You’re in very safe hands with our skipper Peter Wiliamson who is a highly qualified RYA Commercial Yachtmaster with over 40 years at the helm, most of those along the South Devon and Cornish coastline so he really does know all the best secret spots.

Your Boat for the Day

Your boat will be our 40ft motor cruiser Intrigue that is coded by the Marine & Coastguard Agency (MCA) to the highest standard for this type of vessel to carry up to 12, so that’s 2 crew plus your group of up to 10 guests.

If the weather is hot and sunny you can bask in the sun on top of the loungers on our flybridge, put your feet up in the comfort of our cockpit or lay out a towel and sunbathe on the forward decks.

But don’t worry if the weather’s not so hot and sunny. We have a warm and comfortable saloon where your whole group can relax, eat and drink and enjoy the cruise just as much. Charter Prices

If you would like to get out on the water and see the city and beautiful surroundings, then an estuary cruise typically lasts up to 2 hours and costs between £195 and £295 depending on your group size and how much you would like to see.

A half day trip allows you to escape and do something a little different. You can choose the morning, afternoon or evening and you will be able to venture a little further than the local surroundings. You’ll also have time to stop off for lunch at either one of the area’s lovely waterside pubs, or bring along your own picnic to enjoy anchored in a quiet cove. For the full experience of your own private motor cruiser and crew for the day, you’ll be able to head down the coast for the day stopping off along the way and visiting one of coast’s wonderful towns. There are beaches where you can stop and relax, enjoying a few drinks or a swim as well as seeing parts of the coastline that most people will never get to experience. This really is a special day out that everybody in your group will enjoy, no matter how young or old there will be something for everyone. A full day trip typically lasts around 8 hours and the price will be between £795 and £995 depending on your group size and how much you would like to see and do.

About the RIB

“Quay Explorer” is a 6.5m XS RIB, coded by the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) which ensures it is equipped and maintained to the highest standard.

Specifications:

• Up to 6 people on board
• Modern and efficient 150HP Mercury Outboard Engine
• 110 litre fuel tank giving you a range of over 60 nautical miles, depending on conditions
• Chartplotter
• Adult lifejackets are provided free of charge to all passengers

Charter rates

A charterer must hold a valid RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate, be aged 25 or over, and complete an induction/handover with a Yacht Haven Quay member of staff.

Day charters commence at 0930 and the boat must be returned to Yacht Haven Quay, washed down and all personal belonging removed by 1700. Late returns will incur an hourly charge (see full terms and conditions for a current rate). Charters commence from and end at Yacht Haven Quay unless by special arrangement, and the RIB must not be operated in the hours of darkness. See full conditions

Terms & Conditions

A charter is subject to the Charterer signing and accepting the full Terms and Conditions (available on request), a refundable £1000 damage deposit, and providing two forms of identification including a utility bill or equivalent which shows a current full-time UK address.

Operation of “Quay Explorer” is limited to a line not west of Falmouth Marina, and not east of Kingswear. During the Charter Period, the Charterer is responsible for the safety and security of Quay Explorer at all times and will moor the vessel on a recognized deep water commercial visitor’s mooring or within a marina.

The vessel will commence the charter with a full fuel tank. All fuel usage is the responsibility of the Charterer; Yacht Haven Quay will refuel at the end of the charter and this will be charged at current published prices.
