The 32.92m/108' sail yacht 'SeaQuell' (ex. Espada) was built by Alloy Yachts in New Zealand at their Auckland shipyard. Her interior is styled by design house Trish McKay and she was completed in 1992. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Ed Dubois and she was last refitted in 2011.

SeaQuell has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests in 3 suites. She is also capable of carrying up to 4 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Range & Performance

SeaQuell is built with a aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. Powered by twin diesel Lugger (L6140A) 569hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 10 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 12 knots with a range of up to 4,031 nautical miles from her 21,500 litre fuel tanks at 10 knots. Her water tanks store around 5,500 Litres of fresh water. She was built to ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) classification society rules.

The Albin 28 Tournament Express is the forerunner of the Albin series. Designed to satisfy the exacting demands of the offshore - inshore cruiser or fisherman, this boat also incorporates comforts normally expected for a family weekend on the water.

Appealing features include wide side decks, a large cockpit, a recirculating baitwell, rod storage racks, a sink with a chopping board, rod holders, salt water washdown and tackle drawers.

The forward cabin area has an enclosed marine head and shower compartment, a convertible dinette and a galley area with stove, refrigerator, microwave and sink. Aft of the galley is a 6'6"x 3'10"berth. Six opening portholes and an overhead hatch provide excellent ventilation.

With its bow thruster for dock-side maneuvering and its unequalled reputation as an offshore - inshore cruising or fishing boat.

The Albin 28 is a true delight to handle in any weather.

Sea Quell is a unique 109 foot yacht built by Alloy yachts. A stylish blue hull, unrivalled comfort and remarkable sailing performance makes a charter on this yacht one to remember. A large 25 foot beam enables an expansive full width salon with a C shaped seating area to the starboard and a dinning table for 8 guests to port. With cherry wood and warm colors through the interior she is both aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. On the fly bridge relax on the sun pads or enjoy dinning el fresco style under the shade of the cockpit with another table able to accommodate 8 guests. One of the most exceptional features of this yacht is a Spa Pool located on the aft deck. This is one of only few yachts with this special feature. Sea Quell is perfect for a family group with children or a group of couples as it boasts convertible cabins able to accommodate a variety of guest configurations. Refitted in 2005 Sea Quell has new carpet, sails and a shiny new paint job!!

Shark leaves teenage boy with 'big gashes' after he was bitten on boat off West Beach

A 16-year-old boy who was bitten in the leg by a shark off Adelaide's coast has been left with "big gashes" but is doing "fine", his family says.

Nathan Ness was on a fishing boat with his brother and sister when they caught the shark, believed to be a young great white,   about 1:40pm. 

His father Michael Ness, who was also on board, said he removed the hook from the animal's mouth and that they were about to throw it back when it suddenly turned around and snapped.

"We were out fishing and Nathan hooked up to a big shark. He reeled it up to the boat and we hauled it into the boat just to get the hook out and I grabbed a pair of pliers, ripped the hook out of it," Mr Ness said.

"Then he picked it up to throw it back into the water and take a picture of it and as he picked it up, it swung around and grabbed hold."

The teenager was bitten in the lower leg by the shark, which was estimated to be about five feet in length.

"I reached down then and opened its mouth and the shark let go and he hauled it up and threw it back in the water," Mr Ness said.

He expressed relief that the outcome wasn't worse, saying his son was doing well, considering what had occurred.

"He's fine, he just needs stitches. He's got big gashes in his leg," he said.

'The kid is lucky'

Paramedics were called to the West Beach boat ramp about 1:40pm,   and the SA Ambulance Service (SAAS) said the boy would be treated in hospital.

Nathan Ness's sister Megan said her brother had been left with minor flesh wounds, and the shark had taken a small "chunk" of his skin.

"He thought it would be cool if he held the tail so he could get a photo with it, and then the shark turned around and bit his leg," she said.

"There were only about three cuts, he's going to need to get stitches though.

"First he probably got shock, he was like 'get it off, get it off'."

She said they initially thought it was a Mako shark, but later found out it was a great white.

Fishermen Brodie and Colin North said it was unusual to catch sharks in waters off West Beach, and said the incident could have been much worse.

"They're lucky they got away with a few stitches considering the size of the shark and how aggressive they are when they're pulled onto a boat, especially given there were three children on board," Brodie said.

"The kid is lucky he didn't get bitten on a main artery."

"I've never seen anyone pull up a shark of any kind here," Colin North said.

"My word he was very fortunate."

There have been several shark attacks — three of them fatal — in South Australian waters in the past 12 months.
