Link can stumble upon Misko's EX Journal , found in the southernmost building of the Outpost Ruins . The journal states that armor worn by fierce phantoms that were featured by heroes can be found in the ruins of Hyrule Field . [1] The book references the locations of all three items in the Phantom Set that Link can find.

Phantom Helmet

The journal points Link towards a battleground, where brave souls tested their skill. This refers to the Coliseum Ruins , located at just north of the Great Plateau . The chest is along the northwestern wall of the ground floor. It may be a good idea to take care of the Lynel that appears here before trying to recover the treasure chest. The chest camouflages with the ground, so use Magnesis to more easily spot it.

Phantom Armor

The journal points Link towards the ceremonial grounds where royal guards are honored. This is in reference to the Sacred Ground Ruins located at the north end of Hyrule Field, just south of Hyrule Castle and the Hyrule Castle Town Ruins . The area is surrounded by dangerous Guardian Stalkers , so it may be a good idea to get rid of them first. The chest is located in the shallow pond just southeast of the ceremonial platform. Use Magnesis to more easily find the chest.

Phantom Greaves

The journal points Link to ruins where the soldiers of Hyrule gathered. This is in reference to the Hyrule Garrison Ruins . The treasure can be found buried underneath an inactive guardian at the southeast end of the ruins. It is a bit hard to spot, so it is a good idea to use Magnesis to more easily find it.

The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild - EX Treasure Dark Armor Side Quest Walkthrough

Here's everything you need to know if you want to wear this villainous attire in The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild.

Quick Links

Where to find misko's ex journal 2, phantom ganon set locations, phantom ganon set stats.

There's no doubt that back in 2017, when it first came out, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild took the world by storm. Many fans that played through the main story of the game were delighted to know that it would be getting additional content with DLC.

RELATED: The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild - How To Get Every Type Of Arrow

In the Champion's Ballad DLC, tons of classic outfits from previous Zelda games were added to the game, giving Link the chance to retrieve them. In this guide, we'll tell you exactly how to get through this side quest if you want to obtain the Phantom Ganon set.

Misko has stolen notorious outfits collected by the royal family of Hyrule. To find clues to continue, you have to first find Misko's EX Journal , which is rumored to be somewhere in the Deya Village Ruins .

The Deya Village Ruins are in the water just by Deya Lake . You can get there quickly by fast traveling to the Bosh Kala Shrine or the Dueling Peaks Tower. The journal can be found on a piece of wood inside a destroyed home in the southeastern area of the ruins.

There is what appears to be a large rock in the central area of the ruins; this is actually a Stone Talus , so you must be careful if you walk too close to it as it may trigger it to attack.

The journal will provide key information that will help you find the three pieces of armor that compose the complete Phantom Ganon set .

To complete the "EX Treasure: Dark Armor" side quest, you must find all three parts of the Phantom Ganon set. Two of them are underwater, and one is in the ground, and you must use the Magnesis rune to get all three parts of the set .

Phantom Ganon Skull

According to the journal entry, the Phantom Ganon Skull can be found at the highest of three waterfalls north of Lake Floria , with Faron Tower and Shoda Sah Shrine being the closest fast-travel locations. This note talks about the waterfall that flows down from Corta Lake to Floria River .

There are three waterfalls there, and the chest is underneath the waterfall closest to the top . Activate the Magnesis rune to be able to see the chest below the water and pull it up and move it onto land.

Phantom Ganon Armor

The next piece of Ganon's clothing can be found at the bridge between small waterfalls over the Floria River , with Faron Tower being the closest fast-travel location.

After retrieving the first piece of armor, you will see that the Floria River flows west. Follow the river until you've reached the bridge by the Sarjon Woods - this bridge leads from the Sarjon Woods to the Zonai Ruins.

Activate Magnesis to find the chest in the water underneath the bridge . Then, either use Cryonis to make an ice platform to reach it or move it onto the nearby rocks.

Phantom Ganon Greaves

As Misko's journal indicates, the final part of Ganon's set is at the broken stone bird of Ebara Forest , with Qukah Nata Shrine, Shai Utoh Shrine, and Faron Tower being the closest fast-travel locations. Ganon's greaves are actually quite close to where you will find the Phantom Ganon Skull headgear.

Ebara Forest is just by Lake Floria; you can take the Floria Bridge to reach it . In the western area of the forest, where you'll be able to overlook the waterfalls, you will find three bird statues made of stone. One of the statues has a broken head, and right behind it is where you'll find the last treasure chest .

Once again, you must activate Magnesis to pull the chest out of the ground. As soon as you have retrieved the three treasure chests, the side quest will appear on the screen as complete.

You can now keep searching for the other exclusive clothing articles mentioned in Misko's EX Journal 2 .

It does take a bit of work to collect the three parts of this armor, so is it worth it besides now looking like Ganon himself?

Each piece of the Phantom Ganon set will increase your stealth, which can be great to sneak up on enemies. On top of that, once you've got every part of the set, you can equip all garment parts to receive a bonus; wearing the full set will cause Link to become disguised against certain enemies and give him a Bone Atk. Up status increase .

When equipped with the complete Phantom Ganon set, in Link's inventory, it will say "disguised", but it doesn't clarify that it only disguises Link against skeletal enemies, this only includes Stalkoblins, Stalmoblins, and Stalizalfos . It is good to have this in mind before approaching any other enemies, thinking that they won't attack Link on sight.

The Bone Atk. Up stat change increases the amount of damage that Link will inflict when using bone-based weapons such as Dragonbone Moblin Club, the Dragonbone Boko Bow, and the Dragonbone Boko Spear.

Unfortunately, each piece of the armor only provides four protection , which means when wearing the full set, Link will only have a total of 12 protection . There is also no other way to improve the armor since it cannot be enhanced at Great Fairy Fountains .

If you're still very early on in the game or in a specific situation surrounded by Stal enemies, the Phantom Ganon set might be useful. Otherwise, there is much stronger armor in the game that will quickly make this set obsolete in terms of protection efficiency.

Breath Of The Wild: How To Complete The EX Treasure: Dark Armor Side Quest

Getting the full Phantom Ganon Set of armor can be tough without understanding where each clue is supposed to send players.

Players that have experienced The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and are looking for more should check out the few DLC packs that have been released for the classic. These DLC packs include new stories, new shrines , and plenty of new items to collect.

RELATED:  Breath Of The Wild: The Location Of Every Stable In The Game

Among the items added in The Champions' Ballad DLC was the Phantom Ganon Set. Each piece of the set increases Link's overall stealth. Wearing the full set will prevent enemies from attacking him using the Disguise Set Bonus and the full set will also increase the attack of bone weaponry. The set of armor can be found through the "EX Treasure: Dark Armor" Side Quest .

How To Start The Quest

Upon reaching the Kingdom of Hyrule, players will be given a quest that details how the royal family used to love finding outfits with historical significance. Unfortunately, a bandit named Misko stole them from the family. The Phantom Ganon Set was among the items taken. To initiate the quest, players must find Misko's EX Journal 2. This will give them details as to where exactly each piece of the armor is located.

RELATED:  The Legend Of Zelda: Ranking Every Armor Set In Breath Of The Wild

The objective will hint that the journal is located in the Deya Village Ruins. Once the player is there, the book will be in a large destroyed house with a broken wagon right next to it. Once obtained, players can read the journal to get exact details as to where the armor pieces are located.

One big hint the book reveals is that all three items are in the Faron region in the jungle areas. Note that players will need the Magnesis Rune to retrieve some of the items.

How To Get Phantom Ganon Skull

The first clue in the journal states that one of the pieces is "at the highest of three waterfalls north of Lake Floria." This is referring to the waterfall that connects to a stream flowing from Corta Lake to Lake Floria.

Players should use their Zora Tunic to swim the waters to reach the waterfall base. From there, players can use the rune to pull the chest out of the water. Finding the chest will earn the player the Phantom Ganon skull.

How To Get Phantom Ganon Armor

The second clue in the journal states that the next piece is "at the bridge between small waterfalls at Floria River." This is specifically referring to the Sarjon Bridge near the Sarjon Woods .

Players can reach the bridge by first heading to Floria Lake and finding the largest river that flows out of it on the west. Once walking along that river, players can find the bridge and use the rune to retrieve the chest from under the water. This chest will contain the Phantom Ganon Armor.

How To Get Phantom Ganon Greaves

The clue to the final piece of the armor says that it is located " at the broken stone bird of Ebara Forest." This area is located directly east of Floria Lake. If players follow the path in the forest, they should easily stumble upon a few bird statues. One of these statues will look a bit more broken than the rest of them. The chest is buried a bit behind the broken statue and can be pulled out of the ground using the Magnesis Rune. This chest contains the Phantom Ganon Greaves.

Majora’s Mask in Breath of the Wild

The Master Trials DLC brings Majora’s Mask and its associated “ EX Treasure: Ancient Mask ” side quest into The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild . Majora’s Mask is “an eerie mask passed down from ancient times. Wearing it makes it harder for certain enemies to spot you,” according to the item’s description. In this guide, we’ll show you how to find Majora’s Mask.

EX Treasure: Ancient Mask side quest

When you boot up Breath of the Wild after installing The Master Trials DLC, you’ll receive the “EX Treasure: Ancient Mask” side quest. Its text says:

The royal family of Hyrule collected historically significant outfits, but they were stolen by a bandit named Misko. On of the items stolen was an ancient mask. There's a journal that places the location of this treasure somewhere in the Outpost Ruins…

Travel to the Great Plateau tower, the closest warp point to the journal.

How to find Majora’s Mask: The Great Plateau tower

 alt=

Travel to the Great Plateau tower , the first tower you ascended in Breath of the Wild . At the top, face east toward the Dueling Peaks and paraglide off. Your destination is the southernmost part of the Outpost Ruins . (You can see the exact location and the path you’ll need to travel in the gallery above.)

In the Outpost Ruins, look for a book — Misko’s EX Journal — on a table against a wall. Read the book, which says (in part):

The ancient mask lies at the ruins where soldiers gathered. From there, the waters of Lake Kolomo are visible.

Reading Misko’s EX Journal will update your adventure log for all eight of the stolen relics — Majora’s Mask, the Tingle armor set , Midna’s Helmet and the Phantom armor set .

You’ll find a new waypoint in the “EX Treasure: Ancient Mask” side quest, which adds:

Misko's EX Journal gives the location of the ancient mask…but where could it be talking about?

The answer: On the south shore of Lake Kolomo , you’ll find Kolomo Garrison Ruins , northwest through the Forest of Time from your location at the Outpost Ruins . (Check out the image below to see the path you need to take.)

How to find Majora’s Mask: Kolomo Garrison Ruins

The treasure chest (marked with an “ EX ”) containing Majora’s Mask is buried in the ground around the corner from the westernmost doorway. Use magnesis to dislodge it. Opening it will complete the “EX Treasure: Ancient Mask” side quest.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild Phantom Armor Location Guide to help you find the entire Armor Set featured in the Master Trials DLC.

How To Get Phantom Armor In Zelda: Breath Otf The Wild

With the release of Master Trials DLC for Breath of the Wild, Nintendo decided to include more side quests and better gear to keep the player base engaged. One such gear is the Zelda BOTW Phantom Armor Set which acknowledges the existence of Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks in the same universe.

Phantom Armor set is a part of the quest EX Treasure: Phantasma in the Master Trials DLC . As with the other DLC armor sets, Phantom set can’t be dyed or upgraded at the Great Fairy Fountains .

How to start EX: Phantasma quest in Zelda BOTW

To start the quest for Phantom Armor set, Link needs to travel to the Outpost Ruins in Central Hyrule and read a journal lying on a table in a destroyed building. The exact location of Outpost Ruins is to the South of Forest of Time and North of Eastern Abbey . Travel to the Great Plateau Tower and glide towards East to reach this location easily.

Reading Misko’s journal will initiate Ex Treasure: Phantasma side quest which indicates there are three pieces of Phantom equipment to be found in the ruins of Hyrule Field.

This chest gear is hidden inside an EX-treasure box buried in Sacred Ground Ruins . The path to this area is perilous and full of Ancient Guardians. Once you reach the Sacred Ground Ruins, use your Magnesis rune to locate a treasure box buried in a dry fountain beneath rubble.

This leg piece provides 8 base damage protection in addition to Attack Up bonus.
