The yacht delivers supreme comfort and privacy with five luxurious staterooms , including an on-deck Master Stateroom with a King bed, a VIP Stateroom with a Queen bed positioned elegantly above the main salon, and three additional staterooms on the lower deck consisting of one Queen and two Twin beds, one of which is convertible to a King. Each stateroom comes complete with advanced entertainment systems and ensuite facilities, ensuring relaxation and personal retreat for all guests.

Paul Garfield - Captain Paul born in England, raised in south Africa. Paul began racing sailing dinghies (Optimists) on a salt pan at 5 years old, leading to superyachts at age 19. He has worked on various yachts around the world settling into the 130ft range. Paul holds a Master 3000 tonnage certificate and has Captained yachts for over 10 years and has clocked several hundred thousand sea miles, including 14 Atlantic crossings. He was most recently at the helm of M/Y SWEET ESCAPE where he performed numerous successful charters in the Bahamas and Mediterranean. Paul loves water sports, he is a keen sailor, PADI dive master, jet ski instructor, and has recently taken up kite surfing. Now back in the beautiful Bahamas as the Captain of MY/ OCULUS, Paul’s goal is to create an exciting and fun and safe environment while providing the highest quality of service for guests. Nicholas De Waal - Chief Officer Born in Cape town, South Africa, Nick started his yachting career at a young age of 21 in Europe. He spent 5 years along the Mediterranean coast working on several busy private yachts. Nick is extremely excited to finally be here in the Bahamas! When not on the boat, you’ll find Nick in the water or at a gym. He loves Crossfit, playing squash and chess. Nick is looking forward to exploring the Bahamas with you and entertaining you all with his Dad jokes! (Sorry, but we did warn you) Taruna Aswani – Chief stewardess Taruna grew up in the busy city of Mumbai, India, where she graduated from Physical Therapy school in 2013 and has worked in various hospitals and clinics in India as well as the US. Despite loving her profession then, Taruna’s curiosity to explore the world, and love for travel brought her into the world of Yachting 6 years ago. Taruna has worked on several busy charter/private yachts on which she’s travelled the west and east coast of North America, Bahamas, Caribbean islands and her favorite so far, Scandinavia! Taruna spends all her energy (while never losing her smile) in creating beautiful memories for our charter guests and making sure every guest’s needs and demands are met, above and beyond their expectations! Taruna enjoys travelling, hiking, practicing yoga and although it takes little to make her happy, Taruna’s perfect day must involve the sun, sand and sea! Chelsi Lotter- Stewardess Born and raised in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, Chelsi has always had a love for the ocean, sports and animals. Chelsi grew up riding horses ever since she was 4 years old, and participated in various horse riding competitions with her equine beauty ‘Intaba’, her partner in crime for 6 years. She gave up her equestrian dream before embarking on her travels while she worked as a professional Au Pair, in parts of Netherlands and California. Loving every bit of her travelling experience and combining her love for the ocean, Chelsi decided to step foot into the Yachting world in 2020 and has never looked back! From an early age Thomas had a passion for Cooking, being inspired by both his grandfather and Step father who was a well known chef in Washington D.C. Thomas was accepted in o the Culinary Arts program and The Culinary Institute of America in N.Y and also studied at Le cordon Bleu. Thomas trained at many high end restaurants in Washington D.C and Maryland and has worked at several resorts and restaurants up and down the east coast as well as the US Virgin Islands. Thomas began his career as a chef yachts for over 5 years ago. He loves to prepare guests with a taste of the cuisine in the areas they are cruising as well as incorporating other flavors and styles to give it a unique twist. In his spare time he loves to be on the water, fishing, swimming and boating with his wife Alyssa and two children Charles and Thomas Jr. Having worked with Paul before, he joined the team. Johnathan Luszcz – Engineer Growing up in new England USA, in the brisk, abundant waters off the Atlantic, Rhode Island, Johnathan was drawn to the ocean. Graduating from New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) with a degree in Electrical Engineering (4 Year associates). His passion for the sea grew and his expertise took him to the Bahamas, Caribbean, South America, Mexico, the West Coast, and the South Pacific. Learning how to fish, scuba dive, Free diving and salvage boats, was just the fundamentals for beginning a life on the high seas. 12 years in the industry to date. His vast experience and knowledge ensures that Oculus runs smoothly. Nicholas Orry Pyfrom – Deckhand Orry, our youngest crew member, adds a youthful energy and enthusiasm to the team. Born and raised in the Bahamas, he has developed a strong affinity for the sea and his love for the Bahamas is evident in his enthusiasm for showcasing the best that the islands have to offer. Paul holds a Master 3000 tonnage certificate and has Captained yachts for over 10 years and has clocked several hundred thousand sea miles, including 14 Atlantic crossings. He was most recently at the helm of M/Y SWEET ESCAPE where he performed numerous successful charters in the Bahamas and Mediterranean. Paul loves water sports, he is a keen sailor, PADI dive master, jet ski instructor, and has recently taken up kite surfing. Taruna has worked on several busy charter/private yachts on which she’s travelled the west and east coast of North America, Bahamas, Caribbean islands and her favorite so far, Scandinavia! Taruna spends all her energy (while never losing her smile) in creating beautiful memories for our charter guests and making sure every guest’s needs and demands are met, above and beyond their expectations! Thomas was accepted in o the Culinary Arts program and The Culinary Institute of America in N.Y and also studied at Le cordon Bleu. Thomas trained at many high end restaurants in Washington D.C and Maryland and has worked at several resorts and restaurants up and down the east coast as well as the US Virgin Islands. Thomas began his career as a chef yachts for over 5 years ago. He loves to prepare guests with a taste of the cuisine in the areas they are cruising as well as incorporating other flavors and styles to give it a unique twist. A marine Biologist, his favorite place to be in the world is underwater, where you'll find him cave diving or teaching others how to scuba dive. Thomas was accepted in o the Culinary Arts program and The Culinary Institute of America in N.Y and also studied at Le cordon Bleu. Thomas trained at many high end restaurants in Washington D.C and Maryland and has worked at several resorts and restaurants up and down the east coast as well as the US Virgin Islands. Thomas began his career as a chef yachts for over 5 years ago. He loves to prepare guests with a taste of the cuisine in the areas they are cruising as well as incorporating other flavors and styles to give it a unique twist. He is known as the shark whisper of compass Cay, with an uncanny ability to relax the man size harmless, nurse sharks. Graduating from New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) with a degree in Electrical Engineering (4 Year associates). <br /> His passion for the sea grew and his expertise took him to the Bahamas, Caribbean, South America, Mexico, the West Coast, and the South Pacific. The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption). You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled). Paul Garfield - Captain Paul born in England, raised in south Africa. Paul began racing sailing dinghies (Optimists) on a salt pan at 5 years old, leading to superyachts at age 19. He has worked on various yachts around the world settling into the 130ft range. Paul holds a Master 3000 tonnage certificate and has Captained yachts for over 10 years and has clocked several hundred thousand sea miles, including 14 Atlantic crossings. He was most recently at the helm of M/Y SWEET ESCAPE where he performed numerous successful charters in the Bahamas and Mediterranean. Paul loves water sports, he is a keen sailor, PADI dive master, jet ski instructor, and has recently taken up kite surfing. Now back in the beautiful Bahamas as the Captain of MY/ OCULUS, Paul’s goal is to create an exciting and fun and safe environment while providing the highest quality of service for guests. Nicholas De Waal - Chief Officer Born in Cape town, South Africa, Nick started his yachting career at a young age of 21 in Europe. He spent 5 years along the Mediterranean coast working on several busy private yachts. Nick is extremely excited to finally be here in the Bahamas! When not on the boat, you’ll find Nick in the water or at a gym. He loves Crossfit, playing squash and chess. Nick is looking forward to exploring the Bahamas with you and entertaining you all with his Dad jokes! Thomas was accepted in o the Culinary Arts program and The Culinary Institute of America in N.Y and also studied at Le cordon Bleu. Thomas trained at many high end restaurants in Washington D.C and Maryland and has worked at several resorts and restaurants up and down the east coast as well as the US Virgin Islands. Thomas began his career as a chef yachts for over 5 years ago. He loves to prepare guests with a taste of the cuisine in the areas they are cruising as well as incorporating other flavors and styles to give it a unique twist. In his spare time he loves to be on the water, fishing, swimming and boating with his wife Alyssa and two children Charles and Thomas Jr. Having worked with Paul before, he joined the team. Johnathan Luszcz - Engineer Growing up in new England USA, in the brisk, abundant waters off the Atlantic, Rhode Island, Johnathan was drawn to the ocean. Graduating from New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) with a degree in Electrical Engineering (4 Year associates). His passion for the sea grew and his expertise took him to the Bahamas, Caribbean, South America, Mexico, the West Coast, and the South Pacific. Learning how to fish, scuba dive, Free diving and salvage boats, was just the fundamentals for beginning a life on the high seas. 12 years in the industry to date. His vast experience and knowledge ensures that Oculus runs smoothly. Nicholas Orry Pyfrom - Deckhand Orry, our youngest crew member, adds a youthful energy and enthusiasm to the team. Born and raised in the Bahamas, he has developed a strong affinity for the sea and his love for the Bahamas is evident in his enthusiasm for showcasing the best that the islands have to offer. His responsibilities include maintaining the exterior of the yacht, assisting with docking procedures, and providing exceptional service to guests.

Five cabins accommodate as many as ten guests. Her master cabin offers a walkaround king bed, desk/vanity, and en-suite bathroom with glass enclosed shower. Located on the main deck, the V.I.P. cabin features a walkaround queen bed, large windows for excellent lighting and views, and en-suite bathroom. Additionally, there is a queen guest cabin and two twin cabins that cabin be converted.

Her main salon offers a spacious lounge, barrel chairs, and large center coffee table. Out on the aft deck there is a round, glass top table with blue upholstered chairs. Up on the sun deck there is ample space to stretch out and relax, either under shade or in the sun, there are workout pads and equipment, and an in deck Jacuzzi.

Steps descend either side of the aft deck to her beach club. For watersports she offers 2020 37 foot Axoper Sun Top tender, 12 foot inflatable RIB tender, three Sea Doo Spark jet ski, water slide, 30 foot swimming pool, wakeboard, water skis, tube, surfboards, four inflatable paddleboards, giant 7 person inflatable paddleboard, kite surfing gear, hydrofoil, fishing and snorkeling gear, spear fishing gear, SNUBA diving forced air system, and rendezvous diving.

Previously named Perseverance II her luxurious interior is designed by Sam Sorgiovanni and her exterior styling is by Bannenberg & Rowell. Oculus's interior layout sleeps up to 10 guests in 5 rooms, including a master suite, She is also capable of carrying up to 7 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience. Oculus is one of the most iconic yachts to ever be built by Oceanfast Australia. Oculus was the brainchild of the godfather of modern yacht design, Jon Bannenberg, whose avantgarde designs will forever be part of the DNA of modern yachts. Originally commissioned in 1996, Oculus has undergone major top to bottom refits.  The most recent $3 million refit was completed in 2020. This included a complete new modern interior, an addition of a bridge deck VIP stateroom, a bridge deck captain quarters, 

a brand new sundeck addition with an outdoor theater, a hydraulic swim platform, and a new exterior color scheme.   For a yacht of her size, Oculus has tremendous amounts of exterior space.  On her bow, guests can enjoy a jacuzzi with unobstructed views. This area has room for 20 guests to comfortably relax and includes a waterslide and rock climbing wall.  For a more private experience, guests can visit the sun deck where there are 360 degree vistas. The area has a massive sun bed and is the perfect place to work out.  At night this area transforms into Club Medusa, where high fidelity sounds and lasers get the music talking to you. If guests prefer a more quiet evening, this area doubles as a comfortable outdoor theater.  Another beautiful space for guests’ enjoyment, is the bridge aft deck, a breathtaking place to recline with a cocktail and watch the sunset.  With three spectacular dining areas to choose from, our chef will tantalize guests taste buds and have them savoring world class cuisine throughout their experience on Oculus. For those who love watersports, we provide an extensive series of equipment to fully enjoy all the ocean has to offer.  These include jet skiis, paddleboards, wakeboards, surfboards, tubes , snorkel equipment, snuba scuba gear,  kiteboards,  and hydrofoils.  For stellar off yacht adventuring and fishing, jump aboard T/T Oculus, our 37′ Axopar exploration vessel.  Our professional crew will take you to the most coveted sites in the idyllic waters of the Bahamas and Caribbean for an unforgettable experience on one of the most stylish and versatile tenders ever made.

Fresh from an extensive refit and sporting a stunning new interior and sundeck, 39m (128ft) motor yacht OCULUS is now available for luxury yacht charter in the Bahamas and other Caribbean hotspots.

Custom built in 1996 by Oceanfast, OCULUS sleeps ten guests and is in as-new condition to explore the pristine beaches and secret coves that makes a luxury yacht charter in the Caribbean such a breathtaking experience.

This beautifully clean and uncluttered area has an alfresco cinema, so you can relax beneath the stars in the evening and enjoy a movie of your choice, and also a lounge area that doubles up as a workout space to use with the selection of gym equipment that the motor yacht comes with.

The foredeck is the perfect area for taking in wonderful coastal views, even better as you can do it whilst relaxing in the on-deck Jacuzzi. A few feet away you have a choice of expansive sunpads, communally located so you can just as easily catch up with your friends and family or drift away into your own world as you make your way past diamond white sands whilst the warm breeze gently envelopes you.

Stepping inside and the interiors from M Design offer a timeless elegance. Warm and rich wooden panelling contrasts with silvery-white and cool blue accents in the furnishing. With exquisite attention to detail, everything from the carefully chosen cushions to the characterful artwork that adorns the walls work together to create a warm and welcoming environment that is light and airy during the day and cosy and comfortable in the evenings.

As part of the refit a bridge deck VIP stateroom has been added that offers views as breathtaking as the cabin itself, thanks to huge windows.

The rest of the accommodation is made up of the glorious Owner's suite, one double cabin and two twin cabins, one of which converts to a double. Each cabin has a truly regal feel, with the dark wood panelling, light-coloured furnishings and soft under bed lighting working together to create a true sanctum of peace and serenity.

OCULUS also has an extensive toy list that includes three jet skis, a waterslide, paddleboards, a hydrofoil and much more.

About Oculus

Oculus is a 39.01m motor yacht specifically designed for fun in the sun.  built by oceanfast to a design by jon bannenberg, oculus has enormous appeal..

Having undergone a significant refit in 2020, which included a full interior refurb, the addition of a hydraulic swim platform and a new sun deck complete with outdoor cinema setup, OCULUS has all the style and amenities of the latest superyacht launches.

A huge L-shaped sofa occupies much of the main saloon and the deep-cushioned seats make relaxed comfort unavoidable. The arrangement centres around a 65” TV screen and the neutral colour palette, with accents of oceanic blues, is incredibly calming.

This colour scheme runs throughout the yacht and is complemented by grey upholstery and linens in the guest suites.

OCULUS has accommodation for 10 guests in total with the configuration comprising three doubles and two twins (one of which can be converted to form a fourth double cabin). The master suite takes prime position on the main deck and benefits from a king size bed as well as a sizeable en suite. There’s a VIP double on the bridge deck that enjoys fantastic, elevated views, and the remaining cabins are located on the lower deck – all beautifully appointed in the same luxurious style.

Guests can dine in the formal dining room, adjacent to the saloon, or luncheon al fresco at the large round table to aft on the bridge deck.

OCULUS’ foredeck space has been optimised to create an exceptional beach club lounge with sofas, sun loungers, optional shade and a Jacuzzi positioned on the bow. More sun pads are found on the sun deck and this uncluttered space is ideal for a little morning workout – OCULUS carries a selection of yoga mats, weights and resistance bands exactly for this purpose.

The swim platform is large enough to lie out on if you fancy being closer to the water and this is extended by the use of various inflatable platforms that facilitate easy access to and from the sea as well as the water toys.

OCULUS has a great range of sports equipment and water toys to keep guests of all ages entertained. There are three Seadoo Spark jetskis, four stand-up paddleboards and a hydrofoil.  Guests can wakeboard, water ski, go snorkelling, fishing or kite surfing and there’s even an inflatable waterslide and rock-climbing wall.

OCULUS is served by seven crew and a 37-foot Axopar tender – perfect for island hopping and extended days at anchor. OCULUS has stabilisers to smooth her motion underway and has a top speed of 13 knots.
