As the 5th Monaco E-Prix and Salon Ever ends in the Principality, both focused on sustainability and renewable energy, the Yacht Club de Monaco has extended its lead in the search for eco-friendly solutions as it gears up for the 9th Monaco Energy Boat Challenge 4-9 July 2022.

Held under the aegis of the collective ‘Monaco, Capital of Advanced Yachting’ umbrella brand and bringing together a new generation of engineers, Monaco Energy Boat Challenge intends to play its part in meeting the 21st century’s energy and environmental challenges. It is doing this by promoting innovative solutions for recreational boats, particularly in the propulsion and alternative energy field. Since its launch in 2014, the event has gone from strength to strength establishing itself as the international rendezvous for tomorrow’s yachting.

salon yacht club monaco

For this edition, more than 35 teams, including 27 universities will represent 20 nationalities in the Principality. “We want to build the future through an eco-responsible societal prism that cares about future generations. The yachting industry cannot evolve if it does not incorporate the sustainable development concept into all its initiatives,” says YCM General Secretary Bernard d’Alessandri.

Alongside countries like Indonesia, Monaco, France, Greece, Italy, Portugal, United Arab Emirates, Peru and China with the Hainan Institute of Electronics, Canada and India are making their first appearance since the event started. These two nations will be represented by students from the Montreal Polytechnic and Kumaraguru College of Technology.

Organised in partnership with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, with support from Credit Suisse, BMW and SBM Offshore, as well as Dutch shipyard Oceanco, the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge powers creativity and stimulates innovation.

With registrations confirmed for the Solar and Energy classes, it is the turn of non-CE regulated prototypes and hydrogen in the Open Sea Class to finalise their registrations, while CE ratified boats have until 1st July.

The meeting is backed by many supporters including Bertrand Piccard, founder of the Solar Impulse Foundation:

“I’ve been the godfather of this event for several years and have seen how it’s evolved. In the beginning, it was a bit anecdotal, the boats not being that professional, as it was just the start of those pioneers trying to do something with alternative energy sources. Yet now, after nine years, it’s become marketable! Boats are now on the market. It’s clearly a new phase and the message is simple: bravo to you all for what you have accomplished and keep it up for the future”.

Three categories on the start

Sixteen teams from 11 nationalities are competing in the Energy Class for which organisers supply a one design catamaran hull to competitors who must select an energy solution and design an emission-free propulsion system. The one major constraint is the maximum quantity of energy they can use, set at 10kWh for this edition, and they have to design a high-performance cockpit in a sustainable way that optimises the life cycle of all the materials.

The Solar Class which has been in from the start will give free rein to 16 teams and their solar-powered boats. And last but not least, the Open Sea Class, mainly open to exhibitors in the YCM Marina and units already on or about to enter the market, turns the spotlight on boats responding to the United Nations’ “net zero emission” pledges to avoid the most serious effects of climate change and maintain a habitable planet.

Paddocks and exhibitors Village: progress explained and innovations in action

Ashore and at sea a comprehensive programme awaits participants. The event’s unique format combines the varied on-water challenges, sea trials, speed records, endurance & manoeuvrability contests, with a technical expertise component ashore.

The exhibitors Village will be buzzing with a full day conference, a hydrogen round table and daily team Tech Talks open to the public (entry is free), and activity round the stands for startups and new projects in the innovation, sustainability and new energy sources for yachting. The public will even have a chance to discover and test (by appointment from 6-9 July) the electric boats moored on the YCM Marina’s pontoons.

Debates led by experts

As well as the daily Tech Talks in open source, on Thursday 7th July a full-day conference will focus on the ‘Energy Transition in Yachting: Opportunities & Limits’. Some 20 speakers in total are coming to discuss alternative energy R&D progress, carbon-free energy production onboard, and the yachting industry as a field for experimentation (registration required).

Friday 8th July is the date for the 3rd Monaco Hydrogen Working Group Round Table, this year entitled ‘Unlocking hydrogen barriers in the maritime sector: port regulations & economic viability of projects’. Organised in partnership with Monaco’s Energy Transition Mission and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, it’s an opportunity for Monegasque, French and international government players and institutions, together with hydrogen developers, to take stock of progress and discuss regulation of hydrogen projects in the maritime sector (by invitation).

Technology applied on all levels

This week is also a chance to see other new technologies in action, for example the flexible solar fabric (Solar Cloth), recently acquired by YCM as part of its sustainability approach to optimise energy usage linked to nautical events. Placed on a battery pack, the system produces electricity that is fed back into the YCM grid, like that generated by floating solar panels installed in a partnership with gas and electricity company, SMEG. Meanwhile, a pontoon producing green hydrogen from renewable energy sources will be moored in the YCM Marina thanks to SBM Offshore whose SBM E-Racing Team will be refuelling their boat from this facility. Still on hydrogen, EODev will demonstrate the 100kVA electro-hydrogen zero emission GEH2 generator.

A natural laboratory to test new solutions

In the Open Sea Class, TU Delft Hydro Motion Team (Netherlands) is bringing a new monohull hydrofoil prototype equipped with a fuel cell which replaces the modular trimaran they developed for the last two editions. This year there are seven hydrogen projects being presented in Monaco but they are not the only new developments being tested.

Take Hélios, who rode his chariot pulling the sun across the sky every day, the students in the National Technical University of Athens’ research team, Oceanos NTUA, have opted for solar energy in addition to their electric engine. This year they have also developed a bespoke propeller to improve their propulsion system’s efficiency.

They are not alone, as the teams from UNIBOAT (Italy) & Capgemini Engineering (France) and Sea Sakthi (India) are also proposing a customised solution, so it’s a great opportunity to test these variations. While some are adding solar panels to recover as much energy as possible when racing, Hydrovinci (France) is bringing a wind power system to generate energy onboard, a first for the Challenge, and potentially win the endurance event.

The French team from Caiman ENSTA, (Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Techniques Avancées – Paris) are betting on their improved design to reduce drag and improve thrust with a new propeller nozzle. The students have also opted to go for recyclable materials to reduce their ecological footprint.

Job Forum: in the search for young talent

As part of the collective ‘Monaco, Capital of Advanced Yachting’ umbrella to position the Principality as a centre of excellence in this industry, the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge organisers have been running a Job Forum since 2019. It is proving once and for all how the yachting industry generates jobs. Since the first year, around 20 young people have either had an internship or employment at companies in the sector. This year, job offers will be posted on the website at  energyboatchallenge.com  from Wednesday 15th June and on Thursday 7th July, young talents will follow the Job Dating format to meet potential future employers.

Inauguration of the new YCM building

At 43°44’15’’ N and 7°25’40’’ E, this hi-tech building which looks like a liner docked on Quai Louis II is home to two of the Principality’s historic clubs: the Société Nautique (rowing club) and the Yacht Club, a meeting point for owners and focus of international yachting activities. Alongside Lord Foster and Monegasque architect Alexandre Giraldi, Jacques Grange and Nelson Wilmotte have put their talents to the service of the new building’s interior and exterior layout and design.

“ Allow me to express a very sincere wish that the Yacht Club de Monaco fulfil its mission as a link between people who love the sea, that it serves the interests ”

— Prince Rainier III

To be a member of the Yacht Club de Monaco is above all a commitment. It is a desire to preserve a certain ethic, both on land and on the water, and to foster a respect for naval etiquette and preservation of the environment. The Yacht Club de Monaco’s philosophy is based on the need to perpetuate but also to pass on a heritage, inherited from our ancestors, to ensure that the Yacht Club remains a lively and progressive place.

The Yacht Club de Monaco celebrates its 70th anniversary!

salon yacht club monaco

The Yacht Club de Monaco was founded by Prince Rainier III in 1953, and H.S.H. Prince Albert II has been the organisation's President since 1984. The Club is famously associated with the maritime 'art de vivre' and hosts prestigious events that ensure Monaco is at the centre of the sailing world throughout the year.

The 2023 season began in style for younger sailors, with 64 competitors aged under 14 from 16 nations arriving in January for the 13th Monaco Optimist Team Race. The international elite then came together off the Principality for some 120 top level races!

salon yacht club monaco

This winter, one-design racing is dropping anchor in the Principality. The best J/70 crews (a class of regatta yachts, most of which adopted Monaco as their training base to prepare for major races) will be in the waters off the Principality from 2 to 5 February for the Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series, ahead of the Primo Cup-Trophée Crédit Suisse from 2 to 5 March. That event, since its creation in 1985 by H.S.H. Prince Albert II, has established itself as the biggest European one-design elite meeting in the Mediterranean.

Following the course set by the Principality, the Yacht Club de Monaco (YCM) is also committed to sustainable development. Organised from 20 to 26 March by the Albert II Foundation in conjunction with the Oceanographic Museum and the Centre Scientifique de Monaco, Monaco Ocean Week is an important fixture of the Monegasque calendar, a prominent event that aims to raise awareness about the conservation of marine ecosystems. The Yacht Club de Monaco will be contributing to the week's activities  by hosting the 12th Environmental Symposium on the theme "Encouraging the future of more responsible yachting".

The future is a priority for the YCM, as reflected in the hosting of the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, which is now into its 11th year. From 3 to 8 July, this meeting on the theme of alternative energy sources will bring together young engineers and stakeholders from the yachting industry. In its sights will be the first E-Boat Rally, which will offer the public a glimpse at the future of yachting.

salon yacht club monaco

The climax of a busy 2023 will be the famous Monaco Classic Week – La Belle Classe. The charm of yachting will be calling at the Principality from 13 to 16 September, an opportunity to discover the most prestigious vintage sailboats, classic motor yachts. This year's 16th edition of the event will be particularly special, as Monaco marks the centenary of the birth of Prince Rainier III.

The varies and prestigious calendar is worthy of the YCM's "Monaco, Capital of Advanced Yachting" strategy, aimed at positioning the Principality as a leading centre of excellence in this sector!

Yacht Club de Monaco: Flagship events in 2024!

YCM-2024

After commemorating 70 years of the Monaco Yacht Club last year, the celebrations will continue in 2024 with the 10th anniversary of the new Club House, designed by Lord Foster.

The calendar’s schedule is in keeping with the ambition of the “Monaco, Capital of Advanced Yachting” initiative,  launched by the Yacht Club to promote the Principality as a centre of excellence in the field.

14th Monaco Optimist Team Race (10-14 January)

Starting on 10 January, the international elite of Optimist team-racing will be heading to Monaco. 17 nations (United States, Italy, France, United Kingdom, Monaco among them) will be represented by 72 sailors aged under 14.

Organised in match race format, the competition will consist of duels between teams of four. A total of 153 rounds are scheduled to be fought out in Monegasque waters.

16th Economic Symposium (8 February)

The 16th edition of this annual industry event will focus on the French Riviera’s significant economic might in the yachting industry.

Organised in the form of a dinner-debate, the aim of the La Belle Classe Superyachts symposium, which brings together yacht owners and professionals by invitation, is to analyse the yachting sector, explore its developments and gain a better understanding of its challenges and issues.

Primo Cup-Trophée UBS (7-10 March)

The best international J/70 crews will meet again for the continuation of the Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series, Act 3 (8-11 February). Over the last eleven years, this series of monthly regattas has become an unmissable fixture on the winter calendar.

Currently led by the Monegasque crew of Giangiacomo Serena di Lapigio’s G-Spot, the series promises to be hotly contested. To round off the winter season, the J/70s will meet one last time in Act 4 (7-10 March).

USA win 12th Monaco Optimist Team Race

The weekend will coincide with the 40th Primo Cup-Trophée UBS, which will bring together the Smeralda 888s, the Longtze Premiers, the RS 21s, the Cape 31s — not forgetting the Surprises.

March will conclude on an equally sporting note with the second Women Leading and Sailing Trophy (15-17 March), an all-female J/70 event organised in collaboration with the Monegasque and French Sailing Federations.

Monaco Ocean Week (18-22 March)

During Monaco Ocean Week, organised by the Prince Albert II Foundation along with the Monaco Oceanographic Institute and the Centre Scientifique de Monaco, the Yacht Club has been entrusted with the yachting aspect of the week, which is dedicated to protecting the oceans.

On Thursday 21 March, the Y.C.M. will be hosting a series of three events, starting with the 13th Environmental Symposium. Following on from the Monaco Smart & Sustainable Marina Rendezvous, organised in September by M3 (Monaco Marina Management), the Y.C.M. will be hosting the 2nd Monaco Smart Yacht Rendezvous on 21 and 22 March.

Monaco Ocean Week: how can we save our underwater world?

This networking event aims to make the yachting industry more ethical by encouraging exchanges of ideas and introducing innovations for a more sustainable industry. The event will conclude with the presentation of the Smart Innovative Yacht Awards.

Thursday 21 March will conclude with the presentation of the 4th YCM Explorer Awards by La Belle Classe Superyachts. Organised under the presidency of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, this ceremony has been rewarding yacht owners who have distinguished themselves by their commitment to preserving the marine environment, both in the design of their yachts and in their sailing, since 2018.

Superyacht Chef Competition (4 April)

For five years now, superyacht chefs have been meeting at the Y.C.M. to test their skills in the Superyacht Chef Competition, a unique gastronomic contest organised by the Club in collaboration with Bluewater.

The idea is simple: to bring together 9 chefs who work at sea and watch them work their magic in cooking areas inspired by the limited confines of the kitchens on some yachts. “As part of La Belle Classe Academy, the Y.C.M.’s training centre, this event attracts professionals and the general public alike, providing a unique perspective on the different professions in yachting,” says Bernard d’Alessandri, General Secretary of the Y.C.M.

Monaco Energy Boat Challenge (1-6 July)

For over 10 years, the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, a hub for new technologies and alternative energies, has been bringing together young engineers from schools and universities across the world, putting them in touch with key figures in the yachting industry.

In 2023, 46 teams representing 31 universities and 25 nations demonstrated the effectiveness of their shared, open source solutions. This year, SBM Offshore – also an event partner, for the fifth year in a row – will be installing a floating pontoon that will start producing green hydrogen from January on, to supply the participating teams ahead of the event.

Monaco Yacht Club Celebrates its 70th Anniversary with a Summer Cocktail

Yacht Club

Particularly special this year… the summer cocktail, much anticipated, dovetailed with the 70th anniversary celebrations of the Yacht Club , whose birth year is 1953 .

Every occasion at the Yacht Club in 2023 is naturally turning into a double celebration often made extra special by the presence of the Sovereign , who on this occasion was surrounded by about 1500 members .

A perfect time to remember Prince Albert’s father, Rainier III , who was energized to bring together all those who love the sea in a unique Club within the Principality. Prince Albert speaks proudly of his father’s vision to make the YCM an exclusive place where yachting is lived, enjoyed and celebrated, thus contributing to the promotion of Monaco as a global destination . And the tribute to Prince Rainier continues with praise for his acumen in creating the Yacht Club to preserve and pass on maritime traditions, while promoting innovation and the development of yachting.

And, as if standing on Prince Rainier’s shoulders, Prince Albert has placed priority on protecting the oceans first and foremost bringing environmental issues to the fore as a priority. In effect the Principality is a beacon for the nautical industry, acting as a catalyst in environmental transition.

More and more the Monaco Yacht Club members have become demonstrators of new eco-responsible solutions played out through the theme “Monaco, Capital of Advanced Yachting”.

High profile also and a regular reminder of the impetus towards green innovation is the 10th Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, from July 3rd to 8th.

Hundreds of young engineers representing 25 nations and 25 universities are gathering to meet industry professionals. Such key players as Oceanco, Ferretti, Sanlorenzo, Lürssen, Monaco Marine and Palumbo SY Refit take part.

Hardly a quarter goes by when The Yacht Club de Monaco is not able to find an opportunity to continue radiating the message to protect the environment. On September 24th and 25th, YCM is hosting the 3rd Monaco Smart & Sustainable Marina Rendezvous . The specific aim of the event is to present innovative solutions for the development of virtuous marinas.

The YCM plays a powerful role as an ambassador carrying its values high through its high profile record-breaking international exploits of icons such as Malizia-Seaexplorer of Team Malizia , founded by Pierre Casiraghi, vice-president of the Yacht Club of Monaco. Having just finished The Ocean Race, the IMOCA will stop in Monaco on July 5th.

Tuiga , the flagship of the YCM, another ambassador is fresh from a campaign and will play its role in the next Monaco Classic Week-La Belle Classe , from September 13th to 16th.

Thirty new members were able to enjoy this summer members’ cocktail. They can now join in and encourage distinguished athletes like Alexander Ehlen, seeking to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The Sovereign took the opportunity to congratulate Peter Harburg, recent winner of the 70th Rolex Giraglia . The two gold medals obtained at the Games of the Small States by the laserist Noah Garcia and by Boris Jeremenko, head valet of the YCM also received praise.

Ocean View Monaco - On board wellness & spa center | MSC Yacht Club Massage Rooms | Balinese Spa | Thalassotherapy History

Ocean view monaco made its first steps in the world of beauty back in the 70s with high end and luxurious offshore hair salons..

After having spent long periods of time in Bali, we acquired consolidated know-how and practise in the Bali culture of well-being to sail into the adventure of opening a wellness centre (spa) onboard of one ship. It was 1995: several offshore hair and beauty salons to manage and one wellness centre onboard of a ship to play with and to discover. Almost 20 years later, what started as an adventure and curiosity, became our passion and core business: Ocean View Monaco grew into a spa management company with wellness centres onboard of all MSC Cruises’ ships.

Throughout the years, we supported and shared our partner’s achievements of new ship christenings, as those were new Ocean View Monaco spa christenings as well:

  • April 2003, MSC LIRICA
  • May 2004, MSC ARMONIA
  • 2004, MSC SINFONIA
  • June 2004, MSC OPERA
  • June 2006, MSC MUSICA
  • May 2007, MSC ORCHESTRA
  • April 2008, MSC POESIA

Starting from 2008, a new ship did not only mean a new Ocean View Monaco spa, but also an enrichment of Ocean View Monaco’s already exhaustive wellness and beauty menu with the introduction of brand new and innovative signature treatments:

  • December 2008, MSC FANTASIA – Candle massage
  • July 2009, MSC SPLENDIDA – Aurea del Mare
  • March 2010, MSC MAGNIFICA – Aurea Thalassa, Aurea Papaveris, Aurea Hydra Plus, Aurea Relaxa, Hymalayan Dream, semi-permanent eyelash lengthening and thickening treatments
  • May 2012, MSC DIVINA –Shu Uemura hair ceremonies, two new exclusive well-being beds enhance the effects of Himalayan Dream and Aurea del Mare (Himalaya Venus crystal salt and a water bed), Teenage Kicks programs and the first Ocean View Monaco vintage barber shop
  • March 2013, MSC PREZIOSA – Harmony Suite Rituals, Enjoy the Colour Program (at the spa bar), Adidas gear corner shop, redesign of the traditional thermal area to include an exclusive frigidarium and tepidarium

Lately, MSC Cruises revealed his plans to add 11 new vessels by 2026 as a near doubling of its fleet numbers. It’s also increasing capacity with larger ships, for which Ocean View Monaco manages the Spas :

  • May 2017, MSC MERAVIGLIA - the cutting-edge ship includes a promenade with a long LED roof, a water park with water slides, a rope course, a theater and a spa of over 1100 m² offering the latest wellness experiences. For the first time, MSC Cruises will launch a new thermal experience on board MSC Meraviglia. Guests will be able to tailor their experience by identifying their wellness objective : RELAX, TONIC, PURIFY or EXCITE. They will enjoy a sequence of heat, cold, colours and aromas with a combination of equipment to maximise the thermal programmes. The body is exposed to high temperatures and contrasting cold areas with aromatic showers. Guests will wear a wristband with information about their chosen experience and the length and order of use for each area. The variety of the equipment will provide a perfect synthesis of leading-edge technology, inimitable design and carefully-selected materials.
  • November 2017,  MSC SEASIDE  - Inspired by the beach condos that have made Miami famous, MSC Seaside has a number of distinctive and innovative design features unlike any other ship. MSC Cruises and Bocelli Wines have launched a signature collection of spa treatments on MSC Seaside, luxurious facial and body treatments using LAJATICA vinotherapy products from Bocelli Wines. Strengthened by the anti-aging and firming properties found in grapes, these luxurious facial and body treatments are made with natural extracts from the Bocelli family vineyards and blended with Tuscan plants and essential oils.
  • June 2018, MSC SEAVIEW - the second in the Seaside generation will bring guests and the sea closer with a 360° waterfront promenade to enjoy the sun. The MSC Aurea Spa on MSC Seaview is a luxurious Balinese spa offering signature relaxation treatments to revitalise body and soul. Complete with a thermal area, beauty salon and nail boutique, the MSC Aurea Spa will leave you feeling pampered from head to toe. Ocean View Monaco has introduced with MSC SEAVIEW the exclusive signature treatments from THALGO, leader in Professional Marine Cosmetic, especially designed for MSC Cruises.

Monaco Superyacht Chef Competition

The 2023 Monaco Superyacht Chef Competition

Minimal Logo

The Monaco 2023 Superyacht Chef Competition is back, registrations are now open!

Organised by Yacht Club de Monaco partnered with Bluewater, the Superyacht Chef Competition returns for a fourth year on Thursday, 30 March 2023.

Who are they, these extraordinary cooks who choose to be a chef on a superyacht, a job which is far from being the most straightforward? You must be available and at service 24 hours a day and know how to prepare Michelin-star food in small spaces. You have to be organised to be at sea in any conditions for several days or possibly weeks on end and be able to meet even the most extravagant requests. This is why it is excellent that Monaco gives the talented superyacht chefs a stage to show off their incredible talent and expertise.

Held under the aegis of YCM’s La Belle Classe Academy training centre, the culinary par excellence competition aims to spotlight gourmet cuisine at sea as another facet of yachting professions. New criteria for 2023 are set to spice up the contest.

“This event is very much in line with our ambition to position Monaco as a centre of excellence in the Luxury Yacht sector, especially the professions involved, while respecting values of the Monaco, Capital of Advanced Yachting approach,” says Yacht Club de Monaco General Secretary Bernard d’Alessandri .

Who will chair the Jury of experts in 2023?

chef Yannick Alléno,-2

Well, He is two-time three Michelin star chef Yannick Alléno , considered by many to be one of the world’s greatest chefs, with a strong focus on French cuisine and its heritage. He is also globally recognised for masterminding Modern Cuisine, a movement he initiated in 2013.

The 4th Superyacht Chef Competition vintage looks set to surprise eyes and tastebuds again. Supervised by Joël Garault, President of Goûts et Saveurs, some of the professionals coming to judge the dishes include Superyacht Chef Nicolas Petit (M/Y Latitude), winner of the Superyacht Chef Competition in 2022, Chef Benoît Nicolas, ‘Meilleur Ouvrier de France’ 2015 in the gastronomic cuisine category, and Chef Cristina Bowerman, traditional Italian cuisine specialist influenced by her many experiences abroad.

This year again, for the second time running, the nine superyacht chefs have to comply with anti-waste criteria requiring contestants to use every single ingredient in the mystery basket because cooking conditions of a Superyacht are not in any way like cooking in a large commercial kitchen they can count only on specific equipment (in particular without gas), on a small surface, in a short time and with a limited number of foodstuffs. Because on the open sea, there is no question of going shopping at the last minute. It is, therefore, necessary to be creative to develop a recipe with specific products, and the candidates are evaluated precisely on this point. Or receive a penalty applied following an external scoring grid.

British Chef Duncan Biggs , who officiates on superyachts , will be in charge of this aspect of the competition.

chef Monaco (1)-2

The Mystery basket and what’s new for 2023?

Flexibility will be critical for the nine chefs who find out what’s in the mystery basket just before they get behind their stoves. This year the superyacht chefs will be given five minutes of reflection before creating a dish. During this time, the public can decide to add a missing ingredient to the basket and vote for the plate with the best presentation. The contest comprises three 45-minute heats from which the three Supersyacht finalists will emerge. The three chefs then battle it out to create a main dish and dessert to determine the winner.

Reserved exclusively for YCM owner member yachts, the contest is an opportunity for owners and all those passionate about gastronomy to watch chefs at their workstations which mimic the reduced galley space on some super yachts. All eyes will be riveted on this ingenuity battle, showcasing their culinary skills and expertise in the kitchen.

Will these chefs have the right recipe to keep the public spellbound?

All the ingredients are there for an event that more than lives up to the expectations and image of the Monaco Capital of Advanced Yachting approach.

Seadventures courses

Sailing during the school holidays.

Learn! Improve! Have Fun!

In, on and under the water , that’s the slogan for the courses organised during school holidays by the Yacht Club de Monaco’s Sports Section.

Open to 6-17 year-olds, these week-long camps are a great way for children to discover the joys of watersports like sailing, snorkelling, paddleboarding, kayaking and outings into the bay in a RIB. They also get to learn about and appreciate the marine environment with a visit to the Oceanographic Museum, coastal walks and sessions with the Maritime Police on values and rules to respect at sea. It is open to children of Club members or those attending school in the Principality, who are divided into three groups: Moussaillons (6-7 year-olds), Matelots (8-11 year-olds) and Marins (12 year-olds and up). The youngest will be sailing on Bugs, in pairs for the Moussaillons, solo for the Matelots, while the older ones, the Marins, will be racing on Toppers. It’s not just about learning how to sail, but is an education in the sea and all it has to offer through a range of fun activities, depending on weather conditions, from 9.30am to 4.30pm.

Lunch is provided by the Club every day of the camp and participants will be advised on what to wear.
