Journey and Performance Highlights

The Bering 92 Papillon began her journey at the end of 2022 by starring in the first season of the Bering Life project, navigating the Mediterranean (Greece, Türkiye) with ease, even during severe storms. This adventure highlighted her robust design and seaworthiness.

Following her Mediterranean adventure, Papillon was transported to the Bahamas, where she successfully completed several charter trips, delighting guests with her luxurious amenities and performance. Her presence at multiple U.S. boat shows, including FLIBS, Miami, and Palm Beach, garnered significant attention from journalists and potential buyers.

One of the most notable expeditions was a whale-watching project at Silver Bank in the Dominican Republic, showcasing Papillon’s versatility in diverse marine environments. Partnering with Yachts for Science, an organization that connects yachts with researchers and marine scientists, Papillon participated in a scientific expedition to study endangered humpback whales. Hosting 13 scientists, filmmakers, and Bering employees, Papillon provided Bering-style hospitality throughout this government-sanctioned expedition. Despite challenging weather conditions, all objectives were successfully achieved thanks to the stability and robustness of the B92.

Papillon’s capabilities were further demonstrated during her venture to Jamaica, where she anchored for extended periods in regions lacking well-equipped marinas for large yachts. Her technical excellence, consistent with all Bering yachts, was evident.

Most recently, Papillon completed a transatlantic crossing under her power, passing through Bermuda, the Azores, and Gibraltar. This journey, taking just over three weeks, was completed without any technical issues.

The Bering 92 Papillon is currently docked in Alicante, Spain, and is ready for her next owner. 36m Moonen Martinique yacht Moonshine delivered to owner

The sixth unit in Moonen Yachts ' 36.3-metre Martinique series, Moonshine , has now been delivered to her owner. The superyacht will spend her first year cruising the Mediterranean and Caribbean before reaching her new home in San Diego, California.

René van der Velden is responsible for the series' fast displacement, steel-hulled exterior. With this unit, the owners requested a number of customisations, including changing Moonshine 's length from 37.4 metres to 36.3 metres to ensure they could moor the yacht at a specific location.

While imagery is undisclosed, Moonshine 's "rich and characterful" interiors are by first-time collaborator Hollander Yacht Design . The owners were also closely involved in the interior design process and used virtual reality and 3D renderings to make design decisions, including choosing custom furniture and "special materials" from a wide variety of suppliers.

"The end result is a yacht that keeps you entertained and surprised every time you turn a corner,” said studio co-founder Alexandra Nicolaescu. "Drawing inspiration from both the light and dark side of the moon, Moonshine ’s main deck is dominated by soft, silver, and beige hues, transitioning seamlessly to a darker, more enigmatic atmosphere on the bridge deck."

"It was a real honour and a pleasure to develop and build Moonshine together with the owners, crew and construction team," said project manager John Bechtold. "From day one, they have challenged us to refine the yacht to their tastes and intended use. And that has certainly been successful."

Moonshine has a maximum speed of 17 knots and a range of 4,000 nautical miles when cruising at 10 knots. Accommodation is for up to 12 guests and seven crew.

This news follows the launch of the fifth unit, Lumière , in early March 2024. The seventh unit is also currently under construction according to BOATPro .
