Parsifal III: Meet the star of Below Deck's sailing yacht spin-off

As the 54 metre superyacht Parsifal III returns to screens for season three of Below Deck Sailing Yacht , her owner Kim Vibe-Petersen talks through the realities of filming a reality TV series on board his boat.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is a spin-off series of the hit superyacht reality TV show Below Deck that follows the lives of the crew and guests across an eight-week charter season. This week, producers confirmed the show will return for a third season of crew drama and on-the-water antics with Perini Navi sailing yacht Parsifal III in the starring role and Captain Glenn Shephard at the helm.

For Danish owner Kim Vibe-Petersen, Parsifal III' s return is yet another opportunity to show off the yacht's charter credentials. Vibe-Petersen was personally approached by Below Deck producers in 2018 after they struggled to find a suitable sailing yacht. Parsifal III fitted the bill as she was already equipped for charter and a number of her existing crew were willing to take part in the show.

The Perini Navi sailing yacht first hit the water in 2005 and rose to instant fame scoring a number of prestigious accolades including a coveted Neptune at the World Superyacht Awards. On her launch she also joined the ranks as one of the fast Perini Navi superyachts on the water with a top speed of 18 knots under full sail granted by two high-tech carbon masts, automated in-boom furling and a winged keel.

Vibe-Petersen admitted there were some yacht owners who didn’t want the names of their yachts connected with the drama-filled reality show, but he “didn’t have that concern.” Although he had the option to change the yacht’s name for filming, he decided to keep it to maximise the charter appeal of  Parsifal III .

“It’s free advertising,” he said. “The name of the yacht will come to people’s minds, especially to someone who has never chartered a yacht before. They will see that name and know the boat from the show.”

Vibe-Petersen was also keen to secure a guaranteed packed charter schedule during low season. “I think there were a lot of boats that did not want to be chartered for the show but it's good money in the bank,” he said.

While admitting he might not be the “specific audience targeted by the series,” he said he has sat down to watch the first series, which took place in Corfu. Even in Vibe-Peterson’s home country of Denmark, the US show has gained a big following.

“This is the kind of show where they want to make a little drama,” he added. “It’s not that wild on board a normal charter.” The conveyor belt of colourful guests are chosen by the production team and given a “big discount” for appearing on the show.

Vibe-Petersen also explained the complicated logistics of filming Below Deck , each season of which features 16 charters filmed across a period of eight weeks. This means that two groups of guests separately charter the yacht in a single week. Meanwhile, the production team require a time period of at least a week to get  Parsifal III  rigged up and fit for filming. “There are 30 people on board each day with lots of wires and cameras – it’s a big, big operation."

Season one was filmed in Corfu, Greece, which posed a number of challenges for  Parsifal III as the sailing yacht was required to have a specific charter licence. “It’s pretty tough to get that,” said Vibe-Petersen. “It’s not something we can do within a short amount of time. It can take 10 to 12 weeks to get a charter licence so it takes time.”

For her second season, Parsifal III was filmed cruising Croatia's 3,600 miles of coastline. This season, the show will follow Parsifal III as she cruises around the Spanish island of Menorca, carrying a mix of new and old crew. Returning faces include chief stew Daisy Kelliher, chief engineer Colin MacRae, and first mate Gary King while new chef Marcos Spaziani will grace the screen for the first time together with second stew Gabriela Barragan, third stew Ashley Marti and deckhands Kelsie Goglia and Tom Pearson.

Although the Northern Sun is built by the Japanese Narasaki shipyard, it surely is a boat that fits Australian waters quite well and could delight anyone looking to explore the most rugged locations in style, whether they are polar or tropical.

Northern Sun is available for charter from $161,700 / week . Her latest asking price was $15,000,000 .

Below Deck: Sailing Yacht Complete Guide: Updates, Cast, Seasons

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

When Below Deck sailed onto Bravo in 2013, it was a hit with fans. It quickly spawned several spin offs. Below Deck Mediterranean debuted in 2013. In February 2020, Below Deck Sailing Yacht premiered.

It followed the lives of “yachties” working on a 177-foot sailing yacht called Parsifal III. This luxurious vessel cruised the Ionian Sea. If you are a newbie, or just brushing up on this franchise, this Below Deck Sailing Yacht guide has everything you need.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Cast Members

Captain Glenn Shephard has been at the helm since the series debuted . He is relaxed until pushed to the limit. During Season 2, Captain Glenn assembled a core team that returned for multiple seasons.

During Season 2, Gary King served as chief officer, and Colin MacRae was the chief engineer. Chief stew Daisy Kelliher also joined the crew. Chef Natasha De Bourg , who had a Michelin-star rating, left after the second season. The guests may have loved her food, but Daisy was critical of her skills.

Chef Ileisha Dell took over the galley during Season 4. She prepared an elaborate, and time-consuming, 10-course meal. Chef’s kiss!

Memorable Moments

There have been plenty of fireworks on this franchise. And we have it all in this handy Below Deck Sailing Yacht guide. During Season 1, Chef Adam Glick and chief stew Jenna MacGillivray hit it off. Their PDA-filled “boatmance” turned off their fellow crew members.

There was baby drama after Season 2 when second stew Dani Soares announced that she was pregnant with Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux’s child. Jean-Luc requested a DNA test , which confirmed he was the father of Dani’s daughter.

And Gary participated in too many romances. During Season 2, he romanced both deckhand Sydney Zaruba and stew Alli Dore .

Then Daisy and Gary had sex between Seasons 3 and 4. During Season 4, Daisy also hooked up with Gary’s buddy, Colin. Yet Gary continued to flirt with Daisy. Season 4 became awkward in a hurry!

Gary was also involved in another romantic entanglement with stew Mads Herrera . But she locked lips with deckhand Alex Propson , too. Season 4 absolutely delivered!

Add in some nautical accidents, too. Captain Glenn hit the dock twice during Season 2. And during Season 3, a hazardous overnight squall put everyone in danger.

All in all, there was plenty of excitement aboard Parsifal III.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Welcome to Below Deck Sailing Yacht, where the winds are stronger, the stakes are higher, and the job is tougher than ever. This season, the crew boards Parsifal III, a 180-foot long luxury sailing yacht. The existing crew includes Captain Glenn Shephard and yachtie couple Paget Berry and Ciara Duggan, who are joined for the charter season by Chef Adam Glick ("Below Deck Mediterranean"), Jenna MacGillivray, Byron Hissey, Madison Stalker, Georgia Grobler and Parker McCown. For the first time ever, Paget and Ciara find themselves working in the same department. And with the boat in total disarray, tensions between the old and new crew begin to simmer as they hustle to get ready for their first charter of the season.

The first charter of the season is underway, and Chief Stew Jenna is already feeling the pressure as she is tasked with planning an impromptu wedding for two drunk guests. First Mate Paget is trying to keep his cool and patience with his new deck team, including Ciara, his girlfriend of four years. Parker, an inexperienced deckhand, struggles to adjust to the posh world of yachting. Meanwhile, Captain Glenn attempts a risky maneuver while climbing the mast to fix a broken sail. During the first night out, two yachties have a steamy interaction that quickly makes their professional relationship personal.

After a wild, wine-fueled, night out, Jenna wades through a sea of regrets and braces for the awkward interactions that follow. A group of high-maintenance, vegan guests board Parsifal, and Adam struggles to live up to their meatless and milkless expectations. Georgia gets attitude from Chef Adam and seeks solace in her budding friendship with Madison and burgeoning flirtation with Paget. And Paget worries about how to be both Ciara's boss and her boyfriend as tensions between them escalate making them question if the charter season will get the best of them.

Stews brace and dishes break as the last breakfast of charter is served on full tilt. To make matter worse, the deck team gets into choppy waters during a rough docking. Parker feels the strain of being on charter and his immaturity begins to show. On their night out, Paget continues to bond with the crew, particularly Georgia. Jenna comes down on Georgia's laundry system and sends her away in tears. Then, Parsifal welcomes its youngest guest to date -- a newborn. And baby talk permeates the yacht as Adam and Jenna's relationship blossoms.

Parsifal sails into strong winds with a baby on board as Glenn stumbles into awkward conversation with a flirtatious primary. Adam and Jenna's relationship heats up which stokes the fires between the Jenna and her interior team. Madison gets frustrated when Jenna sends her to do a beach picnic setup with little notice, and Georgia piles laundry on Madison's workload. Ciara and Parker get in a spat about deck duties, and Paget tries to mediate while the guests wait nearby. But everything comes to a head when Ciara discovers that the boat is crashing into the dock!

Paget's patience runs out when he's left to pick up the slack after Parsifal crashes into the dock. A new charter of men from Long Island set sail in all of their champagne-sabering, chest-bumping glory, and the crew scrambles to meet their loud and incessant demands. Adam goes into beast mode while trying to cook for the bros, but he gets comfortable with Jenna, who wants more from their relationship. The guests cruise beach bars for chicks but end up taking a dive in the drink. Madison must decide how to handle a charter guest that crosses the line. And Parker and Madison facilitate an out-of-control yacht party.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4: next episode, cast, trailer and what we know about the Bravo series

Captain Glenn and the crew of the Parsifal III set sail again.

Captain Glenn Shepherd on the Parsifal III on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4

Captain Glenn and the crew of the Parsifal III are back for another season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht . This time the yacht is setting sail in lovely Sardinia, Italy, and even though it's a beautiful location, don't expect calm seas. This season, anything can happen.

As the original Below Deck franchise wraps up its tenth season, Below Deck Sailing Yacht cruises into season 4 with the promise of picturesque landscapes and thrilling adventures, but the trailer hints at some trouble on board, and not just with the crew. Although, it looks like the Parsifal III has some challenges this season that puts Captain Glenn and the crew through their paces.

Here's everything we know about Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4.

Next episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4

Part two of the Below Deck Sailing Yacht season four reunion   airs Tuesday, July 18, at 8 pm ET/PT on Bravo. Catch the uncensored and extended Below Deck Sailing Yacht reunion part two next day on Peacock.

We don't have a premiere date for the UK, but expect to see new episodes on Hayu once they're available.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode guide

Keep track of all the Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episodes here:

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 1: "ParsiFAIL" "Back on board Parsifal III in Sardinia, Italy, Capt. Glenn is poised for his smoothest sail yet -- until he isn't; Daisy comes back ready to prove she knows what she's doing as a chief stew; chief engineer Colin is determined to avoid a boat romance."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 2: "Worst Vacation Ever" "Capt. Glenn is hopeful Colin's plan to fix the engine works; chef Ileisha has problems at dinner; the guests blame Daisy for the lack of service."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 3: "The King is Back" "Capt. Glenn finally wakes up to some good news; the entire crew is invited to join the guests for dinner, and chef Ileisha must change her menu in the last minute."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 4: "Lazy Daisy" "Capt. Glenn remains committed to improving the guest experience by insisting a stew go on all excursions. Daisy is frustrated after learning she’s a stew down while the deck team goofed off on the eFoils. Chef Ileisha’s perfectionism is thrown off when she faces her greatest fear in the galley and enlists Colin’s help. Gary claims his territory as First Mate both with the ladies and on deck as he sets his eyes on Mads knowing his deckhands are interested in the same girl."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 5: "Hate Me Tender" "Daisy is overwhelmed with the high-maintenance guests and struggles to ask for help, so a request from Gary sends her over the edge; when a guest injury occurs on the water toys, Capt. Glenn goes into high alert."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 6: "Clash & Burn" "In an effort to turn the charter around, Capt. Glenn takes the guests on an epic sail. Lucy makes a grave mistake to a charter guest’s garment. After Chef Ileisha continues to leave the guests waiting too long between courses, Capt. Glenn gives her honest feedback in the tip meeting that pushes Daisy's defensive buttons. Colin defends Capt. Glenn’s comments as feedback and not critique, which only heightens Daisy’s frustrations."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 7: "Smoke on the Water" "Another engine issue emerges, forcing Capt. Glenn to modify the plan and keep the returning guests entertained. With all the uncertainty going on in the engine room, Capt. Glenn takes control and points out the crews’ mistakes. Daisy and Colin make up after their fight as their relationship grows stronger. Daisy confronts Gary about Mads and claims he’s playing his usual games. Tired of the drama, Chase plans a night of drunk Twister and hosts a surprising yoga session. "

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 8: "Cheers to Boobies" "After Chase confides in Gary about Alex’s lackluster work ethic, Chase’s trust is broken when Gary tells Alex about their conversation. The crew pull off talent show #2 for the returning guests and surprise themselves with their interesting skills. Chase has a little too much to drink, and he upsets some of the crew, pushing Lucy to lose it and her chair at dinner. Daisy and Colin get closer than ever as they share an unexpected kiss."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 9: "Love Boat" "Glenn dresses up for the guests' theme night; he hopes his participation helps correct a jewelry theft hiccup and is on top of his crew to make sure the women have the best trip of their lives."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 10: "Loose Lips Sink Friendships" "The crew has the day off, and even Capt. Glenn recharges by enjoying Parsifal III all to himself and riding the eFoil; Colin saves the day clearing the clogged toilets, but he gets jammed up when his honest opinion strikes a chord."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 11: "Let Them Eat Cake" "Capt. Glenn notices the standards are slipping on Parsifal lll as the crew is exhausted with the mid-season blues. Distraught that Colin and Gary aren’t speaking, Daisy takes initiative and forces them to hash out their problems. Gary’s confusing behavior has Mads confessing her feelings to Alex. Colin tries to forgive Daisy’s discretions, but she adds insult to injury after she drunkenly confuses him for Gary. On charter, after anchoring in their first destination, Parsifal lll nearly drags into a neighboring boat."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 12: "T-Bone with Stakes" "Capt. Glenn notices the crew is slipping on service when a guest is injured, and interior doesn’t hear the walkie call forcing Capt. Glenn to up the guest maintenance standards onboard. After Alex and Mads confess their feelings from the start, Mads is torn between Alex and Gary. Shaken after a close T-Bone with a nearby boat, Gary is confused when his advances to Mads aren’t being reciprocated."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 13: "Hurricane Bonnie" "Captain Glenn reprimands the crew as recent slip-ups are directly affecting communication and morale; Daisy breaks down when she's proven wrong about the walkies not working; Chef Ileisha is determined to prove she can complete a 10-course dinner."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 14: "Boat Load of Throuples" "Capt. Glenn threatens to kick one of the 'throuple' charter guests off Parsifal during a drunken guest fight. Mads receives a wake-up call that prompts her to dismiss Gary’s apology attempt and more seriously consider Alex leaving Gary with a stomach full of regret. Unhappy with Gary, Alex and Colin decide to follow their hearts instead."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 15: "Man Buns Has it Been Fun": "Proud of his team’s accomplishments during the final sail, Capt. Glenn believes his tough love made them all stronger. The crew celebrates their final night out and Daisy and Colin try to soak up every moment of it. Following tearless goodbyes, Capt. Glenn and Gary stay onboard Parsifal to pick up another charter season."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 cast

Captain Glenn Shepherd returns to helm the Parsifal III. This is his fourth season on the series, but he's no stranger to the ship. He's been helming the Parsifal III for over a decade.

Captain Glenn will be joined once again by Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher, first mate Gary King and engineer Colin MacRae.

New to the series are chef Ileisha Dell, stews Lucy Edmunds and Mads Herrera and deckhands Chase Lemacks and Alex Propson.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 plot

Bravo offered this synopsis of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 and it gives you a good sense of what's coming in the new season:

"Capt. Glenn and his comeback team Daisy Kelliher, Gary King and Colin MacRae resume their responsibilities aboard Parsifal III, along with new, dynamic crew members, as they set sail in Sardinia, Italy. Capt. Glenn realizes that his laid-back leadership style has allowed his crew to become too comfortable and starts taking charge of quality control in the interior department, much to Daisy's dismay.

"In the galley, Chef Ileisha’s cooking impresses the guests, but her indecisiveness and co-dependency lead to time-management issues between courses, which causes her to self-destruct. On deck, strong personalities collide, and a power struggle results in a near mutiny, as Gary clashes with his new overconfident deckhand, Chase.

"Two overlapping love triangles further complicate the dynamics on-board, and a shocking hookup puts Colin, Daisy and Gary’s friendship in jeopardy. With a near collision, fire, crew rebellion, gruesome guest injury and two different potentially season-ending engine failures, this is the most captivating and unpredictable season yet of Below Deck Sailing Yacht ."

Below Deck Trailer: See a Diva Real Housewife Rock the Boat

Originally appeared on E! Online

A Real Housewife is making waves on Below Deck .

E! News can exclusively debut the Bravo series' season 11 midseason trailer and, as the first look teases, the crew of the St. David might have met their toughest charter guest to date in The Real Housewives of New York City alum Jill Zarin .

"This is a buffet meal," Zarin tells the staff in the preview while complaining about the quality of her food. "It shouldn't be a three-hour meal. Make it better. Burger's cold!"

Jill's arrival comes as the yachties are feeling the strain from an already stressful season filled with multiple shocking departures , plenty of crew drama between Chief Stew Fraser Olender and Stew Barbie Pascual and, of course, some boatmances.

As Captain Kerry Titheradge notes, "We're half way through the season we're getting tired. This is the opportunity just to smash it. We've all had some ups and downs this season and it wouldn't be yachting if we didn't. We don't do this because it's easy. Easy s--t is on the shore."

Below Deck Season 11: Meet the Cast

As for the friction between Fraser and Barbie, their working dynamic doesn't seem to improve as the Stew notes, "Everybody here knows that there's s--t going on between me and Fraser."

Plus, Fraser bitterly adds, "I'd rather have no sleep than have to look at your face every morning."

But while there doesn't seem to be much hope for Barbie and Fraser, her flirtation with Deckhand Kyle Stillie is only heating up.

"I really like Kyle," she admits. "It's just like a fun, flirtatious...whatever."

And it seems not every crewmember will make it to the end of the charter season.

"I've done everything I can for you to succeed," Capt. Kerry warns one mystery yachtie. "The issue is you are not thriving. If you're not all encompassing, adding value to the rest of the crew, I can't have you here."

Check out the trailer above to see all the drama to come, plus meet sexy new Deckhand Dylan Pierre De Villiers .

Below Deck airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on Bravo. And keep reading to look back at the show's most shocking crew departures ever.

Starting a new season of “ Below Deck ” can be similar to returning to summer camp as a kid — you know it’s going to be fun and that you’ll be in the same environment, but some of the people will be different and you’re not quite sure what the vibes will be.

This time around, in particular, feels that way because for the first time in the show’s 11-season run, Captain Lee Rosbach is no longer at the helm. It’s a pivotal moment for a franchise that has become one of the most popular entities in the sprawling universe of reality TV since premiering on Bravo in 2013 . The show’s appeal was built on endless romances between various crew members (“boatmances,” as they came to be known), horrible charter guests and some sort of passive-aggressive fight about how many shackles of the anchor chain should be in the water. And there was always Rosbach presiding over the drama as he trudged around the boat, reeling off one liners like “I’m madder than a pissed-on chicken” and “we screwed the pooch so many times we should have a litter of puppies running around.”

At the center of the show now is Kerry Titheradge (the stern yet goofy captain of “Below Deck Adventure” fame), who is managing the Motor Yacht Saint David with the cheeky chief stew Fraser Olender by his side.

With that change in captain, the energy on the boat — both onscreen and off — is different, according to Olender.

“Lee has a no B.S. attitude, which I love with him,” Olender said in an interview. “With Kerry, he taught me a lot and sort of forced to me confront issues directly with my team, work them out, as opposed to making executive decisions too soon.”

This shift in management style changes the central conflict — whereas the drama once focused on the captain swiftly kicking out any unpleasant crew member (as we might have seen with Rosbach), the drama now focuses on the whole crew trying to get along (since Titheradge gives people those second chances).

Additionally, Olender noted that the captain’s relationship with the crew can also affect the drama on board.

“Captains absolutely do get involved, whether they know it or not,” Olender said, adding that for the crew, everything is about “trying to impress your captain.”

This phenomenon plays out early in the new season when the lead deckhand, Ben Willoughby, called out a fellow crew member over the radios about not wearing a life vest — something he easily could have done in private. The drama that followed became an interpersonal conflict between the two of them, both with the ultimate goal of impressing Titheradge. (Of course, the two deckhands had kissed on the previous crew night out, which is more in line with the “Below Deck” drama viewers are used to.)

For “Below Deck” showrunners, the changeovers in the cast allowed them to rethink what the show would look like.

From the season premiere, it was immediately apparent that Rosbach’s absence wasn’t the only change this season: The filming is sleeker, the daily, multicourse meals prepared by the chef are given their own glamour shots and the cameras sometimes cut to the perspectives of yachties running around on deck and through the galley.

“Our showrunner, Lauren Simms, is an avid consumer of all different kinds of media,” Noah Samton, a senior vice president of unscripted current production for NBCUniversal, said in an interview. “She pitches us different ideas on how to stylistically evoke different feelings and change the mood a little bit of ‘Below Deck’ without removing what really works.”

Moving through the rest of the season, and potentially through seasons to come, Olender is aiming to bring a cutthroat management style while also bringing affection for his stews, all with his signature British humor.

On Bravo’s side, there are changes in the works for the other “Below Deck” spinoffs — including “Sailing Yacht,” “Mediterranean” and “Down Under” — which collectively, have 26 seasons. Specifically, Samton said that “Down Under” is currently filming and that even though fans should be ready to see new things, the show will stay true to its original concept.

“These are real yachties doing a real job so you have to stay within those confines because the audience isn’t going to want anything that is too produced or fake,” Samton said. “So we have to find ways to reinvent while staying true to the original concept of the show.”

And as Olender said: “I’m sure that every year if I were to work with this franchise again, that I’ll be thrown a collection of total chaotic and disastrous stews — that’s what makes it watchable.”

An earlier version of this article misquoted Fraser Olender, the chief stew of “Below Deck.” He said, “I also feel like Kerry this season. ... Lee has a no B.S. attitude, which I love with him,” not “I feel like Kerry this season, as opposed to Lee, has a no B.S. attitude, which I love with him.”

Jill Zarin of The Real Housewives of New York City is coming to add some spice to the second half of Below Deck season 11 .

On Monday, Bravo dropped the midseason trailer for the popular reality show and teased the arrival of the RHONY original cast member, 60, who starred on the show from 2008 to 2011. In the clip, Zarin appears as a demanding charter guest who pushes the yacht's staff to their limits.

"This is a buffet meal," Zarin says in the new clip. "It shouldn't be a three-hour meal. Make it better."

She goes on to tell the staff that her "burger's cold," and the video then cuts to Anthony Iracane voicing his confusion and frustration over the situation with the Real Housewives of New York City legend.

"Can I have a translator in the galley, please?" he says. "Because I have no idea what the f**k is going on right now."

ET recently chatted with Fraser Olender and  Barbie "Barbie" Pascual  about the new season and the appearance of Zarin, who Olender referred to as the "most difficult" guest of the entire season.

Meanwhile, Barbie told ET she was overjoyed to see the RHONY alum come on board.

"I was like, 'Jill!' And she was like, 'Do we know each other?'" Barbie said. "I know everything about Jill, so I was so excited to have Jill on board and  she was really high maintenance, but so am I, and she's a Housewife, what do we expect?"

"She was fabulous. I loved her," she added.

The rest of the nearly three-minute trailer promises tears, hookups and a tense moment where Titheradge tells one member of the St. David's staff that they do not have a future working on the yacht.

"I've done everything I can for you to succeed. The issue is, you are not thriving," Titheradge tells a staff member who is not seen on camera. "If you're not all-encompassing, adding value to the rest of the crew, I can't have you here."

Also on board in the last nine episodes of season 11 is a new steward on the St. David who shakes things up for the crew members and the established relationships already underway prior to the new arrival showing up on the scene.

"She's an attractive girl," deckhand Kyle Stillie says.

"Bloody hell, I'm in trouble," adds deckhand Ben Willoughby.

Below Deck  airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.

Ben willoughby might be fired in below deck season 11, according to captain kerry.

Captain Kerry Titheradge may have promoted Ben Willoughby in Below Deck season 11, but he doesn’t seem too impressed with his performance as a bosun.

  • Ben is at risk of being fired due to his disappointing performance as Bosun in Below Deck season 11.
  • Captain Kerry admits that Ben wasn't his first choice for Bosun, but he acknowledges his knowledge of the boat.

Captain Kerry Titheradge hints he may fire Ben Willoughby in Below Deck season 11. The Gold Coast-based Deckhand quickly rose to popularity after his debut last season. He earned his promotion and became the Lead Deckhand within five episodes. Unfortunately, Ben’s performance in season 11 has been slightly underwhelming. Over the episodes, he has made various mistakes and distracted himself with other things like hooking up with junior Deckhand, Marie “Sunny” Marquis. Most recently, Ben earned an unexpected promotion. He became the Bosun after Captain Kerry fired Jared Woodin due to his attitude and inability to focus on work.

Ben has yet to showcase his abilities. However, Captain Kerry has already teased that things may not end well for the new Bosun. While talking to Entertainment Weekly , Captain Kerry shared that Ben “may not make the whole season.” He added that Ben has come quite close to things not being good for him. Besides teasing Ben’s exit from the show , Captain Kerry also shared the possible reasons.

He said, “I had a lot of faith in him to do that job,” implying that Ben didn’t live up to his expectations and made him question if he deserved the promotion.

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now

Captain kerry believed in ben willoughby’s expertise in handling the boat.

Captain Kerry disclosed the real reason he chose Ben as the Bosun . He revealed, “Ben wasn't my first choice to be in that position , but he does know the boat well.” The new Captain shared that the Lead Deckhand knew the boat more than him. Therefore, he had no choice but to give him a chance.

Captain Kerry said, “at the time, I needed the right skillset for the job, and that's what he had.”

While the Australian Captain didn’t say if he would fire Ben, he shared that his future discussions with him would be about whether he could handle the job.

Captain Kerry is right to doubt Ben’s skills. Over the years, many Below Deck crew members have become successful by concentrating on their jobs more than romance or drama. João Franco from Below Deck Down Under is a great example. When the Zimbabwe native debuted in the series, he had drinking problems. However, he didn’t let the issues dictate his future and completely altered his personality to earn the promotion. Similarly, Tumi Mhlongo achieved the position of Chief Stewardess through hard work. She deserved her promotion because she was passionate about her job. Unfortunately, Ben has yet to improve himself.

It’s hard to say if Ben deserves such a harsh punishment. However, he does need a lesson to help him understand that work is more important than romance. Captain Kerry knows that his new Bosun has potential. He also admitted to having faith in him, which proves he wants Ben to improve. Ben has a golden opportunity in his hand. If he can show Captain Kerry that he’s ready for the job, things can go in his favor. Captain Kerry may even request him to return for future Below Deck seasons and make him his right-hand man.

Below Deck airs every Monday at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo and streams the next day on Peacock.

Below Deck Recap: Vibe Time

how big is the sailing yacht on below deck

Physics tells us that drama can be neither created nor destroyed. (At least, that was my personal takeaway.) Now that Cat’s gone, it’s like the tension she had with the rest of the interior re-homed itself between Xandi, who has worked almost unceasingly all day, and Barbie, who just needs a sec to lie down and puff on her vape, all right?

Don’t get me wrong: Carriacou looks very nice, but the way the captain has talked about the island for the last episode and a half now had me expecting to take one look at the place, sell all my earthly possessions, buy a one-way plane ticket, and throw myself into my new life as soon as possible. As it is — I think I’m good, thank you. The beach is hard to access, with a strong current in the shallows. While the guests are happily snorkeling and drinking, Kerry and Ben are having a capital-B Bad time. The boat is making an upsettingly crunchy grinding noise thanks to sand getting into the impeller. Fraser, wisely, just keeps on refilling everyone’s Champagne glasses.

Sunset is turning to dark and a storm is blowing in. Captain Kerry makes the call: They need to go back, now. If the boat gets beached, they’ll be stranded overnight. Pretty sure I already saw that episode when it was theatrically released under the title Triangle of Sadness. But getting everyone aboard is not trivial — they have to time it right with the increasingly serious waves rolling in. Lesley, the primary, sort of just launches herself at the stern, prompting Kerry to yell, “No one moves toward the boat till I say so!” That’s the harshest I’ve ever heard him speak to a guest, though it certainly feels justified. Can you do everybody a favor and stay alive, please, at least through the length of the charter?

They make it back to the St. David without any casualties. But there will be a death on the yacht tonight. A murder, in fact. While the guests eat dinner and practice the vaguely British accents that for some reason always feel appropriate for an ambiguously period-y murder mystery (more accurately, they sound like sixth-graders cast as grown-ups in a school play, just sort of speaking more loudly and slowly than usual), the already-understaffed exterior scrambles to ad lib a series of staged clues, with the help of a bunch of random props that Fraser has ordered. The job description for deckhands has expanded considerably.

That’s not to say the interior isn’t doing their part, too. The game begins when Barbie runs into the dining room in a frenzy, screaming, “There’s been a murder!” She is so committed to the bit that she immediately falls over and exposes her whole butt. It is a very auspicious start to the festivities. Fraser is the evening’s Mr. Boddy, our designated corpse. “It’s Fletcher !” someone screams when they come upon him in the stateroom, not far from the murder weapon (a pizza roller).

The clues, (semi-)rhyming couplets, send the guests running all over the boat and they absolutely love it. The crew crushed this — as Ben points out, it’s also helpful that these people are pretty drunk.

What Anthony has in charm he lacks in organizational skills. The galley is even more of a war zone than usual, scattered with eggs (as always, so many eggs; beginning to believe that the yacht’s engine runs on crushed shells), various sauces and condiments (including at least two separate bottles of ketchup), a dirty blender, and more pots and pans than I would have thought were on the boat in total. It takes him until after 3 a.m. to finish cleaning up. Predictably, the next morning, he is totally exhausted. Fraser has to rise to the occasion and actually come up with a breakfast menu, a new responsibility he isn’t thrilled to take on. (Also, I feel like I never comment on the tablescapes except to rag on them, but I actually really like the bright-orange-rimmed plates combined with those swirly green vertical napkins. Go team!)

Our new deckhand finally arrives, birthed from the sea foam like Aphrodite. Dylan, a 23-year-old from Cape Town, has one of the widest smiles possible amid the constraints of human biology and is so hot that he immediately threatens to disrupt the established sexual ecosystem of the boat. He is also, I say this with affection, a complete weirdo. A formerly overweight kid who became extremely fit out of spite, he can now individually pop his pecs, which are named James and Barry. (Why? I assume we will never know.) He also speaks of his fondness for high-fiving strangers while out running. “They won’t understand any of it,” he says. “But they will remember you.” This is precisely how I already feel about Dylan.

Ben’s first docking as bosun goes off beautifully, even in the unwelcome presence of a big-ass cargo ship; I cannot parallel park under the best of terrestrial circumstances, so these people never fail to amaze me. Lesley says a very emotional and grateful good-bye and hands over what looks like a commensurately thick envelope. She tipped $30,000, which works out to a very healthy $2,725 per person (and a prorated $550 for Dylan). Captain Kerry is pleased with their work — A+ charter all around.

Dylan continues to distinguish himself on his first night out with his new co-workers. He tries to convince Kyle to take a shot via his nostril. He explains his theory that déjà vu is just, duh, memories we’ve lived on another of the many timelines we are currently experiencing. “It’s vibe time, baby!” he will later shout on the dance floor. “Vibe time is my time!” (In a confessional, Sunny and Barbie rate him a great potential one-night stand, as long as he doesn’t talk.)

While Kyle helpfully sucks a bug out of Fraser’s drink, and Dylan and Anthony stake their romantic claims on the replacement stew who has not even arrived yet, Ben spends time with Xandi. They’ve gotten a lot closer — she introduced him to her mom on FaceTime as her brother earlier that day. While they’re all out dancing, they hug and they whisper and Ben touches her waist. Sunny is deeply upset when she oversees these interactions, which, by the way, are scored hilariously to a club remix of the “Ride of the Valkyries.”

Was it sort of flirty, touchy-feely? Sure. This is Mr. “ I’m Cheeky, I’m Aussie, It’s Charismatic ” we’re dealing with, after all. But I believe Ben and especially Xandi when they say their relationship is platonic. Everyone knows what jealousy feels like, and it is a certified no-fun experience, so it’s not that I don’t feel for Sunny. But I will note that she recently shared in a confessional that the last time she was in love, she wasn’t actually in a relationship with the person — which, with admittedly zero additional context, does raise some question marks for me surrounding boundaries and expectations. She says Ben is “disrespecting what we have,” which raises the question: What do they have, exactly? Is he her boyfriend? Have they established if they’re dating exclusively? Do they have a clear understanding of what kinds of behaviors are and aren’t okay with the other person?

In happier news, Kyle and Fraser smooch on the van ride home.

Back on the boat, Barbie and Fraser slurringly try to smooth things over with all parties involved, to mixed success. I give Sunny credit for going to Ben directly to share her feelings. For her part, Xandi totally dismisses any possible romantic connection with Ben, because that would be “incestry [ sic ].” But she quickly gets pissed off at the thought that she’d be expected to change how she acts to protect someone else’s self-esteem. “Catch me outside,” she snaps, a phrase I do not believe I’ve heard a human being say aloud since at least 2018.
