Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3: next episode, trailer, cast and everything we know

Bravo’s Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 is underway and the only thing calm may be the water.

Chef Marcos cooking on Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 is here, and Captain Glenn Shephard is back to balancing the demands of vacationers with the drama of his crew. And let’s face it, in most instances, the baggage of his crew far outweighs the luggage of any guest.

This season takes the show to the waters surrounding Menorca, Spain. The breathtaking views only serve as momentary interruptions to the hookups, the confrontations, the injuries and the occasional emergencies of the new season. Given the interesting dynamic that already exists between returning crew members like Daisy Kelliher and Gary King, the addition of a new chef, new stews and new deckhands make sailing anything but smooth aboard the Parsifal III.

Here’s what we know about Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3.

When is the next Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 episode?

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 premiered on Monday, February 21. New episodes continue to air on Mondays at 8 pm ET/PT on Bravo TV in the US. Episodes are available the next day in the UK on Hayu , which can be included as part of a Prime Video subscription. Additionally, Peacock via Sky TV or NOW TV also offers next-day streaming for Bravo content.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is back with the first part of the season 3 reunion airing on Monday, June 27, at 8 pm ET/PT on Bravo. After a tumultuous season full of drama and love triangles, it will be interesting to see what the cast has to say to one another when they face off.

By the way, have you read why fans are grossed out by Ashely's grilled cheese feast ?

What happens on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3?

Viewers of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2 will recall that the last time the crew was together, first mate Gary King was involved in a messy love triangle with deckhand Sydney Zaruba and stew Alli Dore. While fans of the show won’t have to worry about seeing King in a continuation of that love saga, based on the trailer, King will again find himself entangled in a romance. It appears he entangles with chief stew Daisy Kelliher of all people. While the two appeared to make amends at last year’s reunion after feuding all season 2, no one expected the two to be locking lips.

Additionally, it should be noted that Below Deck Sailing Yacht is done with love triangles, as Bravo TV teases this season fans can expect to see a “twisted love pentagon.” More may not turn out to be merrier in this case.

Fans of the show will also remember that Captain Glenn Shephard and his crew were involved in an accident during season 2 . Season 3 shows how Captain Shephard has been able to bounce back from the incident while also trying to avoid another potentially disastrous event.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 cast

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 includes returning crew Captain Glenn Shephard, chief stew Daisy Kelliher, chief engineer Colin MacRae and first mate Gary King. These members are joined by chef Marcos Spaziani, second stew Gabriela Barragan, third stew Ashley Marti, as well as deckhands Kelsie Goglia and Tom Pearson.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 looks like it’s not light on the conflict or surprised hookups.

For those needing more details about that kiss between Gary and Daisy, hear from Daisy herself as she provides a little more insight on their involvement.

How to watch Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3

New episodes of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 air live on Mondays in the US. With a subscription, episodes can also be streamed live via Fubo TV , Hulu with Live TV , Sling TV and YouTube TV . Additionally, Peacock provides next-day streaming for its subscribers. In order to access episodes, would-be viewers will have to subscribe to Peacock Premium , which offers either a $4.99 ad-supported or $9.99 ad-free plan.

Viewers in the UK can watch episodes the day after they air using Hayu .

Who's leaving Below Deck Sailing Yacht?

It looks like everyone's favorite Below Deck chef is calling it quits. Marcos Spaziani recently took to Twitter to announce that he has no plans on returning for another season.

I want to thank everyone for the big support and great comments. I never thought in my life I would bring so much inspiration to so many ppl and for that I’m very grateful and also blessed! But I can’t go back to the next season. #BelowDeckSailingYacht #belowdecksailing pic.twitter.com/CLTmtLV7yP June 1, 2022

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3 Episode 7

Ep 7. Strip for the Tip

  • April 4, 2022
  •   (27)

The show Below Deck Sailing Yacht follows the crew of a luxury sailing yacht as they work to cater to the needs and desires of their guests while also navigating their own interpersonal relationships and challenges. In season 3 episode 7, titled "Strip for the Tip," tensions continue to run high on the yacht as the crew deals with ongoing drama and conflicts within their ranks.

As the episode begins, tensions are high between the yacht's chef, Natasha, and the rest of the crew. Despite her talent in the kitchen, Natasha has been struggling to find common ground with her teammates, and her sharp tongue and demanding attitude have rubbed many of them the wrong way. This tension is only exacerbated by the arrival of a new charter guest, whose high expectations and demanding nature put even more pressure on the already-stretched crew.

Over the course of the episode, the crew members are tasked with a variety of challenges and tasks, from preparing a gourmet dinner for the charter guests to managing the yacht's complex systems and equipment. As they navigate these challenges, they must also navigate their own personal relationships and conflicts, with several crew members struggling to manage their emotions and handle the stress of the demanding job.

One of the episode's key moments comes when the charter guests request a unique form of entertainment in exchange for a generous tip: a strip poker game. While some crew members are hesitant to participate, others see it as an opportunity to earn extra money and let off some steam after a stressful charter. Ultimately, the game proves to be both entertaining and lucrative, with several crew members showing off their skills and earning big tips from the guests.

As the episode draws to a close, tensions continue to simmer on the yacht. The crew must navigate their own interpersonal conflicts and challenges while also striving to meet the high expectations of their guests. And as they work to stay afloat and keep the yacht running smoothly, they must also manage their own personal lives and struggles. "Strip for the Tip" is a dramatic and engaging episode that showcases the ups and downs of life on a luxury sailing yacht.

'Below Deck' Exclusive Clip: Barbie Pascual Refuses To Change Her Signature Margarita Recipe For Fraser Olender

'below deck' chief stew fraser olender has a "love interest" of his own this season: "i've always been a third wheel", former 'below deck' charter guests hit choppy waters as they are charged with identity theft in prescription drug scheme, alex propson on whether or not casual sex can exist in 'winter house': "it's difficult, but i don't think it's impossible".

All aboard!  Below Deck Sailing Yacht   is about to set sail with a brand new crew of sprightly yacht pros. This season, the hit Bravo reality series will coast through the clear waters of Menorca, Spain, debuting with a supersized premiere episode in just under a month. Beginning in February, you’ll be getting new episodes of  Below Deck Sailing Yacht  weekly.

Captain Glenn Shephard is back aboard Parsifal III in Season 3 of the series. Alongside him is returning chief stew Daisy Kelliher , chief engineer Colin MacRae, and first mate Gary King. We’ll also be introduced to some new faces, so get ready to meet chef Marcos Spaziani, second stew Gabriela Barragan, third stew Ashley Marti, and deckhands Kelsie Goglia and Tom Pearson.

This season, Bravo has teased that Daisy and Gary will leave their arguments behind them as they “bring their relationship into uncharted waters.” Further, as Daisy attempts to keep her stations clean, her team begins to threaten the hierarchy of the boat as resentments grow between the stews. Chef Marcos isn’t used to cooking at sea, and while he attempts to maintain the same standard of excellence he knows on land, everything seems to be falling out of his hands.

“ With a twisted love pentagon, a litany of gruesome injuries and a dangerous, potentially vessel-crippling accident that threatens the safety of everyone on board, this is  Parsifal III ’s most epic charter season yet,” Bravo writes.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is produced by 51 Minds with Mark Cronin, Courtland Cox, Vivian Kohon, Tania Hamidi, Christian Sarabia and Zachary Klein serving as executive producers.

The first two seasons of  Below Deck Sailing Yacht  are now streaming on Peacock. Scroll up to watch the first trailer for  Below Deck Sailing Yacht  Season 3, which will premiere on Bravo on Feb. 21 at 8 p.m. ET.

Below Deck Recap: The Purge

below deck sailing yacht season 3 episode 7

Jared is not unlike a Gremlin. Feed him alcohol after midnight, and you’re in for a very, very bad time. He continues to berate Kyle, ostensibly for spilling tobacco on the deck. It’s definitely not because he’s jealous of the time he’s spending with Jared’s possible one true love, Barbie; why would you think that? How dare you? He even manages to wake up the captain, not once but twice ,  which, considering the unforgiving schedules these people keep, is basically an act of violence.

Barbie and Kyle (his job is boat) finally get to watch their movie, snuggled up together in her bunk. “You’re a beautiful girl; love your work,” he tells her when he leaves in the morning, which is all I ever want to hear from anyone in any context. Meanwhile, Ben and Sunny have sex in the shower, or so some moan-y, frankly none-of-my-business audio over a shot of the closed bathroom door wants us to believe.

The next morning, our bosun appears to be even more of a mess than usual. Jared is like Pig-Pen, except instead of dust he’s followed by a constant cloud of frustration and confusion. Captain Kerry, P.I., tries to piece together the events of the previous night through separate conversations with Kyle and Barbie, edited together like a little baby  Rashomon.  Cinéma!

Finally, it’s time for Jared to get acquainted with the consequences of his actions. There is no front on which Jared has not fucked up at work: basic logistics, safety, inappropriate interpersonal conflict. This kind of behavior from someone in a leadership role is unacceptable, Kerry tells him. “Okay,” Jared responds. “Um.” Not that there was anything he could have said to vindicate himself by this point, anyway: He’s fired. I think Kerry, who’s been both patient and abundantly clear about his expectations with Jared, handled this as best he could. To keep Jared on the boat would be a “disservice” to him. Everyone gathers to wish Jared a friendly farewell — Barbie hugs him good-bye and tells him to go meet his daughter.

White smoke emerges from the bridge, in accordance with ancient tradition: A new bosun is chosen. Ben, formerly lead deckhand, has evolved into his final form, and he seems awfully happy about it.

The interior isn’t without its own personnel problems. Cat can’t properly fluff a   pillow; her surfaces are unwiped; her sheets are half-heartedly ironed. She is the Amelia Bedelia of the high seas, without ever producing an all-redeeming lemon meringue pie to save the day. On the one hand, she does a bad job, but on the other, she also does it very slowly.

A friend of Cat’s calls her, crying and freaking out, and Cat takes the phone into the bathroom to continue the conversation privately. She doesn’t share anything about the situation, but it’s obvious that this has significantly worsened her already tenuous emotional state. Miscellaneous family revelations: Barbie’s mom is a sex therapist whose job sounds like it involves more sex dolls than I necessarily would have expected. Fraser’s sister is currently flashing her “huge knockers” at Mardi Gras, as is her right. Fraser sweetly sings Anthony’s praises in French to his mother on a video call.

To Captain Kerry’s credit, he’s pitching in to help bridge the gaps while they’re understaffed, busting his ass carrying chairs around like a man of the people when their new charter begins. Loading up their provisions takes even longer than usual — Ben points out that, as always, there are so, so many eggs. Why  are  there so many eggs? Is  Below   Deck  a convenient international waters cover for a money-laundering scheme or illegal chicken-breeding operation?

Primary guest Lesley is beautiful, make no mistake, but I would be failing you if I did not mention her hairstyle: sunburned fourth grader on a Caribbean vacation braids at the temples with a Drybar Southern Comfort-style blowout taking up the rear. (Business in the back, party on the sides?) A mortgage professional, she is so enthusiastic about what a great time it is to buy a house  right   now  that I am prepared for her to start staring into the camera to pitch us viewers directly.

Ben’s reign is off to a good start. Even though the exterior is down a member, undocking   somehow manages to go much more smoothly in Jared’s absence. Sunny, who has apparently already dated a boss of hers in the past, is just happy she gets to drive the tender around. Kyle blows up an inflatable that sounds like a screaming fart. The guests ride Jet Skis while, back on board, Cat drops various things onto the floor.

For their first dinner, the guests request surf and turf — no French food, please. (“Oh. Okay,” Anthony says.) Barbie obliges their request for a Mardi Gras theme by climbing onto the table to scatter some masks, beads, and a few meekly flashing lights around. She hates it. The guests, however, love it. (So far, the worst thing about them might be that some of them call Fraser “Fletcher” or, possibly annoying him even more, “Frazier,” with an extra vowel sound jammed in there.)

The next morning, Cat fully loses her composure when Xandi (gently) confronts her about misplacing the cleaning caddy and failing to answer her radio. “I’m fucking done, dude,” she tearfully tells Barbie, otherwise occupied with eating an apple. “I’m over this shit.” Does she want to talk about it? No? Well, okay. Barbie resumes snacking.   Cat flees to her cabin. She sobs behind the closed door of her bathroom for the third time in this episode of a liminal place of secrets and intense emotion. I repeat: Cinéma!

Fraser comes to see her and suggests it’s time to put her mental health first. Weeping in his arms, she agrees. And so her tenure on the St. David ends not with a bang but a (literal) whimper. In many ways I am very sympathetic, as someone whose own brain occasionally requires me to disconnect and reconnect the battery a few times until the mysterious Check Engine light switches off. I’m also glad, for all our sakes, that she decided to leave. She cries in her post-mortem confessional. She cries as she steps off the boat. She cries as she boards the water taxi. Sometimes, on a clear night, they say you can still hear her sniffles carried on the ocean breeze.

Oh, Cat, we hardly knew ye. I wish you well and I hope you’re doing better. “That’s the way it goes,” says Ben in what passes for a professional eulogy. “That’s yachting, mate.” Forget it, Jake. It’s  Below Deck .

Hopefully the staffing service is running a BOGO special this week. With two crew members gone, the St. David is operating on double hard mode. But at least for now, the guests are happy, mainlining approximately three dozen eggs each —  plus  they got to witness and gossip extensively about a crew member mysteriously departing the vessel, which would be the highlight of my vacation.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3 Episode 3 Review: 'Omelette You Finish"

It's the 3rd episode of the third season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, and crew members are already butting heads...

It's the 3rd episode of the third season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, and tensions are already running high. With just 29 hours until charter, Ashley and Tom have just butted heads over Ashley's ageist comments against Tom.

While crew mates Gary and Kelsie tell the pair they just need to kiss and makeup, Ashley and Tom are still reeling from their argument and their hangovers.

Tom And Ashley Clear The Air

Tom seeks Gary's advice, hoping he'll have some insight as to how to approach the situation with Ashley. Ashley vents to Marcos who believes that their squabbles will eventually come to a head, noting a past yachting experience where he got caught sleeping with the entire female crew.

Hoping to clear the air, Tom apologizes to Ashley, saying her ageist comments rub him the wrong way. Ashley tells Tom that her defensiveness came from wanting to stand by her opinion. While it doesn't seem the dust has settled just yet, the two hug and make up.

The Crew Prepares For Their Second Charter

With just 20 hours until charter, Glenn convenes with Gary, Daisy, and Marcos to discuss the incoming guests. As fact sheets are handed out, Daisy's head hangs low with a groan as she recognizes the familiar Erica Rose and her mother, Cindi, a duo that had proved menacing during last year's season . While Daisy is apprehensive about hosting Erica once more, she hopes that the new grouping of friends and the inclusion of Erica's husband will mellow Erica out.

Daisy Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3

After offering a checklist of tasks to Ashley, Gabriela is dismayed to find that Ashley has yet to complete her chores, leaving Gabriela to pick up the slack. She finds Ashley in the mess with Daisy and confronts her about having shirked her duties . A frustrated Daisy tells the girls she doesn't want to hear it, and hopes they'll reconcile their differences.

Gabriela pulls Gary aside and explains the situation. He tells her that when there's tension between two people on the yacht, it's felt throughout the crew, and that she should apologize. So, Gabriela pulls Ashley for a chat, explaining that she didn't want Ashley's poor performance - or lack thereof - to bode poorly on her. Concerned only with herself, Ashley half-heartedly accepts the apology, saying Gabriela's reaction was uncalled for, and diminishing the titles of second and third stew, dubbing them "obsolete."

Ashley and Gabriela Making Amends Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3

Over with the deckhands, Tom struggles to adhere to the rules set by Glenn, Colin, and Gary, misleading an eager Kelsie in her cleaning duties. He then proceeds to scratch the paint of the transom door, once again disobeying Colin's orders that he take the pins out prior to opening the door. Taking note of Tom's attitude, Colin opens up a dialogue with Tom, and the two agree that Tom will have to make some adjustments moving forward in order to ensure complete success.

The Second Charter Guests Arrive

It's 6 hours to charter, and Glenn pulls Daisy aside, revealing he's just received a text that guests Erica, her husband Charles (Chuck), and her mother Cindi were removed from their flight due to a discrepancy with the flight crew. As such, Cindi missed her connecting flight and will be arriving later than anticipated. Unphased as she anticipated this type of behavior, Daisy welcomes the guests, anxious for what's to come.

Erica Rose Charter Guest Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3

After providing a tour of the yacht and settling the guests into their rooms, Daisy lays out Marcos' intended dinner menu to the guests. Clearly ecstatic for what Marcos has in store, especially the suggested watermelon gazpacho, Chuck says, "sounds like we're just eating a bunch of crap." Daisy returns the feedback to Marcos who is then bombarded by Erica and her friends who want to make sure their dinner will consist only of foods they've selected. Settling on salad, vegetables, and steak, Erica tells Marcos she doesn't like any pink in her steak.

The Guests Start To Get Picky

At dinner, the guests are extremely pleased, save for late arrival, Cindi, who says her steak wasn't good. Noticing her steak is less than well done, Erica sends her steak back to Marcos who vows never to disobey a guest's food orders again. Leaving the table satisfied and smiling, Chuck remarks that the meal was in the "top 5" of his life. Prior to the guests heading to bed, Daisy confirms with Erica that brunch will be the following day at 11 AM, and that neither breakfast nor lunch need to be served.

Charter Guests Chuck and Erica Rose Ridiculing Marcos' Omelette Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3

The following morning, a cranky and hungover Chuck asks why he's not being greeted with a breakfast . Though Marcos had not prepared breakfast per Erica's instructions, he makes a bacon, onion, and cheese omelette to satiate Chuck. Examining the omelette, Chuck is upset to find tomatoes in his omelette, requesting that Daisy ask Marcos to make another omelette per his specifications. Without complaint, Marcos makes Chuck his desired omelette which Chuck and Cindi decide is "disgusting" and "putrid." "I've gotten better food at the ballpark," Chuck says.

Episode Verdict

It's almost comical that Ashley and Tom are at each other's throats the most, tiffing about their respective maturities. In reality, it seems the two have more than enough growing up to do, pouting upon receiving instructions and showing visible agitation toward their superiors.

Speaking of growing up, charter guests Chuck and Cindi have a thing or two to learn about manners. Surely a world-famous chef such as Marcos knows how to make an omelette - in his defense, we think it looked delectable. Maybe you should stick to ballpark food, Chuck. Suffice it to say, the crew of this season's yacht have their work cut out for them.

Below Deck Season 11, Episode 7 Recap: Crew Minus Two

Below Deck Season 11, Episode 7 recap

Welcome back to  Below Deck  Season 11, Episode 7. In this week’s episode, titled “Cat’s Out of the Bag,” Jared pays the price for being drunkenly obnoxious and waking the captain twice in one night. Ben gets a big promotion, and Cat hits such a low point that both Captain Kerry and Fraser are afraid for her mental health. Here are some highlights from Below Deck Season 11, Episode 7.

Cap’s got no tolerance for bad behavior

Below Deck Season 11, Episode 7

Last week, Jared made so much noise after his drunken night out that he woke the captain. Uh oh, you know you’re in trouble when you wake up Dad.

“What’s going in here?” Kerry asks. “I can hear you two decks up. I’m up there trying to sleep.”

“Really?” Jared asks blankly. Um, the fact that he’s standing in front of you right now means it’s true, Jared.

“Pack this up,” the Captain says. “Hit the sack, please.” It’s the second time tonight he’s been woken up, and he’s not happy. The yelling and screaming are “unacceptable on my boat.”

The next morning, Jared is remorseful. “Thinking about last night,” he confesses, “I’m not feeling like I handled it all too well. Lot of things on my mind, lot of things stressing me out … but it doesn’t excuse how messy things were. I could have handled it better, for sure.”

In the kitchen, Kyle and Ben are chatting about last night. “I heard you come down,” Ben says, “and Jared was yelling at you.”

“I wasn’t unaware of the fact that I had made a mess,” Kyle explains about spilling pipe tobacco on the deck. “Before I even had the opportunity to try and tidy it up, he was on my ass.”

“F*cking weirdo,” Ben sighs.

A minute later, Captain Kerry radios for Kyle to come to the bridge. Uh oh. Here we go. Jared knows he’s next.

“There was a lot going on last night that I didn’t see,” Kerry interviews. “What I did see was two guys talking loudly in the crew mess. To me, it seemed like Kyle was trying to de-escalate the situation. Jared has a history of getting drunk. I understand he’s going through sh*t, but I don’t have time for it.”

Captain’s inquisition

Below Deck Season 11, Episode 7 recap

When Kyle arrives on the bridge, Kerry tells him, “I need you to be honest with me and not hold anything back. I want to know the facts of the evening. What happened?”

“So Jared … I’d left a mess upstairs, right,” Kyle explains. “But we were all drinking. Give me a chance to get up in the morning and correct my wrong.”

Next up is Barbie, who says, “My roomie … whatever … left my room, so Kyle was just, ‘F*ck it, I’ll just bunk with you.’ Me and Kyle are super good friends, so I had no problem at all with it.”

Back to Kyle, who says, “Jared then … stormed into Barbie’s room.”

“He didn’t knock,” Barbie says.

“At any point, did you feel threatened?” Cap asks Barbie.

“It wasn’t directed towards me, so I didn’t feel threatened,” she says.

“Was there threatening behavior directed toward you?” the captain asks Kyle.

“Slightly,” Kyle responds. “More of an angry, demeaning manner. He was angrier than what he needed to be.”

“Was he pounding drinks last night?” Kerry asks.

“Alcohol was involved,” Barbie says.

“We all had a fair bit to drink,” Kyle admits. “I’m not throwing anybody under the bus.”

“I think it was more like a personal thing, you know what I mean?” Barbie observes. “He was mad that Kyle was in my room.” Hmm, I hadn’t thought of that angle. Could be true.

Jared’s not in the right head space

Below Deck Season 11, Episode 7

“I’m quickly running out of options with Jared,” Kerry says in a confessional. “He’s made quite a few f*ck-ups … He’s made several mistakes in docking. And the alcohol doesn’t help at all … My primary responsibility is the safety of the vessel and the crew, and this guy is really creating a problem for me.”

Finally, it’s Jared’s turn. “[Last night] I had a discussion with you and the rest of the crew about having a great night but not getting absolutely f*cking hammered,” Cap says. “This is the second time you’ve gone on the piss [and] you’ve had bad behavior. You’re in a leadership role. You can’t be acting like that … it’s not acceptable.”

“I’ve tried to guide you,” Kerry continues. “I’ve shown compassion. But you’ve got sh*t going on, mate. You’re your own worst enemy right now. You need to depart the vessel.”

“I’m gettin’ the boot?” Jared asks, shocked.

“Yes,” the captain says. “You’ve got a lot going for you. You work hard, but your head’s not there, mate.”

“This ain’t the right place for me [right now],” Jared admits.

“Exactly,” agrees the captain. “And I don’t blame you for that. Take this time and work on yourself. Me keeping you here is a disservice to you.”

“Okay, I respect that,” Jared concedes.

“Pack up your cabin and say goodbye to your crewmates,” Kerry tells him. And they part with a handshake.

“I know sending him home is not gonna be easy for the rest of the crew in the short term,” Kerry confesses. “But long term, this is the right decision. When someone’s distressed, or they’re acting out in a way that’s not fair to their crewmates … or not safe, they’ve gotta go.”

Ben gets a promotion

Below Deck Season 11, Episode 7 recap

Captain Kerry calls Ben to the bridge. “What’s going on?” he asks, sitting down.

“A couple of things,” Kerry says. “Jared’s leaving, and we’re gonna be down a crew member … If I leave this dock with a person down, can you handle … being the bosun on the boat?”

“Hundred percent,” Ben says. “I can do it, Cap.”

“Ben’s a natural choice,” Cap interviews. “Ben knows the boat, he knows what needs to happen … but now he’s gotta lead. He’s gotta make decisions that he may not agree with ‘cause I’ve said so.”

“Damn right, I’ll accept the position of bosun,” Ben says in a confessional. “Finally, I’m able to show Kerry what I can do. I know I can do this job. Let’s go.”

The captain reminds him that he’s in management now, and his interactions with his crew need to change. “The division of friends and leader … needs to be a clear line,” he says.

But this means you’ll have to stop fooling around with Sunny, Ben. She works for you, and it’s not appropriate.

As he’s packing, Jared confesses, “I thought I was in a good head space coming into this. I’m really not. As much as I would like to be, I’m just lying to myself. Although the situation sucks, I actually do feel a little bit lighter.”

Once Jared is gone, Captain Kerry gathers the crew in the Sky Lounge for a meeting. Since the deck team’s down a person, Cap says he’ll be helping out even more than he does now. While I appreciate the closed captioning this show usually provides for Kyle, I actually have more difficulty with Kerry’s accent. He kind of mumbles and runs his words together. I love Kerry, but damn, he’s hard to understand sometimes.

Cat melts down

Below Deck Season 11, Episode 7

Cat gets a hysterical phone call from her friend Megan. Cat removes her mic pack and takes the phone into the bathroom for privacy.

“So I got a call from my friend Megan,” Cat interviews. “My friends are my family. So, it feels really sh*tty not being able to be there for her.” Cat is so upset that she goes to bed crying and is still wiping away tears the next morning.

Barbie’s in the crew mess when Cat walks in and says, “I’m f*cking done, dude. I’m over this sh*t.”

“Do you want to talk?” Barbie asks.

“No,” Cat runs sobbing back to her cabin.

Barbie asks Fraser, “Is Cat okay? She’s crying again.”

“Again?” Fraser says. “Something’s really wrong with her. I’m worried.” He goes to check on her. When she doesn’t respond to his knock, he opens the door gently. “Are you okay, my love?”

“No, this is not good,” she sobs. “I really wanna push through for you guys, [but] I’m just losing my mind right now.”

“I’d rather you put your … mental health [first], and we get you the help you need,” Fraser says. “Is that something you’d like me to arrange for you?”

“I feel like I might need to do that,” she admits. “I’m really sorry.”

“Don’t be sorry, you’re fine,” he says, hugging her.

“I don’t know what’s going on,” Fraser says in a confessional. “But you can look into someone’s eyes sometimes and see that there is no more that they can give … I need to do what’s right for her.”

To Cat, he says, “You’ve been amazing. Listen, if you just get all your stuff together, we’re gonna make this happen, all right?”

Captain Kerry makes the right call

Below Deck Season 11, Episode 7 recap

Fraser’s next stop is Captain Kerry. “I don’t think Cat can make it to the end of this trip,” he says. “She’s in tears. She doesn’t want to disclose any information, [but] I asked her, was it something you need to deal with immediately, and the answer was yes.”

“All right,” Kerry responds. “Thanks for bringing that to my attention. That worries me.”

“Same,” Fraser agrees.

“I’m really worried about Cat’s mental state right now,” Kerry interviews. “For him to come to me and say, ‘She’s ready to go,’ she’s gotta go.”

“It could be something horrific, or it could just be something not,” Fraser continues. “We need to give her the benefit of the doubt.”

“Well, to her, it’s horrific,” Kerry says. “My focus is what it’s doing to her.”

When Fraser leaves, Kerry calls a water taxi, saying he has a crew member who “needs to get off the vessel.” Then he tells Ben to drop anchor so they can get someone off the boat.

Captain knocks on Cat’s door and asks if she needs a hand. “Maybe with the suitcase,” she says, apologizing again. So he carries her suitcase, something I’ve never seen any other captain do. Sweet.

“My number one job is to take care of my crew and their health,” Kerry interviews. “She’s gotta go.”

Full circus mode

Below Deck Season 11, Episode 7

Captain radios the crew to the aft deck to say goodbye while the guests are confused about what’s going on.

“I wish I could have stayed,” Cat interviews, with a smile on her face, obviously already happier. “But the thing is, like, there’s no way that I could have … I need to be with the people that need me … I need to protect my own mental health. My support system’s at home, not here.”

Back on the boat, Kerry is stressing. “Being one person down was going to be hard for us,” he says in a confessional. “Two people down? [deep, heavy sigh] I’ve been in tough situations before, but this is one of the toughest. Regardless of her personal issues, the guests deserve seven-star service. So, am I concerned? Yes, I am. We could all be in trouble.”

“We’re a stew down and a deck crew down,” Ben observes. “[We’re in] full circus mode.”

Below Dec k continues Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.

Below Deck Season 11 Episode 7 Recap: Cat’s Out Of The Bag

W elcome back to Episode 7 of Below Deck, Season 11. This week’s episode, “Cat’s Out of the Bag,” has Jared pay a price for awakening the captain twice in one night due to his inebriated rudeness.

Ben receives a significant promotion, and Cat reaches a low point that makes Fraser and Captain Kerry concerned about her mental well-being. Here are a few highlights from Episode 7 of Below Deck, Season 11.

Two crew members quit St. David on a single charter: stew Cat Baugh left for personal reasons and bosun Jared Woodin was sacked. The episode that aired tonight, “Cat’s Out of the Bag,” featured Captain Kerry hitting Jared with the boom after he got into a fight with deckhand Kyle Stillie while intoxicated.

However, Jared’s dismissal was due to more than just the contentious debate in the crew mess. Captain Kerry clarified his reasoning for dismissing the bosun in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.

He expected to fire Jared, but he wasn’t ready for what he refers to as “the fastest departure in Below Deck history” when Cat had to get off the boat right away.

Below, Captain Kerry discusses how his experience on Below Deck Adventure and his path with mental health have shaped who he is now and have affected his handling of the two crew departures. Right away, like the first day. The problem is that while you may be aware of it, you still attempt to veer off course.

In later episodes, where we were able to work with them and they were approaching breaking point as well, it will become clear about other staff members about whom I had concerns. Thus, I’m not sure. I believe that experiencing anything highly emotional heightens your awareness of other people’s states of being.

Really, that made me awake. Things were becoming really antagonistic. I knew where he was, but again, this happened a long time ago, so there’s only so much we can truly reveal [on broadcast]. With all of my crew, I put pressure on Jared—it’s a yacht.

I am aware that there is a TV show attached to it, but it’s a yacht, and I have expectations, one of which is that there won’t be a mess in the hot tub when I get up. And I’ll be considerate enough to hold off on checking right away. In previous episodes, I’ve witnessed Jared scurrying around in the morning to ensure that [everything is tidy].

He would have left the boat sooner than Cat had if I had smelled it. I had no idea that was happening, therefore. What was actually happening was that you would have a heavy drinking session and then be less functional the next day. And I had no idea that Ben was trying to undermine him.

Thus, he had to maintain his composure while dealing with undermining all the time. He was under pressure from all sides and [couldn’t get through to] his daughter, the work, and me.

“A couple of things,” Kerry says. “Jared’s leaving, and we’re gonna be down a crew member … If I leave this dock with a person down, can you handle … being the bosun on the boat?”

While I appreciate the closed captioning this show usually provides for Kyle, I actually have more difficulty with Kerry’s accent. He kind of mumbles and runs his words together. To Cat, he says, “You’ve been amazing. Listen, if you just get all your stuff together, we’re gonna make this happen, all right?”

Captain Kerry makes the right call

Below Dec k continues Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.

below deck sailing yacht season 3 episode 7

After several weeks of less-than-smooth sailing with the St. David crew, Captain Kerry Titheradge completed his first official Below Deck firing on Season 11, Episode 7 (which aired on March 18).

How to Watch

Watch  Below Deck on Bravo Mondays at 9/8c and next day on  Peacock . Catch up on the Bravo App .

The Aussie captain, who joined the series for Season 11 after appearing on Below Deck Adventure , let (SPOILER) Jared Woodin go following a series of mistakes as well a conflict with deckhand Kyle Stillie .

Jared wasn't the only yachtie who left the boat, however. Stew Cat Baugh decided to leave the vessel voluntarily after getting a serious phone call from a friend.

Who did Jared Woodin get fired on Below Deck Season 11, Episode 7?

As soon as Season 11 began, Captain Kerry recognized that Jared wasn't cut out to be the Bosun of a mega yacht. After giving Jared a few charters to see if he could improve during dockings and with his communication, Kerry decided to fire the Connecticut native.

Captain Kerry told Jared, "The way that you're treating these guys is not acceptable, and we've had discussions, and I've tried to guide you, I've shown you compassion. But, you've got sh-t going on, mate. You're your own worst enemy right now. You need to depart the vessel."

How Jared Woodin Reacted to Getting Fired

Once Kerry fired Jared, the dad of one seemed surprised. "I'm getting the boot?" Jared asked, and Kerry confirmed that was the case. "Really?"

Kerry noted that Jared did "have a lot going for [him]," but that  St. David  wasn't the right place for him.

"Take this time and work on yourself," Kerry said. "Me keeping you here is a disservice to you."

Jared ultimately agreed with that assessment in an interview on the episode.

"I thought I was in a good headspace coming in to this, [but] I'm really not. And, as much as I would like to be, I'm just lying to myself," he said. "Although the situation sucks, I actually really do feel a little bit lighter."

Why did cat baugh leave on below deck season 11.

Jared wasn't the only crew member who left St. David on Season 11, Episode 7. After expressing how it was hard for her to find her place amongst the rest of the yachties, stew Cat Baugh received a troubling phone call from a friend named Megan when she was in her cabin.

"I'm sorry, I know you can't talk, but she's not answering, and no one else is awake right now," Cat's friend said on the phone. "Do you have, like, a couple seconds? I'm freaking the f-ck out."

Cat didn't reveal what exactly the phone call was about, but she recognized that she needed to get back home.

"So, I got a call from my friend, Megan," Cat explained in an interview on the episode. "This is a situation I really can't talk about, but my friends are my family, so it feels really sh-tty not being able to be there for her."

Cat Baugh Hugs Captain Kerry as she leaves the yacht

After the charter guests arrived, Cat talked to her boss, Fraser Olender , about what she was feeling. He encouraged her to put her mental health first. Kerry did the same.

"My number one job is to take care of my crew and their health," Kerry said. "I'm well aware of mental health. She's got to go, now."

11 Things You Didn’t Know About Below Deck's Captain Kerry Titheradge

"I wish I could have stayed. But, the thing is, there's no way I could have," Cat concluded. "This is too much. I need to be with the people [who] need me, and also, on this boat, I'm at a breaking point. I need to protect my mental health. It's like my support system is at home, not here."

A Great Chief Stew Keeps 'Below Deck' Afloat

We love our 'Below Deck' Chief Stews!

The Big Picture

  • Chief Stews like Kate Chastain keeps Below Deck exciting with vibrant personalities and skills.
  • Fans have seen stews rise to become chief stews, like Aesha Scott and Fraser Olender.
  • The chief stew is essential to the success of the franchise, serving as the lifeline of the charter season.

While the captain may be steering the boat, it's the chief stew that keeps the yacht going! On Below Deck and its various spin-offs, fans have always taken a liking to Chief Stew. Whether it's figuring out how to make the impossible possible or handling the worst of the worst guests, the chief stew keeps Below Deck exciting . Some of the best in the reality show franchise have included Kate Chastain , Aesha Scott , and Fraser Olender . Their vibrancy and skills have kept viewers coming back for more , and dreaming of a chance to attend one of their amazing yacht parties!

Since the flagship series debuted on Bravo in 2013, Below Deck has been a fans' chance to get an inside glimpse of work life on the high seas. Spawning four spin-off series, Below Deck has been sailing strong as one of the top franchises on the network. Each series follows a crew of yachties as they spend a season chartering the highfalutin through exotic and picturesque locales. Displaying the on and off the super yacht antics, fans have fallen in love with the various cast members who have brought their work to the screen. Each charter features a captain who leads the crew. The exterior team comprises a bosun, sometimes a first officer, and a handful of deckhands. In the interior, the team comprises a series of stewardesses or stewards, led by the chief stewardess, lovably known as the chief stew. Throughout the various series of Below Deck , fans often have found their closest bond to the chief stew as they tend to be the most hands-on with the charter guests, handling their wild and outlandish requests. As proven season after season, a good chief stew keeps the ship's sanity and the program sailing. And it seems the c hief stews with the longest tenures have stood the test of time thanks to their rapport with both the crew and the guests , all while maintaining a confident and professional demeanor.

Follows the crew of a multi million dollar charter boat in the Caribbean.

Kate Chastain Is the Gold Standard of Chief Stews Across 'Below Deck'

Even though Captain Lee Rosbach has been the longest-lasting cast member in the Below Deck cinematic universe, it is Kate Chastain who has seemingly been the face of the franchise. And for good reason! Joining the crew during Below Deck Season 2, Kate didn't necessarily have big shoes to fill. Like any great reality television program, the first season of the franchise had some major growing pains to overcome. As viewers had to learn just how life on a super yacht works, they were introduced to a cast of characters that were tasked to balance work and filming a reality show. In Season 1, fans saw the interior led by Adrienne Gang , who spent the season struggling to cement power among her team and bond with the rest of the yachties. She was super serious and often lacked a personal connection. In the real world, she would likely be a top tier hire, but she just didn't click for the program. For Season 2, she was replaced with Kate, and while it took some time for her to grow a working relationship with Captain Lee and Chef Ben Robinson , fans were taken by her snark and her ability to keep things exciting. Maybe she didn't always do things appropriately. Just look back at the "rocket ship" blanket. What she did was keep things entertaining for the guests and the fans.

‘Below Deck's' David Bradberry Discusses Sexual Exploitation by Abercrombie & Fitch ex-CEO

Kate Chastain has become the gold standard for Chief Stews on Below Deck , no matter which version. Though she has passed her stripes over to new stews, Kate was a part of the flagship program from Season 2 through Season 7. Season after season, Kate has had a revolving door of stews working for her. And not all of them were the best. Kate was determined to be a professional manager, even if her employees could not work at her standards. Kate has had some gold star stews. While she did have a rocky start with Amy Johnson on Below Deck Season 2, they were a formidable pair a season later. Emily Warburton-Adams was a saint for Kate during Season 4. Despite some distractions during Season 5, Brianna Adekeye was the dream 2nd Stew for Kate. But her greatest bond was with a male stew on Season 6, Josiah Carter , who was a professionally trained butler. But for every Amy, Emily, Brianna, or Josiah, Kate suffered with some drama queens. It seems that for every good stew, there was one bad stew on the interior. How Kate was able to keep sane while handling Rocky Dakota in Season 3 is anybody's guess. Had there not been so much drama with the sudden crew turnaround,

Kate Had Run-insWith both Crew and Guests

Rocky would likely have been fired. Instead, Kate bit her tongue as best she could while Rocky stepped in as chef, pouring grenadine on oysters, becoming a boy magnet, toying with ever-so-sweet Emile Kotze , and being a homewrecker to fan favorite Eddie Lucas ' relationship. Season 5 was a season of unfortunate mistakes, as a good portion of the crew lacked experience. And such was the case with Jennifer Howell . Jen, a wonderful mother, was quite lazy and did nothing but irk Kate, who was forced to micromanage everything Jen needed to do. With Josiah being a near-perfect employee for Kate, she had trouble with 3rd Stew Caroline Bedol . Between her bed rest due to her foot injury and giving a two-day notice that turned into a few hours, Caroline was more of a burden and couldn't handle the pressure. Sadly for Kate, Caroline was replaced by Laura Betancourt , who was nothing but a know-it-all and tried to go toe-to-toe with Kate, who immediately put her in her place. Her previous Chief Stew status was nothing on Kate. No matter who Kate had on her team, she managed to succeed, charter after charter. Captain Lee adored Kate, trusting her with everything that needed to be done.

Viewers Should Pay Attention to 'Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen'

Whether it was the Caribbean or Tahiti, Kate was faced with some of the most incredulous charter guests. And some of those guests came back for more! Part of why these wealthy guests had a desire to return was the experience on board. Their onboard experience can only be credited to the work that Kate and her various teams provided. Oftentimes, she was able to make the impossible possible. One of the most prominent recurring guests was the infamous Dean Slover . Of course, Kate and Mr. Slover came to form their love-hate bond thanks to her phallic-shaped folded blanket on his bed. While Captain Lee was furious and was fearful that it would lead to a reduced tip, Dean Slover was a lover of the joke, and expected an artistic gift on his bed during every charter he was on. He became her charter soulmate as they developed a shorthand.

Unlike Chef Ben who was always receiving a lashing due to the specifically timed meals. Parties are essential on charters. Most of the time they were reasonable, but when the foam wasn't foaming, Kate had to make it up. His appearance in Season 3 was a headache for the crew, so when his name came up during the Season 6 preference sheet meeting, Kate was already prepared. Despite that, his rowdy and demanding behavior resulted in another problematic trip. His flirtatious nature went beyond appropriate, and Kate sadly let her stew stay in the line of fire. No matter what, she's Kate the Great! And Below Deck fans were saying," we told you so," after her two-season star turn on The Traitors .

Fans Have Watched Stews Turn Into Chief Stews Before Their Eyes

Rising in the ranks is true in any industry. Not every chief stew starts on Below Deck in the top position. Fans have been allowed to watch some of their favorites develop on the show, and turn into stews before their eyes as they are hired as chief stews on future seasons, or even future franchises! One of the absolute fan-favorite cast members in the Below Deck cinematic universe is Aesha Scott . The bubbly and high-energy New Zealander first came to fame in the fourth season of Below Deck Mediterranean . She was a hard worker, dedicated to her craft. However she did find love on the open seas. And when trouble was bubbling under the water in Season 5, Aesha was called in to serve as a replacement. As a fan favorite, Aesha was tapped to lead her own Below Deck spin off, serving as the chief stew for seasons 1 and 2 of Below Deck Down Under .

Now at the top of the Stew food chain, Aesha, once again, proved why she is one of the most beloved yachties in Below Deck history. Aesha was personable with everyone, even if she had a troublemaker in the galley with Chef Ryan McKeown . Her bond with Captain Jason Chambers mirrored the close bond Kate Chastain had with Captain Lee. Fans often speculated a budding romance between Aesha and Captain Jason. It was a relationship they wanted to ship off the ship. Aesha was a team player and encouraged the best from her team. She was so strong at her job, she even brilliantly trained a future chief stew, Tumi Mhlongo , who would journey over to Below Deck Mediterranean for Season 8. Though unlike Aesha, Tumi was much stricter, turning off some Below Deck fans in the process.

Andy Cohen Is Right, Don't Come On 'Housewives' If You Have Something to Hide

Below Deck reflects the real world of yachting, displaying what life aboard a yacht might be like in the real world. In general, gender roles play greatly into the employment of certain positions in the yachting industry. On Below Deck Mediterranean , Captain Sandy Yawn was the ferocious first female captain in the Below Deck franchise. She came in with a purpose, to prove that it doesn't have to be in a male-dominated position. While Below Deck did have male stewards, history was made during Season 10 when Fraser Olender became the first male chief stew. And he has proven that he is the official new face of the flagship franchise. Originally joining the crew as a second stew during Season 9, Fraser proved his worth and his ability, so that Captain Lee invited him to serve as the chief stew on the St. David. As fans remember, Captain Lee had a difficult tenth season as he struggled with some severe nerve issues. He had to temporarily leave the charter season to get better. And who better to serve as his substitute than Captain Sandy?

Even though both Captain Sandy and Fraser were groundbreaking when it came to historic hires for Below Deck , they were at odds often during her tenure. She even broke him down to the point where he seemed like a sad puppy trying to do right. Despite that, Fraser was a seasoned professional and ensured that his guests had the best experiences possible. Fraser has an impeccable work ethic, yet still finds a way to entertain himself and his fellow crew. His bond with Chef Rachel Hargrove and stew Haley De Sola Pinto always found a way to let steam off, enjoying the experience in the process. He may not be as strict as Kate was, but like Kate, he's had some terrible stews under him. He somehow managed to handle the mess that was Camille Lamb and Alissa Humber drama during Season 10. For Below Deck , Season 11 was a major transition season as it marked the first season without Captain Lee fully at the helm. Captain Kerry Titheradge transitioned over from Below Deck Adventure to take over. With a new captain, it made sense that Fraser returned as Chief Stew. Below Deck is in more than capable hands with Fraser Olender. His legacy is just beginning.

Below Deck is a beloved Bravo series. And it's thanks to some of the brilliant characters the fans have met along the way. In the history of the franchise, there have been many more other Chief Stews that have been monumental and could easily be discussed in this article. Good thing that the franchise isn't going anywhere anytime soon! Without a great Chief Stew, the charter season would fail. And with a failed season, comes a bad season on Below Deck . The chief stew is the lifeline of the franchise.

Below Deck airs on Mondays on Bravo. It's available to stream on Peacock the next day.
