Mark Cameron Yachts are delighted to have been appointed to act in the sale of the Victoria 34 Cutter ‘SULA of CONWY’.
The Victoria 34 was launched at the 1986 London Earl’s Court boatshow in answer to the growing demand from the companies existing client base for a large boat to follow on from the success of the Victoria 30 and Francis 26 . Designed by the highly regarded naval architect Chuck Paine the Victoria 34 was instantly recognisable as a development of the popular Victoria 30 , retaining the classic appearance and eye-pleasing sheer line.
A rare cutter-rigged ‘owners’ layout with an external lead ‘Paine Style’ keel. SULA of CONWY is a nicely presented example of the class providing a comfortable double bunk forward and two occasional berths in the saloon with a large single heads aft. In the current ownership since 2011 she has been significantly upgraded and comes with a comprehensive inventory highlights of which include:
- External lead ‘Paine Style’ ballast keel, inverted T-shape.
- Original blue gelcoat finish to topsides.
- Cream superstructure
- Teak laid decks
- Masthead cutter rig with self-tacking staysail
- Recently replaced sail – Mainsail 2016 and Yankee 2015
- Recently replaced canvas work – Mainsail cover 2016 and sprayhood 2015.
- Beta Marine Beta 30 marine diesel engine fitted new 2017.
- Darglow Featherstream stainless steel feathering propeller 2018.
- Domestic batteries replaced 2019.
Wintering ashore in Bangor, Wales. SULA OF CONWY will be recommissioned and launched in April 2020 before heading for the west coast of Scotland. The boat will be handed over to her new owner, afloat and ready to sail away.

After the successful Victoria 26, Peter Gregory wanted to develop a new, larger model with increased performance while still holding onto the traditional feel. In conjunction with the designer Chuck Paine, the Victoria 34 was the result and ended up being their flagship yacht. The Victoria 34 is a quality built seaworthy cruising yacht extensively equipped for comfortable long distance cruising or coastal holidays. ‘Speedwell’ is presented in excellent condition throughout, she has recently been re launched after a full polish, antifoul, deck clean, teak clean, engine and sail service. Recent major works include bow thruster installation, engine overhaul, standing rigging replacement, wind generator and Raymarine autopilot installations. She is afloat on her mooring in Falmouth Harbour.

Description.
World renown, modern classic from the board of Chuck Paine.
Owner very keen to sell.
Rarely available, this Victoria 30 has been on the market for a while now and the owner is keen for her to be sold.
Owned by a professional mariner, this boat comes simply equipped but easy to maintain.
The Victoria 30's were built by Northshore Yachts in the UK, most to Lloyds specification and differ to the US built boats of the same design, known as the Leigh 30's, by having encapsulated internal ballast.
These boats are particularly well balanced and a joy sail both in coastal waters or offshore. The Victoria 30's are not a typical long keeled yacht, Chuck Paine drew a fair canoe body and treated the keel as an appendage rather than part of the under body. This made the boats stiffer and more able to carry sail and tracked much better than a traditional boat of the same style.
Currently shrink wrapped and stored ashore in our yard, here in Portsmouth, RI and viewed by appointment.
The current owner has embarked on another project and is keen to sell the Victoria, so reasonable offers will certainly be considered.

The Victoria 30 is 30 feet long and has a 9.5 feet beam and can hold up to 12 gallons of fuel and 33 gallons of water. This 1985 diesel Victoria 30 powered by Yanmar 2GM20F. The Victoria 30 is made of fiberglass.
