Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2 Cast: Where Are They Now?

Here's what happened to Daisy, Colin, Captain Glenn and the rest of the Parsifal crew.

Considering the series filmed in August 2020, viewers are curious about the whereabouts of our Sailing Yacht favorites...and, more importantly, how the cast and crew managed to film for several weeks amid lockdown. As it turns out, the location of this season was chosen intentionally. At that time, Croatia remained one of few countries in the EU to accept American tourists. In a Reddit AMA , a producer for the show also explained that maintaining safety protocols (which likely included regular Covid testing) was key in filming this season.

Here's what happened to your favorite crew members from Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2:

Colin Macrae

Colin Macrae might serve as the Chief Engineer aboard the Parsifal III, however, when it comes to the inner workings of his relationship, things aren’t as black and white. Despite gushing over his relationship with Martina Alvarez last summer, Macrae revealed that he and Martina have officially parted ways. “Unfortunately my relationship with Martina came to an end a couple of months ago,” Colin captioned his most recent YouTube video . Although his romance is no more, Colin remains optimistic for what’s to come as he embarks on a “fresh start” in none other than Panama. Colin has also continued his efforts in creating content online documenting his many adventures in Linton Bay, Panama , where he’s resided over the course of the last few months.

Glenn Shephard

Captain Glenn Shephard is back and better than ever! The sailboat captain may only have 2 seasons of Below Deck under his belt, but his 20 years of experience certainly make him a notable addition to the Bravo family. Since his summer in Croatia last year, Gl enn has since moved to Spain , which Shephard has deemed his new “happy place.” While becoming a Bravo-lebrity can go to one’s head, Glenn has remained modest when it comes to his newfound fame. The star now offers Zoom sessions with fans of the show, where he dishes on behind-the-scenes details all while sipping cocktails on the Spanish coast.

First Officer Gary King walked away from his very first season on Below Deck Sailing Yacht feeling nothing but grateful. “Reminiscing about the last 6 weeks that have just flown by. I learned lessons that I’ll carry for life,” Gary wrote on Instagram . While fans have been rooting for him and fellow stewardess, Alli Dore to set sails on a possible romance, it appears as King has been flying solo since the series ended. After traveling about to a number of stunning locations, including Mallorca, Spain, Gary returned home to South Africa just in time for Christmas. The Bravo star has since remained in his home country, occupying himself with a series of visits to the golf range and a new passion for landscape photography and cooking.

The Michelin-star chef has been tuning in this season from her home in the Bahamas, and, well, she hasn't taken to it favorably. The star has posted a series of pics on her Instagram detailing her frustrations with herself on the show, claiming that she is “human and humans are imperfect.” Luckily for Natasha, her friendship with both Dani and Alli has blossomed immensely since wrapping up, and the two have been a huge support for Natasha as she cruises through these waves of criticism.

Daisy Kelliher

Being the Chief Stewardess on any yacht is no easy feat, and Daisy Kelliher is certainly feeling the burn. Following her time at sea in Croatia, Daisy, unfortunately, broke her wrist and found herself back home with mom and dad in Ireland . During lockdown, Daisy accepted a job in Antigua two months later, however, due to the current situation, her efforts at finding adventure fell flat. “I had completely lost myself,” Daisy captioned her photo on Instagram , revealing she began pushing friends away and entered a dark space. Luckily for the Below Deck star, she feels like herself again and is set to start a new job. During a live chat, Daisy revealed to co-star, Sydney Zaruba that she is most likely headed back to Europe, although she’s left much of what she’ll be doing a mystery.

Dani Soares

Dani Soares soared to being a fan favorite this current season and we don’t see that changing anytime soon. Soares, who reigns all the way from Brazil, has gone on to make quite a name for herself since her summer in Croatia. The star currently resides in Sydney, Australia where she is expecting her very first child. Dani revealed the news on social media back in April, however, both her due date and daddy status remain unknown. Although fans have inquired who the father is, Soares made it clear that it isn’t “anybody’s business.” As she embarks on her journey towards motherhood, Dani is currently working as a beauty therapist in the land down under all while taking in her recent rise to fame.

Alli Dore is the third stewardess to join the hit Bravo series, and boy are we glad she did. After wrapping up her summer in Croatia, Alli returned home to Australia, where she was born and raised. Her love for boating didn’t stop when the summer did, as she went on to spend her time in the Whitsundays Islands. As for Alli’s personal life, the star made an appearance on the Unpopular podcast where she revealed that she is pansexual. [I am] “attracted to people’s aura,” she revealed. Alli has gone on to start her very own IGTV series called Pita Party , which she stars in alongside Sailing Yacht co-stars, Daisy and Dani.

Sydney Zaruba

Sydney Zaruba found herself in quite the love triangle last summer in Croatia, but today, she is all about keeping her inner circle small. Sydney, who was born and raised in Florida, moved on over to the stunning island of Mallorca, Spain where she currently works on a 42-meter sailing yacht! This is nothing new for Sydney; considering her experience on Below Deck and, of course, her long history of sailing with her family. In addition to being at sea, Sydney decided to become a travel agent with Explorateur Travel. While the cast of Sailing Yacht has gone their separate ways since the summer ended, Sydney still managed to bump into none other than Captain Glenn on the streets of Palma.

Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux

Jean-Luc may be the youngest Below Deck crew member but he certainly makes up for it in height? Following his summer working on the Parsifal III, Jean-Luc traveled to Mallorca, Spain, an idea many of his co-stars had as well. Shortly after, the 25-year-old made his way on over to Costa Rica , which he’s called home for the last several months. Despite the remarkable views, Jean-Luc is entering some rocky waters as a plethora of rumors have surfaced questioning his role in Dani Soares’ pregnancy. Not only have fans been flooding his social media with questions concerning whether he’s the father or not, but fellow charter guest, Barrie Drewitt-Barlow also went on to add fuel to the fire. In an Instagram video posted back in April, Barrie claimed that Jean-Luc “was too busy getting the other one [Dani] pregnant … He’s gonna be a daddy,” he said. While Dani laughed off the comment, Jean-Luc has yet to address the rumors.

Why Below Deck Sailing Yacht Didn’t Bring Jenna MacGillivray Back After Season 1

The first season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht had Bravo fans hook, line and sinker. It took the original premise of Below Deck and intensified it into a more confining space. Oddly enough, though, none of the crew (save the captain) returned for the highly anticipated Season 2, which premiered on March 1. Fans were left wondering, why was chief stewardess Jenna MacGillivray not brought back?

Ahead of the Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2 premiere, Captain Glenn Shepherd and executive producer Jill Goslicky revealed in an AMA on Reddit why Jenna MacGillivray did not come back. What it, essentially, boils down to is exactly what MacGillivray was accused of not having last season: professionalism . Goslicky said,

The short is answer - we absolutely wanted Jenna to have the staying power of Kate and Hannah. In our dream scenario, every cast member we bring on board is such a hit they carry on for seasons and seasons. I also genuinely loved working with Jenna - she gets a lot of flack on social media, but she truly was great to work with. I think if I’m being truly honest… Jenna got swept up in a boatmance… and I think in that way, she didn’t allow herself to shine and show how amazing she truly is.

The relationship between chief stew Jenna MacGillivray and chef Adam Glick on Below Deck Sailing Yacht was the key drama of the season. They would often make out in front of the crew and talk smack in private about them. Though it was often a little over the top, and not to mention nauseating, it made for great reality television as they isolated themselves from the group.

Captain Glenn Shephard reflected,

I think the situation with Adam [Glick] - they would have been better postponing getting involved until the season was done. If I can see everything happening between Adam and Jenna in real time, I would probably tell them to tone it down and focus more on work than their personal lives.

The assertion that Jenna MacGillivray’s boatmance is the reason why she didn't return for Season 2 sounds more like MacGillivray's own reason. Fans were critical of her emotional entanglements while working, but they no doubt have always loved a stone-cold chief stew with an attitude. Hannah Ferrier and Kate Chastain set this precedent on Below Deck .

Jill Goslicky said that when the Below Deck producers and Bravo discuss bringing back previous crew members, the main question is: “Do they have compelling reasons for their story to continue on in the show?” Jenna MacGillivray has the most compelling reason out of the whole first season crew to come back on the show. At the reunion show of Below Deck Sailing Yacht , fans awkwardly learned that the two lovebirds were no longer together.

A similar occurrence happened on Below Deck: Mediterranean . Stewardess Aesha Scott got hot and heavy with Jack Stirrup on Season 4, only for fans to find out about a brutal breakup that involved cheating with an ex-girlfriend. But she had the last laugh when she came back for Season 5! Then again, Scott maintained a hero's role throughout her season, not MacGillivray's villain one.

Jill Goslicky teased that there is still potential for a Jenna MacGillivray comeback story. She hinted at the fact that many times crew will take off and return in a later season.

‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’ Season 2 Reunion: What You Need To Know

Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans are looking forward to the reunion. Most feel that this season has delivered with the drama. Others are disgusted with the boatmances and can’t wait for it to be over. Bravo exec Andy Cohen continues to tease fans with new details of the reunion.

Earlier this month, he asked fans if they have any questions for the cast. In the latest episode of Watch What Happens Live , he shared some details about the upcoming reunion. Apparently, things are well underway and the cast reunited to talk about the fiery season.

Andy Cohen dropped hints about Season 2 reunion

Earlier this month, Andy Cohen teased a possible Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2 reunion. On Friday, May 7, he took to Twitter to ask fans to submit their burning questions. This season only has six episodes left. Viewers can look forward to a tell-all reunion in which they can finally find out if Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux is the father of Dani Soares’ baby.

They also want to know if Alli Dore is dating Gary King. There are so many questions surrounding this season. Every season of the Below Deck franchise concludes with a reunion episode, just like most shows on Bravo. Andy Cohen has always been the host for these special episodes. However, there wasn’t always a reunion.

There’s a small chance that the reunion will happen in person. It’s most likely that the cast will reunite virtually. Since most of them live in various parts of the world, it would be easier for them to participate via Zoom. Dani currently resides in Sydney, Australia, where she is due to give birth.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht reunion is “gangbusters”

On a new episode of Watch What Happens Live , Andy teased that the Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2 reunion will be “gangbusters.” He confirmed that they filmed the reunion. It should be explosive since most of the cast members are close. There are also plenty of boatmances and love triangles playing out on the show.

Despite the Zoom format, it sounds like an electrifying episode. Andy shared a few details on Watch What Happens Live on Tuesday night. Actor Brianne Howey was a guest and they talked about this season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht . Andy then added, “Wait till you see the reunion, we just taped and it is gangbusters.”

Below Deck Sailing Yacht’s Captain Glenn Shephard Gives Update on Dani Soares and Jean-Luc’s Co-Parenting of Daughter Lilly Rose, Plus Cast’s Reaction

Avid Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans will definitely recall the paternity drama that unfolded between former stew Dani Soares and deckhand Jean-Luc Cerza-Launaux during their respective season on the franchise.

Although the two have apparently sorted out the paternity drama, their former boss, Captain Glenn Shephard , is giving us an update on how the couple is co-parenting following their split.

Speaking to Us Weekly , Glenn said Jean-Luc has somewhat stepped up to the plate and has “some involvement now” in daughter Lilly Rose’s life. He has even started up a college fund for her.

“I know that [Jean-Luc] has some involvement now with [his and Dani’s] baby. I heard that he’s setting up a college fund and that he talks to her regularly on zoom because they’re far apart,” Glenn told the outlet at the NBCUniversal Upfront on Monday, May 16. “[Dani is] in Australia and his boat is in the states. He has to keep working obviously and I don’t think he can go to Australia and start a job.”

Glenn admits he gets most of his updates on the couple through secondhand sources, but he added that he thinks Jean-Luc should do more, especially after adamantly dismissing the child as his own in the past.

“I was asking someone what’s his involvement because it’s been a while. Personally, I think he should do more. But I don’t know all the details. I’m not that close with them so I can’t really speak to it,” Glenn shared.

Viewers saw the whole drama play out on their screens between Dani and Jean-Luc.

“Let’s put it this way, this baby was made during the season while we had cameras 24/7 with us and I only slept with one guy,” Dani said in June 2021. “He hasn’t supported me at all in any way. He thinks it is not his child and he doesn’t want to have anything to do with it,” Dani said.

Several months after Dani gave birth to Lilly Rose, and after a paternity test that was demanded by Jean-Luc, he finally claimed the child as his own.

“I’m happy and proud to say sweet and beautiful Lilly Rose is my daughter,” he wrote in an Instagram post in January. “Dani and I have been working and communicating together to the best of our ability. This is imperative [to work out] for the sake of our daughter as she needs both parents in her life.”

Sometimes words just come a little too late, Jean-Luc. And Dani and her former castmates apparently agree.

Current Below Deck Down Under star and former Below Deck Sailing Yacht stew Alli Dore  told Us Weekly at the time, “I feel like after all the back and forth that happened and all the things that were said about Dani, there should have been a public apology in there to her.”

Chief engineer Colin MacRae also had some choice words for his former co-star, saying, “It’s never too late to redeem yourself with actions, but this pathetic attempt at owning up to being a father just for the sake of social media, with a complete lack of any form of support in real life, gains no respect from me whatsoever. Which is a crying shame because every child deserves to have a father.”

According to Captain Glenn, Dani and Jean-Luc appear to be making some headway in the line of co-parenting. Here’s hoping it continues.

Capt. Glenn and his comeback team Daisy Kelliher, Gary King and Colin MacRae resume their responsibilities aboard Parsifal III, along with new, dynamic crew members, as they set sail in Sardinia, Italy.  

Capt. Glenn realizes that his laid-back leadership style has allowed his crew to become too comfortable and starts taking charge of quality control in the interior department, much to Daisy's dismay. In the galley, Chef Ilesha's cooking impresses the guests, but her indecisiveness and co-dependency lead to time-management issues between courses, which causes her to self-destruct. Barrie and Tony Drewitt Barlow are Below Deck Sailing Yacht charter guests that fans of the show want to learn more about. They have a fascinating background that impacted U.K. history. However, they also had awkward drama. Thanks to these contrasting elements, these guests were memorable additions to the series.

Episodes featuring the Below Deck season 2 stars showed a different sort of trouble in paradise. It turned out that kids could be very fussy eaters. Chef Natasha De Bourg, who said that she is often underestimated because she is pretty, had trouble serving the large family due to all the requests. This strained her relationship with chief stew Daisy Kelliher. It didn't help that Barrie had taken up with his daughter Saffron Drewitt Barlow's ex Scott, and welcomed another child into their relationship. In fact, his marriage with Tony broke up because he was having an affair with his daughter's ex. Saffron drew a line in the sand about Barrie and Scott kissing in front of her. Barrie & Tony Were Fascinating Below Deck Sailing Yacht Guests

Barrie and Tony from the Below Deck franchise are a landmark couple. After a law was passed that legitimized LGBTQ+ marriage, they were the first pair of officially recognized gay dads in the United Kingdom. They have five children, and the future reality stars started their parenthood journey by having a set of twins who were conceived with a surrogate mother in Los Angeles. During that time period, gay men generally did not pursue this avenue, and adoption systems had ingrained biases against LGBTQ+ couples. Joining forces with a surrogate mother helped to set a precedent for other people who wanted to go the same route.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht's Tony & Barrie's Family Kept Growing

While the couple from Below Deck Sailing Yacht decided to sail through Croatia on the nautical reality series, they eventually stopped being romantic partners, but their separation was amicable. They maintain that their relationship became friendly, rather than romantic. The two chose to focus on being good parents. Barrie is with his daughter's ex, and Saffron has stated that she would rather not know details about their romance, as Barrie has no filter. Barrie has admitted that it's weird how he has fallen for someone half his age. Nevertheless, they're all maintaining relationships with one another.

Barrie and Scott's baby is named Valentina Willow Drewitt-Barlow, and she was born in October 2020. Tony had throat cancer in the early 2000s. Unfortunately, it returned in 2018. During his treatment, Tony fell for a nurse named Brent, who is significantly younger than him, and a very devoted partner. Part of the reason he signed on as a Below Deck Sailing Yacht charter guest is the fact that Tony wanted to spend every precious moment with his family, including his ex and children.

The two, along with their partners, needed to adjust to spending so much time together. Though they were still present in each other's lives, they did not want to be romantic partners. Barrie, who seemingly flirted with just about anyone, played a dangerous game. Tony was gracious, but it was unclear if his partner Scott was as patient with Barrie's personality. Barrie flirting with Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2 crew member Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux, right in front of Scott, may have reminded Scott of why Tony and Barrie ended their romantic relationship.

New Zealand hopes for SailGP victory in home event with strong winds forecast

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — New Zealand has a chance to close the gap on series leader Australia in its home SailGP event at Lyttelton on New Zealand’s South Island over the weekend.

The New Zealand event is the ninth of 13 legs in the series and with around 22,000 tickets sold is being billed as the largest ticketed sailing event in history.

Many more spectators are expected to watch the two-day event from boats around the course, raising concerns among conservationists for the endangered Hector’s dolphin which lives in and around Lyttelton Harbour and currently is in its calving season.

The SailGP series is in its fourth year and involves 10 teams racing identical high-tech foiling catamarans that can reach speeds of around 50 knots (57mph).

There are three regattas after Christchurch in Bermuda, Halifax and New York before the three leading teams compete in the San Francisco finale in July.

Each event involves six fleet races before a final, the winner of which is the event champion. The champion is awarded 10 points on the overall series standings, the second team nine points and so on down to one point for 10th place.

Australia has 66 points, eight clear of second-place New Zealand. Canada is next on 52, followed by Spain on 48 and France, Britain and the United States all on 45. Canada, in eighth place on 38, won the Lyttelton event last year from host New Zealand.

Lyttelton is again expected to provide good sailing conditions with the range of wind meaning boats will be racing near their upper speed limits.

New Zealand driver Peter Burling returns after missing the last leg of the series in Sydney while on paternity leave. Nathan Outteridge drove the New Zealand boat into second place in Burling’s absence but will drive for last-place place Switzerland this weekend.

“It’s definitely been an interesting season but (we’re) looking forward to our home event now and trying to ramp up into the Grand Final,” said Burling, who drove the New Zealand boat to wins in his last two events before his break. “Going for the hat-trick for myself. It’s going to be an absolutely awesome weekend.

“If you look at the forecast, it’s going to be a step up breeze-wise from last year.”

Australia’s win in Sydney was its first event win of 2024, though it’s consistency has taken it to the top of the series standings.

“It was important for us as a team,” Australia driver Tom Slingsby said of the Sydney victory. “We were sailing so well ... it was just getting a bit frustrating not being able to put it together in that final race. For us to get our first win in Australia was just the perfect fairytale.

“We’ve got that off our back and now we can start focusing on the end of the season and the Grand Final.”

New Zealander Phil Robertson was at the helm for Canada’s win here last year.

“Happy to do it again,” Robertson said. “I’m a Kiwi also and it’s awesome to race at home in front of all the fans.

“In my professional career I’ve raced here once before and that was last year so it’s nice to be back here and racing again. The conditions look epic and we’re amped to try an defend the title.”
