Billionaire owner Sheikh Mansour looks to have celebrated Manchester City’s fourth Premier League title in five seasons in style by buying the fourth largest yacht in world.
With an estimated net worth of £17billion, the deputy prime minster of the United Arab Emirates wouldn’t have been too bothered in splashing out £500million on Lurssen Yachts’ 160m creation fittingly dubbed BLUE.
As well as a swimming platform, nightclub and two helipads, the ship can play host to 48 guests across 40 cabins while employing 80 members of staff to keep things running smoothly.
Lurssen are one of the leading builders of luxury superyachts and have a length history having been founded way back in 1875.
The 15,320-tonne vessel, which can travel at speeds of 19 knots or 21.8mph, has an engine that is part diesel and part electric while producing drinking water with it’s own waste water treatment plant.
Other features include a beauty salon, sauna, gym, deck jacuzzi as well as wifi and air conditioning and a lift for easily movement across floors.
Managing partner Peter Lurssen has said of the project: “To execute such a comprehensive project, an excellent team is necessary.
“In this case, the team consisted of the owner’s technical project management team, the design team from Terence Disdale who are responsible for the contemporary exterior and the traditional fresh interior design and of course, Lurssen’s own project team.”
With a full tank of petrol will cost Mansour in the region of £500,000, the purchase cost as reported by SuperYachtFan was more than double the £210m that was paid for City back in 2008 through the Abu Dhabi United Group.
The 51-year-old already owns the more modest 483ft A+ yacht which was built by the same manufacturers back in 2012 with Lurssen building three of the top seven biggest ever.
Lurssen adds: “We are very proud of Blue as yet another statement of Lurssen’s ability and desire to build yachts that meet all of our exacting owners’ requirements.
“Guided by our core focus of expert engineering, beautiful design and being a proud market leader in developing sustainable technologies.”

MAN City owner Sheikh Mansour has splashed out £500million on a megayacht so big that it would only just fit in the club’s 55,000-capacity stadium.
He will take delivery of the 525ft vessel before the start of the season — and has named it Blue in tribute to his Premier League champions .
The yacht, the fourth largest in the world, has 40 cabins for 48 guests and four entertaining decks including a large alfresco area connected with a swimming platform and club.
Stateroom balconies were designed by London stylist Terence Disdale.
There are also two helipads to ferry passengers to and from shore.
With a crew of 80, the 15,320-tonne vessel can do 19 knots, or 21.8mph.

And in a bid to be eco-friendly, the engine is part diesel, part electric, while a waste water treatment plant produces drinking water.
But the sheikh could face a headache filling up, with a full tank of fuel costing an estimated £500,000.
A source said: “Blue is the top of the league when it comes to yachts.
“One or two might be bigger, but nothing is better on the high seas.

“It is state of the art and has been built to the exacting standards of Sheikh Mansour.
"Everything he has asked for has been provided, and he has the wealth to ensure it happened exactly how he has planned it.
“Hopefully he can use a discount card whenever it needs filling up too.”
Sheikh Mansour, 51, already owns the 483ft A+ which houses 62 guests in 26 cabins and has its own dancefloor, beach club, gym, wellness centre, spa, jacuzzi room and salon.
The football fanatic has amassed a £17billion fortune courtesy of his International Petroleum Investment Company.
He is deputy PM of his native United Arab Emirates and a member of Abu Dhabi’s ruling family.
He bought City for £210million in 2008 through his Abu Dhabi United Group , with the club going on to win six Premier League titles.
Sheikh Mansour also owns a five per cent stake in Ferrari and 9.1 per cent in Daimler AG, which owns Mercedes.
Earlier this year, The Sun told how David Beckham had bought a 93ft boat from Italian maker Ferretti.
The world’s largest yacht , the 590ft Azzam, belonged to late UAE president Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan .

Although there is truth in the warning since most crimes are money-motivated, we all would want to have enough pair shoes and matching clothes or maybe take a vacation to whichever part of the world we have always wanted to go. For some, they have traveled the world and do not just own cars and multiple homes; they own football clubs. We are talking about the likes of Roman Abramovich who owns Chelsea Football Club and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al Nahyan, the owner of Manchester City Football Club. As if that is not enough, they go ahead to acquire the most expensive yachts in the world. Most of us would retire if we had such wealth, but usually, when you get to the top, the view is too good to leave, and the only way to ensure staying there is making more money. Features of Topaz
Topaz boasts of a length of 482 feet with a beam that is 70.5 feet long. When the project of building Topaz started, it was in a 554 feet dry dock, but given the length of the boat, the builders had to take it to a larger dock to complete its sides. Getting lost at sea is impossible since the navigation equipment is topnotch and is powered not just by the diesel generators, but by another emergency diesel generator. You are also guaranteed of comfort even when the boat is anchored in rough waters because of the generators power stabilizers as well as all other amenities on the boat.
Accommodation on the boat is large enough for 62 guests housed in 26 cabins while the crew members can be as many as 79. Keeping fit while on board is enabled by the swimming pools and the fully-equipped gym that comes with the latest in sports technology. The superyacht is among the largest vessels in the world to be equipped with a diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system, featuring PTI/PTO units that can be utilized for electric propulsion at lower speeds or for generating electricity to power the vessel at higher speeds.
This innovative technology not only showcases the advancements in marine engineering but also significantly reduces Blue’s environmental impact.
Blue’s commitment to sustainability goes beyond its state-of-the-art propulsion system. The vessel is equipped with an innovative after-treatment system and an advanced wastewater treatment plan utilizing new membrane technology. This system allows the treated wastewater to be safely discharged in “drinking water quality,” according to the shipyard.

Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan took advantage of the summer break in European football to treat himself to a small gift.
It is an impressive yacht, valued at 600 million dollars, and considered as one of the most expensive in the world.
At 160 meters long, his yacht is 55 metres longer than Manchester City 's stadium, the Etihad.
Its interior has 40 cabins, which can accommodate up to 48 people.
It also has a swimming pool, gyms, massage room, restaurants and two helipads and a sun deck for each cabin, regardless of its location on the ship.
It takes more than half a million dollars to run this luxury vessel, just to fill up the fuel tank.

According to The Sun, in the future there will only be only two mega yachts in the world that are bigger than his.

Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour owns the world's most expensive superyacht - and Pep Guardiola's treble-winners are desperate to party on it.
The yacht, which set the Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates back £500 million in July, is a 525ft vessel which costs an insane £500,000 to fill it with fuel.
It is the fourth-largest yacht in the world, with 40 cabins and staterooms for 48 guests, a swimming platform, nightclub and two helipads.
What's more, there's a sauna, gym, deck jacuzzi and amenities like wifi and air conditioning - as well as a lift to move around the different floors.
The mega boat, which would only just fit inside the Etihad Stadium, has been named 'Blue' by Mansour as a nod to the club he owns.
A crew of 80 is required to fully operate proceedings on the yacht, which was more than twice as expensive as the initial sum paid to buy City back in 2008.
And City stars like Jack Grealish, Kevin de Bruyne and Erling Haaland are desperate to experience the yacht - though they might not quite be able to replicate their treble celebrations .
Still, it could well happen later this year as the Blues will be nearby in Saudi Arabia for the Club World Cup.
City will be representing Europe in their first ever appearance in the tournament after finally winning the Champions League courtesy of a win over Inter Milan in the final in Istanbul.
"His boat was the talk of the dressing room when he took delivery of it and they hope to get an invite when the team visits Saudi Arabia in December for the Club World Cup," a source told the Daily Star .
"Abu Dhabi isn’t too far away and is expected to be moored up when the owner or his family come to watch.”
Mansour has only ever attended two City fixtures in the flesh - the first being a 3-0 win over Liverpool at the Etihad in 2010 and the second coming in Istanbul as his team were crowned champions of Europe.
