Call of Duty App
The all-new Call of Duty App gives players a second screen experience designed to work hand-in-hand with Call of Duty: Ghosts.
Download the Call of Duty App:
- Call of Duty Ghosts App (Android)
- Call of Duty Ghosts App (iTunes)
Created by Beachhead Studio, the app offers some of the best and most popular features from Call of Duty Elite, along with a host of new features, and adds a new dimension to Ghosts by allowing fans to stay connected to the console experience wherever they go. From the app, players will have the power to edit their squad pre-match, have one-touch access to change loadouts before your next spawn while in match, as well as view and share after-action results with friends on Facebook and Twitter, and more.
The new Call of Duty App is deeply integrated with Call of Duty: Ghosts and will launch alongside it this November on tablet and mobile devices, and all app features will be available on current and next generation consoles.

Official Call Of Duty: Ghosts Companion App For iOS, Android And Windows Phone Released [Download Now]
It’s hard to believe that it’s been a year since the previous installment of Call of Duty was thrusted into our lives. For the sake of wiping away any worry that you may have, we are happy to report that Activision hasn’t just been sitting on the profits from previous iterations of the title, but instead have been hard at work alongside Infinity Ward to produce the latest in the series. Incase you managed to miss the announcement, Call of Duty: Ghosts officially became available today and has been released alongside a companion mobile app that is available for Android, iOS and Windows Phone 8 devices.
We have to give credit where credit is due for this one. Not only has Activision been fighting against crucial deadlines to get Call of Duty: Ghosts ready to ship on time, but they have also managed to work closely with their development partners to get the companion app into the Play, App and Windows Phone Store on day one.
The launch of an app of this nature is something that gamers are beginning to expect, especially when it comes to first person shooters. The mobile based software essentially acts as a localized social network of sorts that allows clans of gamers to communicate with one another outside of the actual multiplayer arena. Each individual clan member’s statistics are readily available for each app user to see as well as offering the ability for the gamer to adjust the equipment and weapons that they go to war with.
Leaders of individual clans can also exercise their ultimate ruling power by changing clan emblems directly from within the app. It’s also pretty awesome to see that Activision has gone a little further than the previously released ELITE app by including a nifty little in-app game that pits your clan against others in a no holds barred turf war. The app is available to download immediately from the iOS App Store and offers compatibility with any iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or above.
Everything seems rosy in the Call of Duty iOS world whereas Android users may find themselves being a little disappointed. We’re hearing reports that the app works seamlessly on a number of recently released hardware pieces but immediately throws up compatibility warnings on devices like the Galaxy Nexus and some HTC devices. If Call of Duty: Ghosts is on your immediate agenda then check out the links below for the official app.

He’s the man of the hour, back again to haunt your screens, it’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Ghost. Yes, the unfortunate recipient of General Shepherd’s betrayal has been confirmed as returning to life in Modern Warfare Season 2. The official announcement is now up and we know how to get Ghost in COD: Modern Warfare. In the (ghostly) spirit of giving, we’re here to share that information with you.
Ghost’s inclusion had already been teased by Activision , but now we have the details on him officially. You can get Ghost in Modern Warfare simply by purchasing the Season 2 Battle Pass. The official Call of Duty website confirms the details, explaining that Ghost is unlocked immediately and comes with a special operator mission.
“Purchase the Battle Pass to get access to unlock up to 100 Tiers of content featuring over 100 items you can get by just playing,” the Season 2 post explains . “Unlocked at Tier 0, get Ghost alongside additional goods including a new Operator Mission instantly after picking up the Battle Pass. Simon “Ghost” Riley first originated in Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 2 and is a British special forces Operator and a commanding officer in Captain Price’s Task Force 141. He is an expert at clandestine tradecraft, sabotage, and infiltration. Alongside Ghost, players who purchase the Battle Pass will have access to weapon blueprints, XP tokens, Operator skins and challenges, watches, and the ability to earn up to 1,300 Call of Duty Points. “
Ghost isn’t the only new operator arriving. The details on the pass also state that Talon and Mace will be added during the Season. The former is a Canadian Special Forces member, while the latter is a former US Ranger who’s now a gun for hire. Naturally, there’s plenty more for players to unlock by levelling up the pass, including blueprints, skins, challenges, watches and more. The free pass also adds new weapons like the Grau 5.56 assault rifle and the Striker 45 SMG.
So if you want to get Ghost in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, all you need to do is buy the Season 2 battle pass which is out now for 1000 CP, or roughly $10.

Call of Duty: Ghosts
Call of Duty: Ghosts for Windows
The specter of war
Set in the context of a global economic crisis, several South American oil producing states band together to form the Federation, a new superpower that will use its dominant position to turn against the United States. Call of Duty: Ghosts clumsily tries to strike a chord using this plot line by telling the story of two brothers and their German Shepherd who find themselves engaged in a battle to reclaim their homeland, despite themselves.
A pretty uninteresting solo campaign
Like its predecessors , the single player campaign in Call of Duty: Ghosts gets its cues from the cinematic extravaganza that hits viewers between the eyes in the first few minutes of play. It really does explode in all directions: bullets fly, blood spurts, and it's a real assault on the senses, with no time to catch your breath. The single player campaign leaves very little room for interaction, which is pretty strange for a video game.
If it ain't broke...
Trigger addicts can rest assured, Call of Duty: Ghosts doesn't drastically change their beloved multiplayer mode.
Among the new features, there are 14 new maps, the ability to slide on the ground, a new customization system with nearly 20,000 different options, female avatars, 7 new game modes, and 20 new Killstreaks (bonuses that reward the number of enemies killed) one of which is the war dogs.
As is common for the series, Call of Duty: Ghosts doesn't leave much room for tactics. Rather, the player's reflexes, memory, and skills will be rewarded.
I tested Call of Duty: Ghosts on Playstation 3 and I must admit I wasn't especially impressed by the graphics of the game. With its low resolution textures and fixed facial animations, Call of Duty: Ghosts is not best suited to current generation consoles. Fortunately, the particle effects, the distorted maps, and Riley the dog's animations come together to raise its game to some extent.
Verdict: Ghostly pallor
With Call of Duty: Ghosts, Infinity Ward delivers a mess of disparate experiences with pretty patchy quality. The multiplayer mode, the major asset of the saga, is enhanced with subtle improvements that come together to perfect a game mechanic that has already proven itself, without taking enough risk to make a long term impression.
- Great multiplayer unchanged
- Excellent Extinction mode
- Still too rigid
- Few new features

Awsome game. Superb game... One of my favorite Game this game has a nice graphics and very addictive Pros: Graphic Story line
Good game!. Good game! But looks good graphics just looks a strange game but surely that can already play :)
ridiculous. this is so ridiculous Pros: nothing Cons: everything
The unveiling Black Ops II sequel to its dramatic ending.. The sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops II and it's a lot of different plans and the me chanincs. The story sets in 2026, where it was after the 2025 2nd Cold War. USA isn't a super-power country anymore; it's having a downfall and an enemy strikes back for a newer attention than before. The Federation de Americas is the main enemy of this game. Pros: More intensive action replays than B.O II. Inprovised 3D graphics. Cons: This game's almost the most disappointing ever in CoD History. Hard to functionalize that, it requires the most powerful GFX card and CPU card of this game. More

[new app] activision releases call of duty: ghosts companion app on day one, but it's suffering from compatibility issues.
In case you haven't seen Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, the local news, or the latest rabble-rousing speech from your ineffectual Congressman, today is the yearly release of Activision's Call of Duty franchise. Kudos to the publisher: they've managed to get the Android companion app published on day one, so half the male college students in the country can spend today's lecture time customizing their multiplayer loadout.
If you've played a multiplayer shooter in the last few years, you know how this goes. The CoD: Ghosts companion app allows you to adjust your weapons and equipment outside of multiplayer matches and communicate with your clan members in a limited social network, as well as see each other's stats. (This new app, simply titled "Call of Duty," seems to have replaced the older ELITE app for Ghosts. The latter hasn't been updated since July.) Clan leaders can also create or adjust clan emblems.
There's also a meta-game included in the app, Clan Wars, where your clan will face off against seven others in a long-term turf war. There's no direct gameplay, but the better your individual clan does, the more likely you are to expand territory. Winning in Clan Wars will net you extra experience and some in-game unlocks.
Of course, that's all contingent upon your ability to actually use the app. Right now we're seeing it listed as compatible with a lot of mainstream devices, including the Nexus 4 and 5, Galaxy S4, and Galaxy Note 3. But other major phones are not supported, including the new DROIDs, the Galaxy Nexus, and possibly the HTC One. Tablet support seems extremely spotty: the Nexus 7 (both models), Nexus 10, and newer Samsung tablets are out, while the old Galaxy Tab 10.1 is in. This sort of extremely scattershot compatibility is unfortunately common when big-name console publishers come to the Play Store.

Call of Duty: Ghosts – still full of memorable moments
Call of Duty: Ghosts is one of the most maligned entries in the first-person shooter series, and for some, the first time when cracks started to appear after a string of rock solid entries that preceded it.
The first Call of Duty to be released on Xbox One and with Infinity Ward spearheading the game for the first time since Modern Warfare 2 , Ghosts’ dramatic and sombre trailer hinted at a more serious and story-driven entry into the series, far different from what we had seen from any CoD before.
When it first went on sale in November 2013, Ghosts did not get as thunderous a reception as previous entries had; critics lamented its lack of innovation, online options and new ideas, while players found it unmemorable, too easy and gimmicky. To the faithful, this will always be remembered as the Call of Duty game with a level in space and where you can play as a dog .
That said, while there is not much here that hasn’t already been done before, Call of Duty: Ghosts does deliver a solid experience and may have suffered from the changing of player habits, coming from a time when more and more were focusing on the online multiplayer experience over more story-centric campaigns.
The story takes place in war-torn 2024, where the Federation of the Americas has invaded and occupied all of South and Central America, leaving the USA on the frontline. With resources dwindling to hold off the threat of invasion Elias Walker, leader of a former special ops unit known as the Ghosts, gets the band back together in order to bring down the Federation from behind enemy lines, along with his sons Hesh and Logan, the game’s playable character.
By far the most jingoistic and overly serious backdrops in the series, the story of Ghosts has the distinction of being described as “ one of the most right-wing premises in video game history” – by Fox News.
With a script by Stephen Gaghan , acclaimed screenwriter of Traffic and Syriana, Ghosts has more of a focus on story than previous Call of Duty games, only it doesn’t quite achieve the emotional resonance it aspires to. While there is some strength in the relationship between Elias and his sons, it does not explore any emotional issues of him leading his only family into a war zone, while the plot developments are highly predictable. The game’s villain, Rorke, does cut a menacing presence but is still too generic to match other CoD antagonists – Makarov he is not.
Call of Duty: Ghosts doesn’t really play any differently from any other Call of Duty game , presumably Infinity Ward felt there was no need to mess with a winning formula, and in many cases they were right. In that way it can feel generic but may also mean players may be looking for innovation for other elements while gameplay remains solid – maybe why this game came under such scrutiny.
For the most part Ghosts’ campaign almost feels like Call of Duty going back to its roots; pure first-person gameplay. The first mission proper, Brave New World, is an effectively chilling start to the campaign as Logan and his brother emerge from underground to the ruins of Los Angeles, moving around the destroyed buildings underneath a sky sky full of ash clouds.
There are other memorable moments such as in Federation Day, where you infiltrate a government building during a mass public celebration outside; and Atlas Falls, a race against time to blow up an oil rig. The highlight of the campaign is Legends Never Die, continuously tense and fast-paced with constantly changing locations and with an effective emotional core.
The action here begins with a firefight on the streets to a flooded tower block, where you can either shoot enemies out or sneak around them underwater, before the tension builds as you have to try and escape as an enemy dam collapses around you. The remainder of the campaign often falls into gimmicks – the helicopter level, an underwater stage – before becoming so straightforward the last four missions can all be completed within an hour.
A decade or so on and Call of Duty: Ghosts can feel a bit like a diversion in the series (A planned sequel was cancelled in the wake of its mediocre reception), but it does enough well with some memorable moments that deliver a unique experience in the series to still make it worth playing. For those who haven’t yet played, it’s available on the Xbox Store and Steam, while physical copies can be found affordably in all the usual places.
You can play Call of Duty: Ghosts on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S.

All DLC maps work
Some audio cuts during the Loading Screens. Enable Subtitles to read the cut dialog
Using GE-Proton8-25 gave me MAJOR stutters in the Campaign so use the default Proton version which Steam recommends and you'll have 0 stutters. Multiplayer has the same issues on both ends so use GE-Proton8-25 in everything else except the Campaign and use the launch option RADV_PERFTEST=gpl %command%. People claim this Launch Option solves the stutter but it did not for me. Still stutters but slightly shorter maybe. Once you play on the same map a few times, the stutters will go away entirely
Regular online MP matches and Extinction played flawlessly. Shader stutter is there but goes away after you've been on that map a couple of times
Solid 60FPS with maxed out graphics. Left Anti-Aliasing on off and Fur on off. Anti-Aliasing does impact performance but idk about the Fur part
(Only tested the Singleplayer): Game works pretty good "out of the box". Just make sure you enable gyro. On max setting, 60 fps was pretty stable. Finally this game does come with controller support, so no need to tinker with config files.
Game stutters significantly by default, but some small commands make it playable.
Significant stuttering without any launch options through Valve's default Proton distributions.
RADV_PERFTEST=gpl is a required launch command for this game. It uses a newer shader compiler that is much faster and therefore eliminates stuttering. The game stutters so poorly without this that it is unplayable. After using GameMode, RADV_PERFTEST=gpl, and GE-Proton, the experience is no different from Windows.
Game works fine, as it should.
Slight stuttering when the level was loading stuff in it
Game works just fine, with some slight stutters when things were loading. I added DXVK_ASYNC to mitigate this, and so far it's a lot less noticeable.
Frame rate is capped at 90fps no matter what, even with DXVK framerate options
You wouldn't be able to tell you're on Linux
You really need ProtonGE with RADV_PERFTEST=gpl %command% otherwise the stutter is pretty bad. But once you do get that setup, you can't tell it apart from windows
DXVK_ASYNC is a must. MAJOR stuttering without ASYNC enabled, but game runs good with it enabled.
MAJOR stuttering in multiplayer without DXVK_ASYNC enabled. Game is borderline unplayable with the amount of stuttering.
Small amounts of stuttering still with DXVK_ASYNC enabled, but game is very playable and runs and looks fine otherwise.
Good, but with artefacts, without GE and launch options, is impossible to play
Really slow to load texture, black hole in the screen occasionally
Freez, stuttering, lag
Works well out of the box
if you dont mind the subpar performance it works great. X labs mod runs fine
performance is far worse than on windows other than that it works fine
Significant performance issues first time playing. Enabled async and most stuttering ceased
The huge stuttering issues may throw most people off, but once you play through a level, there will be way less stutters next time.
When you disconnect a keyboard, you can no longer control your character with the controller. Which shouldn't really happen on normal playthroughs anyway.
(Tested only Extinction) There are huge stutters when playing for the first time on a level. After you walk around it and let Proton do its thing, the stutters will be gone next time you go through the same areas after restarting the game. Other than that, the game seems to run at a stable 60fps at relatively high settings when not plagued by stutters.
(Tested Extinction only, solo) The game requires you to be online to play (you need to be connected to their servers), and that part worked just fine.
The game runs But it's garbage frame stuters, super low fps
I cannot recemend playing it on linux
Game crashes before starting some specific missions besides will work mostly fine (AMD FSR TESTED) but very frequent framedrops
Not a great PC port but it runs and looks about the same as Windows.
Proton-6.18-GE-2, gamemoderun %command%
Initially input was very delayed, but a game restart seems to have fixed it.
Upon the first launch the game ran 20-30FPS but after a game restart it went back up to the 90FPS framerate cap.
I played the Squads gamemode using 1440p Ultra settings (Other than FXAA, no depth of field, no motion blur, no dynamic fur).
It initially ran very poorly, (20-30FPS, heavy input lag) however after a game restart it went back up to the 90FPS lock that the game has. There was some stuttering but most of it is present on Windows too.
Runs relatively well. Could be better.
Graphics quality was unusually bad. Vsyncs to 60 on a 75 Hz display (mode set correctly in settings)
Stutters every now and then. Medium settings

set PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 %command% as launch options, the game ran smooth for me after that
Turns out setting PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 %command% in launch options resolves most of the issues. Some lag still happens now and then when loading new areas but the game doesn't crash anymore after every single player mission
Game crashes after every single player mission, graphics have to be on medium, frequent freezes of the game when it loads a new area
Resolution and textures seem blurred due to the low settings needed for the game to even be playable.
Graphics have to be set on medium in order to have a somewhat playable state. The game sometimes freezes for a few seconds to load everything in, altough the graphics.
The game crashes after every chapter of the single player campaign. REstarting the game puts you right back were you've left off, so no progression loss.
slow as hell, squads crashes the game
realy slow with min graphic settings
squads and private matches crashes the game
Everything seems to be working as far as I can tell. I didn't notice any problems.
Multiplayer tested PROTON_NO_ESYNC
Multiplayer tested only, cannot play squad. I tried disable esync and use d9vk, non of these works.
Single Player, Multiplayer work flawless after shading compiling. Biggest issue is creating a private match in multiplayer will either crash the game or If lucky return an error message, "Invalid structure definition, stats group of type 3 named Z491056b8ad1e0039ae1af4b3163ff872d147bb90852667c95affe3c7 has empty data."
Is working a bit laggy. Now with the latest proton update the mouse sometimes moves up without a reason.
Multiplayer works. Only playing a map for the first time is laggy.
I played through the entire single player campaign at 1080P with medium to high settings. I tried to do the Coop game mode (Extinction) and it crashed. The performance was OK, but I am sure It could be at least 30% better than it was. It had some frame rate dips. It also crashed a few times. I was able to start the game in safe mode if I needed to. The game performance has been improving with every major version of Proton (4.2 is the best!) I also turned off some shader options that speed up loading up a level.
Works well out of the box, but the shader cache stuttering is pretty bad sometimes making it somewhat unplayable the first time.
Multiplayer can't run at all. When I run this game, it will crash all time.
Audio crackling and (random?) crashes when changing settings are the biggest issues i found. Also takes a bit for the shader cache to build so can be quite choppy in the beginning. The game runs pretty well when cache is built.
I mainly played the campaign part of COD:Ghosts. There were mainly performance issues, such as dropped framerates at some points of high graphics load such as the start or when finally start one level. However, I could play and manage to play very well after 30 seconds of loading (sometimes the game stutters a little). If you haven't any problem of drops, you can play it here!
Graphics quality is not good enough as it should be
frame drops in 720p low, playable

10 Best-Selling Call Of Duty Games
- The Call of Duty franchise is the best-selling first-person shooter video game series, with over 400 million games sold.
- The most successful games in the franchise include Black Ops , Modern Warfare , and Black Ops Cold War , each selling over 30 million copies.
- The popularity of the Call of Duty series is attributed to its diverse gameplay modes, compelling storylines, and iconic moments that resonate with fans.
The Call of Duty franchise has been ingrained in popular discourse since its inception in 2003, and it has produced one of the most devoted and diehard fan bases in the entire gaming community. The Call of Duty franchise earned a place in the Guinness World Records in April 2021 as the best-selling first-person shooter video game series, with over 400 million games sold at that time. In the years since that achievement, sales numbers have continued to grow, and the enjoyment that players have for the series remains.
The series as a whole has enjoyed quite a bit of success, with each separate title seeing its own varying levels of triumph. COD currently has 20 games in its main series lineup, with an astonishing 51 titles when all DLC and mobile games are added to that list, as of November 2023. Each game with COD in its title has sold many copies for various platforms. Here are the top-selling games in the franchise, with the most recent data available at the time of writing.
"Warfare That Feels Dated" - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Review
Call of duty: wwii (2017), over 19 million copies sold.
Call of Duty: WWII was released on Nov. 3, 2017, and is the second title to be set in World War II, following World at War in 2008. This game had all the standard game modes that fans usually enjoy, like a campaign and multiplayer online. It also had a rendition of Nazi zombies with an intricate plot that was more than just surviving as many rounds as possible. As of October 2019, the game had sold 19.82 million copies (per Statista ); a number which has most certainly risen in the last few years.
Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare (2014)
Over 21 million copies sold.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was released on Nov. 4, 2014, as the 11th major installment in the video game franchise. As of October 2019, the game had sold 21.78 million copies. One difference about this game was its campaign only had one playable character, as opposed to previous games that would weave their story around multiple playable characters. This appealed to some players who wanted a more linear story.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009)
Over 25 million copies sold.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 from 2009 is one of the most popular first-person shooter games ever . It was officially released on Nov. 10, 2009, and gave fans some of the most iconic moments in the franchise. The campaign was loved, as Ghost's death is still one of the most heart-wrenching movements in gaming history. The thought and effort that went into the story of the campaign was appreciated by fans, which was shown in the sale numbers.
Call Of Duty: Which MW2 Is Actually Better
It also gave fans iconic maps like Terminal and Rust. It is still up for debate whether the 2022 remake is as good as the original, but both are unconditionally loved by the fan base. As of October 2019, 25.02 copies of the 2009 game have been sold.
Call Of Duty: Black Ops III (2015)
Over 26 million copies sold.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III was released on Nov. 5, 2015, as the 12th major release in the history of the franchise. One of the biggest draws to this game was the fact that the campaign was able to be played as a co-op. So, friends can complete the campaign missions together, which helped contribute to its sales.
There is a mode that players can unlock that replaces all the enemies in the campaign with zombies, which is the first time this was ever done. Although certain achievements are difficult to unlock, fans of the previous Black Ops installments were overall pleased with this game. In 2019, a reported 26.72 copies of CoD: Black Ops 3 had been sold.
Call Of Duty: Ghosts (2013)
Over 28 million copies sold.
Call of Duty: Ghosts is the 10th major installment in the series and was officially released on Nov. 5, 2013. Ghosts came right after the very popular Black Ops II, so fans were primed to buy anything Call of Duty released at the time of Ghosts launch. That game introduced some new concepts, like being able to play as a German Shepherd in the campaign, but fans were also slightly disappointed with its recycled use of the campaign's format and structure.
Ghosts did advertise a new game mode called Extinction , which saw the player fight alien creatures and most likely helped drive up sales. By 2019, CoD: Ghosts had reported 28.8 million sales, only slightly less than Black Ops 2 .
Call Of Duty: Black Ops II (2012)
Over 29 million copies sold.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II serves as one of the most successful sequels in the series. It was released on Nov. 12, 2012, and was nearly as successful as the first Black Ops game. Fans got to play the same two protagonists as had appeared in the first Black Ops , as well as the son of one of the playable characters. Black Ops 2 was the first Call of Duty game for the Nintendo Wii U, which helped sales a bit, but the game was primarily played on PlayStation and Xbox platforms. As of 2019, CoD: Black Ops II had seen 29.59 million copies sold.
Will Call Of Duty Still Be Available On PlayStation?
Call of duty: black ops cold war (2020), over 30 million copies sold.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was released on Nov. 13, 2020, as the 17th major installment of the franchise. Black Ops is the most popular series in Call of Duty, so anything under that title had a good start simply due to its heritage. The setting of the game took place between Black Ops and Black Ops II , which prompted excitement about discovering what went on between two of the franchise's most popular games.
It is also interesting that perhaps the pandemic, and the fact that people were spending more time at home, could have increased sales. The biggest attribute to this game's sales, however, was the fact that Warzone was attached to it, so players could launch the battle royale from Cold War.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019)
The franchise decided to remaster one of its series as it re-released Modern Warfare on Oct. 25, 2019. It is the 16th overall installment, and a remaster of the original game of the same name from 2007. Call of Duty remastered the game in 2016 but officially released a new v
ersion in 2019. The game featured the same cast of beloved characters from the original game, like Captain John Price, and a tease at the end of the campaign revealing Soap and Ghost, signifying that there was going to be a sequel, which helped drive up sales.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2011)
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 rounded out the Modern Warfare trilogy when it was released on Nov. 8, 2011. The main sales pitch for this game was to draw up excitement for how the story ended. Makarov was one of the biggest villains in the whole franchise, which helped stir up anticipation for the rest of the story. The game also includes the Special Ops game mode, which had been introduced in Modern Warfare 2. This was a big draw as players could now complete missions solo or with a friend.
Call Of Duty: Black Ops (2010)
Over 31 million copies sold.
Call of Duty: Black Ops is the best-selling game in the franchise and was released on Nov. 10, 2010. The game technically serves as a sequel to World at War, which can help explain why it sold so well. It also had the zombies game mode for the first time since its originator. Black Ops was the first time fans were introduced to the map Nuketown, which has had several versions since its inception and is one of the most popular in the franchise. Black Ops went on to spark one of the most beloved series in the Call of Duty franchise and Activision gained unwavering support from the fan base after the success of this game.
