Codecasa launches Vero, a Codecasa 24 full custom

On 18 December in Viareggio, the Codecasa Shipyards launched Vero, a Codecasa 24 which is the Shipyard’s F242 construction. This splendid yacht is a unique model and was entirely customised and passionately built exclusively for an Asian client introduced by Carmen Lau of Camper & Nicholsons Asia. Codecasa 24, designed by Luca Dini

This motoryacht has classic lines designed by Florentine yacht designer Luca Dini and a decidedly timeless elegance reminiscent of the dayboats of yesteryear.

The aluminium hull was designed by Francesco Rogantin’s Studio Names in collaboration with Cantieri Codecasa and guarantees excellent performance. Powered by 2 MAN D2862LE426 V12 1550 Hp at 2,300 rpm this new Codecasa Shipyards yacht can reach a maximum speed of 25 knots and has a range of over 2,000 miles at 9 knots. 

Comfortably interiors

The interior features a saloon and owner’s cabin on the deck and, below deck, three guest cabins as well as two twin cabins for the crew. The comfortable spaces, both inside and outside the yacht, guarantee pleasant moments of conviviality and relaxation on board.

This completely One-Off Yacht, whose construction involved the Builder’s Team of Cantieri Navali Codecasa led by Project Manager Roberto Dalle Mura, assisted by Gabriele Codecasa and Matteo Buonomo, in collaboration with the Owner’s Surveyors, Eng. Sara Maggi and Daniela Duck of Camper & Nicholsons, is a perfect balance between past and present. The elegance and refinement of this yacht will certainly not go unnoticed.

Jotun and Codecasa – a classic combination

Codecasa project manager roberto dalle mura explains why they choose jotun for their paintwork….

In the success of a company, investments play a key role and must always be accompanied by purposeful choices. When it comes to yachting and shipyards, the departments involved in the construction of a yacht are numerous, and for the success of the vessel, they need to be highly specialised. In this landscape, paint has gained importance, and today many companies have set their sights on high-end results.

Now, let us ask: why is paint so important? It is now generally agreed that the paint job on yachts is a crucial aspect of their beauty. Whether yachts are made of fibreglass, metal or any other construction type, a good paint job characterises their appearance, protects them from the marine environment and increases their value. Boats are constantly exposed to the elements and are subject to the corrosive action of salt spray, which can cause wear and tear over time. Careful painting can significantly extend the life of the boat, ensuring optimal conditions for many years and enabling the shipyard to meet the customer’s highest expectations for longevity.

We broached the subject with Roberto Dalle Mura, Codecasa project manager, to understand the choices of one of the world’s most renowned shipyards, which enters 2024 with nearly 200 years of history behind it. His opinion is that paint has taken on significant importance in boating and that executing it to perfection adds value to the boat. During the launch, the beauty and brightness of the paint job are the first things that catch the eye, at a time when everyone’s expectations are high. 

“This is why a good paint job has to turn out aesthetically and qualitatively perfect, and the effort and energy that go into this process are considerable. During the staging phase, we optimise all processing procedures and follow up with the plasterers to ensure an optimal end result.”

Added to this is the importance of the raw material: choosing the right supplier that ensures an excellent product is crucial, as is the know-how of the applicator who must be trained and thoroughly familiar with all the characteristics of the paints used. Among all the brands on the market, Codecasa has chosen Jotun products since 2020 thanks to the specific request of a shipowner who, after being fascinated by the colour of a yacht in the harbour, had decided he wanted it for his own as well.

“We initiated a lot of research and eventually discovered that the paint was Jotun’s Aquila White. We were impressed that the effect of the white was so beautiful that it looked like ceramic. From that moment, here at Codecasa Shipyard, we wanted to rely on the quality of Jotun products for all stages of painting: MegaCote, MegaFiller, MegaFiller Smooth, MegaPrimer, MegaPrimer Lite and MegaGloss AC.”

Choosing a paint product must take into consideration several variables: durability, colour, finish, application method and brand reputation. Dalle Mura emphasises that Codecasa’s choice was Jotun “also because of the customer service that employs skilled workers at the highest level. We have great confidence in them because their assistance is immediate. Their advisors are always available, and they come periodically to analyse the progress of the work. In a nutshell, I can say that Jotun has the best customer service.”

Jotun products will soon stand out on the new 24-metre Classic lines, the first unit of which was recently launched, and 34-metre Classic yacht. The other Codecasa vessels, already launched and painted with Jotun products, are 56-metre M/Y Framura and M/Y My Legacy , 58-metre M/Y Kathryn and the 43-metre M/Y Boji .

Construction update: Hull turned on Codecasa's 24m Gentleman's Yacht

Italian yard Codecasa has announced a construction update on its 24 metre Gentleman's Yacht project, confirming a scheduled delivery date for summer 2023. 

Newly released images show that the aluminium hull has already been turned at the builder's Viareggio facilities.

The all-aluminium yacht had been penned in by Luca Dini Design & Architecture in collaboration with Names Studio naval architect Francesco Rogantin and Kurt Lehmann of Yacht Moments.

The yacht's style is reminiscent of classic yachts from the 1950s and 60s. Mahogany wood inserts give the vessel a timeless feel, while the design is outfitted with "the latest technological innovations," according to the yard.

Speaking about the design, Luca Dini said: “The idea was to transform a piece of nautical history into something exclusive.

“Yachts from the 50s immediately take me back to when I was a child. So, I wanted to create something that, just by looking at it, made me relive moments of my childhood.”

Fulvio Codecasa described the project as “characterised by noble elegance and refined design”.

The yacht, which pairs traditional maritime style with modern features, will be available in a limited run of 10 hulls and is aimed towards owners “looking for something different.”

Key exterior features include “glossy mahogany flanks and wooden surfaces” and “chrome-plated steel finishes.” Special attention has been paid to maximising the beach club aft. The custom tender meanwhile is stored on the main deck and deployed using a hidden crane.

Accommodation on board is for a total of eight guests in four guest cabins, with two cabins for crew. The interior is available in two themes; traditional and contemporary. The traditional theme includes wooden panels, white lacquered ceilings and wooden details. Other materials include chocolate and taupe leather with navy blue fabrics.

The Gentleman's Yacht will be able to hit top speeds of 25 knots under power, offering a cruising range of 2,100 nautical miles at nine knots.

Pleasantly surprised, service is good so is the food. Great selection of Fusion food, a mixture of Italian, Japanese, European, Asian etc. A pleasantly nice dining experience, highly recommended, a must try!

Best food, best view in Moscow. absolutely faultless from arrival to finish. Best risotto i had for many years absolutely perfectly cooked. The view on Ukrainian hotel and the white house by night is amazing

Had to wait for the food for 1.5 hours and then another 20 minutes for the check. Finally called for the manager and he offered... a 10% discount as a compensation. Simply pathetic! The food is mediocre at best. Not bad per se, but one... would expect something better considering the prices. There are many places to eat in area that are much better. Avoid this one at all costs. Food is very expensive,very pretentious, doesn't worth that money. Portions are very small. We ordered ravioli and there were 4! Four raviolis! For almost 15 euros. Then we asked to bring us dessert menu but nothing, they didn't even bothered, so we payed and left... without dessert. Very poor service for that price. More

This is a very good restaurant. The food is really good, maybe the best in Moscow. The service is also good. The view from the restaurant is great. The prices are very high.

I often visit this restaurant and must say it’s one of the best in Moscow in terms of quality and service. Staff really try hard to make sure that you are happy and satisfied. Customer service is a huge problem in Moscow but Chaika sets... a great example for others in the industry! Food is delicious and the menu has lots of options for everyone! Visited this lovely restaurant with a friend of mine. It was relaxingly warm August evening - so the place on the river seemed like a good idea. We came quite early and the restaurant was not full. The hostesses kindly offered several places to sit... and we chose to sit on the sofas. We had some wine, which was good. We struggled a bit when deciding about the food as few options (scallops) were not available. Fish on ice on display did not look very fresh. To be honest it was an unusually hot August and it is probably understandable that some see food options were not available. However, we did manage to order something and sat waiting and looking onto the river. My long-legged friend struggled sitting at the low sofa and the manager noticed that, offering as a very good, proper table beside the open window. It was nice touch and I was very pleased by their polite observations and immediate reaction to solve the problem. Food was quite good and presentation was perfect. Perhaps I can something about the food, but 1 visit is not enough to criticize or make a definitive opinion. Overall, quality place, which of course, does not come cheap. I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation. More

The luxurious atmosphere of this place, the view and the location make it quite outstanding. We had dinner here with friends and the dishes were amazing, accompanied by a chilled bottle of Chablis, it really made me feel as if it was a part of... the classic Russian movie. More
