Oceanco’s new 90m/295ft dreamboat has been successfully delivered to her owners

Oceanco’s 90-meter motor yacht DreAMBoat is exactly what the name implies—the Owner’s dream yacht. The Owner stepped into the project at precisely the right time. With hull and superstructure already completed, he was able to save build and engineering time and still make the yacht his own. Oceanco began the yacht for a future client interested in the Oceanco pedigree and inherent ability to build an innovative yacht combined with the novelty of a first-time collaboration between two of the most renowned yacht designers in the superyacht world— Espen Øino International for the exterior and Terence Disdale Design for the interior.

The Owner was taken with the classic elegant and engaging exterior lines that would sustain a timeless appeal and found that the interior layout was perfectly suited to his intended use. The generous overhangs from the superstructure and cutouts in the bulwarks lend a traditional yet strong appearance. DreAMBoat boasts a full carbon canopy mast house and mast, which forms an integral part of the overall design.

“At the outset the exterior design was intended to be understated and timeless,” says exterior designer Espen Øino, “working closely with Oceanco all the primary surfaces and details were created keeping this in mind. The result is one I think we all can identify with. At the launch she came out of the facilities looking strong and proud with a lot of presence. The exterior deck areas flow seamlessly into the interior spaces maintaining continuity and consistency. The external decks offer a variety of living spaces and experiences with the sun deck probably being the biggest in its class with ample space for entertainment and lounging both in the shade and in the sun. The fixed and loose furniture as well as the upholstery and cushions all provide an inviting and harmonious ensemble which complement the external design of the yacht very well.”

At 2950GT, the volume allows for luxurious accommodation for up to 23 guests and a well-thought-out crew’s quarters for a maximum of 33 crewmembers. The design emphasis is on large windows that flood the interior with daylight and offer unspoiled views from the inside out. Outside spaces feature a large swimming pool 6m long X 3.1m wide X 1.44m deep on the main aft deck; an enormous partially enclosed sundeck; an area where the Owner and his family will most spend their time with Jacuzzi and copious options for seating/ entertaining with an outdoor open cinema. There is also a private jacuzzi on the Owner’s deck, a spa on the bridge deck aft with a custom-built hydro/massage bath and a large selection of water toys including a custom-built dive board. DreAMBoat has been built in harmony to accommodate family life.

Terence Disdale has created an interior that incorporates bespoke surfaces, natural wood, limestone floors, semi-precious stone vanities, parchment, leather and mother of pearl. The effect is elegant without being overdone.

“Following our successful collaboration with Oceanco designing the interior of Sunrays we were asked to become involved with DreAMBoat, says Terence Disdale of Terence Disdale Design. “The layout was construed along with my good friend Espen, who is responsible for the naval architecture and exterior design. Our interior design features many exotic finishes creating an harmonious and calm environment including surprise details to entertain the eye.” Disdale adds, “We always strive to avoid the “big wow” factor that soon becomes boring. We believe that DreAMBoat with her quietly sophisticated interior is indeed a future classic.”

Dan Jackson, the Owner’s representative remarked: “From the first time the Owner saw the boat, still in pink faring compound in the outfitting facility and met all involved in the project, he knew that the combination of Espen’s timeless exterior, Terence Disdale’s elegant and calming interior and Oceanco’s ability to deliver the boat on time and to the quality he required, was just right for him. So, after some minor enhancements made to suit him and his family, we got right into it and here we are, 18 months later, proud to be delivering him his DreAMBoat”.

The Owner is looking forward to a summer season of cruising with family—his children and grandchildren— as well as with friends. The large saloons, multiple dining areas, along with intimate lounging settings offer myriad possibilities for large and small groups to congregate making DreAMBoat ideal for a multigenerational group. A large variety of toys, tenders and audio/video appliances appeal to all ages.

DreAMBoat is an example of proven reliable technology, combined with state- of-the- art AV/IT infrastructure, including a complex IP ship’s computer operating system. She has been designed for efficiency on many fronts such as the installation of a heat recovery system for potable water. Moreover, she has achieved the ECO-IHM (inventory of hazardous materials) notation. This notation demonstrates an overall commitment to operating the vessel on an environmentally sound basis beyond statutory compliance.

The owners of the 90-metre Oceanco motor yacht  DREAMBOAT celebrate the delivery of their dream yacht. DREAMBOAT is a fully-custom yacht with exterior design by Espen Oeino and interior design by Terence Disdale .

The shipyard began construction on speculation, however, the owner was interested in the sophisticated and graceful exterior and found the interior that completely matched his requirements. The exterior features large overhangs from the superstructure and cutouts in the bulwarks provide a timeless, yet striking appearance.

At 2950GT of internal volume, the yacht hosts plenty of space for socialising and relaxation. The interior is brightly lit with natural light and offers fantastic views of the surroundings. Disdale has incorporated opulent woods, limestone floors, semi-precious stones, leather and mother of pearl in the elegant interior decor. Several dining areas, spacious salons, private lounges are ideal for holidays with friends and family.

The outdoor spaces include a massive swimming pool, vast sundeck with a helipad, outdoor open cinema, Jacuzzi and sunbathing areas. The private owner’s deck offers Jacuzzi, while the bridge deck provides a spa with a custom-built hydro/massage bath.

Motor yacht DreAMBoat is equipped with a large number of water toys and a custom-built dive board. The superyacht is environmentally-friendly and is fitted with the heat recovery system for potable water.

Accommodation is offered for up to 23 guests and 33 crew members.

DREAMBOAT Yacht – Impeccable $180 Million Superyacht

DreAMBoat yacht is a 90 meters (295 feet) long gem. She was built in the Netherlands by Oceanco, one of the world’s best ship makers.

It was launched in 2019. Beautiful: This vessel can hold 23 guests in 11 luxury cabins and 33 crew members in 16 cabins.

To make sure that the inside of the DreAMBoat was exactly what the owner wanted, Terence Disdale was chosen to design and build the custom interior.

There are bright and airy elements inside that match the ship’s overall style. This is how the inside of this yacht is decorated.

The inside of the piece is made very well and polished in a very high-quality way across the whole yacht.

To add visual interest, suede and exotic wood were added to the upholstery. Light cream fabrics and leather are used for the rest of the furniture.

Among the yacht are some fantastic cabins and VIP suites on the top deck.

DreAMBoat is air-conditioned in every room. She has a 6m x 3.1m swimming pool on the main deck and a separate spa pool on the sun deck.

It was the job of Espen Oeino to make DreAMBoat look ‘understated and timeless.’ He was able to achieve what he set out to do.

An aluminum superstructure and a steel hull make up a superstructure that is known for its unique chamfers and knuckle lines.

There is a main swimming pool on the main deck. The main deck has two outdoor levels that are only for the use of the owners, a private owners deck, an upper deck dining room, and a sundeck with a Jacuzzi.

The DreAMBoat yacht has a total length of 90 meters (295 feet) and a beam of 14.2 meters (46.7 ft) She has a weight of 2950 tonnes.

She cruises at speeds of 15 knots and can reach a top speed of 20 knots.

Twin MTU diesel engines give her a long-range and a top speed of about 15 knots, the company says.

Currently, it’s estimated that the DreAMBoat yacht’s annual running costs are around $16 million.

Oceanco delivers 'DreAMBoat' to owners

Oceanco has delivered its new 90m superyacht Y716 DreAMBoat to its owners. This latest project is the result of a first-time design collaboration between Espen Øino International and Terence Disdale Design.

Roderick Gort, project director at Oceanco describes the delivery of DreAMBoat as a “milestone in the construction process of delivering the ‘Owners Perfect Yacht’.”

With a volume of 2950gt, it allows ample space for up to 23 guests and a generous crew’s quarters for up to 33 crewmembers. The yacht’s large overhangs from the superstructure and cut outs in the bulwarks create a classic and strong appearance. Øino, who penned the exterior design, describes the overall effect as a yacht “with clean uncluttered lines and a coherent design".

The emphasis of the design is on large windows that flood the interior with natural light and offers excellent views from the inside. The exterior boasts a large swimming pool on the main deck, an enormous partially enclosed sundeck with a Jacuzzi and myriad options for seating and entertaining. The owner also has a private jacuzzi on their deck.

According to Oceanco, Disdale’s attention to detail has meant that the interior is sophisticated and serene, incorporating bespoke surfaces, natural wood, limestone floors, semi-precious stone vanities, parchment, leather and mother of pearl. Following his philosophy to not gild the lily, the overall effect is “chic but not overdone”.

DreAMBoat boasts state-of-the-art technology throughout – from its complex IP ship’s computer operating system to its full carbon copy mast house and mast, which forms an integral part of the overall design.

Discussing the finished product, the owner’s representative Dan Jackson, says: "From the first time the Owner saw the boat, still in pink faring compound in the outfitting facility and met all involved in the project, he knew that the combination of Espen's timeless exterior, Terence Disdale's elegant and calming interior and Oceanco's ability to deliver the boat on time and to the quality he required, was just right for him. 2018 proved to be of Oceanco’s most productive years to date, and, after this strong start, 2019 is set to be another fine year for the Dutch superyacht building behemoth.

DreAMBoat: On board Oceanco's daring 90m speculative build

Oceanco’s on-spec bet on Øino, Disdale and a very special 90 metre paid off handsomely

"One of the big hurdles we have to overcome as boats get bigger and more complex is build time,” says Espen Øino , designer of  Oceanco 's new 90-metre behemoth DreAMBoat . “Today a project of that scale is a four-year programme, then perhaps another year once the boat is delivered, revving it up and crewing it. So it quickly becomes five and that’s a very long time for many people.”

That’s why the Dutch custom yard built this vast project – to an advanced stage – on speculation. That’s right: a 90-metre boat, on spec, with no guarantee that someone would buy it. This is vertiginous decision-making. But by beginning DreAMBoat without an owner, Oceanco’s standard year of design plus three years of build was reduced to 18 months, from the owner signing the contract to delivery. “I think in the end this is one of the selling points, reducing lead time for a client,” says Roderick Gort, project director at Oceanco, with some understatement.

Let’s skip straight to the happy ending. It worked: a client bought DreAMBoat when fairing and outfitting were underway. Timing had definitely been a factor – he wanted it for the summer – and while he requested more than 100 minor edits, the only major change was the addition of a VIP suite on the owner’s deck.

So how did Oceanco achieve this result? When it comes to building smaller superyachts on speculation, the received wisdom is to stay neutral to broaden the appeal to potential owners. On DreAMBoat , Oceanco threw this tenet out of the porthole. “We feel that if you do a stock project this size you can’t be mediocre,” says Gort. “You want something specific; you want something special. In our experience, average doesn’t do it on this size of project.” While the yard was careful to retain scope for an owner to customise the project when they came aboard, up in this realm you can’t hedge your bets – you need to commit to a design that will inspire and delight. You don’t need 10 clients who like it, you need one client who loves it.

Enter Terence Disdale , who penned DreAMBoat ’s interior, and Espen Øino, who designed the exterior and GA. Disdale began his career in the late 1960s at Jon Bannenberg ’s hothouse studio in London, one of a handful of talents who would go on to define modern superyacht design. Despite his own studio’s list of illustrious repeat clients and gargantuan projects (see 139.3 metre Al Salamah , 85.9 metre Ecstasea , 78 metre Montkaj , 81.8 metre Kibo and the record-breaking 162.5 metre Eclipse ), Disdale’s mantra has remained “beach house not penthouse”.

Øino, meanwhile, is the man of the moment. The Norwegian-born, Monaco-based designer has penned some of the most dynamic yachts to hit the water in recent years. Take the genre-defining 126.2-metre explorer Octopus , the flowing decks of 133.9-metre Serene , 135.5-metre Crescent , with its “concertina” heli-hangar, military-style 85-metre BOLD or ultra-cool 76.2-metre expedition yacht Cloudbreak , with its ski room and vast garage of toys.

Oceanco, then, paired a bonafide legend with a more recent arrival in the pantheon – neither one “vanilla” in style but both designers that a client choosing a 90-metre yacht is statistically likely to engage (but who, strangely, have never worked together before). The project is based on a proven hull from Oceanco’s 700 series that started with Alfa Nero but has been developed and extended since. More recently it formed the basis of 90-metre DAR , although viewed alongside DreAMBoat , “it shows how different two such vessels can be above the waterline”, says Gort.

Øino’s brief from the yard was “timeless and contemporary” – “so the windows are all rectangular, it’s not a very busy design” – but he punctuated the look with some interesting details. To make the most of views from massive windows, Øino cut down the corresponding sections of bulwark – a move you have to pull off carefully to avoid a messy look. He has achieved this by replicating the trapezoidal shapes of the bulwark cut-downs in the freeing ports directly below them. There are also chamfers and knuckle lines that subdivide the massive surfaces to make the design appear “lighter”.

These details gave Oceanco’s workers a few headaches. “The longitudinal lines, sometimes 50 or 60 metres, have to end in the exact correct spot to make one point,” says Gort. “Doing this out of aluminium and then fairing it in such a way that it looks like it was drawn with a pencil indicates the craftsmanship of the gentlemen who built it.”

But this is a yacht built from the inside out – “that’s how you design a boat”, says Øino. The GA was informed by his experience of how such yachts are used. Most waking hours are spent outside, so those spaces are maximised – and protected because “it’s very rare that there is absolutely no breeze”. Big tenders for a safe, dry ride are also, says Øino, “very important for a successful boat”.

There’s plenty of al fresco space on board, with sprawling aft decks on every level and a real treat up top. “I think one of the areas which stands out has been the sundeck,” says Gort. “It is almost 300 square metres of exterior/interior space with very flexible use.” There’s a dining/coffee area, a spa pool , bar with a television, a huge sunbathing area and the set-up for an outdoor cinema – the latter an owner request. Because of its lofty position, the area remains private, while sliding glass doors forward keep it protected.

Lower down, “we chose a significantly sized pool quite far out on the main deck, and that reduces the options that you have below”, says Gort. So rather than a beach club /spa aft on the lower deck, this reduced-height area has been assigned as a technical space. A spa can instead be found way up on the bridge deck. “We felt a spa should be a private area, somewhere where you should be able to lower your energy and relax,” says Gort. Tucked away behind the wheelhouse, it’s a space that can be used in seclusion even when the boat is in port and other boats’ beach clubs are closed up and out of use.

This arrangement also leaves space down on the lower deck for a vast tender garage with two 12-metre side-openings. It houses a 10.8-metre limo tender, customised to match the mothership, and a 10.5-metre sports tender – plus acres of space for the latest water toys .

But even areas that are relatively standard in layout are transformed by Disdale’s decorative treatments into warm, comfortable and highly individual spaces. “We always choose materials that come from mother nature, from places such as Bali, the Philippines, the Caribbean,” says Daniela Zulli, director of Terence Disdale Design. “Like the coconut ceilings, like the cracked eggshell table-top and then the oak, which we use in various ways and various colours.” Zulli notes that almost all the finishes are custom-made to their designs, down to the table lamps. Even the rattans are bespoke – “we choose the weave and the colour” – and this level of control allows the designers to make incremental modulations in tone in different spaces.

The bright, open main saloon is lined with custom cream bamboo carpets, which are “a lot more durable than silk and don’t have that warm feeling of a wool”, says Zulli. The television here recedes beneath a stone panel designed by Disdale and created by hand. “In each boat it’s something that we do,” says Zulli. “In some other vessels we made them in metal or mother of pearl.” Here they’re a smooth, almost sea-worn alabaster veneer.

The separate, formal dining saloon seats up to 18 around an extendable table with a three-tone black lacquer finish, adjacent to a buffet counter with a petrified wood top. Forward of here are six warm-toned guest cabins, while on the upper deck, the owner’s area has a darker, sexier night- time vibe in high gloss, lacquered palm wood and parchment. This comprises a children’s cabin, a VIP cabin and the owner’s suite with his-and- hers bathrooms and dressing rooms, as well as 180-degree windows looking out over the foredeck – a space that could as easily host a quiet breakfast as an Airbus H145 chopper.

At the aft end of this deck is the family-focused upper saloon with coffee tables bordered in leather upholstery, so you can put your feet up. There’s a big television, and for movie time an even grander cinema screen that drops down in front of it. Aft, the informal dining space features a round table surrounded by floor-to-ceiling sliding glass windows – “to create an indoor/ outdoor experience”, says Gort, an effect amplified by teak decking that spills from the aft deck into this space.

Up on the bridge deck, the highlight is that spa . The massage bath was an owner request – “custom-built, it runs a programme of 150 water and air nozzles”, says Gort. There’s a glass-doored steam room – “so you don’t feel claustrophobic”, says Zulli – a sauna, a massage room and a beauty salon with a Swarovski crystal ceiling.

The variety of textures and finishes throughout the boat (170 to be exact) is extraordinary. A modest lobby forward of the main saloon offers a feast for the senses, from the cushioned weave of leather under-foot, to a natural stone mosaic and the ribs of oak that clad the curving walls. “Each rib has been veneered separately, sprayed separately, and then applied,” says Gort. “Throughout the boat it’s literally kilometres of ribs, created piece by piece.” Likewise a cream brush-stroke effect in the overhead was painstaking to create.

But not every element is so premeditated. While there are several works by established artists, there are also “pieces that are not necessarily artworks but we use them as artworks”, says Zulli. These include large crags of pyrite, tiger’s eye, ammonite, desert rose quartz and driftwood used in place of sculptures; ancient Chinese honeypots used like classical vases; there is even a cross-section of rusty steel pipe, furred up with sugar-white calcium, mounted on a base.

Perhaps the biggest achievement of the layout and decor is that, despite running through more than 1,000 square metres, as Gort puts it, “it doesn’t feel humongous. You can be on board with only a few guests and you still feel the vessel is being occupied.” That is, really, the dream boat.

Oceanco delivers 90m DreAMBoat

Oceanco’s 90m/295ft motor yacht ‘DreAMBoat’ has now been delivered to her owner and is making her maiden voyage to the Mediterranean .

Following her launch in February and the successful completion of sea trials in May,  DreAMBoat has now been welcomed into the arms of her new owner. 

She is now en route to the Mediterranean, where she will spend the summer season hosting her guests around the region’s glamorous cruising grounds. 

The 90m superyacht is PYC-compliant, meaning she can host up to 23 guests on board, and sports exterior design from Espen Oeino and interiors headed up by Terence Disdale.

Speaking about his latest work on the yacht, Terence Disdale has said that he and his team were keen to “avoid the big ‘wow factor’ that soon becomes boring. We believe that DreAMBoat, with her quietly sophisticated interior, is indeed a future classic.”

The interior styling of the yacht includes bespoke materials such as limestone, parchment, leather and mother-of-peal. The result is “elegant without being overdone” according to Tisdale.

“Our interior design features many exotic finishes creating a harmonious and calm environment including surprise details to entertain the eye." The designer went on.

The exterior design of the yacht is equally elegant, with Espen Oeino creating a sinuous profile complete with generous overhangs from the superstructure and cut-outs in the bulwarks that create a “classic and strong appearance.”

“At the outset the exterior design was intended to be understated and timeless.” Oeino has previously said. “Working closely with Oceanco all the primary surfaces and details were created keeping this in mind. The result is one I think we all can identify with."

Across the yacht’s four decks, many alluring features are housed. These include a swimming pool on the main deck aft and a spacious sundeck with a spa pool and outdoor cinema. A second jacuzzi can be found on the owner’s deck, while a spa is located on upper deck aft. 

DreAMBoat marks Oceanco’s 33rd delivery in the Dutch yard’s 33-year-long history. She has joined the ranks in the World’s Top 100 Yachts, sharing spot 74 with fellow Oceanco built superyacht DAR .

It is not yet known whether DreAMBoat will become available for crewed yacht charter .

OCEANCO’S NEW 90M/295FT DREAMBOAT DELIVERED to OWNERS

The Owner was taken with the classic elegant and engaging exterior lines that would sustain a timeless appeal and found that the interior layout was perfectly suited to his intended use. The generous overhangs from the superstructure and cutouts in the bulwarks lend a traditional yet strong appearance.  DreAMBoat  boasts a full carbon canopy mast house and mast, which forms an integral part of the overall design.

“At the outset the exterior design was intended to be understated and timeless,” says exterior designer Espen Øino, “working closely with Oceanco all the primary surfaces and details were created keeping this in mind.  The result is one I think we all can identify with.  At the launch she came out of the facilities looking strong and proud with a lot of presence. The exterior deck areas flow seamlessly into the interior spaces maintaining continuity and consistency.  The external decks offer a variety of living spaces and experiences with the sun deck probably being the biggest in its class with ample space for entertainment and lounging both in the shade and in the sun.  The fixed and loose furniture as well as the upholstery and cushions all provide an inviting and harmonious ensemble which complement the external design of the yacht very well.”

At 2950GT, the volume allows for luxurious accommodation for up to 23 guests and a well-thought-out crew’s quarters for a maximum of 33 crewmembers. The design emphasis is on large windows that flood the interior with daylight and offer unspoiled views from the inside out. Outside spaces feature a large swimming pool 6m long X 3.1m wide X 1.44m deep on the main aft deck; an enormous partially enclosed sundeck; an area where the Owner and his family will most spend their time with Jacuzzi and copious options for seating/ entertaining with an outdoor open cinema. There is also a private jacuzzi on the Owner’s deck, a spa on the bridge deck aft with a custom-built hydro/massage bath and a large selection of water toys including a custom-built dive board.  DreAMBoat  has been built in harmony to accommodate family life.

Terence Disdale has created an interior that incorporates bespoke surfaces, natural wood, limestone floors, semi-precious stone vanities, parchment, leather and mother of pearl. The effect is elegant without being overdone.

“Following our successful collaboration with Oceanco designing the interior of  Sunrays  we were asked to become involved with  DreAMBoat , says Terence Disdale of Terence Disdale Design. “The layout was construed along with my good friend Espen, who is responsible for the naval architecture and exterior design. Our interior design features many exotic finishes creating an harmonious and calm environment including surprise details to entertain the eye.”

Disdale adds, “We always strive to avoid the “big wow” factor that soon becomes boring. We believe that  DreAMBoat  with her quietly sophisticated interior is indeed a future classic.”

Dan Jackson, the Owner’s representative remarked: “From the first time the Owner saw the boat, still in pink faring compound in the outfitting facility and met all involved in the project, he knew that the combination of Espen’s timeless exterior, Terence Disdale’s elegant and calming interior and Oceanco’s ability to deliver the boat on time and to the quality he required, was just right for him. So, after some minor enhancements made to suit him and his family, we got right into it and here we are, 18 months later, proud to be delivering him his DreAMBoat”.

The Owner is looking forward to a summer season of cruising with family—his children and grandchildren— as well as with friends. The large saloons, multiple dining areas, along with intimate lounging settings offer myriad possibilities for large and small groups to congregate making  DreAMBoat  ideal for a multigenerational group. A large variety of toys, tenders and audio/video appliances appeal to all ages.

DreAMBoat  is an example of proven reliable technology, combined with state- of-the- art AV/IT infrastructure, including a complex IP ship’s computer operating system. She has been designed for efficiency on many fronts such as the installation of a heat recovery system for potable water. Moreover, she has achieved the ECO-IHM (inventory of hazardous materials) notation. This notation demonstrates an overall commitment to operating the vessel on an environmentally sound basis beyond statutory compliance.

90-metre DreAMBoat Superyacht from Oceanco has been delivered

DreAMBoat, the 90-meter motor yacht from Oceanco, was handed over to its owner, who was personally involved in the project.  DreAMBoat was also the scene of the first collaboration between the designers of Terence Disdale Design, who took care of the interiors, and Espen Øino International, who took care of the exteriors.

DreAMBoat , the 90-meter superyacht designed by Oceanco , has been delivered to its owner, who is preparing to start a summer season in the company of the whole family. Large lounges, several dining rooms, and intimate environments. A real dream boat for the owner, ideal for a multigenerational group. On board, plenty of areas are dedicated to relaxation and entertainment, such as the open-air cinema or the large swimming pool on the main deck.

“Initially, the exterior design had to be sober and timeless,” says exterior designer Espen Øino . “Working closely with Oceanco, all the primary surfaces and details were created with this in mind. The result is something we can all identify with.”

“At the launch, DreAMBoat presented herself with a strong and proud appearance, and with great presence, – continues Øino – “the external areas of the bridge flow seamlessly into the internal spaces, maintaining continuity and coherence. The outdoor decks offer a variety of spaces, with the sun deck, which is probably the largest in its class, which offers ample space for entertainment and relaxation in both the shade and the sun. The fixed and loose furniture, as well as the upholstery and cushions, provide an inviting and harmonious whole that blends very well with the yacht’s exterior design.”

DreAMBoat can accommodate up to 23 guests and a maximum of 33 crew members. The design is centered on large windows that illuminate the interior with natural light while offering a panoramic view. The outdoor spaces are characterized by the swimming pool on the main aft deck, a large partially enclosed sundeck , an area with Jacuzzi and outdoor cinema . There is also a private jacuzzi on the owner’s deck, a spa on the aft deck with a custom built whirlpool and a wide selection of toys, including a custom-built diving board.

As far as the interiors are concerned, Terence Disdale has incorporated personalized surfaces, natural wood, limestone floors and leather, and mother-of-pearl inserts, in search of an elegant style without excesses.

“After the success of our collaboration with Oceanco on the interior design of Sunrays we were asked to get involved with DreAMBoat,” says Terence Disdale of Terence Disdale Design. “The layout was built with my good friend Espen, who is responsible for naval architecture and exterior design. Our interior design is characterized by many exotic finishes that create a harmonious and quiet environment, with surprise details to entertain the eye.”

Disdale adds: “We always strive to avoid the “big wow” factor that soon becomes boring. We believe that DreAMBoat with its sophisticated and quiet interiors is really a classic of the future.”

Dan Jackson , the owner’s representative, commented: “From the first time the owner saw the boat and met everyone involved in the project, he knew that the combination of Espen’s timeless exterior, Terence Disdale’s elegant and tranquil interiors and Oceanco’s ability to deliver the boat on time and to the required quality was perfect for him. So, after a few small improvements made to adapt the yacht to him and his family, we went straight to work and here we are, 18 months later, proud to hand over his DreAMBoat.”

DreAMBoat is an example of cutting-edge technology and eco-sustainability . The latest generation of IT systems are flanked by solutions for heat recovery, which is then used to heat the water on board. The superyacht has in fact obtained the ECO-IHM certification, which demonstrates the general commitment to operate the ship on an environmentally friendly basis that goes beyond compliance with the law.

“Delivering DreAMBoat is the last milestone in Oceanco’s ethos of creating the perfect yacht for shipowners,” comments Roderick Gort , project manager at Oceanco.

Built by the Italian shipyard San Lorenzo in 2015, the 46 metre superyacht SCORPION is the eighth vessel in the shipyard’s 46 steel line. Constructed with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, she features naval architecture by the in-house team at San Lorenzo, whilst her exterior design was undertaken by Francesco Paszkowski. The elegance of the external lines give SCORPION the unmistakable San Lorenzo’s style which makes every San Lorenzo yacht a timeless classic, never influenced by the temporary fashion trends.

Her main salon is particularly bright and welcoming, epitomising the aforementioned desired owner’s concept perfectly. The dark, wooden flooring contrasting with the light upholstery and various brightly coloured decorative pieces.

The dining area is located on the upper deck, and is one of the brightest spaces on the vessel, connecting seamlessly to the outside with floor to ceiling sliding glass doors. A gorgeous round glass table is surrounded by elegant turquoise dining chairs for ten guests. Other amenities on board include a fully equipped gym and sauna.

The staircase hosts what is unquestionably one of SCORPION ’s most unique and interesting aesthetic features in a specially created crystal sculpture. Transforming colour at each deck from blue to turquoise-green, the 3.9 metre piece immediately draws the eye and creates an ideal ambiance for entertainment.

Moving outside to her exterior spaces, her spacious sun deck is a hub of activity, with a large Jacuzzi situated next to a large space dedicated to sun loungers, a spacious al fresco dining area that seats up to 10 guests, as well as a bar and additional sunloungers towards the aft. The main deck is home to a large seating area, comprised of two comfortable L shaped sofas and leading down to the large beach club.

Elsewhere, her huge garage astern houses an impressive seven metre tender, with an additional large garage located at the bow to host a wide range of water toys. Furthermore, an external lighting system gives the whole boat a multicolor effect, switching to different chromatic shades for a captivating and unique atmosphere.

SCORPION accommodates guests over five generous staterooms, comprised of a large master suite on the main deck in addition to two double cabins and two twin cabins on the lower deck. The master’s suite is decorated in a delicate palette of creams, white, silver and lilacs and is inundated with natural light from the large windows framing the stateroom and private office. The large bathroom is both sophisticated and stylish, with a large bathtub and his and hers sinks.

All guest accommodation is located on the lower deck. The mosaics in the bathrooms were all made especially by a Moscow-based artist, continuing the artistic ambiance present in all areas on board. A crew of nine are also accommodated for on the lower deck.

The 46-metre SCORPION yacht was built in 2015 and is ABS-classed and MCA-compliant. She cruises at 14 knots and is fitted with zero-speed stabilisers for added comfort.

Her interior, designed by Tiziana Vercellesi and the SCORPION yacht owner themselves, is an Art Deco-inspired haven of opulence. Her upper deck sky lounge is the real showpiece, boasting an aquarium and formal dining at a round glass table with circular sliding doors that connect it to the upper deck.

Up to 12 guests will sleep across five cabins during your SCORPION yacht charter. The full-beam owner’s suite lies on the main deck and boasts a king-size bed, an en suite with a Jacuzzi and jet shower, and two private terraces. The rest of the cabins comprise two VIP cabins and two convertible twins, each with integrated entertainment systems and en suite bathrooms.

Yacht Facilities & Entertainment

The sun deck of the SCORPION yacht is full of amenities to help you relax. You can move around the multiple sunbathing areas to maximise your tanning and pop up the biminis when you need to find some shade. You can unwind in the Jacuzzi or enjoy a barbecued meal at the alfresco dining table amidship.

The sun deck is also an ideal space to entertain, thanks to the outdoor LED lighting that gives the whole space a fun and funky club-like atmosphere. For special sundowners, head to the viewing table on the fore deck and take in the vista.

If you need to recover from a night of partying, you’ll find plenty of loungers on the upper deck aft and main deck aft that are ideal for an alfresco nap. Should you prefer to sweat it out, you can go through the beach club and work out in the fully equipped gym before loosening up in the sauna after and then enjoying a massage from the onboard therapist. Once you’ve taken a dip, you can head back to the swim platform and recline across even more sun loungers.

When you want to enjoy some leisure time ashore, there’s a custom-made Limo tender and a 4-metre Lomac tender available to transfer you.

The SCORPION motor yacht also carries a variety of water toys for you to enjoy. You could zip across the waves on the multi-person Jet Skis, Seabobs and towable toys, or have a go at the jet surfboard, fly board and wakeboard. Cruising the Moskva River: A short guide to boat trips in Russia’s capital

There’s hardly a better way to absorb Moscow’s atmosphere than on a ship sailing up and down the Moskva River. While complicated ticketing, loud music and chilling winds might dampen the anticipated fun, this checklist will help you to enjoy the scenic views and not fall into common tourist traps.

How to find the right boat?

There are plenty of boats and selecting the right one might be challenging. The size of the boat should be your main criteria.

Plenty of small boats cruise the Moskva River, and the most vivid one is this yellow Lay’s-branded boat. Everyone who has ever visited Moscow probably has seen it.

This option might leave a passenger disembarking partially deaf as the merciless Russian pop music blasts onboard. A free spirit, however, will find partying on such a vessel to be an unforgettable and authentic experience that’s almost a metaphor for life in modern Russia: too loud, and sometimes too welcoming. Tickets start at $13 (800 rubles) per person.

Bigger boats offer smoother sailing and tend to attract foreign visitors because of their distinct Soviet aura. Indeed, many of the older vessels must have seen better days. They are still afloat, however, and getting aboard is a unique ‘cultural’ experience. Sometimes the crew might offer lunch or dinner to passengers, but this option must be purchased with the ticket. Here is one such  option  offering dinner for $24 (1,490 rubles).

If you want to travel in style, consider Flotilla Radisson. These large, modern vessels are quite posh, with a cozy restaurant and an attentive crew at your service. Even though the selection of wines and food is modest, these vessels are still much better than other boats.

Surprisingly, the luxurious boats are priced rather modestly, and a single ticket goes for $17-$32 (1,100-2,000 rubles); also expect a reasonable restaurant bill on top.

How to buy tickets?

Women holding photos of ships promise huge discounts to “the young and beautiful,” and give personal invitations for river tours. They sound and look nice, but there’s a small catch: their ticket prices are usually more than those purchased online.

“We bought tickets from street hawkers for 900 rubles each, only to later discover that the other passengers bought their tickets twice as cheap!”  wrote  (in Russian) a disappointed Rostislav on a travel company website.

Nevertheless, buying from street hawkers has one considerable advantage: they personally escort you to the vessel so that you don’t waste time looking for the boat on your own.

Prices start at $13 (800 rubles) for one ride, and for an additional $6.5 (400 rubles) you can purchase an unlimited number of tours on the same boat on any given day.

Flotilla Radisson has official ticket offices at Gorky Park and Hotel Ukraine, but they’re often sold out.

Buying online is an option that might save some cash. Websites such as  this   offer considerable discounts for tickets sold online. On a busy Friday night an online purchase might be the only chance to get a ticket on a Flotilla Radisson boat.

This  website  (in Russian) offers multiple options for short river cruises in and around the city center, including offbeat options such as ‘disco cruises’ and ‘children cruises.’ This other  website  sells tickets online, but doesn’t have an English version. The interface is intuitive, however.

Buying tickets online has its bad points, however. The most common is confusing which pier you should go to and missing your river tour.

“I once bought tickets online to save with the discount that the website offered,” said Igor Shvarkin from Moscow. “The pier was initially marked as ‘Park Kultury,’ but when I arrived it wasn’t easy to find my boat because there were too many there. My guests had to walk a considerable distance before I finally found the vessel that accepted my tickets purchased online,” said the man.

There are two main boarding piers in the city center:  Hotel Ukraine  and  Park Kultury . Always take note of your particular berth when buying tickets online.

Where to sit onboard?

Even on a warm day, the headwind might be chilly for passengers on deck. Make sure you have warm clothes, or that the crew has blankets ready upon request.

The glass-encased hold makes the tour much more comfortable, but not at the expense of having an enjoyable experience.

Getting off the boat requires preparation as well. Ideally, you should be able to disembark on any pier along the way. In reality, passengers never know where the boat’s captain will make the next stop. Street hawkers often tell passengers in advance where they’ll be able to disembark. If you buy tickets online then you’ll have to research it yourself.

Food is very expensive,very pretentious, doesn't worth that money. Portions are very small. We ordered ravioli and there were 4! Four raviolis! For almost 15 euros. Then we asked to bring us dessert menu but nothing, they didn't even bothered, so we payed and left... without dessert. Very poor service for that price. More

Visited this lovely restaurant with a friend of mine. It was relaxingly warm August evening - so the place on the river seemed like a good idea. We came quite early and the restaurant was not full. The hostesses kindly offered several places to sit... and we chose to sit on the sofas. We had some wine, which was good. We struggled a bit when deciding about the food as few options (scallops) were not available. Fish on ice on display did not look very fresh. To be honest it was an unusually hot August and it is probably understandable that some see food options were not available. However, we did manage to order something and sat waiting and looking onto the river. My long-legged friend struggled sitting at the low sofa and the manager noticed that, offering as a very good, proper table beside the open window. It was nice touch and I was very pleased by their polite observations and immediate reaction to solve the problem. Food was quite good and presentation was perfect. Perhaps I can something about the food, but 1 visit is not enough to criticize or make a definitive opinion. Overall, quality place, which of course, does not come cheap. I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation. More

Motor Yacht

The external profile of this vessel has been designed by Omega Architects, in close collaboration with the CRN Engineering Department which developed the naval project, while their interiors have been created by Droulers Architecture, which has worked in close collaboration with the shipyard’s Interiors and Design Office.

The new megayacht, the first to be built by CRN on the new naval platform of 12.50 metres in width, is characterized by sleek, slender and sporty lines, which make the profile particularly streamlined. With 5 decks, M/Y CRN 132 73 m can host up to 12 guests in its six cabins, including the Owner Suite and Vip cabins, together with a crew of 22 members.

The construction of this new jewel of the sea, which includes the best design solutions realized by CRN, has required around 430,000 hours of work from the shipyard workers and subcontractors and the daily contribution of over 150 direct and indirect workers.

YALLA hit the water in 2014 at the CRN shipyard in Ancona. She was built under the shipyard build number CRN 132 is a luxurious 73-metre displacement vessel. Spreading over four spacious and magnificent decks, the this 73-metre vessel offers accommodation for up to 12 guests in six deluxe staterooms overnight, including the sumptuous Owner Suite and Vip staterooms. There is also accommodation for a numerous and highly trained crew of 22 members, taking care of guests every need with exceptional attention to detail and guests on board.

YALLA Specifications

YALLA was designed with numerous exceptional design solutions to promote on board entertainment, social life and relaxation. One of the main features must be the onboard wellness situated on the lower deck, that includes a beach club, large swimming pool as well as a well-equipped fitness area.

Made of steel and aluminium, YALLA is fitter with twin Caterpillar 3512B diesel engines. She is ABS classed and MCA compliant.

Off the Hook Yachts Acquires 300-Slip Marina in Georgetown Maryland  

The Acquisition 

Off the Hook Yachts is proud to announce the acquisition of Georgetown Yacht Basin (GYB) now rebranding under Georgetown Yacht Haven – a 300-boat slip full-service marina located on the Sassafras River in Georgetown, MD.  Off the Hook plans to restore the yacht basin to its former glory and reconnect with the local community in order to establish it as a household name in the area. 

As our founder is originally from Maryland, this will complement our current presence in the area, along with our MD sales team, which currently operates out of Bay Bridge Marina. The acquisition of the marina will allow us to expand on sales, service, and custom-built Nor-Tech Performance Boat sales in the region. Georgetown Yacht Haven has 300 slips, two paint sheds that can hold up to a 110-foot yacht, a 110-ton travel lift, a fuel dock, a swimming pool, bathhouses, and a complete ship store, along with many other amenities. GYH controls the largest travel lift in Northern Chesapeake Bay.

Cocoa Bean is built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, she comfortably cruises at 14 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 15 knots with a range of up to 6,000 nautical miles from her 242,266 litre fuel tanks at 13 knots. An advanced stabilisation system on board reduces the side-to-side roll of the yacht and promises guests exceptional comfort levels at anchor or when underway.

Cocoa Bean knows a thing or two about fun on the water, with a selection of water toys and accessories for you and your guests to enjoy whilst on charter. Take to the sea on the Jet Skis offering you power and control on the water. Also there are waterskis that are hugely entertaining whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro. Additionally, there are two kayaks - a tranquil and relaxing way to pass the time. 73m superyacht Yalla launched by CRN

Italian yacht builder CRN has launched its 73m superyacht Yalla .

CRN welcomed more than 1,000 guests to the launching ceremony of CRN 132 Yalla , held late this morning at its shipyard in Ancona, Italy. The launch ceremony included speeches from Alberto Galassi, new CEO of the Ferretti Group , Lamberto Tacoli, Chairman and CEO of CRN, Xinyu Xu, Vice-chairman of Weichai Group, and the Mayor of Ancona Valeria Mancinelli.

Part of the Ferretti Group,  CRN  specialises in custom yachts up to 90 metres in steel and aluminium. Yalla is the first yacht built by CRN on its new 12.5m beam platform. More than 430,000 hours from CRN and its subcontractors were spent on Yalla 's build, with contributions from 150 employees.

Exterior styling comes from Omega Architects in The Netherlands, in close collaboration with the CRN Engineering Department. The five-deck motor yacht features sleek, sporty lines and a streamlined profile. Superyacht Yalla 's interiors are by Droulers Architecture, working with CRN's Interiors and Design Office. She hosts up to 12 guests in its six cabins, including an owner's suite and VIP cabins, along with 22 crew members.

'Following the launch of CRN 133 61m superyacht a few months ago, we are proud to celebrate the launch of the new Yalla of 73m, which represents a challenge and an objective for the whole CRN shipyard,' says Lamberto Tacoli, Chairman and CEO of CRN. ' Yalla will mark another important result for the development of CRN in the world. The Ferretti Group currently has five superyachts underway at the Ancona shipyard, including the 74m CRN 131, 55m CRN 134, a Ferretti Custom Line CL 124, the 61m CRN 133 and the Riva 122 Mythos , which are at the delivery stage.

Strange Glow Over Moscow Skies Triggers Panic as Explosions Reported

B right flashes lit up the night sky in southern Moscow in the early hours of Thursday morning, new footage appears to show, following reports of an explosion at an electrical substation on the outskirts of the city.

Video snippets circulating on Russian-language Telegram channels show a series of flashes on the horizon of a cloudy night sky, momentarily turning the sky a number of different colors. In a clip shared by Russian outlet MSK1.ru, smoke can be seen rising from a building during the flashes lighting up the scene.

Newsweek was unable to independently verify the details of the video clips, including when and where it was filmed. The Russian Ministry of Emergency situations has been contacted via email.

Several Russian Telegram accounts said early on Thursday that residents of southern Moscow reported an explosion and a fire breaking out at an electrical substation in the Leninsky district, southeast of central Moscow.

Local authorities in the Leninsky district told Russian outlet RBC that the explosion had happened in the village of Molokovo. "All vital facilities are operating as normal," Leninsky district officials told the outlet.

The incident at the substation in Molokovo took place just before 2 a.m. local time, MSK1.ru reported.

Messages published by the ASTRA Telegram account, run by independent Russian journalists, appear to show residents close to the substation panicking as they question the bright flashes in the sky. One local resident describes seeing the bright light before losing access to electricity, with another calling the incident a "nightmare."

More than 10 villages and towns in the southeast of Moscow lost access to electricity, the ASTRA Telegram account also reported. The town of Lytkarino to the southeast of Moscow, lost electricity, wrote the eastern European-based independent outlet, Meduza.

Outages were reported in the southern Domodedovo area of the city, according to another Russian outlet, as well as power failures in western Moscow. Electricity was then restored to the areas, the Strana.ua outlet reported.

The cause of the reported explosion is not known. A Telegram account aggregating news for the Lytkarino area described the incident as "an ordinary accident at a substation."

The MSK1.ru outlet quoted a local resident who speculated that a drone may have been responsible for the explosion, but no other Russian source reported this as a possible cause.

Ukraine has repeatedly targeted Moscow with long-range aerial drones in recent months, including a dramatic wave of strikes in late May.

On Sunday, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said the region's air defense systems had intercepted an aerial drone over the city of Elektrostal, to the east of Moscow. No damage or casualties were reported, he said.

The previous day, Russian air defenses detected and shot down another drone flying over the Bogorodsky district, northeast of central Moscow, Sobyanin said.

There is currently no evidence that an aerial drone was responsible for the reported overnight explosion at the electrical substation in southern Moscow.
