The lower deck swim platform is large enough for sunbathing beside the water or spreading out with the water toys. Staircases lead to the main deck aft where there is a sofa along the stern and an alfresco dining table and eight chairs placed beneath the shade of the upper deck overhang along with a fridge, grill and projector screen.
Side walkways lead around to the forward-facing C-shaped seating area placed around a large oval table, and from the main deck aft a port-side staircase connects to the upper deck aft, where there is a more intimate dining area consisting of a circular table and four chairs.
A starboard staircase leads up to the flybridge. The stern is lined with a C-shaped sofa and a sun umbrella is available to provide shade. Sunbeds can be found in the amidships area and forward to port is an L-shaped seating area with an L-shaped table for casual dining and drinks from the starboard barbeque, fridge and forward wet bar.
The lower deck places the guest accommodation amidships and forward, leaving room to the aft for the crew accommodation. On the main deck, the country galley is placed forward and guests have a C-shaped sofa with two raised tables for dining together, or a breakfast bar for quick meals and snacks. A forward starboard staircase gives access to the bow cabin below, while the rest of the guest accommodation is accessed via the starboard staircase amidships.
In the main salon there is a forward formal dining area where up to eight guests can savour a professionally prepared meal around the circular table, with drinks prepared at the wet bar to starboard while the piano gives live entertainment. After dinner, guests can rest on the aft port L-shaped sofa or armchair placed around a coffee table for conversation or a film on the widescreen TV in the aft starboard corner.

With graceful curves and classic styling, the 124-foot semi-displacement composite tri-deck megayacht SCOTT FREE features a 25-foot, 10-inch beam and a shallow draft of 6 feet, making her the perfect vessel for travel as well as enjoyment while docked in the world’s most beautiful harbors. She carries Detroit Diesel 16V-92TA engines to give her a cruising speed of 16 knots and a maximum speed of 20 knots, rendering her highly efficient as well as formidably seaworthy.
In addition to her naval architecture and exterior styling, the Delta Design Group created her exceptionally pleasing interior design. A very clean, light, and practical look was emphasized throughout her spaces by a delightful use of steamed beech and maple burl woods. A handsome use of teak on the upper deck provides visual interest, and adds to the casually elegant impact that was integral in her design brief.
SCOTT FREE provides accommodations for six people in three staterooms, including a full-width master suite and head. Her main salon with formal dining area is part of her warm and welcoming main deck. One of the interior design’s “practical novelties” is the exercise room forward on the main deck—it has the capability of converting to a fourth double stateroom if her owners want to welcome additional guests while traveling. Marble in the heads incorporates intricate water-jet inlay designs that are carried through from the patterns in the textiles used in her decor. Her impressive marble work is book-matched and vein-matched around the walls.
Inside the spacious sky lounge with teak and maple flooring is a generous entertainment area aft on the boat deck. Forward, an equally spacious bridge provides plenty of seating for al fresco enjoyment during the day as well as elegant gatherings under the stars. Additional entertaining and sunning spaces can be found on the flybridge, where celebrating the outdoors is always on the agenda. The creative use of entertaining and living space throughout SCOTT FREE allows for maximum enjoyment for her owners and guests—she’s a truly luxurious haven on the water.

Most expenses are deducted from an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), a fund that is added on top of the charter price. The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption). You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled). The remainder of the APA is returned after charter.">Price Terms: Plus Expenses

Cruising the Moskva River: A short guide to boat trips in Russia’s capital
There’s hardly a better way to absorb Moscow’s atmosphere than on a ship sailing up and down the Moskva River. While complicated ticketing, loud music and chilling winds might dampen the anticipated fun, this checklist will help you to enjoy the scenic views and not fall into common tourist traps.
How to find the right boat?
There are plenty of boats and selecting the right one might be challenging. The size of the boat should be your main criteria.
Plenty of small boats cruise the Moskva River, and the most vivid one is this yellow Lay’s-branded boat. Everyone who has ever visited Moscow probably has seen it.
This option might leave a passenger disembarking partially deaf as the merciless Russian pop music blasts onboard. A free spirit, however, will find partying on such a vessel to be an unforgettable and authentic experience that’s almost a metaphor for life in modern Russia: too loud, and sometimes too welcoming. Tickets start at $13 (800 rubles) per person.
Bigger boats offer smoother sailing and tend to attract foreign visitors because of their distinct Soviet aura. Indeed, many of the older vessels must have seen better days. They are still afloat, however, and getting aboard is a unique ‘cultural’ experience. Sometimes the crew might offer lunch or dinner to passengers, but this option must be purchased with the ticket. Here is one such option offering dinner for $24 (1,490 rubles).
If you want to travel in style, consider Flotilla Radisson. These large, modern vessels are quite posh, with a cozy restaurant and an attentive crew at your service. Even though the selection of wines and food is modest, these vessels are still much better than other boats.
Surprisingly, the luxurious boats are priced rather modestly, and a single ticket goes for $17-$32 (1,100-2,000 rubles); also expect a reasonable restaurant bill on top.
How to buy tickets?
Women holding photos of ships promise huge discounts to “the young and beautiful,” and give personal invitations for river tours. They sound and look nice, but there’s a small catch: their ticket prices are usually more than those purchased online.
“We bought tickets from street hawkers for 900 rubles each, only to later discover that the other passengers bought their tickets twice as cheap!” wrote (in Russian) a disappointed Rostislav on a travel company website.
Nevertheless, buying from street hawkers has one considerable advantage: they personally escort you to the vessel so that you don’t waste time looking for the boat on your own.
Prices start at $13 (800 rubles) for one ride, and for an additional $6.5 (400 rubles) you can purchase an unlimited number of tours on the same boat on any given day.
Flotilla Radisson has official ticket offices at Gorky Park and Hotel Ukraine, but they’re often sold out.
Buying online is an option that might save some cash. Websites such as this offer considerable discounts for tickets sold online. On a busy Friday night an online purchase might be the only chance to get a ticket on a Flotilla Radisson boat.
This website (in Russian) offers multiple options for short river cruises in and around the city center, including offbeat options such as ‘disco cruises’ and ‘children cruises.’ This other website sells tickets online, but doesn’t have an English version. The interface is intuitive, however.
Buying tickets online has its bad points, however. The most common is confusing which pier you should go to and missing your river tour.
“I once bought tickets online to save with the discount that the website offered,” said Igor Shvarkin from Moscow. “The pier was initially marked as ‘Park Kultury,’ but when I arrived it wasn’t easy to find my boat because there were too many there. My guests had to walk a considerable distance before I finally found the vessel that accepted my tickets purchased online,” said the man.
There are two main boarding piers in the city center: Hotel Ukraine and Park Kultury . Always take note of your particular berth when buying tickets online.
Where to sit onboard?
Even on a warm day, the headwind might be chilly for passengers on deck. Make sure you have warm clothes, or that the crew has blankets ready upon request.
The glass-encased hold makes the tour much more comfortable, but not at the expense of having an enjoyable experience.
Getting off the boat requires preparation as well. Ideally, you should be able to disembark on any pier along the way. In reality, passengers never know where the boat’s captain will make the next stop. Street hawkers often tell passengers in advance where they’ll be able to disembark. If you buy tickets online then you’ll have to research it yourself.
There’s a chance that the captain won’t make any stops at all and will take you back to where the tour began, which is the case with Flotilla Radisson. The safest option is to automatically expect that you’ll return to the pier where you started.

Baltimore bridge collapse: Could it happen in Michigan?
The collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge , a span over a crucial East Coast shipping lane, after a cargo ship accidentally struck it early Tuesday, prompted a massive search attempt in the dark to find and pull victims out of the chilly water.
As the rescue teams searched for six people, the horrific collapse — which sent several vehicles into the Patapsco River — has been a sobering reminder to officials and motorists everywhere, especially Michigan, of the importance of bridge and waterway safety, something often taken for granted.
By Tuesday evening, however, the massive search operation that included divers, boats and helicopters was suspended for the construction workers who were fixing Key Bridge potholes when the structure was struck. The six missing, were reportedly presumed dead.
Two people, however, had been rescued, and motorists may have been saved because a distress call from the ship that hit the bridge, giving fast-acting authorities some time to react and limit vehicle traffic from crossing the bridge.
In Michigan — where even the state motto translated from Latin is "If you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you" and evokes images of water — bridges are essential, connecting parts of the state while also allowing ships to move goods and raw materials nationwide.
Moreover, the state has faced close calls with ships and has had at least one a fatality decades ago, when a small car went over the edge of the Mackinac Bridge, the longest suspension bridge in the Western Hemisphere .
Michigan's Department of Transportation said it is far too early to speculate on how at risk Michigan is to a similar disaster, in part, because the investigation in Maryland into the reasons the cargo ship steered off course and hit the bridge is just beginning.
First responders, however, said they are ready to rescue people if such a tragedy strikes here.
"We are prepared for that," Michigan State Police Lt. Mike Shaw told the Free Press said of the kind of disaster that first responders in Maryland are facing. "We do have a marine services team that works with the Coast Guard, especially if something goes into the water off Belle Isle."
The best thing Michigan motorists can do to be safe, Shaw said, is to slow down.
Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott called the collapse, at about 1:30 a.m., an "unthinkable tragedy," the Associated Press reported . The mayor said that of all the things to imagine that could happen, "you would see, physically see, the Key Bridge tumble down like that."
Scott described the collision — caught and replayed on video — as something "out of an action movie."
Michigan's aging bridges
Michigan, like many states, is one that has been wrestling with aging roadway infrastructure, including overpass bridges , that construction workers are seeking to fix, especially as the chances of snow diminish and the temperatures warm up.
In 2019, the Free Press found more than one in 10 bridges in Michigan are in poor condition , and fixing them at the current pace could take nearly 100 years. The year before, the Free Press reported, there were more than 500 bridges across Michigan in poor condition that posted vehicle weight limits.
More: Michigan’s bridges are bad — and a fix could take nearly a century
Some in Michigan also remember 1989, when Leslie Pluhar plunged off the Mackinac Bridge , which connects the state's two largest peninsulas, and died. The investigation could not conclude whether 48-mph wind gusts on the bridge or Pluhar's speed caused her to lose control of her vehicle.
Pluhar, of Royal Oak, veered onto a 4-inch-high median, careened across bridge lanes, hit a curb and jumped a guard rail, going over the edge and into the Straits of Mackinac. It took police divers eight days to find the 31-year-old's mangled Yugo, a small car no longer made, which was resting in waters 152 feet deep.
In addition, WWJ-AM (950) reported that the Mighty Mac has been hit by ships at least three times: in 1968, by a freighter in fog, in 2021, by a 30-foot vessel which caused several crew injuries, and in 2023, by a barge that was being towed.
In each of these cases, there was no structural damage to the bridge.
In Florida, another peninsula, the Key Bridge tragedy brought back memories of a the fatal disaster of the Sunshine Skyway in 1980, when a freighter hit the structure, causing a 1,200-foot span to collapse, sending several cars and a Greyhound bus into Tampa Bay, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported .
One car, miraculously stopped just inches from the edge of the bridge.
The collapse was the second of two major maritime disasters involving the bridge in 1980, the first, when a Coast Guard cutter collided with a tanker, and the cutter sank, killing 23 aboard. In the second, a freighter collided with a support pier during a storm.
In that incident, the bridge collapse killed 35 more people.

A warning before collapse
In Maryland, reports say the cargo ship lost power, and then issued a mayday call moments before it crashed into the bridge. The warning, Maryland's governor said, allowed authorities to stop some vehicle traffic, and potentially avert more harm.
There, reports said, the river temperature was 47 degrees.
It was unclear Tuesday how the bridge collapse in Maryland will affect shipping.
The Baltimore port's terminals ship more cars and light trucks, including some exports for General Motors, than any other in America, as well as handling other goods, such as sugar, gypsum, and coal, according to Reuters news service.
The Dali reportedly hit one of the bridge pillars and has been identified as Singapore-flagged, registered to Grace Ocean Pte Ltd., according to Reuters. The manager is Synergy Marine Group. And, the news service reported, Synergy said the ship's crew members are accounted for with no reports of injury.
The container ship was chartered by Maersk, a Danish shipping company.
The bridge, a steel arch-shaped continuous through truss bridge, was initially known as the Outer Harbor Crossing, until it opened in 1977 and was renamed for the writer of "The Star-Spangled Banner," and the Patapsco River, connects to the Port of Baltimore, which is an East Coast shipping hub.
In a midafternoon address, President Joe Biden said that the federal government would pay to rebuild the Key Bridge, and it should be opened as soon as possible. The president called on Congress to support his plans, but added that the priority was to find the missing workers.
But by late Tuesday, authorities were transitioning from a rescue to recovery mission.

The Dali was less than 30 minutes into its planned 27-day journey when the ship ran into the Francis Scott Key Bridge on Tuesday.
The ship, which was sailing under the Singaporean flag, was on its way to Sri Lanka and was supposed to arrive there on April 22, according to VesselFinder, a ship tracking website.
The Dali, which is nearly 1,000 feet long, left the Baltimore port around 1 a.m. Eastern on Tuesday. The ship had two pilots onboard, according to a statement by its owners, Grace Ocean Investment. There were 22 crew members on board, the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore said in a statement. There were no reports of any injuries, Grace Ocean said.
Before heading off on its voyage, the Dali had returned to the United States from Panama on March 19, harboring in New York. It then arrived on Saturday in Baltimore, where it spent two days in the port.
Maersk, the shipping giant, said in a statement on Tuesday that it had chartered the vessel, which was carrying Maersk cargo. No Maersk crew and personnel were onboard, the statement said, adding that the company was monitoring the investigations being carried out by the authorities and by Synergy Group, the company that was operating the vessel.
“We are horrified by what has happened in Baltimore, and our thoughts are with all of those affected,” the Maersk statement said.
The Dali was built in 2015 by the South Korea-based Hyundai Heavy Industries. The following year, the ship was involved in a minor incident when it hit a stone wall at the port of Antwerp . The Dali sustained damage at the time, but no one was injured.

Francis Scott Key Bridge reconstruction should be paid for by federal government, Biden says
By Kaia Hubbard , Kathryn Watson , Caitlin Yilek
Updated on: March 26, 2024 / 7:46 PM EDT / CBS News
Washington — President Biden said Tuesday that he believes the federal government should pay for the entire cost of the reconstruction of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, which collapsed when a container ship crashed into it earlier Tuesday.
"It is my intention that the federal government will pay for the entire cost of reconstructing that bridge, and I expect the Congress to support my effort," Mr. Biden said in remarks from the White House, adding that he plans to visit Baltimore as soon as he can.
"To the people of Baltimore, I want to say, we're with you," the president also said. "We're going to stay with you as long as it takes."
Sen. Chris Van Hollen, a Maryland Democrat, said Mr. Biden has "pledged the full support of the federal government." Hollen said it's a top priority to clear the channel under the bridge because thousands of jobs are "immediately at stake," which could have a ripple effect on the wider economy.
"We need to get that channel cleared. And then, of course, replacing the bridge will come next and we're going to have to work very hard to get those resources put together to do the job," he said on CBS News' "America Decides." "So number one, search and rescue. Number two, clear the channel, reopen the port. Number three, rebuild the bridge."
About 35,000 people cross the bridge in a day to get to and from Baltimore, and workers at the port earn about $2 million in wages each day, Van Hollen said.
The diversion of car traffic will have an impact, "but the larger economic impact, at least in the coming months, will be that Port of Baltimore. As long as ships cannot get in and out, it will have a harmful impact on jobs there."
Van Hollen said it was too early to put a price tag on what it will cost to replace the bridge, and he called on Congress to work together to quickly provide the resources.
Federal authorities said Tuesday that they don't believe the crash was an intentional act, adding that there is no evidence the incident was connected to terrorism.
Federal and state officials, including from the National Transportation Safety Board, are continuing their investigations, and search and rescue efforts are underway since the collapse sent vehicles and people into the water.
"There is no specific or credible information to suggest there are ties to terrorism in this incident," said William J. DelBagno, the special agent in charge of the FBI's Baltimore field office , during a press conference Tuesday morning.
NTSB chair Jennifer Homendy said Tuesday afternoon that the agency is leading the investigation, noting that search and rescue was still underway and that the focus remains on the people and families.
"The rest can wait," Homendy said, noting that there wasn't a lot of information she could share at the time.
The Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday after a large container ship hit a supporting column.
The bridge spans 1.6 miles across the Patapsco River in the Port of Baltimore and was built in the 1970s. The bridge gets its name from Francis Scott Key, the author of "The Star-Spangled Banner."
Tuesday's collapse came after the Singapore-flagged cargo vessel "lost propulsion" and hit a supporting tower of the bridge, according to an unclassified Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency memo reviewed by CBS News and confirmed by a law enforcement official.
Officials said in a news conference that the crew issued a mayday before the collision, which allowed officials to begin stopping traffic onto the bridge. Officials did not clarify how many vehicles were on the bridge at the time of the collapse, but Maryland Gov. Wes Moore said the decision to stop traffic "saved lives last night."
Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg said in a social media post on Tuesday morning that he spoke with Moore and Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott, offering the Transportation Department's support after the bridge collapse. The Department of Transportation is expected to release emergency response funds.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said the U.S. Coast Guard was on the scene, coordinating with state and local partners on search and rescue operations. Mayorkas said there was "no indication" that the incident was intentional. He noted that the department was assessing the impact on the Port of Baltimore.
Moore said the "preliminary investigation points to an accident," although officials are continuing to investigate the incident. Moore declared a state of emergency earlier on Tuesday, saying he was working with the Biden administration to deploy federal resources.
Van Hollen said the president also ordered the Army Corps of Engineers to deploy to the scene to help clear the area under the bridge and open the shipping channel.

From director Ridley Scott and writer David Scarpa comes Napoleon, a dramatic historical-epic film that follows the rise of Napoleon Bonaparte as he embarks on a lengthy French campaign of conquest. The film also focuses on his relationship with Josephine, his Empress and the love of his life, a relationship that was equal parts romantically intense and self-destructive.
Ridley Scott's most recent film, 2023's Napoleon , managed to generate one of the director's most memorable quotes, with this question being exclaimed by the titular Joaquin Phoenix character in the film. Although it is just one of many lines that Napoleon says, the line became instantly memorable for how humorous it is, with it getting memed online upon the release of Napoleon . Although it doesn't live up to some of Scott's other movie quotes, it is the most memorable one from Napoleon .
Napoleon's Failure Continued A Surprising 21-Year Ridley Scott Trend
20 "in your face, neil armstrong", the martian.
Adapted by Ridley Scott from Andy Weir's novel of the same name, The Martian follows the plight of astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) after he finds himself stranded alone on Mars after he is falsely presumed dead during a mission. Unable to communicate with Earth and armed with little more than his scientific expertise as a botanist, Watney must find a way to survive on the barren planet until the next scheduled mission arrives.
In The Martian , astronaut Mark Watney becomes stranded on Mars, with him having to learn how to survive on the planet. Eventually, Watney learns how to grow crops, with him explaining to his log that a planet can be classified as colonized once a colonizer grows crops on it. Wantey follows this up by taking a jab at Neil Armstrong, with this being one of the funniest moments in The Martian , Ridley Scott's highest-grossing movie .
19 "Quality Is Remembered Long After Price Is Forgotten."
House of gucci, house of gucci.
Ridley Scott's House of Gucci is a 2021 drama based on Sara Gay Forden's biographical book "The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour", and inspired by the real-life family behind the famous fashion brand Gucci. With a star-studded cast that includes Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons, Jared Leto, Jack Huston, and Salma Hayek, the movie focuses on Patrizia Reggiani's determination to take over her husband's dynasty and the events that motivated her to kill him.
Ridley Scott's 2021 film House of Gucci is one of his biggest hits in recent years, with it exploring the titular design brand. At one point in the film, Aldo Gucci explains why Gucci's customers will pay such outrageous prices for the brand . According to the film, Gucci is synonymous with quality, and this line perfectly sums up the real-world brand as well as the world of the Ridley Scott film.
18 "People Don't Always Tell You What They Are Thinking. They Just See To It That You Don't Advance In Life."
The Silence of the Lambs
Hannibal (2001)
' Hannibal Lecter is one of the most terrifying villains in cinematic history, with the psychology of his character being one of the main points of exploration in the film. Because of this, Ridley Scott's Hannibal knew that it had to nail this aspect of the character, and this single line proves that it did. This small bit of Lecter's philosophy perfectly explains why he is the way he is, showing off his views on humanity and becoming a mainstay of The Silence of the Lambs franchise.
17 "I'd Go To War With You Any Day!"
Ridley Scott's G.I. Jane is one of the director's most famous war films, with it being full of lingo that is frequently heard in military settings. This line is one that has been taken out context many times due to how great of a line it is, with G.I. Jane using it to show the bond between the characters in such a serious setting.
16 "You'll Come To See That A Man Learns Nothing From Winning. The Act Of Losing, However, Can Elicit Great Wisdom."
A good year, a good year.
Ridley Scott's A Good Year is a unique film in his filmography, with it being a romance set in a Provence vineyard. Due to the slower pace of the film compared to Scott's other works, A Good Year is full of memorable quotes about the nature of life , but none are as strong as this one. This A Good Year quote can be applied to the lives of many viewers outside of the film, showing how important it is to learn from one's mistakes.
15 "Big Things Have Small Beginnings"
Ridley Scott's controversial Alien prequel Prometheus
2012's Prometheus is the fifth installment in the Alien franchise and was directed by Ridley Scott. Starring Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, and Guy Pearce, the film acts as a direct prequel to 1979's Alien.
is a film full of platitudes, but this quote is actually pretty profound given the circumstances surrounding the line. The events of Prometheus lead to all of the chaos that takes place throughout the Alien franchise, with it foreshadowing the dark events that are to come. Although Prometheus divided the Alien fanbase upon its release, this line is one of the best in Scott's filmography.
14 "Yes. I Read You. The Answer Is Negative."
Alien (1979).
Alien is a sci-fi horror-thriller by director Ridley Scott that follows the crew of a spaceship known as the Nostromo. After the staff of the merchant's vessel perceives an unknown transmission as a distress call, its landing on the source moon finds one of the crew members attacked by a mysterious lifeform, and they soon realize that its life cycle has merely begun.
Although this is far from the last Alien quote on this list, it is still one of the most memorable quotes from the Alien franchise . Ripley makes this comment in response to being asked to open the airlock, with this being the final line in her repeated disobedience of her superior officer. This line shows just how strong-willed Ripley is , with it highlighting why she managed to survive the Xenomorph attacks throughout the franchise when other characters didnt.
12 "Once That First Bullet Goes Past Your Head, Politics And All That Sh*t Just Goes Right Out The Window."
Black hawk down.
Black Hawk Down recounts the harrowing true story of a U.S. military mission gone awry in Somalia. Tasked with capturing a warlord, elite soldiers find themselves in a fierce battle against Somali militia forces.
Black Hawk Down is one of the most famous war movies of all time, with it providing a harrowing look at the Battle of Mogadishu, where an American Black Hawk helicopter was shot down in dangerous territory. Much of the film is dedicated to the soldiers wondering why they are intervening in the first place, leading to some arguments. However, once this point is made, a somber truth comes to light, with many of these soldiers dying due to the actions made by people thousands of miles away.
Napoleon Continues A Terrible 22-Year Ridley Scott Streak, But Gladiator 2 May Break It
11 "the loudest one in the room is the weakest one in the room.", american gangster.
Denzel Washington's Frank Lucas is a terrifying figure in American Gangster
American Gangster , with him using this quote to explain why he has succeeded where others have failed. This is a fantastic look into the psychology of Frank Lucas, with it being the best quote in American Gangster .
10 "I Think You've Been Afraid All Your Life"
In Gladiator , Commodus agrees to fight Maximus to the death, with him going on a monologue and telling Maximus' story before agreeing to the battle. Maximus is surprised to see that Commodus has agreed to fight him , with Commodus asking " Why not? Do you think I am afraid? " Maximus then replies with an absolute jaw-dropping line, showing just how much confidence he has in the face of the Emperor.
9 "I'm Gonna Have To Science The Sh*t Out Of This"
Throughout The Martian , astronaut Mark Watney manages to maintain a positive attitude in the face of overwhelmingly negative circumstances. After describing how difficult his survival will be, Watney proclaims that he will have to " science the sh*t " out of his situation. Although this is a humorous line, it is actually a perfect summation of how Watney is handling his situation, with it being the attitude that eventually allows Watney to return home at the end of the film.
8 They Won't Understand Why We Do It. They Won't Understand That It's About The Men Next To You, And That's It."
Black Hawk Down gives a heavy focus to the brotherhood between the soldiers in the movie , and this quote perfectly sums up how they feel about each other. Hoot uses this quote to explain how he will respond when people ask him why he enlisted, showing that he has an immense amount of care for those fighting beside him, one that the people who didn't fight won't understand.
7 "My Husband Wasn't Sweet To Me. Look How I Turned Out."
Thelma & louise.
This is one of Ridley Scott's funniest lines, with it coming from the crime comedy movie Thelma & Louise . In it, Thelma decides to leave her husband and go to a bar with her friend Louise, leading to a murder and a life on the lam. This line is said by Thelma when she decides to let a State Trooper live, with her calling back to the events that sent her on this journey in a hilarious way.
6 "This Is Ripley, Last Survivor Of The Nostromo, Signing Off."
Ridley Scott's Alien ends with the Xenomorph killing off each member of the Nostromo , with Ellen Ripley being the sole survivor. Ripley delivers this harrowing line in a surprisingly monotone way , with it striking viewers as a fantastic final quote.
5 Quite An Experience To Live In Fear, Isn't It? That's What It Is To Be A Slave."
Blade runner.
The original Blade Runner is a sci-fi neo-noir film set in 2019 in a dystopian cyber-punk society. Harrison Ford stars as Rick Deckard as a Blade Runner for the LAPD, tasked with hunting rogue replicants, genetically engineered humans designed to tackle tasks that human beings cannot. When four replicants go rogue and begin killing humans, Deckard is forced out of retirement to hunt them down and stop them - but the truth isn't as simple as it seems. Deckard will have to reckon with the philosophical dilemma of what makes someone human.
is a film all about the replicants, asking questions about what it actually means to be human. According to Roy Batty, the replicants are all slaves, not only to the humans but to their own expiration dates. For a brief moment Roy Batty is able to give Deckard this sense of fear, allowing him to deliver this line, with it being one of the hardest-hitting moments in Blade Runner .
4 "I Will Have My Vengeance, In This Life Or The Next."
"My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions and loyal servant to the TRUE emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next."
Maximus' speech in Gladiator is one of the most famous movie moments of all time, with him removing his helmet, explaining who he is, and stating that he will have vengeance for his murdered family. This is a quote that is known by people who have never even seen Gladiator , showing just how iconic it is. Not only is it one of the best lines in Gladiator , but it is also one of the best movie monologs of all time.
3 "In Space, No One Can Hear You Scream."
This quote is one of the most famous movie lines of all time, although it doesn't actually appear in the movie at all . Instead, it is the tagline for Ridley Scott's Alien , with the line making its way beyond the Alien franchise and becoming a commonly-quoted slogan. This quote perfectly summarizes Alien 's unique blend of horror and sci-fi, setting up the tone of Ridley Scott's horror masterpiece.
2 "Are You Not Entertained?"
In Gladiator , Maximus is able to take down a surprising number of opponents. In an attempt to call out the cruelty of the gladiatorial audience, Maximus yells out " Are you not entertained? ," asking the audience why they are truly there. This is easily Gladiator 's most famous quote , with it being a staple of the Gladiator franchise and one of the most well-known movie lines of all time.
This Historical Movie Sequel Would Be Better For Ridley Scott Than Gladiator 2

Transportation Secretary Buttigieg says it’s too soon to say how long it will take to reopen the Port of Baltimore or replace the destroyed bridge. The U.S. Coast Guard says hazardous materials aboard the damaged ship pose no public safety threat.
Ship traffic entering and leaving the Port of Baltimore has been suspended indefinitely after a cargo ship lost power and crashed into Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge causing it to collapse on Tuesday. Authorities say it is too soon to know how long it will take to reopen the port or replace the bridge.
An engineering expert says there would be no economically feasible way to protect a bridge from a large ship strike like what happened with Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore and he’s not even sure it would perform successfully in a similar incident. (27 March 2024)

BALTIMORE (AP) — The cargo ship that lost power and crashed into a bridge in Baltimore underwent “routine engine maintenance” in port beforehand, the U.S. Coast Guard said Wednesday, as divers recovered the bodies of two of six workers who plunged into the water when it collapsed. The others were presumed dead, and officials said search efforts had been exhausted.
Investigators began collecting evidence from the vessel a day after it struck the Francis Scott Key Bridge. The bodies of the two men were located in the morning inside a red pickup submerged in about 25 feet (7.6 meters) of water near the bridge’s middle span, Col. Roland L. Butler Jr., superintendent of Maryland State Police, announced at an evening news conference.
He identified the men as Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes, 35, who was from Mexico and living in Baltimore, and Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera, 26, who was from Guatemala and living in Dundalk, Maryland.
The victims , who were part of a construction crew fixing potholes on the bridge, were from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, Butler said.
Here’s what to know:
- Victims: At least eight people went into the water. Two were rescued but the other six, part of a construction crew that had been filling potholes on the bridge, are missing and presumed dead.
- Investigation: The cargo ship, called Dali, lost power and issued a mayday call shortly before it rammed the bridge. The U.S. Coast Guard boarded the vessel Wednesday to collect evidence about the exact circumstances of the crash.
- Impact: The collapse is diverting shipping and trucking around one of the busiest ports on America’s East Coast, creating delays and raising costs in the latest disruption to global supply chains. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg says it’s too soon to say how long it will take to reopen the port or replace the bridge.
Maryland Gov. Wes Moore addressed their families in Spanish during the news conference, saying, “Estamos contigo, ahora y siempre,” which means, “we are with you, now and always.”
AP AUDIO: Cargo ship had engine maintenance in port before it collided with Baltimore bridge, officials say.
As the search for victims under a Baltimore bridge continues, survivors of previous bridge disasters shared their stories with the Associated Press. AP correspondent Jennifer King reports.
All search efforts have been exhausted, and based on sonar scans, authorities “firmly” believe the other vehicles with victims are encased in material from the collapsed bridge, Butler said. Divers are to resume searching once the debris is cleared.
Coast Guard Rear Admiral Shannon Gilreath said at the news conference that authorities were informed that the ship was going to undergo the maintenance.
“As far as the engine goes, we were not informed of any problems with the vessel,” he said.

The Baltimore region has reeled from the sudden loss of a major transportation link that’s part of the highway loop around the city. The disaster also closed the port, which is vital to the city’s shipping industry.
National Transportation Safety Board officials boarded the ship to recover information from its electronics and paperwork and to interview the captain and other crew members, NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy said during a separate news conference. Twenty-three people, including two pilots, were on the ship when it crashed, she said.
The vessel was also carrying 56 containers of hazardous materials including corrosives, flammables and lithium ion batteries, Homendy said. She added that some containers were breached, and that a sheen on the water from those materials would be handled by authorities.
Marcel Muise, NTSB investigator in charge, laid out a preliminary timeline assembled from the voyage data recorder comprising audio from the bridge and VHF radio ahead of the crash, which federal and state officials have said appeared to be an accident.
The vessel, the Dali, left port at 12:39 a.m. Tuesday and, after it entered the channel, signs of trouble came at about 1:25 a.m. when numerous alarms sounded, according to the NTSB. About a minute later, steering commands and rudder orders were issued, and at 1:26 a.m. and 39 seconds, a pilot made a general radio call for nearby tug boats.
Maryland Transportation Authority data from about the same time shows the pilot association dispatcher called the transportation authority’s officer on duty about the blackout, the NTSB said.
Just after 1:27 a.m., the pilot commanded the ship to drop an anchor on the left side of the ship and issued added steering commands. About 20 seconds later, the pilot issued a radio call reporting that the Dali had lost all power approaching the bridge.
At about that time, the state transportation officer on duty radioed two of its units already stationed at each end of the bridge saying to close the bridge to vehicle traffic. They were already there because of the construction.
Around 1:29 a.m., when the ship was traveling at about 8 mph (13 kph), recordings for about 30 seconds picked up sounds consistent with it colliding with the bridge, the NTSB said. A Transportation Authority dash camera also shows lights on the bridge going out.
AP Washington correspondent Sagar Meghani reports the Biden administration is looking at rebuilding and reopening in Baltimore -- while warning of a long road ahead.
At 1:29 a.m. and 39 seconds, the pilot reported to the Coast Guard that the bridge was down.

Muise said experts will review the entire voyage data recording and develop a detailed transcript.
At least eight people initially went into the water when the ship struck the bridge column , and two of them were rescued Tuesday, officials said.
Traffic was still crossing the span as the ship approached, and some vehicles appeared to escape with only seconds to spare. The crash caused the bridge to break and fall into the water within seconds.
Authorities had just enough time to stop vehicle traffic . One officer parked sideways across the lanes and planned to drive onto the bridge to alert the construction crew once another officer arrived, but he did not get a chance.
The debris complicated the search for the workers, according to a Homeland Security memo described to The Associated Press by a law enforcement official who was not authorized to discuss details of the document or the investigation and spoke on condition of anonymity.
Gov. Moore said the divers faced dangerous conditions, among the mangled metal and low visibility.

“They are down there in darkness where they can literally see about a foot in front of them,” Moore said.
The Dali, which is managed by Synergy Marine Group, was headed from Baltimore to Sri Lanka. It is owned by Grace Ocean Private Ltd., and Danish shipping giant Maersk said it had chartered it.
The vessel passed foreign port state inspections in June and September 2023. In the June inspection, a faulty monitor gauge for fuel pressure was rectified before departure, Singapore’s port authority said.
The ship was traveling under a Singapore flag, and officials there said they will conduct their own investigation in addition to supporting U.S. authorities.
The sudden loss of a highway that carries 30,000 vehicles a day and the port disruption will affect not only thousands of dockworkers and commuters but also U.S. consumers who are likely to feel the impact of shipping delays .
“A lot of people don’t realize how important the port is just to everything,” said Cat Watson, who used the bridge to get to work every day and lives close enough that she was awakened by the collision. “We’re going to be feeling it for a very long time.”
Baltimore is a busy entry point for vehicles made in Germany, Mexico, Japan and the United Kingdom, along with coal and farm equipment.
Ship traffic has been suspended indefinitely. Windward Maritime, a maritime risk-management company, said its data shows a large increase in ships that are waiting for a port to go to, with some anchored outside Baltimore or nearby Annapolis.
At the White House, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said the Biden administration was focused on reopening the port and rebuilding the bridge, which was completed in 1977. He did not put a timeline on those efforts, while noting that the original bridge took five years to construct.
Buttigieg also planned to meet Thursday with supply chain officials.
Barges, including some with cranes, were on their way to help remove the wreckage, Gilreath said.
Homendy said the NTSB investigation could take 12 to 24 months but the agency may issue urgent safety recommendations sooner. A preliminary report should come in two to four weeks.
