Billionaires and their yachts land in St. Barts, along with Mike Tyson, Michael Jordan and Jake Paul
J eff Bezos, Jennifer Lopez, Michael Jordan and fellow billionaires, millionaires, stars and athletes have descended on St. Barts for the post-Christmas days leading up to New Year’s, spies tell us.
Also seen near the island this week were yachts allegedly carrying Mets owner Steve Cohen and media mogul David Geffen, while boxing champs Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, and reality wreck Scott Disick, have also been seen partying on land.
Spies saw Jordan’s ship off the island, which comes complete with a basketball hoop on the luxe deck. (If a guest shoots a brick, we’re guessing, the rock goes overboard?) Reports have said that Jordan’s boat, a 230-footer called Joy, can accommodate 19.
But the boat’s apparently worth a mere $80 million, whereas Geffen’s yacht, Rising Sun, is valued at $400 million .
Other boats allegedly in St. Barts this holiday season are captained by Mike Ovitz, Starwood mogul Barry Sternlicht, WhatsApp co-founder Jan Koum, Brit hedgie Ross Turner, Tyson Foods boss John Tyson, blue blood John Adams Morgan, AirWatch founder Alan Dabbiere, Jimmy John’s sandwich tycoon James John Liautaud, Walmart heiress Ann Walton and Buffalo Bills owner Terry Pegula.
Tyson was seen at Nikki Beach, while Kourtney Kardashian’s baby-daddy Disick was holding court at local hot spot Isola.
He was also photographed on a beach date with a more recent ex, Chloe Bartoli.
Bezos and his fiancée, Lauren Sanchez, have been spotted around the island after celebrating her recent birthday.
YouTuber and boxer Jake Paul was seen at Guérite Beach Club.
And J.Lo was seen strolling in a bikini and belting out a tune on her iPhone.
We also hear that Bebe Rexha and Saweetie will be on the island to perform at a benefit gala tonight at the Eden Rock.
If it all seems too over-the-top, while you’re stuck at a playground trying to entertain your kids and wishing the holiday break would end, there’s a meme circulating with an aerial view of the island and the caption: “No one needs to see the view from the plane as you land in St. Barts.”

The biggest yachts to look out for at the 2024 St Barths Bucket
St Barths is the epicentre of superyacht racing during the Caribbean season, often with an impressive array of superyacht spectators in tow . In the final days leading up to the 2024 St Barths Bucket (21-24 March), BOAT rounds up the largest yachts seen pulling into Gustavia for the famed regatta, beginning with Lürssen's 138-metre Rising Sun ...
Builder: Lürssen Length: 138.01m
If not for her sheer size, Rising Sun will be easy to spot from the shores of Gustavia thanks to her distinct glass panels running across the two upper decks. The yacht was the last ever design of Jon Bannenberg and boasts 8,000 square metres of living space that includes a wine cellar, double-height cinema and a basketball court. Rising Sun was originally commissioned by American business magnate Larry Ellison , who later sold the yacht to media mogul David Geffen.
Builder: Kleven Length: 116.15m
One of the largest explorer yachts in the world , Multiverse (ex Ulysses ) was commissioned by New Zealand's richest man, Graeme Hart. She is equipped with a heli-hangar on the top deck for a Bell 429 helicopter, as well as a large swimming pool, cinema and spa for the ultimate guest experience. Inside, the yacht's massive 18-metre beam provides accommodation for an owner's party of up to 66.
Maltese Falcon
Builder: Perini Navi Length: 88m
Fresh out of a full-scale refit, Maltese Falcon is undoubtedly one of the most unique and technologically innovative sailing superyachts in the world – kitted out with radical unstayed masts made of "weapons-grade" carbon fibre, a FalconRig and computerised sail and mast control system. Be sure to look out for the yacht's eponymous emblem on its middle sail, which also appears in the form of a bronze sculpture next to the indoor cinema.
Builder: Admiral – The Italian Sea Group Length: 74.85m
Instantly recognisable, Kenshō' 's flowing lines and metallic green-blue hull took six years to create with design from Dutch firm Azure Yacht Design and Naval Architecture and Berlin-based archineers.berlin . The Admiral flagship was awarded the coveted Motor Yacht of the Year title at the 2023 BOAT International World Superyacht Awards and picked up another Neptune at the 2023 BOAT International Design & Innovation Awards for Best Interior Design. Onboard highlights include a glass-fronted spa pool on the sundeck, a sunbed shaped in the image of a manta ray and a diesel-electric system based on five variable-speed generators that earned the yacht its Eco classification.
Builder: Heesen Yachts Length: 65m
The multiple award-winning Illusion (ex Galactica Star ) was delivered by Heesen in 2013, featuring the Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) developed by Dutch naval architects Van Oossanen & Associates . Her streamlined appearance and generous guest amenities have made her a favourite on the charter scene, with Beyoncé and Jay Z among her list of returning clients . Illusion was also singled out by Dickie Bannenberg – who designed the yacht's interior – as one of his most memorable projects owing to its considerable onboard art collection.
Builder: Benetti Length: 60m
Another popular charter vessel, St David will once again appear on the hit reality TV show Below Deck , but this time with a new captain at the helm. The yacht is characterised by a classic Baroque theme with intricate marquetry made from satin woods, and a mosaic floor on the skylounge that draws inspiration from a "Tuscan palazzo". While St David is known to frequent high-profile events such as the Cannes Film Festival, she has also ventured to off-the-beaten-path locations including the Seychelles, Red Sea and Abu Dhabi.
Builder: Trinity Yachts Length: 58.83m
Launched in 2016, Imagine... is one of the largest yachts to be built in the United States . The tri-deck vessel was penned by long-time collaborator Geoff Van Aller , with both the hull and superstructure built from aluminium to AB classification. The yacht's primary social area is found on the sundeck, where guests can relax in the Jacuzzi, on multiple sun loungers or at the bar. Inside, Imagine... also has a bonus cabin that doubles as a massage room.
Builder: Feadship Length: 55.5m
This Feadship superyacht has sailed under a litany of names since her 2005 delivery, including Twizzile , Drizzle , Issana , Madsummer , Cynthia and most recently, Mary A . In 2018, her owner joined forces with American interior designer Claudette Bonville Associates to give Mary A an exhaustive makeover that included a top-to-bottom paint job, technical tweaks and a brand-new interior – all while carefully preserving the yacht's pedigree.
Builder: Benetti Length: 52m
Lady B (ex Latitude ) appears to be making the most of the winter cruising season, with back-and-forth trips between the British Virgin Islands and St Barths since early December 2023 according to BOATPro 's Global Fleet Tracker. Before that, the yacht spent the off-season touring fan-favourite destinations in the South Pacific, such as Fiji, the Cook Islands and French Polynesia. She is consistently ranked among the most popular charter vessels with amenities such as an outdoor cinema, a Jacuzzi and a recently updated dive centre.

St. Barts Travel Guide
St. Barts—also known as St-Barth, St. Barths, and Saint Barthélemy—is a French-speaking Caribbean island known for its luxe vibe and flawless beaches. Popular among the jet set, St. Barts is home to many high-end restaurants, designer stores, and yachts, but not a lot of land or people: the population of the 9.26-square-mile island was around 10,000 in the most recent census.
With no direct flights from the U.S., this little piece of paradise in the French West Indies isn't super easy to reach, but that's part of its allure. Many visitors arrive by private plane or yacht, and those who go the commercial route know the treasure awaiting them at the end is worth the multi-step journey.
Arrive to the hilly, red-roofed island—after a thrilling touchdown on a short beachfront airstrip; landing here is one of the most remarkable airport experiences in the world—and you'll instantly see what makes St. Barts such a coveted getaway.
Atlantic Standard Time all year (no clock changes during Daylight Saving Time)
Best Time to Go
The weather is warm year-round, so weather isn't the main factor to consider for a visit—but there are other types of seasons to contend with in St. Barts.
Late November through early January is peak tourist season. Prices on hotels and flights are much higher than usual, and some properties even require two-week minimum stays around the holidays. High season lasts through February, but the prices aren't quite as high as they are around the holidays.
March and April continue to see higher rates due to events like Easter, spring break, and various regattas, including the annual St. Barths Bucket Regatta that takes place each March. May and June are great months to visit St. Barts because there are still many visitors, but the crowds are thinner and the rates aren't quite so inflated. It's also outside of hurricane season, which begins in June.
June through November is hurricane season and while the rates are much lower during the summer, there is a risk that your plans will be affected by the development of a storm. If you're not worried about this, it can be a great time to visit and experience a slightly more affordable, less crowded St. Barts.
Note that some properties close for seasonal maintenance during September and October. Late summer also tends to be rainier in St. Barts, while November through April is the island's drier season.
Things to Know
Currency: Euro (Check the current exchange rate )
Official Language: French (but everyone speaks English)
Calling Code: +590
Capital City: Gustavia
Power Outlets: The European-style sockets have two round holes, so bring an adapter plug if needed.
There are no direct flights from the U.S. to St. Barts (unless you're chartering a private plane). Your options to get to St. Barts include flying into San Juan, Puerto Rico, and taking a one-hour flight aboard Tradewind Aviation, which can be pricey; flying into the island of St. Maarten and taking a 15-minute flight aboard St Barths Commuter or WinAir, which tends to be more affordable but also requires clearing customs in St. Maarten; or flying into the island of St. Maarten and taking a 45-minute ferry to St. Barts.
Renting a car on the island is the way to go—cabs are hard to come by and very expensive. Fortunately, navigating the island by car is a breeze, and it's one of the more budget-friendly activities on the island.
Renting a villa is a popular alternative to staying in a hotel in St. Barts. A villa may be a better option if you're traveling with a group or desire more privacy than a hotel affords. Small cottages and apartment-style condos can also be a more affordable alternative to hotels; you'll also save money on food by cooking some of your own instead of eating out for every meal.
Expect some seasonal closures during the Atlantic hurricane season, which lasts from June to November. (However, this is also a good time to score significantly lower rates, as long as you're aware your plans may be forced to change due to the weather.)
How to Get Around
St. Barts has no public transportation or bus system. Instead, most travelers rent a car, motorbike, scooter, or bicycles. Taxis are available on the island, but are very limited in number and extremely pricey. The island is small, and getting around the entire thing takes less than half an hour.

Things to Do
Enjoy the beaches.
The island has a lot to love, but the beaches are its main attraction. Pick your poison: Saline is gorgeous, secluded, and simple, with no bars or restaurants to disturb the quiet vibe; St. Jean Beach provides the total opposite experience, as it's home to Eden Rock and Nikki Beach, so there's lots of action and great people-watching; Shell Beach is so named because it's covered in crushed shells (it's also home to the popular beach bar/restaurant Shellona , so no need to pack your own lunch); and Gouverneur is an unspoiled cove that's great for picnics and privacy. Visit one or all of them and you're guaranteed the beach day of your dreams.
Do the Colombier hike
Though the Colombier hike leads to a private beach only accessible by foot or by yacht, it remains one of the must-do activities in St. Barts. If you don't want to brave the hike, consider chartering a boat that will take you to Colombier to snorkel.
Watch the sunset at Hotel Christopher
Address: Pointe Milou F-97133, St Barthélemy, F.W.I Phone: +590 590 27 63 63 Website
Perhaps the best place to watch the sunset in St. Barts is from Hotel Christopher's infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Even non-guests are permitted to come for drinks and enjoy the view.
Hike and swim at the Grand Fond natural pool
Take a short hike to the beautiful natural pool of Grand Fond for a classic St. Barts experience. Just make sure to wear water shoes to protect your feet from the rocky terrain and sea urchins.
Petit Cul-de-Sac
Home to another natural pool, Petit Cul-de-Sac is a protected lagoon that's great for snorkeling and enjoying a quiet beach. It's located on the eastern end of the island.
Explore the island's capital, Gustavia
Gustavia is the capital and main town of St. Barts, wrapping a U shape around the harbor. Here, visitors can simply stroll the many upscale boutiques and art galleries, find a place to eat, book water sports with a local outfitter, enjoy the nightlife, or wander to the ruins of Fort Gustave or Fort Karl. Other interesting activities include learning a bit of island history at the Wall House Museum and visiting the Vieux Clocher (the oldest building in Gustavia).

Neighborhoods to Know
St. Barts is only 11 miles long and 2.5 miles wide, so it's quite small, and driving around it takes about 30 minutes max. The island's separate neighborhoods are not divided up as distinctly as on other islands, but there are still two main neighborhoods you should know about, because most visitors choose to stay in proximity to these two spots.
Gustavia: Gustavia is the capital of St. Barts and the island's main town. This is where you'll find a hub of activity, from shopping to groceries to galleries, businesses, and restaurants. Wander the streets at your leisure or simply enjoy watching the yachts in the harbor that the town encircles.
St. Jean: The tiny village of St. Jean is the most popular place for tourists outside of Gustavia; it also has great restaurants and shopping, and is close to the island's only airport. Here, you'll also find the picture-perfect crescent of sand called St. Jean Beach, where there's a natural coral reef to enjoy if you can manage to pry yourself off the sand. Eden Rock and Nikki Beach are along the same stretch.
The weather in St. Barts is tropical and relatively warm year-round. There are two "seasons": from December through May, expect milder temperatures; June through November, the weather is warmer.
However, the differences are not extreme: it's about 80 degrees Fahrenheit in winter and can get up to 90 in the summer. The water also stays warm, so it's never a bad season to swim.
Hurricanes are possible between June and November during the Atlantic hurricane season, especially in September and October. St. Barts suffered significant damage from Hurricane Irma in 2017.
The following are average Fahrenheit lows and highs by month. The average precipitation is about 40 inches per year, and August to November tend to be the wettest months. In every month, expect eight to nine hours of sunshine per day.
January 73 - 84 February 73 - 84 March 73 - 84 April 75 - 86 May 77 - 88 June 79 - 90 July 79 - 90 August 79 - 90 September 79 - 90 October 79 - 88 November 77 - 88 December 75 - 86

St Barths yacht charter
Why charter a yacht in st barths.
When you're done living the life in the capital of Gustavia, done shopping for designer clothes and jewelry, there's only one thing left for you to do in St. Barths, and that's to go on a yacht charter hopping from one beach to another or heading to the nearby Leeward Islands that dot this region of the Caribbean. To charter a yacht in St. Barths is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. You get to immerse yourself in the beauty of the beautiful waters and enjoy a luxurious way to marvel at all the natural beauty that surrounds.
What are yacht charter prices in St Barths?
Gustavia's yacht-filled harbor shows you that the island is a sailing favorite for yachting enthusiasts. Here, you can find all kinds of boats, from monohulls to sailing catamarans, to superyachts that provide you with everything you need for an indulgent holiday. A 100-foot motor yacht can cost an average of $9,000 for a full day's charter, while a 47-foot sailing catamaran can cost about $1,500 from 9 am to 5 pm. A superyacht, with a length of 268-feet, can cost around $890,000 for a full week's charter.
When is the yachting season in St Barths?
St. Barths offers beautiful weather almost all year-round, except for hurricane season that begins in July and ends in early November. Therefore, the months of December to March is the ideal yachting season in St. Barths, when the skies are blue and the sun is shining all day, offering the most beautiful weather to sail around the waters and laying around the gorgeous white-sand beaches.
St Barths yacht charter for a day
There are 22 beaches in St. Barths, with 15 of them accessible for swimming. All beaches are open to the public, which means you've got 22 reasons to hop on a yacht charter for a day exploring these wonders. However, because you only have about 7 to 8 hours of daytime, a full day yacht charter can only get you to a few locations on the island. One of these is the Colombier beach, which is only accessible by boat or a 30-minute hike. Because of its inaccessibility, it is often peaceful and quiet, making it the perfect spot for some private sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling, and a picnic on the beach. After lunch, head over to the beach of Saline, or to Shell Beach, or to Anse du Gouverneur. A day of swimming, cruising, and snorkeling is best finished with a sunset cruise as you make your way back to Gustavia Harbor.
St Barths yacht charter overnight
There are plenty of 5-star resorts on the island, but to truly experience a Caribbean yacht charter, an overnight adventure spent at one of its bays is a definite must. You can start your overnight yacht charter with a visit to the famous St. Barths beaches, then followed by a cruise to the small, protected, private island 45 minutes away, which is Fourche. You can anchor on the bay for the night, then come morning, head to Scrub Island in Anguilla, which is a deserted white-sand island. Snorkel, swim, and cruise around the islands, before making your bay to St. Barths.
St Barths yacht charter for a week
A yacht has everything you need to have a luxury vacation. It has beautiful cabins, a wide deck where you can dine and lounge around as you cruise through the calm and beautiful waters of St. Barths, and of course, the VIP treatment from the staff and crew. This means that a week-long yacht charter is truly a luxurious experience you shouldn't miss. When you're in St. Barths, you have the beaches and the nearby islands as your getaway, providing you with one unique setting to another, each and every day. Here is a sample itinerary of a one-week liveaboard on board a luxury yacht charter:
Day 1: Gustavia Harbor
Cruise the harbor and drop anchor at the shipwreck of the motor yacht "Nonstop," which sank in a storm and is now home to soft corals and fishes. Cruise along the coast and enjoy drinks on the deck, before making your way to several beaches around the island. Head to Colombier, where you will safely moor the yacht for the night.
Day 2: Colombier
Enjoy the Colombier beach for a quiet day of relaxing, swimming, and snorkeling. Then head your way to the Ile de la Fourche, where you will anchor for the night.
Day 3: Ile de la Fourche
The cactus-covered hills of this secluded island are a unique ambiance from the chic boutiques and lavish lifestyle in Gustavia. Climb one of the island's five peaks, where you are rewarded with panoramic views of the Leeward Islands. If you're lucky and happen to be there during Spring, you can also spot humpback whales on the water. Have lunch on the boat, then get back to the beach, where you can snorkel or even spot sea turtles.
Day 4: Prickly Pear Cays and Seal Island Reefs
These spots are ideal for snorkeling and scuba diving, and if you don't fancy getting underwater, you can explore the beaches or simply lounge on the deck for drinks and snacks.
Day 5: Anguilla
Visit the island of Anguilla with its charming villages and serene harbor. Drop anchor at Road Town, where you can see master craftsmen making boats the traditional way. You can also visit Flat Cap Point, where you can snorkel under the cliffs of this marine sanctuary.
Day 6: Tintamarre
This island is just off St. Maarten's tip, and it's a secluded, uninhabited island. This means you can have the beach all to yourself, where you can snorkel to your heart's content and spend a lazy afternoon reading a book on a hammock.
Day 7: Back to St. Barths
We recommend spending a few hours on Tintamarre and visiting Marigot Bay, which is reminiscent of old south of France town, with its cafes and bistros. Buy some freshly baked bread and pastries, wine, cheese, or French perfume. Hop back on board and sail away back to St. Barths.
Wedding yacht charter in St Barths
Being home to world-class resorts, high-end shopping, and some of the Caribbean's best restaurants, it's no wonder a wedding yacht charter on the island will make your wedding dreams come true. Imagine a wedding weekend with your closest and friends and family, living the life, and experiencing a ceremony and party right on the deck, with the beautiful blue horizon and crystal clear waters as your perfect backdrop. Once your wedding is done and everyone has gotten off the yacht, head to a private, secluded beach or another island, to enjoy the beginning of the rest of your life together.
Luxury yacht holiday in St Barths

It is home to superyachts, luxury yachts, and yacht holiday options that give you the ultimate taste of what it's like to live the high life.
