Mark wears a lot of hats here at Kelly Yacht Sales. In this article you’ll learn a bit more about his background and love of all things nautical.

Mark honed his trade with renown brokerage Calibre Yachts, where over time he realized that by working for himself he could offer a more personalized service.

Since founding Kelly Yacht Sales with his wife Kimberly , Mark brings a friendly, down to earth perspective to yacht brokerage.

Mark’s dry sense of humour and frank approach makes him a good fit for helping people who prefer not to be ‘sold’ a boat.

Mark grew up on the east coast of the US and spent his summers on the water and around boats. He’s accumulated a lifetime of boating since then. Nearly 30 years ago Mark purchased his first cruising boat, a Canadian-built Grampian 30 that he lived aboard in Spruce Harbour Marina in downtown Vancouver.

Since then Mark has rarely been boatless, and currently owns two power boats and one sailboat. Mark and Kimberly have cruised from the San Juans to the Broughtons and the west coast of Vancouver Island.

Mark was a product manager with Mountain Equipment Co-Op and helped develop and launch many of MEC’s most iconic watersports products. From sourcing materials, factories, working with designers, and setting retail prices, Mark has decades of experience understanding how to create products that sell. He understands what motivates consumers and uses this knowledge to assist with your boat’s marketing, presentation, and sale .

Mark appreciates all the different aspects of boating. He has raced sailboats in Halifax Harbour, been fishing 100 miles off the coast of Texas, and in the spring of 2022 helped deliver a clients boat across the Atlantic.

At the end of the day, Mark loves being on, in, and around the water in any type of vessel.
