If there was a 3.5 star option, I'd go with that. It's a nice scent. Fresh with maybe a hint of sweetness. It just doesn't have better than mediocre performance. Good for 2 hours maybe. Great price though. Can't beat 6 bucks!

The Spanish fragrance company Myrurgia has been in business since 1918. They are committed to creating affordable and innovative fragrances. In 2001, they produced an Aromatic Fougere fragrance called Yacht Man Blue Cologne.

The brain behind this iconic scent is the experienced perfumer Ramon Monegal. He is a fourth-generation perfumer from Barcelona and trained with Myrurgia to become an expert perfumer. I have done a quick review.

Specifications of Yacht Man Blue

At first glance, the product may seem to have a simple design. However, with closer inspection, you can easily see its unique elements. The masculine and captivating fragrance comes in an ocean-inspired blue cardboard box.

The transparent glass bottle is simple and exposes beautiful blue colored cologne. The cologne’s top is unique. It is attached to the bottle via a hinge and is easy to open. Finally, the atomizer is durable and expels a healthy cloud of cologne.

This fragrance consists of the following:

• The initial tope note opens up with notes of lemon, bergamot, green apple, and melon.
• Next, it opens up to a refreshingly floral heart note consisting of a floral blend of jasmine, carnation, freesia , and green.

As I mentioned before, Myrurgia is a company that aims to deliver affordable products. Therefore, it is the cologne to get when you are on a tight budget.

This cologne is very versatile. It is never overwhelming and adaptable for many occasions. Therefore, you can wear it to the office, at the gym or even for an evening out with friends.

I personally think that any modern man should have such a versatile fragrance. With it, by your side, you can rest assured that you will always smell good whatever the occasion. This will transform you into a confident and attractive man that everyone would want to associate with.

With a shallow draft of 1.4m/4'7" Samara can anchor closer to coves and sheltered bays overnight.

SAMARA Yacht for Charter

Luxury motor yacht SAMARA is a stunning power cat built by Pachoud Motor Yachts in 2015, with an interior designed by Sylvia Bolton and exterior styling by Scott Jutson Yacht Design. She is built with a fiberglass hull and GRP superstructure, providing a perfect combination of performance and luxury.

SAMARA stands out from the usual charter crowd and her multi-hull configuration offers over 4,000 square feet of deck space. Within her interior, she accommodates up to eight guests in four luxurious cabins. The beautifully appointed master suite includes his-and-hers sinks in the en-suite bath, a walk-in wardrobe and a private glass door, which leads to the Jacuzzi. Two queen suites are located forward in the port and starboard hulls, and a further double cabin with additional Pullman bunk is to aft in the starboard hull. Charter yacht SAMARA also provides comfortable accommodation for two crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Motor yacht SAMARA’s interior is bright and fresh. Utilizing a largely neutral color palette with accents of blue and turquoise, beautiful furnishings and sumptuous seating throughout the yacht has a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Charter guests can enjoy the views as much from inside as they can from out due to the yacht’s expansive windows.

With a voice as smooth as velvet,  SAMARA JOY ’s star seems to rise with each performance. Following her winning the 2019 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, she is currently recording her debut recording, which will feature Samara backed by the Pasquale Grasso Trio. 

Growing up in New York, music was a pervasive presence, due to the inspiration of her paternal grandparents, Elder Goldwire and Ruth McLendon, who led the well-known Philadelphia-based gospel group, The Savettes. Her father toured with the renowned Gospel artist Andrae Crouch, and her home was filled with the sounds of not only her father’s songs and songwriting process, but the inspiration of many Gospel and R&B artists, including Stevie Wonder, Lalah Hathaway, George Duke, Musiq Soulchild, Kim Burrell, Commissioned, and many others. 

“Although I didn’t grow up singing in church,” explains Samara, “I constantly heard my family singing inspirational music together, which instilled in me an appreciation for my musical lineage. Through musicals in middle school, I loved exploring the range of my voice and applying the different colors to fit the characters I played. Finally, during high school, I joined the choir at my church, eventually becoming a worship leader, singing three services a week for nearly two years. That was my training.”

Samara’s first exposure to jazz was while attending Fordham High School for the Arts, where she performed regularly with the jazz band, eventually winning Best Vocalist at JALC’s Essentially Ellington competition. However, jazz wasn’t really her focus until the time came to choose a college. Wanting to attend a state school close to home, she picked SUNY Purchase, gaining acceptance into their acclaimed jazz program, with a faculty that includes many jazz masters (including Pasquale Grasso and drummer Kenny Washington, who both appear on her debut recording.) 

“My friends were all into jazz and started sharing their favorite recordings with me to check out. The turning point was when I heard both Sarah Vaughan’s version of ‘Lover Man’ and Tadd Dameron’s recordings featuring trumpeter Fats Navarro. I was hooked.”

From this point, she began to pursue her jazz studies with an intense passion, eventually being named the Ella Fitzgerald Scholar and entering and winning the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition. 

Although having only recently celebrated her 21st birthday, Samara has already performed in many of the great jazz venues in NYC, including Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, The Blue Note, and Mezzrow, in addition to working with jazz greats such as Christian McBride, Pasquale Grasso, Kirk Lightsey, Cyrus Chestnut, and NEA Jazz Master Dr. Barry Harris. 

Samara's self-titled debut recording is slated for release on July 9 through Whirlwind Recordings. It presents her backed by the trio of guitarist Pasquale Grasso, bassist Ari Roland, and drummer Kenny Washington. Within the album's liner notes, veteran writer Will Friedwald comments that Samara Joy is “a fantastic collection of highly original new arrangements, beautifully sung by a rising talent, and a very impressive first album. People are forever using the word 'timeless' as if it were the greatest praise ever, but in a way, Samara’s voice and her music seem to belong to all time, like she’s connected to the entire history of jazz all at once - as if she were existing in every era simultaneously, she sounds both classic and contemporary.” 

Winning the Vaughan award was transformational for Joy. “I was suddenly on the jazz radar. It’s still bizarre to think of how fast things have progressed.” Since then, Joy has dug deep to discover her jazz roots, without losing sight of the innate simplicity that makes her sound shine. With her upcoming Verve Records debut, Linger Awhile, 22-year-old Samara Joy makes her case to join the likes of Sarah, Ella, and Billie as the next mononymous jazz singing sensation recorded by the venerable label. Her voice, rich and velvety yet precociously refined, has already earned her fans like Anita Baker and Regina King, appearances on the TODAY Show and millions of likes on TikTok — cementing her status as perhaps the first Gen Z jazz singing star. On Linger Awhile, Samara will introduce that massive audience to a slew of classic standards several times older than she is through her timeless, irresistible sound. Samara is still relatively new to jazz. Growing up in the Bronx, it was music of the past — the music of her parent’s childhoods, as she put it — that she listened to most. She treasures her musical lineage, which stretches back to her grandparents Elder Goldwire and Ruth McLendon, both of whom performed with Philadelphia gospel group the Savettes, and runs through her father, who is a singer, songwriter and producer who toured with gospel artist Andraé Crouch. “Sometimes I catch myself when I’m singing — I'm like, ‘Whoa, that was a dad moment’,” Samara quips. Eventually, she did follow in the family tradition, singing in church and then with the jazz band at Fordham High School for the Arts, with whom she won Best Vocalist at JALC’s Essentially Ellington competition. That led to her enrolling in SUNY Purchase’s jazz studies program, where she fell deeply in love with the music. Though she’s young, she relishes the process of digging through the music’s history and learning new standards. “I think maybe people connect with the fact that I'm not faking it, that I already feel embedded in it,” Samara says. “Maybe I'm able to reach people in person and on social media because it's real.” The gatekeepers of the jazz world tend to agree: in 2019, she won the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, and she’s since performed with legends like Christian McBride and Bill Charlap. Legendary late pianist Barry Harris was a particularly important influence and mentor. “You inspired me as well as many others with this fire for teaching and playing that couldn’t be dimmed by anything or anyone,” Samara writes in Linger Awhile’s liner notes, dedicating the project in part to Harris’ memory. Samara is accompanied by esteemed veterans on Linger Awhile as well: her former professors, guitarist Pasquale Grasso and drummer Kenny Washington, form the core of the band, which also includes bassist David Wong and pianist Ben Paterson. With ease and a preternatural assurance, Samara swings right alongside them through understated yet powerful renditions of this creative collection of standards. There are burnished, gleaming versions of chestnuts in “Misty,” “Linger Awhile” and “Someone To Watch Over Me,” transporting listeners to some romantic, long-lost supper club. Those familiar tunes are listed alongside some more unusual, if equally vintage selections: “Sweet Pumpkin,” a Ronnell Bright tune performed by the likes of Blue Mitchell and Gloria Lynne, and “Can’t Get Out Of This Mood,” which Samara uncovered on a collection of Sarah Vaughan rarities, add a lilting, upbeat bent to the album’s selections. “When I heard the lyrics, I was like, ‘OK, this is positive — it's not as much about heartbreak,” Samara says of “Mood.” “I liked the way I felt after hearing her singing it, and hopefully I can create the same feeling for people when they hear that song.” Samara aims for the opposite on a spine-tingling version of “Guess Who I Saw Today,” originally popularized by Nancy Wilson. This gently grieving rendition showcases the young singer’s exceptional control and range, as well as her refined, distinctive style.  Marrying Samara’s interest in classic standards as well as crate-digging is her take on the iconic Thelonious Monk tune “‘Round Midnight” — instead of the traditional lyrics, Samara sings those written by Jon Hendricks, which she had only heard in a vintage TV performance by Carmen McRae. “Those lyrics haven't been recorded that much — so even though it’s a song that a lot of people know, this is a different take on it,” Samara says. It’s the only song on the album that includes a horn section, including trumpeter Terell Stafford, trombonist Donavan Austin, and finally tenor saxophonist Kendric McCallister, who is responsible for the arrangement, a transformation of Cootie Williams’ original. A concept that will likely be foreign to Samara’s TikTok following is that of vocalese, a jazz technique showcased across Linger Awhile. “Nostalgia (The Day I Knew)” was the product of a jazz transcription class she took with trumpet master Jon Faddis at SUNY Purchase, in which she took down Fats Navarro’s solo from the original 1947 recording and wrote her own lyrics to that melody — inspired, she quips, by the teen romance novels she was reading. She went through the same process with “I’m Confessin’,” combining that song’s original lyrics with her own, set to Lester Young’s 1952 solo. Especially for a contemporary listener, hearing how seamlessly Samara transforms these instrumental lines into breezy lyrics is astounding. Also included on Linger Awhile is “Social Call,” co-written by vocalese pioneer Hendricks and Gigi Gryce — a fitting, beautiful tribute to those who paved the way for Samara’s exploration of this often-overlooked subgenre. The release is just one more step for the ascendant vocalist, who will spend the rest of 2022 touring increasingly large stages — still shocked to be performing in front of thousands who hang on every word. “I'm still very much a student, even though I've graduated,” Samara says. “So this is only the beginning… there is much, much more to come.”
