The vessel’s generous 1,200 GT interior is as equally stylish. Each deck follows a different theme—water, earth, or air—and can be accessed by an elegant staircase or glass elevator. The living quarters are focused on family and togetherness yet the open-plan layout ensures a sense of spaciousness. The interior also showcases exquisite cabinetwork by the yard itself. (Heesen is one of the few shipyards in the world to have its own cabinet-making company.)
The lower deck is home to a 700-square-foot, Japanese-inspired wellness area with an elliptical whirlpool, a steam room, a sauna, a gym, and a beauty area. As you may have guessed, this deck is an ode to water.
Upstairs, the main deck centers around an earth-themed salon with a striking oak coffee table and a dining area with chairs that have been upholstered in real palm leaves. Four guest suites are also located on this deck. A movable partition separates the forward suites to create a full-beam VIP or a large playroom for younger family members if so desired.
The private upper deck is dedicated to two separate owner’s suites. The decor reflects the lightness of air with soft fabrics, sky blues, mother-of-pearl inlays, and a patterned Tai Ping carpet.
Outside, the main deck aft features an open-air beach terrace, an inviting 21-foot infinity pool, and a swim platform that offers direct access to the water. The foredeck is outfitted with another lounge, while the flybridge has its own Jacuzzi. All exterior decks are dotted with furniture designed by Winch and built by Siebensee and Leerdam.
Sparta will shortly head to the North Sea for intensive sea trials. Let’s see if she’s as powerful as she is pretty, then.

Heesen Unveils its Biggest Ever Steel Superyacht: Sparta
The 220-foot ship comes with a matching custom limo tender.

Heesen has revealed first-look images of its biggest-ever steel superyacht : Sparta. Spanning 220 feet, the mammoth vessel is currently completing her final commissioning phases before she makes her way to the North Sea for rigorous trials.
The gleaming new ship – which has a maximum speed of 16 knots – features a classic “Snow-White” livery strikingly contrasted with accents of metallic red and gray.
If she looks familiar it’s probably because the design is inspired by Project Avanti – a concept unveiled by Heesen with Winch Design at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2018.

Heesen joined forces with Winch Design once again for the new project; Sparta boasts the same sleek lines and sporty profile as the Avanti concept. Other tell-tale similarities include the reverse bow, raised pilot house, and thermobonded windows from bow to stern.
Built for a private client and his family, the enormous yacht can host up to 12 guests as well as 14 crew and two members of staff. Each of the three decks – which follow a theme of earth, water or air – is accessed via the elegant oak staircase or glass elevator.

On the lower deck, Sparta boasts an expansive wellness area including an elliptical whirlpool, steam room, sauna, gym and even a ‘beauty area’.
Up on the main aft deck lies the full-beam main saloon and open-air beach terrace. Here, the family can enter the water with ease by the transformer passerelle platform or take a dip in the 21-foot infinity pool.
Four guest suites can be found on the main deck with a moveable partition separating the forward suites to create a full-beam VIP or large playroom for the kids if needed.

The private upper deck features two owner’s suites beautifully decorated in shades of pale blue with mother-of-pearl inlays, soft fabrics and patterned rugs in a nod to the ‘air’ theme.
Perhaps most exciting is the custom limo tender – a mini version of the mothership stored with the water toys behind the gullwing doors of the forward garage.

Heesen Launches 220-Foot ‘Sparta’

Heesen Yachts in the Netherlands has launched the 220-foot Sparta . It is the yard’s largest-ever steel motoryacht , having grown out of the Project Avanti concept that Heesen presented with Winch Design at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2018.
Sparta is in final commissioning, before heading to the North Sea for sea trials ahead of delivery to the owners.
According to Heesen, “The design has remained true to the original concept, with only minor adjustments made to the swimming pool. Winch Design expertly incorporated Heesen’s DNA to create a unique, low-profile, sporty and elegant yacht that looks simply stunning on the water.”
Sparta’s exterior is snow white with metallic Venetian red and metallic anthracite gray accents. The yacht has a reverse bow and sweep of thermo-bonded tinted glass from bow to stern.
Onboard features include a full-beam salon connected to an open-air beach terrace with a 21-foot infinity pool. Winch Design penned the custom outdoor furniture, which was built by Siebensee and Leerdam. A custom limo tender that Heesen calls “a mini version of the mothership” stows with the water toys behind gullwing doors in a forward garage.
Interior volume is 1,200 gross tons. There are two owner’s suites on a private deck and four guest staterooms on the main deck. A movable partition separates the forward guest staterooms, which can become a full-beam VIP or a playroom for younger family members.
A glass elevator serves all three decks. The lower deck has a Japanese-inspired wellness area with an elliptical whirlpool, steam room, sauna, gym and beauty area.
Interior design themes on every deck: Each of Sparta’s three decks has a different theme. The lower deck is water (with dining chairs upholstered in palm leaf), the main deck is earth (with a coffee table made from oak trunk), and the upper deck is air and space (with constellation wall artwork).

Yacht builder Heesen has just launched its largest ever steel superyacht , a 67-metre vessel named ‘Project Sparta’, owing to its gladiatorial strength and its extensive spa and wellness offering on board.
Proudly glowing in ‘Venetian’ red and ‘snow white’, the 1200 GT vessel is now in its final commissioning stages in the Heesen harbour, before it heads for rigorous trials in the North Sea.
With enough space for a 65-square-metre wellness area, which features an elliptical pool, a steam room, sauna and gym, Project Sparta has taken the crown for the largest steel yacht in Heesen’s fleet from the 60-metre Lusine ship, which was on display at last year’s Monaco Yacht Show .

Alongside the 6.5-metre infinity pool there’s a private ‘owners’ deck’ – suitable for an UHNW yacht aficionado who needs the occasional break from their hosting duties at lively parties out at sea. And, with a capacity for 12 guests, two staff and 14 crew members, lively entertaining is the aim of the game.
There are ample spaces for relaxation and rest on board, with two owners’ suites on the private deck and four guest rooms.
Winch Design has drawn upon nature to dress and decorate the boat’s interiors, with the three separate decks reflecting the earth, water and air.
An earth-inspired ‘main saloon’ contains a set of dining chairs which have been upholstered in palm leaves, while a solid oak coffee table with a ‘forest green’ marble surface takes centre stage in the room.

‘State of the art’ in-house engineering at Heesen
The crew quarters and technical elements of Project Sparta have been designed at Heesen’s shipyard in Oss, while the vessel’s striking interior cabinets have also been designed ‘in-house’, several hundred kilometres away at Heesen’s factory in Winterswijk.
With 100 craftspeople, the shipbuilder is one of the few in the world with its own cabinet-making facilities. The firm says it deploys ‘state of the art machinery’ and searches for ‘the best veneers, precious leathers and premium fabrics.’

Sparta sports a classic Snow White livery with a contemporary touch: metallic Venetian red and metallic anthracite grey accents that give her a particularly dashing look. The yacht’s profile is characterised by a reverse bow, augmenting her apparent length and emphasising her slender form, which is complimented by a bold and assertive sweep of thermobonded tinted glass from bow to stern.
The lifestyle on board Sparta revolves around family and togetherness. The centre of the social whirl is on the main deck aft, where a full-beam main saloon connects perfectly with the low, open-air beach terrace for enjoying life in and next to the sea. A transformer passerelle platform provides easy access to the water, while the 6.5m infinity pool is also a breathtaking sight, offering a visual link between onboard life and the vastness of the ocean.
The yacht’s outdoor spaces feature custom-designed furniture by Winch Design and beautifully crafted by Siebensee and Leerdam. Sparta’s matching custom limo tender, a mini version of the mothership, is conveniently stored, along with the water toys , behind the gullwing doors of the forward garage.
Winch Design made the most of the yacht’s generous 1,200 GT interior volume. The general arrangement boasts two separate owner’s suites on a private deck and four guest suites on the main deck. A movable partition separates the forward suites to create a full-beam VIP or a large playroom for younger family members. An elegant staircase and glass elevator serve all three decks.
The lower deck is home to a 65 sqm wellness area, Japanese-inspired, featuring an elliptical whirlpool, steam room, sauna, gym, and beauty area. Carefully considered movement flows throughout the accommodation areas will allow the crew to work efficiently and unobtrusively.
The Winch Design interior is based around three different elements, with each deck representing a different component: the lower deck is themed around water, the main deck around earth, and the upper deck around air. Linking all the elements are the staggered panels of an oak staircase by London furniture maker Alex Hull, with vertical lighting to bring its intricate carving to life.
The earth-themed main saloon features dining chairs with seat backs upholstered in real palm leaf. In the relaxed seating area, a large coffee table takes centre stage, made from two parts of a dark-stained trunk of oak, and featuring a leaf-shaped, forest green marble top with a leather finish, to provide a tactile and 3D effect.
The décor of the master suite on the upper deck aft beautifully captures the lightness of air, using soft fabrics, sky blues, mother-of-pearl inlays and an abstract patterned Tai Ping carpet. In contrast, the forward section is centred around the theme of space, with a constellation wall artwork as the focal point.
Sparta’s stunning interior features exquisite cabinetwork created by Heesen Yachts Interiors, with technical areas and crew quarters crafted at the shipyard. Heesen is one of the few shipyards in the world to own its fine cabinet-making company in Winterswijk in the eastern Netherlands, some hundred kilometres from Oss. The factory employs one hundred craftspeople. Our talented cabinetmakers work with the best veneers, precious leathers and premium fabrics, using the latest technology and state-of-the-art machinery.
Sparta will now undergo the final commissioning phases in our harbour before heading to the North Sea for intensive sea trials.

67-meter Heesen yacht SPARTA hits the water

Previously known as YN 20067, the 67m (217ft) superyacht SPARTA hit the water last week from Heesen ’s facilities in the Netherlands, marking the Dutch yard’s largest steel motor yacht to date.
Showcasing “athletic” lines with a unique low profile and reverse stern, courtesy of London-based studio Winch Design, the 1,200 GT motor yacht is based on Heesen's Project Avanti concept first showcased at the Monaco Yacht Show 2018, which captured the owners' imagination.
Her hull is particularly striking, sporting an ice-white livery with metallic Venetian red and anthracite gray boot stripes, as well as a bold sweep of tinted glass from bow to stern. On board, she’s equally impressive, offering a 6.5-meter infinity pool, open-air beach terrace and a 65 sqm Japanese-inspired wellness area, featuring an elliptical whirlpool, steam room, sauna, gym and beauty area.
Harnessing the finest materials and finishes, her decks have been individually themed around different elements; water, earth and air, with a stunning oak staircase in a series of staggered panels connecting each level.
She also comes equipped with a matching Tenderworks custom limo tender in the exact image of her mothership.
She represents Heesen’s largest superyacht build so far, taking over 65-meter charter yacht ILLUSION . SPARTA will now undergo the final commissioning phases in the harbor, before heading to the North Sea for intensive sea trials.

Konstantin Kolpakov of Arcon Yachts said: “The combination of Heesen’s excellent Dutch quality with the beauty of the lines from Winch Design, and our own expertise, will deliver a magnificent result.” With both her exterior and interior by Winch, Project Sparta is a wonderful example of how experienced clients in partnership with leading designers can work alongside Heesen’s 1,000-strong team of dedicated specialists to create a truly world-class custom yacht. Sparta’s quietly assertive yet sporty profile incorporates a raised pilot-house, with an elegantly understated reverse sheer connecting a powerful bow and a stepped aft deck area with a 6.5-metre infinity pool. Indoor and outdoor spaces connect harmoniously and create a perfect haven for family life and relaxation. “The turning of the hull marks a special moment in the construction of this exceptional project, and brings with it a great sense of pride and accomplishment to all involved,” said Jim Dixon, director of Yachts & Aviation at Winch. “It is always a pleasure to watch our designs turn into reality, and we look forward to following the next stage of her development in Heesen’s capable hands.” With a huge internal volume of approximately 1,200 GT, Project Sparta is the world’s largest steel Fast Displacement Hull Form motoryacht currently in build. Given her plumb bow design, hull designers Van Oossanen and Heesen’s own naval architects researched numerous spray rail options to keep the deck dry in all conditions, with computational fluid dynamics simulations complemented by tank testing at the Wolfson Unit in Southampton. Powered by two MTU 12V4000 M65R diesel engines, Sparta will reach a top speed of 16 knots, with a transoceanic cruising range of 4,500 nautical miles at 12 knots. Sparta’s hull was assembled at Talsma in Franeker, the Netherlands, a specialist yard, which has undertaken steel fabrication for Heesen since 2008 as the risk of chemical cross-contamination makes it technically inadvisable to weld both steel and aluminium on the same site. Like Heesen, Talsma operates at the highest levels of efficiency and professionalism, and as a loyal partner to the shipyard has been crucial to Heesen’s continuing success in long-range, steel-hulled yachts. “We are excited to see that we are meeting another deadline, despite these challenging times,” added Richard Kaye of Arcon Yachts. “Our technical team is enjoying working with Heesen and their dedicated workforce.  New 67m Heesen superyacht Sparta for saleThe brand-new 67-metre Heesen motor yacht Sparta has been listed for sale with Konstantin Kolpakov of Arcon Yachts following her launch last month. Sparta is the biggest steel yacht to date by the Dutch shipyard with an exterior and interior by Winch Design . Her sporty and low-profile design is based on the 66-metre Project Avanti concept, which was first presented at the Monaco Yacht Show 2018. Few changes had been made since the initial sketches except for modifications to the aft deck pool, which now stretches to 6.5 metres. Other notable features include a reverse bow – a first for Heesen – thermobonded tinted glass and accents of Venetian red and anthracite grey. The interior, which remains under wraps, sees each deck follow different themes of water, earth and air with an oak staircase and elevator connecting each level. The earth-themed main saloon features dining chairs with seat backs upholstered in real palm leaf and a large coffee table made from a trunk of oak. Sparta strays from the conventional layout and places two owner's suites on the bridge deck. The aft suite uses sky blues and mother-of-pearl inlays to represent air. The remaining guest cabins are found on the main deck with a movable partition that separates the forward suites to create a full-beam VIP or a large playroom for younger family members. Sparta's lower deck contains a 65-square-metre Japanese-inspired wellness area, complemented by a whirlpool, steam room, sauna and beauty area. She also boasts a matching custom limo tender stowed behind the gullwing doors of the forward garage. The 1200GT yacht for sale is powered by twin MTU diesels giving her a top speed of 16 knots. Sparta is the fifth project between the shipyard and Arcon Yachts. Lying in Oss, the Netherlands, Sparta is asking €99,000,000.
