Fall leaves, September wedding, Britannia Yacht Club Wedding Photos, Amy Pinder Photography

Ryan and Nicole’s Britannia Yacht Club wedding photos took place on that perfect final week of Summer, when the leaves on the trees are just starting to change colour but that Summer heat is still around for a few more weeks! Ohh, how I  love September weddings!!

I’ve said it once , twice …ok,  many times , but my favourite part about any wedding will always be the personal touches a couple puts into their day!! This wedding was full of them, and one of my favourites was the way in which Ryan and Nicole chose to invite their guests up to the buffet for dinner…When guests first entered the reception room of the Britannia Yacht Club, they were invited to sit at tables with seemingly random table names…it was fun to see guests trying to guess why their tables were named things like ‘Snowstorm’ and ‘Marvel’, and to later find out that each table name was associated with a story of the bride and groom. The MCs read the stories out to the guests during dinner service, and the table associated with that story would be the next to be invited up to the buffet! It was fun to piece the stories together and to try and guess which table name was coming next! I loved this idea and I really hope to see it at future weddings to come!!

Another favourite moment of mine was the first time Nicole’s parents saw her fully dressed as a bride (this moment has taken on a full new meaning for me now, now that we have a daughter of our own)! Equally as special was knowing that Nicole was wearing her mother’s wedding veil, and then later watching both her parents walk her down the aisle. Family played a key role in all the events of the day – from prep, to the ceremony, to toasts during the reception – and I know these must be some of Nicole and Ryan’s favourite memories from their wedding day!

Without further ado, enjoy this sneak peek of Ryan and Nicole’s Britannia Yacht Club wedding, on this, the final weekend of Summer!!

Britannia Yacht Club Wedding

Silhouette of bride and groom walking along pier at the Britannia Yacht Club

Sarah + Stephen

Sarah and Stephen’s Britannia Yacht Club wedding was simply amazing.  They lucked out with an actual nice sunny day (which have been few and far between this year!), and although the clouds rolled in once or twice the weather couldn’t have been better.

These two rented an AirBnb for the weekend, which is where Sarah got ready.  It was a gorgeous house with so much character, not to mention a great retreat after the wedding too.

As always, the Britannia Yacht Club didn’t disappoint – it’s such a gorgeous venue.  With the beautiful view and the setting sun washing through the windows, everyone at the reception had a blast eating, drinking, mingling and, of course, dancing!

8 Stunning Outdoor Wedding Venues in Ottawa

Heading to our country’s capital for your big day? Here are a few outdoor wedding venues in Ottawa you need to see.

Joel & Jess Photography

Let’s talk about outdoor wedding venues in Ottawa! You’ve probably seen your fair share of ballrooms and banquet halls , but some of the city’s brightest gems are actually in the great outdoors. From art gallery balconies to wineries to elegant estates, there’s an open-air  wedding venue for every type of couple. To help get you started, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite outside event spaces in Ottawa. Hopefully, you’ll find “the one” on this list!

Here are some awesome outdoor wedding venues in Ottawa.

Britannia yacht club (2777 cassells street).

If you’re on the hunt for a wedding venue with a bit of a nautical twist, you’ll love the Britannia Yacht Club . It has plenty of room outdoors to set up a marquee tent , so you can easily have your ceremony or reception overlooking the Ottawa River. If you want to head inside for half your event, you’re in luck, because it’s pretty stunning in there, too! It has a bit of an old-timey feel inside, with wood paneling and flooring throughout and massive windows that let in a ton of natural light. It can fit up to 144 guests indoors, or 150 guests outdoors.

Britannia Yacht Club

Carleton Golf and Yacht Club (6627 Marina Drive)

Want to feel like a member at a swanky golf club on your wedding day? Go ahead and book the Carleton Golf and Yacht Club . The picturesque outdoor area is great for ceremonies and has amazing views of the marina and lush surrounding gardens, giving you plenty of beautiful wedding backdrops to choose from. Once you’ve said your vows, head inside the clubhouse to party the night away in the club’s banquet hall (it’s a completely flexible space that can easily be spruced up to fit your wedding theme ). It can accommodate anywhere from 20 to 140 guests, making it perfect for small to midsized weddings.

Carleton Golf & Yacht Club

Canadian Golf and Country Club (7800 Gold Club Way)

The Canadian Golf and Country Club is another gorgeous country club venue in Ottawa that definitely needs to be on your radar. The crown jewel of the space is its outdoor ceremony area, which features a charming gazebo at the edge of a private pond (idyllic, to say the least). If you don’t want to bring your reception into the clubhouse dining room, there’s ample lawn space for a reception tent and an enclosed pavilion available. It can accommodate up to 300 guests.

Canada Agriculture and Food Museum (901 Prince of Wales Drive)

Canada Agriculture and Food Museum may not seem like a romantic spot, but it’s truly one of the most stunning outdoor wedding venues in Ottawa. It has ample lawn space, heritage barns, and wildflower fields that make for amazing ceremony and reception areas (not to mention photoshoot backdrops). It can fit up to 500 guests, so you don’t have to worry about cutting back your list at all.

Canada Agriculture and Food Museum

Umbrella Bar (1001 Queen Elizabeth Driveway)

Umbrella Bar is a quaint and summer-y wedding venue on Dow’s Lake with a massive waterfront patio. Aside from strands of fairy lights overhead, this outdoor spot is pretty much a blank canvas, meaning you can add whatever decor and furnishings fit your theme and colour scheme. It can fit between 50 and 150 guests, so don’t go too crazy with your guest list.

Umbrella Bar

Domaine Perrault Winery (1000 Perrault Road)

If you and your partner love nothing more than kicking back with a bottle of vino, Domaine Perrault Winery may just be your dream winery wedding venue. It covers 500 acres of land, and has plenty of lawn space that would fit marquee tents of just about any size. It truly is the perfect spot if you love rustic-chic, country-style themes, and looks awesome outfitted with wood-heavy decor and fairy lights. It can work with groups of up to 200 guests.

Domaine Perrault Winery

Stonefields Estate (1985 9th Line Beckwith)

Take the 45-minute drive out of Ottawa to see all the beauty that Stonefields Estate has to offer. It’s a 120-acre heritage farm and has its original stone farmhouse, log barns, and an elegant event building, as well as plenty of outdoor space that you can take advantage of for your celebration. Basically, if you’ve dreamed of having a rustic-chic, farm style wedding, this is the wedding venue for you. It can accommodate up to 220 guests but is happy to host more intimate weddings, too.

Stonefields Estate

Le Belvedere (40 Des Sentiers)

Le Belvedere is another stunning wedding venue that’s worth leaving Ottawa for (don’t worry, it’ll only take you half an hour in the car). It’s an 8,000 square foot event space that sits right on the edge of a cliff in Wakefield, Quebec, and offers some seriously gorgeous views (like, the Gatineau Hills as a backdrop for your celebration). The interior is ultra-modern, but if you want to embrace the great outdoors on your special day, you need to book its rustic patio space. The maximum capacity is 200 guests.

Sights of Elektrostal, Moscow region

2024 Author : Harold Hamphrey | [email protected] . Last modified: 2023-12-17 10:06

In the Moscow region there is a small cozy town Elektrostal. Its sights for the most part have no historical value due to the fact that the city has a relatively small history. But for a visiting tourist or city dweller, they will be of interest. There is something to see, where to go to have an exciting leisure time.

Today the population of the city is 158 thousand people. Until the beginning of the 20th century there were several small workers' settlements here. After the opening of the electrometallurgical and equipment factories, the place began to be called the natural boundary of Calm. The construction of the railway made this settlement accessible, and workers and families flocked here to earn money. In 1925, the station was named Elektrostal, and the rapid increase in population allowed the village to receive the status of a city.

attractions elektrostal photo

The founder of the city is a prominent Russian industrialist Nikolai Vtorov. It was he who opened the plant here, creating, in fact, a city-forming enterprise that is still operating. In Soviet times, it was a closed facility, and it was not easy to get to work here.

Today Elektrostal is a promising industrial city with a great future and a heroic past. It bears the proud name "City of Military and Labor Glory".

You can learn about the sights of Elektrostal with descriptions and photos here. There are places for walking, outdoor activities and cultural development.

sights of the electric steel of the Moscow region

Those who come to the city by train are met by a monument to the metallurgist. It was installed in November 2017 for the 100th anniversary of the Elektrostal plant. The attraction is made in the style of constructivism. The monument quickly won the love of the townspeople, because this city is supported by ordinary workers.

Elektrostal attractions photo with description

Elektrost altsy and the founding father of the plant, Nikolai Vtorov, are honored. In 2002, a monument was opened in honor of him, which became a landmark of the city of Elektrostal. The bronze sculpture is installed on the site where once stood a monument to the leader of the world proletariat, V. I. Lenin. Times change, characters change. Today, the plant, founded a century ago, is the largest in Russia. Vtorov himself, whose fortune was estimated at 60 million rubles in gold, according to Forbes magazine, was the owner of the largest capital at the beginning of the century. He was a banker, an industrialist, an entrepreneur, a man of action.

The monument was erected byinitiative of the townspeople who wished to perpetuate the monument to the great man.

One of the popular places for spending weekends and evenings among citizens and guests of the city is the Park of Culture and Leisure. Here you can ride attractions for children and adults, play slot machines, rollerblade or bike. The park is divided into two zones. Fans of unhurried walks in the fresh air make a promenade on the Quiet Alley, and those who prefer outdoor activities flock to the Entertainment Alley. The park has a summer stage, where concerts and cafes are regularly held.

Elektrostal attractions

Until 1999, there was no central museum among the attractions of Elektrostal in the Moscow Region. The expositions were exhibited in schools, the house of culture, in factory museums. The city was closed, so there was no large influx of tourists and visitors. The appearance of the historical and art museum made it possible for residents and guests of the city to learn a lot of useful information about their native land, the formation of the production process, and the difficult years of the war. The exposition consists of paintings by local artists, historical artifacts, household items, documents, books and much more. The collection is updated regularly. It also hosts outdoor exhibitions, which are always popular with the townspeople.

One of the main attractions of Elektrostal, the photo of which is available to almost every resident or visitor, is the Main Alley. On herpassers-by like to stroll along shady paths, townspeople rest by the fountain after a hard shift at the plant. Flower beds are the decoration of the alley. In 2006, a flower festival was held here for the first time, which has become traditional. Each enterprise of the city and private individuals give residents a real composition of fresh flowers, which pleases with bright colors all summer long. A riot of colors, aromas and a flight of fantasy reigns here. Walking through the park, you can see Snow White with a basket, a bright well, a multi-tiered cake made from fresh flowers, hearts of lovers or a fabulous house. It is almost impossible not to take a photo against the background of these compositions.

There is a cultural center in the city. It hosts performances by local creative teams and visiting stars, performances and circus performances.

In 1971, the ice palace "Crystal" was opened in the city. Almost immediately, a children's and youth hockey team was organized, which gained sports fame. This is the home sports arena for the Elektrostal hockey team. Matches of different levels are held on the ice.

There are sections for children who go in for hockey or figure skating. Citizens come here with their families to cheer for their favorite team or go ice skating.

Elektrostal is a city with a heroic past. During the war years, more than 12 thousand citizens came to the recruiting station and went to the front to defend their homeland. Almost 4 thousand of them did not return from the battle. To these heroesdedicated to the memorial complex with the inextinguishable Eternal Flame, opened in 1968

But the electricians took part in the war in Afghanistan and Chechnya. By decision of the city authorities, their memory is also immortalized in the memorial complex.

It has become a good tradition for newlyweds to lay flowers at this monument.

attractions of the city of Elektrostal

In 1999, a museum and exhibition complex was opened in the city, where, in addition to the exhibition hall, there are numerous circles for children, classes for young people, and a creative workshop. Various festivals, exhibitions, city holidays and other events are held within the walls and on the territory of the complex, which attract many spectators.

Elektrostal attractions

Listing the sights of Elektrostal, it is impossible not to mention the temples. There are several of them in the city: the church of St. John of Kronstadt, St. Andrew's Church, the hospital church of St. Panteleimon. Another new church is being built. In appearance, the temples look ancient, monumental, in the Novgorod style. But they were all built at the end of the 20th century.

Let there be no ancient artifacts among the sights of Elektrostal. But on the other hand, all of them are connected with the history of the city, with everyday work and military exploits of ordinary residents.

Coordinates of Elektrostal in decimal degrees

Coordinates of elektrostal in degrees and decimal minutes, utm coordinates of elektrostal, geographic coordinate systems.

WGS 84 coordinate reference system is the latest revision of the World Geodetic System, which is used in mapping and navigation, including GPS satellite navigation system (the Global Positioning System).

Geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) define a position on the Earth’s surface. Coordinates are angular units. The canonical form of latitude and longitude representation uses degrees (°), minutes (′), and seconds (″). GPS systems widely use coordinates in degrees and decimal minutes, or in decimal degrees.

Latitude varies from −90° to 90°. The latitude of the Equator is 0°; the latitude of the South Pole is −90°; the latitude of the North Pole is 90°. Positive latitude values correspond to the geographic locations north of the Equator (abbrev. N). Negative latitude values correspond to the geographic locations south of the Equator (abbrev. S).

Longitude is counted from the prime meridian ( IERS Reference Meridian for WGS 84) and varies from −180° to 180°. Positive longitude values correspond to the geographic locations east of the prime meridian (abbrev. E). Negative longitude values correspond to the geographic locations west of the prime meridian (abbrev. W).

UTM or Universal Transverse Mercator coordinate system divides the Earth’s surface into 60 longitudinal zones. The coordinates of a location within each zone are defined as a planar coordinate pair related to the intersection of the equator and the zone’s central meridian, and measured in meters.

Elevation above sea level is a measure of a geographic location’s height. We are using the global digital elevation model GTOPO30 .
