5 New Superyachts to Look Out for in 2022

superyachts 2022

With the high demand for luxury vessels leading to a record-breaking number of new superyachts under construction, 2022 is looking to be a year full of boat debuts. With many projects set to reach important milestones, we are expecting lots of news from all the major shipyards. Here are 5 of the most exciting superyachts to look out for in 2022.

Feadship 1010

superyachts 2022

At 118m long, project 1010 interestingly marks Feadship’s largest vessel to date. Since the project’s announcement, the renowned shipbuilder is working towards a 2022 delivery. October 2020 saw the vessel hit the water for the first time when it was first launched in the Netherlands, but 2022 is when completion and delivery are scheduled. Although very little is known about the details of the superyacht, we expect to hear more as we enter the new year.

Oceanco Y721

new superyachts

Set to become the third 100+m sailing yacht in 2022 is Oceanco’s Y721. She will take Black Pearl’s title of the second-longest sailing yacht in the global fleet. When delivered, there will only be three sailing yachts measuring over 100m, with the biggest being Nobiskrug’s 142m Sailing Yacht A. Reportedly commissioned by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Y721 is the longest yacht ever built in the Netherlands. As well as this, it is also Oceanco’s largest-ever build.

Heesen Cosmos

Heesen Project Cosmos

After her Spring 2022 delivery, Heesen’s 80m superyacht Cosmos will be the biggest and fastest all-aluminium superyacht in the world. This is due to her maximum speed of 30 knots and 1,700GT. Cosmos features an exterior crafted by  Winch Design , which comprises clean lines, a sporty look and extensive use of glass, achieving a timeless profile. Expect to see her undertaking North Sea trials in early 2022 ahead of her delivery.

Lurssen Northern Star

superyachts 2022

Amongst the numerous projects under construction at Lurssen is Northern Star, a 107m explorer superyacht. Once delivered, she will be used to explore the farthest reaches of the globe. Northern Star (previously named Project Icecap) is a diesel-electric hybrid that accommodates up to 20 guests in 10 staterooms. She sports a rugged design by  Salt Ship Design and is due for delivery in 2022.

Amels Custom 78

superyachts 2022

With a gross tonnage of 2,850, once the Custom Amels 78m delivery is complete, she will be Amels’ largest vessel to date in terms of GT. The superyacht features exterior and interior design by Espen Øino and Zuretti Interior, respectively. Øino has stated it is “a unique project” which features a spacious, open-top deck, large aft pool, and wide side decks. She accommodates 14 guests in total whilst also housing 26 crew. The superyacht was recently spotted during her sea trials in September, ahead of her delivery in 2022.

The Superyacht Report in 2022

As we celebrate our 30th anniversary in 2022, we announce a series of important changes to our editorial portfolio….

Image for article The Superyacht Report in 2022

2022 will signal The Superyacht Group’s 30th anniversary, both a remarkable achievement for our Chairman, Martin Redmayne, and a landmark occasion for the industry as a whole. It is fair to say that The Superyacht Report, has, in its various guises, completely transformed the way this industry is reported, and its market dynamics analysed.   In line with the theme of transformation, and ahead of the Christmas period, we wanted to formally announce our editorial strategy for this milestone year in our company’s history.   Our flagship publication, The Superyacht Report, will officially be published as a quarterly moving forward. The report will retain its unrivalled level of insight, analysis and independent journalism. But the media landscape is undoubtedly evolving at a rapid rate, and while we want to maintain the impeccable standard of our reportage, we are also aware of the need to help catalyse the industry’s shift towards full digitisation.

We are transitioning, rather than making a wholesale switch, and as previously mentioned our four issues will comprise the following:   The Superyacht New Build Report 212

The industry’s definitive analysis of the new-build market returns! This will be our most in-depth assessment of the global new-build dynamic and presentation of proprietary forecasting of its future. This report remains the industry’s bible!

The Superyacht Operations Report 213

A unique combination of operational data and insight, published and distributed as the Mediterranean cruising season begins in earnest. All content is tailored to captains, managers, charter professionals and any stakeholder involved in the optimisation of a superyacht’s operation.

The Superyacht Owner Report 214

Our much-lauded guide to ownership best practice and diligent asset management returns. This report has established itself as a must-read for all prudent owners and their advisory teams. It is without compare!

The Superyacht Refit Report 215

The industry’s most active sector receives its own comprehensive report. This is unquestionably the only publicly-available source of robust refit market data modelling, accompanied as ever, by expert commentary from the sector’s leading C-suite executives and information on best practice.

Our decision to reduce the number of printed reports has not only been driven by media discourse; we as an industry talk at length about our commitment to sustainability, but there is little evidence to suggest that companies are wholly committed in their obligation to reduce waste. We are purposefully adjusting our business model to reduce our 0wn footprint, as a concerted step in the direction of a paperless future.   As such, we are also encouraging our subscribers to access their four editions of The Superyacht Report in 2022, as well as the industry’s most comprehensive archive of content, digitally, via SuperyachtNews.com. By signing up as an Essential Member for just £60 (offer valid until 31/12/21), all of this market-leading journalism and intelligence will remain instantly accessible digitally.   This shift in the number of reports will not diminish from the amount of content published next year. In fact, for the first time, The Superyacht Group will be periodically publishing a series of sector-specific and market-driven digital reports.   These will deliver succinct coverage of the most pertinent issues affecting key sectors, territories and elements of our industry, and will be published online, in the style of The Superyacht Report. They will be announced at key points during the year, but we are also interested to gauge the appetite of the industry for coverage of very specific topics and would welcome any suggestions, recommendations or ideas along these lines. They can be submitted by contacting [email protected] .

The Superyacht Group remains committed to its market-leading content, as well as continued innovation within the delivery of that content. We firmly believe this partial transition to a more digitally-focussed portfolio is the right move. And for those businesses and individuals interested in being part of this new era, please download our 2022 media pack , which provides more detailed information on these changes.

Insiders still have no idea what's going to happen to Russian oligarchs' seized superyachts

  • It's been two years since Russia invaded Ukraine, leading to sanctions against Russian oligarchs.
  • Many of their superyachts were seized or frozen , leading industry insiders to question their fate.
  • The yachts, some of which are worth hundreds of millions of dollars, remain in a state of limbo.

Insider Today

More than two years after Russia invaded Ukraine, the boating world still doesn't have many answers about what's going on with the very large, expensive elephants in the sea: oligarchs' superyachts .

The war prompted many governments to enact sanctions against Russia's richest , including seizing their superyachts worth hundreds of millions of dollars. But it's unclear whether they can be sold or who'd buy them, leaving ports peppered with massive boats stuck in a floating limbo.

"The Russian problem, it's becoming a bigger and bigger and bigger problem," one luxury yacht broker told Business Insider at the Palm Beach International Boat Show last week. Like many others, he requested not to be named, given the sensitive nature of the matter at hand and the generally discreet nature of the industry.

Russia has been a massive player in the massive boat market for a long time. In August 2021 — about six months before Russia's Ukraine invasion — Russians owned the second-largest share of yachts over 40 meters in length, according to a report from the industry publication SuperYacht Times.

They were responsible for 16% of new build superyacht purchases in the decade preceding the report and are known for splashing out on extravagant interiors and unique features. (One builder BI spoke to recalled a mandate from an oligarch for a large safe in the owner's cabin in which he could keep his rifles. The builder later learned he'd use them to skeet shoot on deck.)

But those sales have now screeched to a halt as oligarchs get hit by international sanctions. At least a dozen superyachts — worth well over $1 billion combined — have been affected.

And no one is quite sure what will happen to them.

Russia's sanctioned superyachts are hard to buy and sell

The first problem is that many of the yachts are "frozen" — not seized. That means that although the Russian owners can't operate or collect them, they don't technically belong to an overseas government, so they can't be sold without special permission.

Earlier this month, federal prosecutors petitioned a judge asking for consent to sell the Amadea, the 106-meter superyacht that has been docked in San Diego and costs the US as much as $922,000 a month to maintain.

"I've had some inquiries, but all you can tell them is we don't know the outcome yet" of the case, another superyacht broker told BI at the yacht show.

Related stories

And despite the broker's claim of interest in yachts like Amadea , most ultrarich — or at least their brokers — don't want to go near the vessels with a ten-foot pole, even if the government does get legal permission to sell them.

"How does it look if you bought a Russian boat?" Julia Simpson, a broker at Thompson of Monaco, said. "Even if it's completely legal and normal, there are too many things on the line," she said, like how the original owner got their money and whether that could make the new buyer look bad.

There are also possible legal implications, as it's hard for the government to prove who actually owns the yachts.

"Oligarchs typically structure their ownership of these high-value assets through a web of offshore shell companies and trusts that is designed to conceal the true owner," Joshua Naftalis, a former federal prosecutor who now works for Pallas Partners, told BI.

And if the government does assume ownership, it's highly dependent on court orders. For example, a Russian whose yacht had been seized by the French government regained access to his boat after winning a legal battle in 2022.

"It's a very difficult process to buy them," Ralph Dazert, the head of intelligence at SuperYacht Times, told BI. "There is a high risk of the former (Russian) owner suing you to get the boat back."

He pointed to the Alfa Nero, the 82-meter yacht that Eric Schmidt planned to purchase for $67 million last year in an auction put on by Antigua and Barbuda. He backed out after various parties tried to block the sale, likely deeming it not worth the legal headache.

"When the reason for sanctioning goes away, which it may do," the Russian owners will try to get their boats back , Simpson said. After all, "the government's not going to pay them."'

That said, if sanctions are dropped, the yachts will be worth much less than when they were seized, as a boat not in use deteriorates much faster than one sailing the seas.

"Those yachts need to be used to be kept in shape, kept in condition," the second broker said. "Just having them sit at the dock with a temporary crew on board is not good for the boats."

And the sanctioned Russians who have managed to maintain control of their superyachts won't have an easy time offloading them in the future.

Americans who try to do business with sanctioned oligarchs would have a number of hoops to jump through — like finding a bank to process the purchase, which would be next to impossible. If somehow they did and the government caught wind, they'd face hefty penalties and the transaction would be void.

So Russia's richest have found themselves "stuck" sailing in a select few countries that will let them, like the Maldives, Montenegro, and Dubai.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs' son accused of groping female steward on luxury charter yacht

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

Sean "Diddy" Combs and his son Christian "King" Combs are co-defendants in a sexual assault lawsuit.

The plaintiff claims Christian assaulted her on a yacht chartered by his father in December 2022.

Aaron Dyer, attorney for Sean and Christian Combs, discredited the lawsuit as "lewd and meritless."

Music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs is once again entangled in legal problems related to sex crimes, AP reports .

Sean Combs, who is the subject of a federal sex trafficking investigation, has been named as a co-defendant in a new lawsuit accusing his son of sexual assault .

The plaintiff, Grace O'Marcaigh, filed a lawsuit against Sean Combs and his son, rapper Christian "King" Combs.

In the suit, she alleges that Christian Combs assaulted her on a yacht chartered by his father in December 2022.

O'Marcaigh was working on Victorious, a luxury superyacht built by Akyacht and owned and operated by Fraser.

The 278-foot superyacht sleeps 12 guests and can be chartered for $950,000 a week during the winter season when the $117 million vessel cruises the Caribbean and The Bahamas.

Christian Combs was 24 at the time, and his accuser was 25.

O'Marcaigh's attorneys filed the suit on Thursday in the Los Angeles Superior Court.

The lawsuit, reviewed by BI, states that O'Marcaigh worked as a steward in the yachting industry since 2018.

It states her planned career in hospitality and the yachting industry was derailed due to the "trauma" she has suffered as a result of the alleged assault.

The suit accuses the defendants of assault, battery, sexual assault, premises liability, aiding and abetting, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligent infliction of emotional distress.

Aaron Dyer, attorney for Sean and Christian Combs, discredited the lawsuit as "lewd and meritless" and said they would be "filing a motion to dismiss this outrageous claim."

Sean Combs leased the yacht in December 2022 and fully controlled the vessel's staff, including O'Marcaigh, said the suit.

During one shift, O'Marcaigh waited on Christian Combs, who she suspected was "intoxicated from a mixture of narcotics and alcohol."

He reportedly became "aggressive" and violently grabbed her arm and began hurting her.

Christian Combs' "penis was erect, and he grabbed her arms"

The suit claims O'Marcaigh was then drugged and sexually assaulted by Christian Combs.

Producer Rodney Jones obtained an audio recording of the incident.

A transcript of the recording is included in the document, indicating that O'Marcaigh attempted to leave the situation as Christian Combs forced her to take tequila shots.

"I'm going to stop. Stop. I have to go. I have to go. Honestly, I'm like already losing sleep. I have to go now," said O'Marcaigh, per the transcript.

Later in the interaction, she asked him to stop touching her inappropriately: "Excuse me, you don't touch my legs like that. I'll move my legs where I want to."

At another point, she told the music mogul's son to "take your hand off my ass."

O'Marcaigh fought Christian Combs off when he stripped down and tried to force her into a nonconsensual sex act.

Christian Combs' "penis was erect, and he grabbed her arms," trying to force O'Marcaigh to "perform oral sex on him," the suit states.

The document shows photos of the injuries O'Marcaigh sustained during the altercation, including bruises on her arms.

The suit accuses Sean Combs of intentionally failing to ensure a safe environment on the yacht. It alleges he allowed his son to "behave carelessly" as he "observed and mimicked his actions."

The allegations against Christian Combs follow a slew of sexual misconduct allegations and lawsuits against his father .

"The apple does not fall far from the tree," reads the lawsuit.

Business Insider contacted the Los Angeles County Superior Court for more information.

Sean Combs’ son Christian accused of sexual assault on yacht that Diddy chartered

This story contains a description of an alleged sexual assault.

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been named in another civil lawsuit, this time by a woman alleging that his son Christian “King” Combs sexually assaulted her aboard a superyacht the Bad Boy Entertainment co-founder chartered in late 2022.

But the Combs team dismissed it as “just another lewd and meritless claim” by the woman’s attorney, Tyrone A. Blackburn, that is “filled with the same kind of manufactured lies and irrelevant facts” they say they have come to expect from the New York-based lawyer.

In the new lawsuit, filed Thursday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Grace O’Marcaigh added her name to the list of people accusing the embattled business mogul of wrongdoing while he faces a federal probe into sex-trafficking allegations. O’Marcaigh, who worked as a steward on the Victorious ship, alleged that 26-year-old rapper Christian Combs drugged and sexually assaulted her in late December 2022 aboard the charter boat, which Diddy “sold as a wholesome family excursion” but allegedly devolved into a “hedonistic environment.”

O’Marcaigh, who was 25 around the time of the alleged incident, provided dinner and drink service on the yacht from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The bartender also said she witnessed partying and drug use between a “constant rotation of suspected sex workers and other A-List celebrities,” according to the filing reviewed by The Times.

Music mogul and rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who’s facing multiple lawsuits, is the subject of a sweeping sex trafficking probe that resulted in a federal raid of his L.A. and Miami homes.

March 28, 2024

O’Marcaigh is accusing Christian Combs, one of Diddy’s children with the late model Kim Porter , of sexual assault, sexual harassment and infliction of emotional distress in the lawsuit, which seeks unspecified damages and a jury trial. Diddy, 54, who is named as a co-defendant, is being sued for premises liability as the person who leased the yacht and “had full control of the staff and premises” and for aiding and abetting his son in the alleged assault. O’Marcaigh accused him of orchestrating a “subsequent coverup” of her alleged assault that ultimately resulted in her termination in May 2023.

She claimed that Diddy allowed “unwanted exposure to unlawful drug use, sex work, and general chaos” and “created an extremely hazardous environment” in which staff was often “treated with disrespect, suspected sex workers were sprawled out unconscious about the yacht, and it was difficult to distinguish which bottles of alcohol were laced with drugs and which bottles were not.” She described women aboard the yacht “falling over themselves, panicking, or passing out” after one shot of tequila or one mixed drink, which she believed were “likely laced with drugs.”

The complaint was filed by Blackburn, the lawyer who is also representing Diddy’s former “Love” album producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones in a sexual harassment and assault case brought against the Grammy Award winner, his son Justin “Dior” Combs, Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr. and other members of Diddy’s inner circle . (O’Marcaigh, in her complaint, described Jones as “an extended member of the service staff” who spent time with her at the service bar and piano room on the yacht.)

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ ex slams feds, posts dramatic video of L.A. raid where his sons were detained

Misa Hylton, mother of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ son Justin Dior Combs, accused federal agents of racism when they detained him at his father’s L.A. mansion.

April 2, 2024

She also made several other allegations about illicit behavior by Diddy and Gooding, whom she said she witnessed “inappropriately touching” Jones, as was alleged in Jones’ lawsuit.

“Like father, like son,” Blackburn said in a statement to NBC News , which first reported on the new lawsuit. “It gives us no joy or pleasure in filing this suit against Christian Combs, who has clearly adopted his father’s pattern and practice of depravity.”

“As long as sexual harassment and assault continues to happen, and as long as people out there still think it is even slightly okay, or can get away with it because of their celebrity, then everyone is still in danger of this happening to them,” added Blackburn’s fellow filing attorney Tyrone S. Diggs. “I am here to fight for those who can’t fight for themselves and I applaud Grace for being so brave to come forward with her truth. “

However, the Combs team kept its focus squarely on Blackburn.

“This is just another lewd and meritless claim from Tyrone Blackburn — just like what he filed in the Rodney Jones lawsuit, which he still has not served,” said attorney Aaron Dyer, who represents both Sean and Christian Combs.

“This is exactly why the federal judge in New York slapped [Blackburn] two days ago for a ‘pattern of behavior’ in ‘improperly [filing] cases in federal court to garner media attention, embarrass defendants with salacious allegations, and pressure defendants to settle quickly,’ ” he added, “and why he was referred to the disciplinary committee in the Southern District of New York. We will be filing a motion to dismiss this outrageous claim.”

In the past, Diddy has denied wrongdoing and vowed to fight the lawsuits. Four women, including ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura , have sued him since last November, alleging sexual assault.

O’Marcaigh, who is described in court documents as “a European Caucasian female who worked as a Stewardess in the Yachting Industry since 2018,” said she planned to work the entirety of her career in hospitality and the yachting industry but, as stated in her complaint, “those plans have been derailed due to the trauma [she] continues to have as a result of the assault.”

In the wake of multiple lawsuits filed against him, former members of Combs’ inner circle told The Times that his alleged misconduct against women goes back decades.

Dec. 13, 2023

On or around Dec. 28, 2022 — days before Diddy hosted a star-studded New Year’s Eve party aboard the ship , which was at sea — O’Marcaigh said that she worked the late shift on the yacht when Christian Combs, who usually stayed at a nearby villa on shore, came aboard “heavily intoxicated” from what O’Marcaigh believed was “a mixture of narcotics and alcohol.”

While she was serving drinks in the studio, where Jones also was present that night, Christian was being “particularly attentive with her, which she considered very inappropriate.” Christian then insisted that O’Marcaigh take a shot of tequila, which she believed he had spiked. She said in the filing that she “felt comfortable” knowing that Mr. Jones was present and “didn’t think anything more of it,” assuming she could return to her work elsewhere on the yacht after the drink. But when she took the shot, she said, the “mood changed” and things “became sinister.”

O’Marcaigh described Christian violently grabbing her arm and hurting her as he insisted that she take another shot. After that, “the situation escalated” and she described being physically assaulted by Christian, whom she alleged touched her legs, breasts, anus and vagina, and who also tried to kiss her on the neck, face and hands.

She said the timeline then became “very blurry and vague.”

But because O’Marcaigh said Diddy insisted on “Mr. Jones recording everything,” Lil Rod obtained an audio recording of the alleged incident. The recording was submitted as an exhibit in O’Marcaigh’s case.

In a transcript of the recording that was included in the complaint to describe the alleged incident, O’Marcaigh tries to leave but Christian does not let her. She tells him not to touch her legs or backside.

After she left, the complaint said, Christian later found her, refused to go back to shore and “demanded that she find him a place to sleep on the yacht.”

A timeline of allegations against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs

Hip-hop mogul and entrepreneur Diddy has been accused of physical and sexual violence dating back to 1990. Here’s a timeline of the allegations.

March 26, 2024

O’Marcaigh went with him to the cinema, which was commonly used as an extra sleeping area, and he allegedly blocked her from exiting. She described Christian getting “physical and extremely aggressive,” cornering her and allegedly groping her despite her pushing back. He allegedly removed his clothes, exposed his erect penis and physically tried to force her to perform oral sex on him. She began fighting him, and then one of her colleagues entered the cinema, startling Christian. O’Marcaigh was able to leave.

She said she was “seriously bruised as a result of the attack,” that she did not consent to any of the sexual assault or misconduct, and that she was drugged and intoxicated by Christian. Images of her bruising were also included in the complaint.

O’Marcaigh said she complained to the yacht captain the next morning but alleged that he “berated [her and] lacked compassion or concern, failed to investigate, and insisted that [she] was probably voluntarily partying with the guests.” (She said she was not.)

After the incident, O’Marcaigh said, she was assigned to work the “front of the house,” which required her to personally serve Christian Combs while he was aboard the yacht. She also alleged that the captain “received a generous tip” from Diddy to keep him “quiet and from protecting [O’Marcaigh] or taking action on her behalf.”

She alleged that Diddy “fostered and encouraged an environment of debauchery” and “did not have any safeguards in place to ensure there was no excessive drug use, no excessive drinking, and no importation of purported sex workers.”

Where is Diddy? Sean Combs remains in U.S. amid widening sex trafficking probe, sources say

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs remains in the United States and vows to fight sex trafficking allegations, sources close to the music legend said.

March 27, 2024

“He intentionally created an unsafe environment that gave license to [Christian Combs] and his friends to believe that he was free to sexually assault [O’Marcaigh]” and allowed him and his friends “to behave carelessly, as they observed and mimicked his actions.”

O’Marcaigh said that the alleged assault deeply impacted her mental health, as well as her professional and personal life. She alleged that as a result of the alleged attack, her mental health deteriorated, she experienced anxiety and panic attacks and had severe suicidal ideations, the lawsuit said. She claimed the emotional strain also affected her physical health and that she developed an eating disorder and epileptic seizures after the incident.

In an unrelated action, Blackburn was chastised in a Wednesday court filing by New York Judge Denise Cote and referred to the grievance committee for the Southern District of New York after receiving repeated admonishments from another judge in a separate case. The attorney, known for his cases against celebrities, has brought lawsuits against rappers Nicki Minaj, T.I. and his wife Tiny, and comedian Tiffany Haddish.

Diggs said of the new lawsuit, “This case, just like others, should be viewed on the merits and not against other attorneys as a means of distraction.”

Superyacht Concepts that Wow’ed Us in 2022

By George Bains

Every year there is always an array of staggering, and often quite outrageous, superyacht concepts released that test then boundaries of possibility. Always excited by new interpretations of the yachting experience, we pick out some of our favourite concepts to have covered in 2022…

Vitruvius Yachts’ Ultimate Explorer Concept

Philippe Briand’s Vitruvius Yachts revealed its new 80-metre, go-anywhere superyacht concept .

With the design following closely in the footsteps of Vitruvius’ 54.9-metre Shinkai – built by Feadship in the Netherlands and delivered in 2021 – this new explorer is notable for its long aft deck which is ideal for storing a generous toy collection or even a helipad.

Designed to satisfy the most active and adventurous of owners, the explorer boasts a vast beach club and health centre below deck, enabling direct and convenient access to the sea for water sports.

With performance and onboard comfort key to the new explorer vessel – she is expected to reach a top speed of 19 knots and cruise with ease at 14 knots – special care has also been given to controlling any rolling motions on board – a trait which is also key for ease of launching her onboard toys such as submarines. Furthermore, the addition of gyro/fin stabilisers is also in consideration for the vessel.

Finally, owners can also decide to choose an observatory option for the expedition superyacht, which would provide a 22-square metre space to bring those on board even closer to the beauties of the night sky, wherever they might find themselves in the world.

Feadship Unveils 85m SLICE at MYS 22

During the Monaco Yacht Show, Feadship unveiled 85m superyacht concept – SLICE .

In an attempt to reflect the desires of the current superyacht clientele, combined with the innovative design flair of Studio De Voogt, Feadship's new 85m concept has been described by the Dutch yard as, ‘reimagining ways to bring natural light into a yacht’s interior’, alongside, ‘integrating the interior and exterior in bold new ways’.

Soon to become Feadship’s 11th innovative superyacht concept, 85m Slice takes inspiration from her predecessors. With a ‘sculptural exterior philosophy’ from the yard’s 2021 81.75m concept ‘Pure’, Slice’s exterior profile goes further: lengthening and wrapping around a brand-new interior to create an array of unique spaces for guests onboard. A previous and ‘predictable’ flow of space has been long-forgotten, with the yard now focusing on a fresh approach to the yachting lifestyle, evidenced through Slice’s 110m2 multilevel pool deck aft.

Nobiskrug and Tillberg’s 77m LYCKA

Nobiskrug teamed up with Tillberg Design of Sweden to release 77m “happiness” concept LYCKA . Unveiled at Palm Beach International Boat Show, this unique vessel aims to create a true “home from home” experience for all on-board.

Lycka has been thoughtfully designed and engineered to embrace the latest ground-breaking technologies, whilst also offering a simplistic, luxurious, customisable interior, equipped for active, adventurous owners.

Its spacious, open plan design is complimented by large high windows and folding balconies, allowing a seamless blend of both the interior and exterior, creating a sense of indoor living – outdoors. The perfect space for a warm, open salon and a formal dining area.

Bhushan Powar Shares 110m ZION

One concept with unconventional at its core is 110m ZION , released by award-winning Indian yacht design studio Bhushan Powar.

Zion's design takes inspiration from the vastness and phenomenon of the universe, with our attention immediately drawn to her main highlight, the "glass eye" viewing dome that can be likened to a black hole, allowing guests an uninterrupted 360 degree of the water.

"Nature is the guiding principle for the design of everything that surrounds us," said Powar. "We look for something in it that allows us to define ourselves."

Zion can host a maximum of 20 guests across the span of 10 elegant staterooms, accompanied by a dedicated luxurious master suite on the Main Deck. Guests within the master suite can indulge in electronically operated sky lounge balconies on either side for private use, allowing for an intimate space and alternative viewing platform. In terms of crew, she can accommodate up to 20 members onboard.

Lazzarini’s €500million concept SOVRANO

From unconventional to wild, Lazzarini’s 169m concept SOVRANO certainly reimagines life on the water.

Sovrano has been likened to a hybrid of sorts; a mixture of both a private venture and a cruise ship. Spanning 5 decks and defined by a three-storey well cut into the foredeck, this magnificent space acts as an atrium from within the vessel, beckoning guests to lounge in its enormous swimming pool and garden area beneath.

Her twin helipads sit either side of the wheelhouse, almost resembling wings as they extend her beam from 22 to 33 metres; in turn making her the widest superyacht in the world. The space is also perfect to act as a platform for a pool, and can be winched to water level.

Sovrano also has an area designed specifically to load and unload vehicles, with a garage that can house 6 supercars and a wide range of tenders, all of which can be launched directly from the garage. Built from a combination of steel and carbon fibre composites, Sovrano is also powered by a fully-electric propulsion system delivering a top speed of 31 knots.

Although a buyer has not yet been found, a Lazzarini spokesperson Cinzia Rugerri revealed: "We estimate a €500million budget and four years for the construction."
