Advertised by DMA Yachting, the majestic charter yacht Blue Velvet is a 52 ft sailing catamaran. The promiment features of Blue Velvet are her most appealing features and experienced crew. Blue Velvet spends the summer season in Greece. She was constructed by recognized shipbuilder Lagoon in 2020. The expansive yacht layout features 6 generous cabins and comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests.

Blue Velvet is introduced primarily as a sailing catamaran. The the core layout is spread out from the main saloon, which connects to the aft deck. The aft deck is expansive, with a comfortable dining and seating area and that's where most of the delicious meals are served. The tasteful cabins offer designer mattrace beds and feature ensuite bathrooms. The cabins are located below the main saloon, connected by stairs (inquire about handicapped access). Multiple portholes offer desirable views, while providing privacy if needed.

He started sailing as a member of the Sailing Club of Patras. He has participated in various sailing races and has achieved many awards in national championships, among which are the Ionian and the Aegean Rally. At the age of 25, he had his own sailing boat which he fully refitted himself. Now he is a professional skipper with lots of experience, and most importantly, he has a lot of love for the sea, creating a very promising combination, which guarantees great services and unforgettable holidays. He has been working with us for over 20 years and his abilities made him one of the best and most trustworthy skippers in our company. In his free time, he enjoys fishing and all sea-related activities. CHRISTINA XOURGIA - Hostess Place of birth: Messolonghi, Greece Age: 32 Nationality: Greek Languages spoken: English, Greek Christina started back in 2018 when she had her first sailing trip as a client. She quickly understood that this kind of working life was perfect for her. The crew were Captain Panos, hostess Christina and chef Konstantina.<br /> <br /> We were 9 people, all have had extensive boating and yachting experience on many similar boats. <br /> <br /> - Hospitality: the team were fantastic, we felt welcomed and cared for every minute of our trip. The hostess Christina was there for us every step of the way to ensure everything was smooth and comfortable. <br /> - Food: It was perfect! And furthermore, the chef took special care to accommodate our eating habits and special diets which were not easy. <br /> - Navigation: Captain Panos is a true captain and knows his boat and area inside and out. It was very comforting for us to know that we were in good hands on the boat. He took the time to understand our preferences and made sure to suggest the finest places along the way. <br /> - Cleanliness: The rooms were kept nicely clean at all times. So was the deck of the boat.<br /> - Overall: The crew took amazing care of us. We are very thankful and can’t wait to be back on the Blue Velvet with this crew. Blue Velvet can have up to 12 guests, as there is an extra cabin with upper and lower bunk beds (ideal for two children or young adults, again with ensuite facilities). Also loved by families with children, who enjoy the spacious front and flybridge area. The available water toys will bring fun to another level. PANAGIOTIS KOUROUKLIS - Captain Place of birth: Messolonghi, Greece Age: 54 Nationality: Greek Languages spoken: English, Greek Panos was born in Mesologgi in 1968. He started sailing as a member of the Sailing Club of Patras. He has participated in various sailing races and has achieved many awards in national championships, among which are the Ionian and the Aegean Rally. At the age of 25, he had his own sailing boat which he fully refitted himself. Now he is a professional skipper with lots of experience, and most importantly, he has a lot of love for the sea, creating a very promising combination, which guarantees great services and unforgettable holidays. He has been working with us for over 20 years and his abilities made him one of the best and most trustworthy skippers in our company. In his free time, he enjoys fishing and all sea-related activities. CHRISTINA XOURGIA - Hostess Place of birth: Messolonghi, Greece Age: 32 Nationality: Greek Languages spoken: English, Greek Christina started back in 2018 when she had her first sailing trip as a client. She quickly understood that this kind of working life was perfect for her. Working as a hostess on sailing boats offers the perfect match because of her love of the sea as well as giving care to others. We wanted to write this review message of our charter on Blue Velvet on July 6th. The crew were Captain Panos, hostess Christina and chef Konstantina. We were 9 people, all have had extensive boating and yachting experience on many similar boats. - Hospitality: the team were fantastic, we felt welcomed and cared for every minute of our trip. The hostess Christina was there for us every step of the way to ensure everything was smooth and comfortable. - Food: It was perfect! And furthermore, the chef took special care to accommodate our eating habits and special diets which were not easy. - Navigation: Captain Panos is a true captain and knows his boat and area inside and out. It was very comforting for us to know that we were in good hands on the boat. He took the time to understand our preferences and made sure to suggest the finest places along the way. - Cleanliness: The rooms were kept nicely clean at all times. So was the deck of the boat. - Overall: The crew took amazing care of us. We are very thankful and can’t wait to be back on the Blue Velvet with this crew. They never hesitated to help or turned down a suggestion. It was great to be with them and feel so welcomed.

Sailing yacht BLUE VELVET is a 15.84m (52') crewed catamaran vessel, offering deluxe charter vacations in Greece. With accommodation spreading over 5 modern cabins, she is able to sleep up to 10 guests, while her crew ensures everyone has a pleasant and relaxing time on board.

The main deck aft offers a broad sunbed to port, with a C-shaped alfresco dining area to starboard that is sheltered by the flybridge overhang. Both hulls have steps leading down to the water for easy access to the tender as well as the sea.

The foredeck section in front of the helm station provides a U-shaped sunbed for lying back and resting in the sunshine or for use as a seating area with a foot well in the middle. Farther forward, the two net trampolines are likely to be a hit with children and they can also be used as an additional sunbathing area.

The flybridge above is shaded by the hardtop and provides sunbeds aft of the helm station as well as a place to sit and dine alfresco while taking in uninterrupted views of the surroundings.

BLUE VELVET Specifications

The accommodation is placed in the port and starboard hulls, with the central section dedicated to the shared guest area. The galley is placed to port and has an island counter that conceals a pop-up widescreen TV. The starboard side places a sofa with chaise-lounger arms into the aft corner, at the centre of which is a raised table for the full group to dine together. The forward section hosts the helm controls and the entire room is surrounded by windows for plenty of natural light and excellent views of the destination.

Twin Yanmar 4JH4-ATCESD diesel engines of 54 HP each provide propulsion during low wind conditions.

Yacht Charter Accommodation

The accommodation sleeps a maximum of 10 guests across 5 en-suite cabins, all of which are double cabins. ~ The port hull contains one double cabin forward and one aft, with the central section containing the crew accommodation. The starboard hull contains three double cabins - forward, centre and aft. All guest cabins come furnished with a queen-sized bed, TV entertainment, storage, a desk and an en-suite bathroom providing a toilet, sink and shower.

Blue Velvet 52 yacht is a 52.0 ft long sailboat catamaran, It was built by Lagoon in 2020. The yacht layout features 6 cabins and accommodates 10 guests. The cabin arrangement is following: 5 queen cabins, 1 twin cabin for the crew. The 52 marks a whole new era in the design of cruising catamarans, as indeed did its predecessor, the famed 500.

With its diamond-shaped vertical bows, beveled hulls, its as if levitated deckhouse and tall rig, the 52 is no ordinary catamaran, but its originality goes a great deal further than just its “outer” appearance, or even its interior layout.

This Lagoon is the result of lengthy discussions between the architects at Van Peteghem-Lauriot Prévost (VPLP), the Italian Nauta Design agency and the Lagoon design department. These discussions led us to make some important and sometimes radical choices, while remaining faithful to what we believe in, in terms of elegance, comfort, safety, user friendliness and, it goes without saying, performance under sail.

Advanced provisioning allowance (APA): the charterer is charged extra, at cost, for the charter expenses: fuel for the yacht, RIB or other tenders; food, soft drinks, wines, beers, spirits for the charterer, other consumable stores, berthing dues and other harbour charges away from the yacht's own berth, including pilotage fees and charges for water and electricity taken from the shore, laundry, telephone, fax or telex via radio or Inmarsat, as well as the hire costs of any special equipment placed on board at the request of the charterer. 25-40% APA is given to the yacht prior to the charter to allow the captain to buy fuel and provision the yacht as per the charterer's demands. At the end of the charter, the captain presents full accounts of all expenditure. The charterer is either refunded any money not used or asked to pay any additional costs not covered by the APA.

Panos was born in Mesologgi, Greece in 1968. He started sailing as a member of the Sailing Club of Patras. He has participated in various sailing races and has achieved many awards in national championships, among which are the Ionian and the Aegean Rally. At the age of 25, he had his own sailing boat which he fully refitted himself. The Blue Angels are scheduled to headline the Owensboro Air Show in Kentucky this weekend.

The Owensboro Air Show got its start in 2012 as part of the grand opening of the newly revitalized Smothers Park Riverfront. Since then, it’s become a signature community event that spotlights the military’s best demonstration teams and some of the world’s best civilian performers.

This year, the Owensboro Air Show will take place Friday through Sunday, featuring the Blue Angels , the F-35A Lightning demonstration team, Rob Holland and more. Here’s everything to know.

What time is the Owensboro Air Show?

The Owensboro Air Show starts on Friday and ends on Sunday. Here’s what time the show starts each day.

• Friday: 4-8 p.m.
• Saturday: 12:30-4 p.m.
• Sunday: 12:30-4 p.m.

Does the Owensboro Air Show have premium seating?

Yes, but reserved seating for the Saturday show is already sold out. Here is what is still available for Sunday:

• Jagoe Homes Exhibit Hall Terrace Seating - $180 for Reserved Table of eight (partially shaded)

Is the Owensboro Air Show free?

General admission for the Saturday and Sunday shows is free, but there is a $5 admission fee for Friday’s show.

Owensboro Air Show parking info

There is designated parking at the Owensboro Regional Airport for the Friday show, and remote parking at US Bank, located at 2800 Tamarack Road, with a free shuttle service that goes directly to the airport.

There will be parking available throughout downtown for the Saturday and Sunday shows. The majority of parking downtown is free, but private lots and garages will charge a fee.

Can I watch the Owensboro Air Show from a boat?

Yes, but there are a few things to know. The Ohio River and English Park boat ramps will be closed from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily from Thursday to Sunday.

The Ohio River will also be closed to boat traffic from English Park to Hamilton Avenue.

What should I bring to the Owensboro Air Show?

• Camp chairs and blankets

What items are prohibited at the Owensboro Air Show?

• No tents or canopies of any kind will be allowed within city parks. Structures of any kind will be required to be taken down. This will be strictly enforced.
• No taping or roping off of large areas will be allowed. This will be strictly enforced throughout the event area.
• No overnight camping is allowed in city parks or the overall event area.
• No glass bottles are allowed at the event site. Plastic containers, cans and food are permitted. No outside food or drink is permitted within the reserved seating at the Convention Center. There are also plenty of food and soft drink vendors to take care of any needs you may have.
• No alcoholic beverages allowed (unless purchased from a licensed downtown business).
• No grills are permitted in any of the viewing areas.
• No bikes, skateboards or skates are allowed in the event area. If you ride your bike to the air show, please be courteous and walk it through the event site for pedestrian safety.
• Please leave any pets at home (except for service animals).

Shhh! Ohtani chase kept quiet by design

Blue jays stay tightlipped in pursuit, while dodgers manager admits to their meeting.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Silence is golden and secrecy is sublime. 

Standing in the eye of the biggest, boldest pursuit in franchise history, the Blue Jays aren’t saying a word. Even the name “ Shohei Ohtani ” is spoken carefully, each syllable tiptoeing gently to the next. 

Don’t rock the boat. Don’t wake the baby.

The secrecy with which baseball’s brightest star lives his life has taken over his free agency, which is bubbling to a boil here at the Winter Meetings. Earlier this offseason, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported that it would be “held against” potential suitors if news leaked that he’d visited a specific team.

Well, it’s happening.

Every good drama has a shocking confession, and this one came from Dodgers manager Dave Roberts on Tuesday afternoon, admitting that he and members of Los Angeles’ front office had met with Ohtani in recent days. It all went very well, the veteran manager thought, and besides, the news would get out eventually.

“Clearly,” Roberts said, “ Shohei is our top priority .”

This was a wailing siren through the silence, because even following reports that Ohtani had toured Toronto’s training facilities in Dunedin, Fla., over the weekend, the Blue Jays refused to give that fire any oxygen, instead letting it live as a detail and nothing more.

Soon after Roberts dropped that nugget, though, Dodgers general manager Brandon Gomes stood before a throng of cameras -- less than 50 feet from Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins doing the same -- and struck a much different tone. Gomes acknowledged the comment made by his manager, said he was surprised that it was made and went no further. No comments on Ohtani, no comments on a meeting that may or may not have happened. 

That toothpaste isn’t going back in the tube.

Across the room, Atkins spoke vaguely, dancing in the shadows between questions. It’s the same approach he took Monday, when his in-person media availability was suddenly shifted to Zoom , where the GM was cryptic with details as he sat in front of a blank, white wall, refusing to answer where in the world he was. 

“Everything that we’re doing to make the team better, to the extent that we will keep private, we will do,” Atkins said. “Meetings that occur, don’t occur, I’m not going to get into the specifics of.”

It’s remarkable to watch this happen in real time, a big league GM sidestepping questions not as standard practice, but as an act of strategy that fans are suddenly praising. There’s an elephant in the room, but Atkins will not confirm whether elephants do or do not exist. 

“There’s an incredible amount of energy, an incredible amount of buzz around the game and around several potential opportunities, certainly one that is historic, potentially,” Atkins said.

Atkins is built for this game. He’s the Shohei Ohtani of secrecy.

The Blue Jays’ GM went as far as saying that they are “fortunate to be one that’s being considered,” but offered no details about the reported visit to the club’s player development complex over the weekend.

Manager John Schneider did the same, saying “we meet with lots of players” and sticking to the script throughout his media availability. When a reporter joked that Schneider looked tanned when asking about his whereabouts and involvement in said meeting, Schneider just cracked another smile.

“I live in Florida,” he said.

The logic and logistics of it all point toward a decision coming soon from Ohtani. The Blue Jays and Dodgers are clearly among the front-runners here, and while it’s unclear what impact Roberts’ revelation and recent reports will have on Ohtani’s decision, these two clubs are clearly involved in the final sprint. Others, including the Giants, Cubs and Angels, have also widely been linked to this historic chase. 

When this news breaks, the landscape of Major League Baseball will tilt in an instant. Until then, it’s one of the biggest secrets in baseball history and the Blue Jays aren’t making a sound.
