Before, during or after your epic bareboating adventure through the Whitsunday Islands, you might want to enjoy a restaurant meal. You will be doing a lot of cooking after all while you’re out there on the boat. Here are some of our recommendations on the islands, and on the mainland, that you might like to visit while in the Whitsundays.

Hamilton Island

Around the marina there are numerous restaurants from casual cafes and pizza places, to the stylish Bommie Restaurant at the Hamilton Island Yacht Club. Try Manta Ray for pizzas, Mariners for seafood, Romano’s for Italian, or TAKO for modern Mexican fusion.

On the beachside, there are more options again, with the casual Sailz bistro and the modern Asian Coca Chu.

You can also enjoy some sunset drinks at One Tree Hill, or on the Bommie Deck of the Hamilton Island Yacht Club, or in the swim-up pool bar in the main resort centre.

Cape Gloucester/Hydeaway Bay

The local’s secret northern spot, Hydeaway Bay is home to two lovely relaxed beachfront establishments, Cape Gloucester Resort and Montes. Open for lunch, dinner and drinks.

Airlie Beach

Airlie Beach enjoys a wealth of amazing restaurants, to suit all tastes and budgets.

Don’t want to leave the marina? Sorrento’s is right next door and offers casual Italian and delicious pizza.

While in town, enjoy the renowned nightlife of the Airlie Beach main street. There are pubs and clubs with live music, DJs, and more.

What’s the dress code?

It’s the Whitsundays, we’re very relaxed up here. You can safely leave the high heels and suits at home! The dress code for all resort islands is casual resort wear, except Bommie Restaurant on Hamilton Island, where a smarter dress code is appropriate.

Sometimes the best restaurant can’t compete with your very own boat. But if run out of something important on the water, there is currently no delivery service in the Whitsunday Islands that can bring supplies to you. Make sure you do your food and drinks provisioning well, before you leave the marina. It’s better to have too much than not enough. The only places to restock your fridge are Airlie Beach or Hamilton Island. Find out more about provisioning your boat here.

Guests have the opportunity to purchase essentials (from a list of selected items) such as baby formula and nappies in advance or on arrival (payable direct to the hotel). Additionally there is a range of complimentary items available such as highchairs, cots, prams, bumbos & bouncers which can be requested at the time of booking. Welcome to the absolutely breathtaking Yacht Club Villa 13. 

All the Yacht Club Villas are stunning , but this one is extra special. One of only two front row Yacht Club Villas that have the additional rumpus room under the main lounge. This means that this absolutely stunning villa can sleep up to 10 people; and the second large lounge complete with billiard table is the perfect spot to keep the kids entertained while the parents can use the main lounge upstairs. 

Completely refurbished in June 2019 - all furniture was replaced and the whole villa repainted, new carpet and soft furnishings; you won’t find a villa in a better condition.   

This front row villa has absolutely breath-taking views to dent passage and a private grass area that provides maximum privacy.  

This gated community right on Hamilton Island Marina is renowned now as the prestige complex for accommodation on Hamilton Island- the location is second to none- within walkable distance to the marina and only a few minutes drive in your complimentary golf buggy to Hamilton Island’s main beach, Catseye Beach. The complex pool is one of the best in the country with manicured gardens and breath taking views.
