Καταπληκτικοί εκπαιδευτές! Πιστοποιημένο RYA, με μεγάλη εμπειρία. Πήρα το μάθημα Day Skipper με τον Δημήτρη και ήταν τέλειο. Έχει μια πολύ καλή προσέγγιση και καταφέρνει να διδάξει σε άτομα με 0 προηγούμενη εμπειρία, πώς να χειρίζονται ένα σκάφος. Επίσης συμμετείχα μαζί του σε πολλές ρεγκάτες και ανυπομονώ να κάνω περισσότερα μαθήματα με τον Aegeas!

Περάσαμε τις πιο εκπληκτικές στιγμές με την Aegeas Yachting σε πολλαπλά μαθήματα ιστιοπλοΐας! Ξεκίνησε με το Day Skipper, μετά το Coastal Skipper, και μάλιστα συμμετείχε σε μαθήματα το Σαββατοκύριακο όπως το Docking Course. Κάθε φορά, δεν μπορούσα να πιστέψω πόσα έμαθα. Οι skippers, ειδικά ο Στάθης και ο Δημήτρης, είναι απόλυτα επαγγελματίες. Γνωρίζουν τα πράγματά τους από μέσα και είναι εξαιρετικά υπομονετικοί με όλες τις ερωτήσεις μας. Ο τρόπος που διδάσκουν απλώς κάνει κλικ, ακόμα και για κάποιον σαν εμένα που μαθαίνει ακόμα τις γραμμές. Ένα από τα πιο ωραία πράγματα είναι το πώς σε κάνουν να αισθάνεσαι σαν μέλος του πληρώματος αμέσως. Μπορείτε να πείτε ότι τους αρέσει αυτό που κάνουν και είναι πάντα έτοιμοι με συμβουλές και συμβουλές. Είμαι πολύ πιο σίγουρος για τις ιστιοπλοϊκές μου ικανότητες τώρα, χάρη στον Aegeas. Δεν μπορώ να τα συστήσω αρκετά!

I had very good experience taking the day skipper course with them. Our instructor Dimitris showed great professionalism and taught us everything in very understandable manner. He also showed us many useful tips that cannot be found in the books. I learned so much and at the end felt confident sailing the boat. I highly recommend the Aegeas Yachting school!

I adress this review to all passengers and tourits using this compagny. The captain and his staff has no human being at all. Stucked alone on the island of Delos where is no hôtel and no restaurant, they refused me te get on board, even this payment. Don't trust this kind of people. I've never seen that before in my all life. Either they are nuts or non responsables at all!

Amazing experience during a Rya Day Skipper course with Dimitri. He is very calm and his explanations were always followed by a practical exercise so we can understand better. We arrived as students and left as friends. We used a Comet41S boat which is a blast. I sincerely recommend this school.

Amazing experience and lifelong skills I earned here! Under the watchful eye and great sense of humor of our instructor Dimitris, a crew of 6 people learned to dock, depart, tack, jibe, plot a course, read charts, identify vessel lights and motor at night. I really feel like my brain size doubled after a week of brand new information and boating practice. I catch myself now looking at how yachts are secured at docks, what knots they use and how they’ve spread out fenders. I now know all the steps involved in departing a dock from a longside mooring and how to brief of crew of 6 on their respevtive duties. It’s amazing to think I’ve lived all along without knowing anything about any of this. A few days after getting my RYA Day Skipper License here at Aegeas Yachting I still have the voice of Dimitris haunting me with clear brief commands “slow forward, release the bow line, helm to dock, release the stern line. ” I’ll be back for more fun times, for sure!

I enjoyed it tremendously and would plan to sail with them again hopefully next year. They also rent yachts and are ready to assist as very often you can end up on the same itinerary with the owners or skippers from their company sailing around Thassos.

I just finished 2 weeks charter with one of the boats from Aegeas Yachting. Great experience each year. Almost a decade I am returning back to Kavala and Aegeas Yachting. They have experienced and knowledgeable people, good fleet of different boats, always ready to assist, give advice, They also have training center for RYA with instructors teaching different levels of sailing skills. Back in 1990, Mr Theodor Giannakoudis, started teaching sailing to Greek students, with a small 40 footer boat. Till 2008, Mr Theodor had execute, more than 70 sailing schools, with Greek and foreign students. From 2004, the company offered also yacht charters services, since sailing holidays in Greece started to be very famous among sailors . A RYA Day Skipper course is a great way to learn the basics of sailing. It's a fun and rewarding experience that will give you the skills and knowledge to enjoy the sea safely.

INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED

The Royal Yachting Association (RYA) is the UK's national body for all forms of sailing. The RYA system is widely regarded as the world leader in international maritime qualifications and is recognised everywhere.

ZERO TO HERO

This 5-day course introduces you to the basics of sailing and teaches personal safety, as well as the basic techniques of handling and steering an agreement boat, to the level required to be a useful crew member. No age limit.

EVERYTHING IS PRACTICAL

The entire RYA Day Skipper course is hands-on and takes place on the boat, as does the exam. From the first hour you will get on the boat with the instructor and every command and manoeuvre will be explained through practice in real traffic and marine situations.

During the 5-day course you will learn ă The course will teach the piloting, technique and handling practices of recreational craft to the standards required to drive a sailboat, mainly in daylight and non-tidal waters.

The RYA Day Skipper course will  va ar ă the difference between being a crew member and a skipper. The course outlines the responsibilities and problems faced by a skipper and possible solutions to the most common of these.

It is the most requested course among candidates and can be combined simultaneously with one of the Competent Crew course levels. The minimum age for certification is 16 years old.

The aim of this course is to teach the skills and techniques needed to safely operate a yacht on coastal routes, both day and night.

The RYA Coastal course builds on the Day Skipper certification, in addition to assimilating the skills of sailing in coastal waters and sailing at night.

The minimum age for certification is 17.

I have been sailing for over 40 years, the last 25 years for professional purposes. I am a certified Yachtmaster Offshore sailing instructor. My diploma was issued by the Royal Yachting Academy (RYA), for boats up to 200 tons. Every year I sail over 5000 nautical miles, as a sailing instructor, in races or as a skipper on chartered sailboats. I have sailed at all levels in most Mediterranean countries and in the UK. In 2002, I crossed the Atlantic Ocean as a participant in the famous ARC race, aboard Aegeas, one of my oldest boats, a Sun Fizz 40. The starting point of this race is in the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and ends after about 3000 miles in Santa Lucia, an island in the Lesser Antilles archipelago, on the open shores of Venezuela.

Since I was seven years old, I have participated in dinghy races, winning numerous national awards. I am a graduate of the sailing department of the School of Physical Education and Sport Sciences. After graduation and for the past five years, I have worked as a skipper and sailing instructor for national level certifications. After gaining the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore qualification in 2015, I took things to the next level by completing courses and gaining RYA Cruising Instructor certification in Southampton, UK.

There are two airports offering many flights. The one in Kavala (Kavala Airport) is only a 20 minute drive from the town. The other in Thessaloniki (Thessaloniki Airport Makedonia) is an 80 minute drive using the new motorway. Starting your sailing trip from kavala’s port allows you many sailing destinations depending on the amount of days that you plan to sail. in general, there are the following options:. In addition to the beautiful port of Kavala (where Aegeas Yachting has permanent berths for their yachts), you can spend a night in the little harbour of Iraklitsa6 miles west) and Keramoti fishing harbor (15 miles east), very close to the Nestos river delta leading to the sea. Also located on the mainland coast are numerous bays, perfect for anchoring and swimming. We can also recommend the two small islands, Fidonissi and Thassopoula. The shortest crossing from Kavala to Thasos is 12 miles. There is one marina in the capital on the north side (free of charge), three fishing harbours, and many excellent protected bays providing anchorage for the night. Thassos is a beautiful island full of pine and olive trees that reach from the hills all the way down to the sea. The inland villages are also wort a visit. Lemnos (or Limnos) is 40 miles south from Limenaria (the south port of Thasos). The capital, Myrina, is beautiful, and the people are very friendly. If you decide to visit Lemnos, it’s best to stay on the south-west side, as that area has the best anchorages. Lemnos has excellent food, and is much cheaper than in Kavala. This island is 38 miles west from Thasos’ capital. Waterfalls and 35 “vathres”(small lakes) coming down from the mountain are picturesque and not something you’ll ever forget. Don’t forget to eat the local lamb prepared either on the grill or in the oven. Άγιος Ευστράτιος This is a small island 18 miles south from Lemnos. There is only one village with a population of 200 people, and only one taverna. Not bad a bad choice if you are looking for something really different! Νησιά βόρειων Σποράδων In longer charters, you can visit Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos and an additional four small islands. The closest one to Thasos is 80 miles (or 40 from Limnos) Weather Patterns in the North Aegean Around Thasos and the mainland coast, the sea conditions are usually light, no stronger than F5. The wind directions are primarily east, but after midday there are thermal winds, moving to southwest up to F4, excellent for sailing. Sailing to Samothraki, east from Thasos, the wind sometimes increases up to F7 from the east. It’s recommended to read the weather forecast before deciding to sail there. South from Thasos the wind direction changes gradually from east to north. Sometimes in Limnos I’ve needed to stay up to an additional three days in order to sail back to Thasos.
