Jongert Yachts
Jongert is located on a site of 44,000 square metres in the district of Wieringermeer, The Netherlands. The facility includes three state-of-the-art 60-metre construction sheds that can be extended to 100 metres. The three halls are equipped with two 10-ton cranes. Jongert specialises in semi-custom and custom luxury sailing and motoryachts, mainly built in steel or aluminium. The global Jongert fleet is over 325 launches.
History of Jongert Yachts
Founded in 1953, Jongert began by building small motorboats, and in 1960 launched its first luxury motoryacht. This was followed with two classes of sailing yachts – the Zwalkers and the Trewes –through a partnership with marine engineering firm Van der Meer and yacht architect Willem de Vries Lentsch.
Notable Jongert Superyachts
Jongert offers Performance, Cruising and Special lines of luxury yachts. The Performance Line comprises 39-, 42- and 50-metre versions. For example, the 500LE was developed in cooperation with Azure Naval Architects and Guido de Groot, and has a gross tonnage of slightly less than 500 GT. The Cruising Line in 40- and 46-metre versions offers comfort and on-board luxury. Interior volume and distinctive layouts enhance the experience, while these stalwart vessels are built to circle the globe with a solid steel hull and aluminium superstructure. Specials include the 1800 Tommy and 3000 Explorer.

History of Jongert
Jongert, one of the world's leading yacht builders, has a rich history rooted in innovation and excellence. The Jongert family initially began building small motorboats, but quickly recognized the growing demand for technologically advanced vessels. In 1960, the yard launched its first luxury motor yacht, which was followed by two classes of sailing yachts a year later. These yachts, created in collaboration with Van der Meer and Willem de Vries Lentsch, catapulted Jongert into the global spotlight as a pioneering yard.
In 1969, Jongert started working with Herbert Dahm, marking the beginning of numerous successes. It was during this time that the renowned slogan, "The impossible we can do today. miracles may take a little while longer," emerged. This commitment to pushing boundaries and offering unrivaled comfort, privacy, luxury, and cutting-edge technologies still holds true today.
Continuing its tradition of innovation, Jongert has collaborated with esteemed architects and designers like Doug Peterson, Tony Castro, and André Hoek. As a result, the Jongert brand has become synonymous with superyachts of the highest quality.

The brief for the 26.7-meter Jongert sailing yacht ICARUS was to build a pocket-size super sailing yacht that also would perform.
She has a deeper keel and taller rig to ad to the performance, hence she has won one Jongert Rally. Icarus is equipped with an inner forestay to avoid pitching in heavy weather. The boat is stable, easy to sail and owners and guests will greatly enjoy their time on board. She features lowering tables, so spaces double as lounge areas and her on-deck Jacuzzi adds to comfort. Nothing, however, beats her electric sliding deck-salon roof. Her exterior is modern with a bold metallic dark grey hull. She features teak decking, a large deck salon with the electric roof and electric windows offer shade and protection. During the winter 2013, she underwent a complete rig refit and fore and aft PBO back and running back stays. The windlass and hydraulic motors, as well as both thrusters, were stripped and refitted to work like new again. She is a very attractive yacht that can be sailed with a crew of two to three people, depending on level of service.
Accommodation
Icarus features a full beam owner’s cabin aft with an extra wide centerline double bed, a vanity, hull windows and an en-suite bathroom with rain shower and double sinks. Two twin bedded guest cabins are located forward of the owners cabin. Both cabins offer en-suite facilities.

The yard continues to innovate through its own design team and in partnership with leading architects and designers such as Doug Peterson, Tony Castro and André Hoek.
The shipyard was established by Jan Jongert, Sr., in Medemblik in 1953 and produced sailing yachts between 20 m (66 ft) and 50 m (160 ft) in length. Between 1970 and 1994 the yard exported cumulatively in excess of half a billion guilders worth of yachts. [1] Most of the later vessels were designed by Tony Castro and built from steel or aluminium.
