder Mondomarine now manufactures aluminium and steel superyachts from 40 to 75 metres.

10 Small Superyachts That Offer Supersized Interiors
Posted: June 21, 2023 | Last updated: June 21, 2023
Sunreef 100
For many yacht owners, the solution to finding more space aboard for friends and family is summed up by that immortal line by Chief Brody in Jaws: “You’re gonna need a bigger boat.”
Until now, bigger has typically meant longer. But that’s quickly changing as more and more builders are creating interior volume by going wider and taller. For disrupter builder Wally Yachts and its polarizing new Wallywhy 150—which refers to its internal volume rather than the boat’s length—the quirky design is said to deliver 50 percent more space than more traditional 78-footers.
Other builders like Princess have been in the game since 2021. Its X95 first appeared several years ago, effectively throwing down the gauntlet as a way forward for sub-100-foot yachts to supersize both interior and exterior volumes.
Since then, many other builders of small superyachts have jumped on board, with designs that typically have somewhat bloated profiles, far-forward main suites, and open transoms—features all designed to maximize space but minimize length.
Here are 10 new yachts 100 feet and under that are breaking the mold in an attempt to dominate the nautical space race.
wallywhy150
It’s no wonder that disrupter Italian builder Wally—now part of the Ferretti Group—calls its latest head-turner a “spaceship.” Claiming up to 50 percent more space than comparable 78-footers, the 150 (named after interior volume rather than length) has standout features like a main salon with over eight feet of headroom, and a beam of more than 22 feet. The pragmatic design includes a one-level main deck attached to an open rear cockpit that offers easy access to the water. Its most noteworthy feature is the rule-breaking, full-beam master suite tucked into the bow on the main deck. It has wraparound glass—stretching all the way around the bow—for panorama-like views from the main bedroom. Priced from about $6.7 million.
Lazzara UHV 87
Short for Ultra High Volume, this new Turkish-built pocket superyacht is a sistership to Lazzara’s UHV 100 and 125 models. The newest Lazzara boasts an impressive 2,153 square feet of interior space in its 87-foot length. Arguably, the boat is not pretty in a classic sense. The towering hull sides, blunt, plumb bow, and dark-tinted glass make it look more like a dinner cruiser than a mini-superyacht. But the interior space is astonishing, from the cavernous Sky Lounge, with its floor-to-ceiling windows, to the salon with a separate, chandelier-lit dining area and chef’s galley. With a fuel capacity of 3,000 gals, the twin 1,000 hp Volvo D13s deliver a top speed of 16 knots. The boat also has transatlantic range. Base price starts at about $10.9 million.
Sunseeker 100 Yacht
Movie nights under the stars should have a whole new appeal aboard UK builder Sunseeker’s brand-new 98-footer. Lie back on the yacht’s extra-wide foredeck sunpad and watch the latest blockbuster on a 140-inch screen with laser projection. Or, if you’re the lucky owner, stargaze from your private terrace tucked away in the bow, just steps from the full-beam main-deck master suite, with atrium-style glass sliding doors. One of the best innovations here is the wide, uninterrupted walkway around the entire top deck, which provides safe, easy access from the flybridge to the forward entertaining space. With its twin 2,600 hp V16 MTU diesels, top speed is an impressive 29 knots. Priced from about $10.5 million.
Azimut Grande 26M
For its brand-new Grande 26M compact superyacht, Italian builder Azimut has gone extra wide to create massive interior and exterior spaces. Spatial highlights include a full-width flybridge that’s almost 20 feet across and close to 40 feet long, and a foredeck entertaining area that seems more like an outdoor patio. The Alberto Mancini-styled go-fast cruiser is crammed with space-enhancing innovations, such as a teak-decked garage door that, at the touch of a button, hinges upwards to extend the rear cockpit by almost five feet. New ZF pod drives coupled to the yacht’s twin 1,650 hp MAN V12 diesels also save space. It is priced from about $6.2 million.
Princess X95
As we said during our 2021 tour of Britain’s Princess Yachts’ tri-deck X95 “When it comes to the polarizing, head-spinning design, there are no half-measures, no in-betweens. You either love it. Or loathe it.” But what those eye-popping lines hide is perhaps the most spacious 95-foot luxury cruiser in the category. Reckoned to be some 40 percent roomier than cruisers with the same length, the X95 has stretch-out accommodations for up to 10 in five cabins and living spaces that rival most apartments. The flybridge covers almost the entire length of the yacht. The 100 is also fast, with twin 1,990 hp MAN V12s delivering a top speed of 23 knots. Prices start at about $12 million.
Extra X96 Triplex
This broad-beamed 96-footer is from the Italian builder Extra Yachts, which is part of the Palumbo Superyachts Group. While it’s called the Triplex, there are actually four levels if you include the cozy upper sundeck with its outdoor kitchen, dining area, and oversized sunpads. The exterior comes courtesy of Italian designer Francesco Guida, while interiors are by Milan-based Hot Labs. Both teams have made the most of the yacht’s class-leading 25-foot beam. Notable features include a vast full-beam master on the main level and an upper salon dedicated entirely to dining, with a table for 10, an open chef’s galley, and an adjoining outdoor bar. Twin Volvo IPS1350s deliver a 16.5-knot top speed. Priced from $12 million.
This Sunreef power catamaran’s beam spans a staggering 44 feet, offering the kind of interior and exterior spaces you only get with superyachts twice the length. Every element of the yacht is XXL-size—from the massive hydraulic swim platform to the full-width flybridge that covers almost 1,000 square feet. Down in the salon is a huge 11-seat U-shaped bar that would delight any mixologist. The five staterooms in the twin hulls have space for 10. A pair of 1,300 hp MAN V8 diesels delivers a six-knot top speed. It is priced from about $15.3 million.
Absolute Navetta 75
In Italian, the word “navetta” translates to “little ship.” Which is a perfect description for Absolute’s new 75-foot fast cruiser. It’s an evolution of the strong-selling Navetta 73 but with nearly two feet of extra length. The yacht’s expansive interior volumes will remain the same, with features like a forward master stateroom on its own level that has a private entrance steps away from the main salon. The salon features floor-to-ceiling glass, with full views of the water, courtesy of open bulwarks. Twin 1,000 hp Volvo IPS1350 diesels deliver a top speed of 25 knots. Pricing starts at about $4 million.
Arcadia A96
Cross a spacious Miami high-rise penthouse with a Canyon Ranch spa and the result could be this new 96-foot superyacht from Italian builder Arcadia. Boasting a remarkable 4,300 square feet of total living space, there’s room for 12 guests and five crew. And the living spaces even expand, courtesy of fold-down terraces in the main salon and on the rear deck. But the yacht’s focus on wellness and healthy living sets it apart. That expansive, teak-decked foredeck, spanning over 500 square feet, is perfect for yoga sessions or meditation, while the cockpit and beach club offer another 1,000 square feet of social space. For extra peace and quiet at anchor, solar panels can provide up to nine hours of generator-free power.
Numarine 26XP Fast
Think of it as offering pace, with space. Turkish yard Numarine has been building its bold 85-foot 26XP explorer style mini-superyacht since 2018, but later this year, it will launch the U.S.-focused 26XP Fast. Instead of slow-churning 435 hp diesels and nine-knot cruising, it’s bolting-in a pair of mighty 1,800 hp MAN V12s and modifying the hull to deliver a top speed of 31 knots. What hasn’t changed is the XP’s cavernous interior and expensive deck space. Take the top-deck flybridge which, thanks to the yacht’s 21-foot beam and far-forward helm, spans over 700 square feet. That space will include a dining table for eight, a full outdoor kitchen, and more lounges than a Saint-Tropez beach bar. Prices start from $6.95 million.

Sunrise Yachts, a luxury yacht building company which is based in Turkey, has been made a main sponsor of next year’s 2011 Moscow International Boat Show (MIBS). The four-day Russian yacht show event is currently scheduled to run from April 14-17 at the Moscow’s Crocus exhibition centre.
moscow boat show
MIBS is organised by the ITE Group and it is one of Russia’s leading boat shows and is an internationally recognised superyacht event. The show covering everything from small parts and accessories to large superyacht with over 9,000 people and 178 exhibitors attended the last year show.
The Paolo Scanu-designed Sunrise 45 yacht is an ocean-going cruising yacht that was released in 2009 to much acclaim at this was the group’s first-ever model.
Sunrise Yachts was founded in 2007 by the German entrepreneur Herbert P Baum along with the French-British yacht builder Guillaume Roché. The luxury yacht group is based in Antalya, Turkey and utilises a 10,000sq m shipyard facility. Sunrise has two sheds measuring 100m (328ft) x 16m (53ft), as well as a 70m (230ft) x 16m (53ft) fully acclimatized paint shed that can accommodate new-build and refit projects up to 65m (213ft) in length and 1,200 tonnes displacement.

Along each side of the yacht-building facility, space is available for long-term sub-contractors with the latest equipment and logistics capabilities, along with air-conditioned storage, ventilation and extraction plants. The shipyard is organized as an “assembler,” based loosely on the car industry’s model, with a small, yet powerful project management team charged with running all the in-house long-term sub-contractors.
