Represented by DMA Yachting, the breathtaking charter yacht OCULUS is a 128 ft motor yacht featuring a jetski and a hot tub. OCULUS spends the summer and winter season in the Bahamas. She was delivered by the famous yacht builder Oceanfast in 1996. A well-done refit was finalized in 2020. The ingenious yacht layout features 5 large cabins and easily accommodates up to 10 guests.

OCULUS is classified as a superyacht. The key part of the yacht, the aft deck, elegantly connects to the meticulously composed main saloon. The main saloon is a well-design space with comfortable seating and entertainment areas and offers a range of entertainment options. 5 spacious cabins are thoughtfully spread out for maximum privacy and comfort.

The motor yacht features 396 MTU Detroit diesels Stanford engines .

Paul Garfield - Captain Paul born in England, raised in south Africa. Paul began racing sailing dinghies (Optimists) on a salt pan at 5 years old, leading to superyachts at age 19. He has worked on various yachts around the world settling into the 130ft range. Paul holds a Master 3000 tonnage certificate and has Captained yachts for over 10 years and has clocked several hundred thousand sea miles, including 14 Atlantic crossings. He was most recently at the helm of M/Y SWEET ESCAPE where he performed numerous successful charters in the Bahamas and Mediterranean. Paul loves water sports, he is a keen sailor, PADI dive master, jet ski instructor, and has recently taken up kite surfing. Now back in the beautiful Bahamas as the Captain of MY/ OCULUS, Paul’s goal is to create an exciting and fun and safe environment while providing the highest quality of service for guests. Nicholas De Waal - Chief Officer Born in Cape town, South Africa, Nick started his yachting career at a young age of 21 in Europe. He spent 5 years along the Mediterranean coast working on several busy private yachts. Nick is extremely excited to finally be here in the Bahamas! When not on the boat, you’ll find Nick in the water or at a gym. He loves Crossfit, playing squash and chess. Nick is looking forward to exploring the Bahamas with you and entertaining you all with his Dad jokes! (Sorry, but we did warn you) Taruna Aswani – Chief stewardess Taruna grew up in the busy city of Mumbai, India, where she graduated from Physical Therapy school in 2013 and has worked in various hospitals and clinics in India as well as the US. Despite loving her profession then, Taruna’s curiosity to explore the world, and love for travel brought her into the world of Yachting 6 years ago. Taruna has worked on several busy charter/private yachts on which she’s travelled the west and east coast of North America, Bahamas, Caribbean islands and her favorite so far, Scandinavia! Taruna spends all her energy (while never losing her smile) in creating beautiful memories for our charter guests and making sure every guest’s needs and demands are met, above and beyond their expectations! Taruna enjoys travelling, hiking, practicing yoga and although it takes little to make her happy, Taruna’s perfect day must involve the sun, sand and sea! Chelsi Lotter- Stewardess Born and raised in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, Chelsi has always had a love for the ocean, sports and animals. Chelsi grew up riding horses ever since she was 4 years old, and participated in various horse riding competitions with her equine beauty ‘Intaba’, her partner in crime for 6 years. She gave up her equestrian dream before embarking on her travels while she worked as a professional Au Pair, in parts of Netherlands and California. Loving every bit of her travelling experience and combining her love for the ocean, Chelsi decided to step foot into the Yachting world in 2020 and has never looked back! Chelsi cannot wait to have you all onboard and make sure you’re all well taken care of and full of smiles throughout your stay on your floating home, Oculus Thomas Rider – Chef Chef Thomas Rider is American Born from Washington D.C. From an early age Thomas had a passion for Cooking, being inspired by both his grandfather and Step father who was a well known chef in Washington D.C. Thomas was accepted in o the Culinary Arts program and The Culinary Institute of America in N.Y and also studied at Le cordon Bleu. Thomas trained at many high end restaurants in Washington D.C and Maryland and has worked at several resorts and restaurants up and down the east coast as well as the US Virgin Islands. Thomas began his career as a chef yachts for over 5 years ago. He loves to prepare guests with a taste of the cuisine in the areas they are cruising as well as incorporating other flavors and styles to give it a unique twist. In his spare time he loves to be on the water, fishing, swimming and boating with his wife Alyssa and two children Charles and Thomas Jr. Having worked with Paul before, he joined the team. Johnathan Luszcz – Engineer Growing up in new England USA, in the brisk, abundant waters off the Atlantic, Rhode Island, Johnathan was drawn to the ocean. Graduating from New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) with a degree in Electrical Engineering (4 Year associates). His passion for the sea grew and his expertise took him to the Bahamas, Caribbean, South America, Mexico, the West Coast, and the South Pacific. Learning how to fish, scuba dive, Free diving and salvage boats, was just the fundamentals for beginning a life on the high seas. 12 years in the industry to date. His vast experience and knowledge ensures that Oculus runs smoothly. Nicholas Orry Pyfrom – Deckhand Orry, our youngest crew member, adds a youthful energy and enthusiasm to the team. Born and raised in the Bahamas, he has developed a strong affinity for the sea and his love for the Bahamas is evident in his enthusiasm for showcasing the best that the islands have to offer. His responsibilities include maintaining the exterior of the yacht, assisting with docking procedures, and providing exceptional service to guests.

Most expenses are deducted from an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), a fund that is added on top of the charter price. The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption). You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled). Five cabins accommodate as many as ten guests. Her master cabin offers a walkaround king bed, desk/vanity, and en-suite bathroom with glass enclosed shower. Located on the main deck, the V.I.P. cabin features a walkaround queen bed, large windows for excellent lighting and views, and en-suite bathroom. Additionally, there is a queen guest cabin and two twin cabins that cabin be converted.

Her main salon offers a spacious lounge, barrel chairs, and large center coffee table. Out on the aft deck there is a round, glass top table with blue upholstered chairs. Up on the sun deck there is ample space to stretch out and relax, either under shade or in the sun, there are workout pads and equipment, and an in deck Jacuzzi.

Steps descend either side of the aft deck to her beach club. For watersports she offers 2020 37 foot Axoper Sun Top tender, 12 foot inflatable RIB tender, three Sea Doo Spark jet ski, water slide, 30 foot swimming pool, wakeboard, water skis, tube, surfboards, four inflatable paddleboards, giant 7 person inflatable paddleboard, kite surfing gear, hydrofoil, fishing and snorkeling gear, spear fishing gear, SNUBA diving forced air system, and rendezvous diving.

The luxury motor yacht OCULUS, previously named PERSERVERANCE II, was built by Oceanfast and delivered to her owner in 1996, she later underwent a refit in 2020.

OCULUS has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 10 charter guests in 5 suites.

The guest cabins comprise a primary suite with a king size bed and en-suite bathroom facilities, 2 cabins with a queen size bed and en-suite bathroom facilities and 2 cabins with a twin bed and en-suite bathroom facilities.

The interiors from M Design offer elegant and timeless environments suited to celebrating a special occasion as much as indulgent family charters: Warm and rich wooden panelling is contrasted by silvery-white and cool blue accents in the furnishings, and the very latest AV technology is integrated into the surroundings. Whether staring the day or returning from an adventure, the main salon is a versatile environment offering complete comfort.

The shallow draft of just 1.96m (6′ 5″) will grant guests access to some of the best-secluded anchorages and landmarks the Bahamas has to offer, such as the pink sand beaches along the coasts of Eleuthera, the dramatic white cliffs of Long Island and the shallow Bight of Acklins. While guests cruise to these magnificent sights, they can take in the surroundings from the Jacuzzi or while dining or lounging in the shade on the foredeck. Fresh from an extensive refit and sporting a stunning new interior and sundeck, 39m (128ft) motor yacht OCULUS is now available for luxury yacht charter in the Bahamas and other Caribbean hotspots.

Custom built in 1996 by Oceanfast, OCULUS sleeps ten guests and is in as-new condition to explore the pristine beaches and secret coves that makes a luxury yacht charter in the Caribbean such a breathtaking experience.

This beautifully clean and uncluttered area has an alfresco cinema, so you can relax beneath the stars in the evening and enjoy a movie of your choice, and also a lounge area that doubles up as a workout space to use with the selection of gym equipment that the motor yacht comes with.

The foredeck is the perfect area for taking in wonderful coastal views, even better as you can do it whilst relaxing in the on-deck Jacuzzi. A few feet away you have a choice of expansive sunpads, communally located so you can just as easily catch up with your friends and family or drift away into your own world as you make your way past diamond white sands whilst the warm breeze gently envelopes you.

Stepping inside and the interiors from M Design offer a timeless elegance. Warm and rich wooden panelling contrasts with silvery-white and cool blue accents in the furnishing. With exquisite attention to detail, everything from the carefully chosen cushions to the characterful artwork that adorns the walls work together to create a warm and welcoming environment that is light and airy during the day and cosy and comfortable in the evenings.

As part of the refit a bridge deck VIP stateroom has been added that offers views as breathtaking as the cabin itself, thanks to huge windows.

The rest of the accommodation is made up of the glorious Owner's suite, one double cabin and two twin cabins, one of which converts to a double. Each cabin has a truly regal feel, with the dark wood panelling, light-coloured furnishings and soft under bed lighting working together to create a true sanctum of peace and serenity.

OCULUS also has an extensive toy list that includes three jet skis, a waterslide, paddleboards, a hydrofoil and much more.

The plethora of water toys combined with OCULUS’ shallow draft of just 1.96m (6.5’) means guests will have access to the many secluded lagoons and bays the Bahamas is famous for.
