Disney Yacht Club from across the water

Dining at the Disney Yacht Club is the ideal blend of upscale and convenient, with plenty of options. Fitting with the feel of the resort, the dining locations have that county club vibe, even the quick service spots. All the while, the food is high quality and delicious!

The Disney Yacht Club also shares a few of our favorite dining locations with its sister, the Disney Beach Club . Get the best of both worlds with dining at this resort, Yacht Club providing class and Beach Club providing fun.

The galley is always open – disney resorts room service.

Enjoy a meal in the quiet and privacy of your own room with the Disney Resorts Room Service, excellent food options delivered right to your door. Just press “Dining Options” on your in-room phone, place an order, and the food comes to you.

At the Yacht Club, you’ll find typical Disney food options along with some nautical favorites, fitting with the theme of the resort. A delicious lobster and corn chowder or yummy local baked fish are perfect for seafood-lovers, or splurge on a fabulous Maine lobster roll. If you prefer landlubber cuisine, a brick lemon-herb chicken or a bacon cheeseburger will match your tastes. Buffalo wings and fries are always a good choice too if you need something quick and simple. Kids have plenty of their favorite options as well, like chicken nuggets and cheeseburgers.

There are also some awesome dessert options on the menu! If you missed the chance to hit Beaches & Cream, you can order ice cream up to your room. You can even get an entire cake to share, which is nice for a special occasion.

An 18% gratuity, $5.00 delivery charge and 6.5% sales tax will apply to all delivery orders.

The Market at Ale & Compass

Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, The Market at Ale & Compass is the main quick service dining option at the Disney Yacht Club. Simply referred to as The Market , you can get a fast and filling meal any time of the day, and take a few minutes to peruse the souvenirs in the adjoining shop.

Especially if you’re in a hurry, The Market is a great place to take advantage of Mobile Order . This awesome service allows you to use the My Disney Experience app to order ahead at quick service locations. That means your food will be ready when you arrive! Pick up your food as you walk in, and head right back out, or stay and enjoy your meal. Either way, it will save you the time of waiting for the food to be prepared.

The Market at Ale & Compass

One of our go-to items at any quick service location is the Breakfast Bowl, with scrambled eggs, a Mickey waffle, bacon, and potato barrels (tater tots). I like to get these sorts of combo meals because they are easy to split, and definitely filling. A top tip is to avoid overeating, especially at breakfast, so splitting this meal is ideal. Also available, try different breakfast sandwiches and a healthier egg-white wrap if you want something of your own. Plain Mickey waffles are always a delicious option!

Snacks are well stocked at The Market, so pick up fruit, yogurt, or milk and cereal if you like to breakfast light. Plenty of yummy treats await you at the bakery as well, the chocolate-hazelnut croissant being one of my breakfast favorites.

Don’t forget to fill your mug with coffee, juice, tea, or milk!

Lunch and Dinner

For these times, a variety of hot or cold sandwiches and salads make for nice, light meals. The Cuban sandwich is one of the most popular hot items, with ham, slow-roasted pork, Swiss cheese, pickles, mayonnaise, and mustard all on a hoagie roll served with house-made chips. You can also grab a foot-long chili-cheese hotdog, similar to the gourmet hotdogs served at the Beach Club Marketplace.

Cold sandwiches are great to grab in the morning to take to the parks, or to bring out to eat by the pool. You could even pick one up before you leave, giving you a portable lunch if you’re driving home. Among these are the roast beef sandwich, slices of roast beef topped with horseradish cream, caramelized onions, and arugula all on multigrain bread. Vegetarians will love the roasted vegetable sandwich with roasted Portobello mushrooms, zucchini, red bell peppers, and cauliflower dressed with roasted red pepper hummus, topped with slices of fresh tomatoes and grilled onion served on herb Focaccia bread. Both sandwiches come with house-made chips.

Other Options

Kids have the additional options of grilled cheese, macaroni and cheese, a ham sandwich, and an Uncrustable. The children’s meals come with a choice of sides and beverage, making these items a great deal.

The bakery is open all day, so don’t forget to snag something sweet! Sticky buns, chocolate twists, and brownies are all amazing. The bakery also has seasonal cupcakes , each with their own amazing flavor profile and fun decoration!

In the evening, stop by The Market for a variety of beer and wines, which you can enjoy there or take back to your room. If you want something to go, I suggest getting a bottle of wine rather than wine by the glass. You’ll have it for your whole trip, and get more value for your dollar.

There are two main lounges at the Disney Yacht Club – the Ale & Compass Lounge and the Crew’s Cup Lounge. Both are excellent places to relax in the evening, and enjoy a delicious beverage. These are both full bars, so only overage guests are permitted.

The Ale & Compass Lounge

Grab a drink while you wait for your Ale & Compass reservation, or simply lounge in the relaxed atmosphere. The Ale & Compass Lounge is ideal for a relaxing evening or quick bite, all while enjoying a refreshing drink. Opening at 4:00pm and staying open until 10:00pm, this lounge is a great place for an evening hangout.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Monica Glenn (@ftjtravelbymonica)

Healthy-sized appetizers comprise the food options, giving you filling snacks or lighter meals, depending on your plans. Items like the Parker House rolls with assorted spreads – bacon jam, pub cheese, and citrus butter – are great if you just want something to nibble while you drink. Flatbreads and a bacon cheeseburger are perfect for dinner in the lounge, both options are full sized meals.

In addition to the full-bar offerings, the Ale & Compass Lounge has several original cocktails. A twist on a class, the Maple Old Fashioned will give you that New England feeling. Made with Jim Beam Black Extra-aged Bourbon, maple syrup, orange juice, and angostura bitters, this is a great way to change up your regular. For those in a spicy mood, try the Spicy Pomegranate Margarita. Mix Tequila, Ancho Reyes Chile liqueur, pomegranate juice, and simple syrup together to create a zesty and delicious cocktail! A squirt of fresh lime juice on the top adds a bit of tang and cuts the heat.

Enjoy nonalcoholic mixers as well, like a grapefruit spritzer and the No-Kick Mule, just with ginger beer and lime.

Crew’s Cup Lounge

Outside the Yachtsman Steakhouse, the Crew’s Cup Lounge is a nice alternative if you can’t get a reservation at the steakhouse. The Crew’s Cup is also a good place for one of those appetizer as dinner nights, when you’re up to your ears in delicious (but rich!) Disney food.

On the appetizer menu, share a savory and delightful charcuterie and cheese board, coming with different accompaniments depending on the season. For something a little more substantial, the prime rib sliders are perfect, topped with horseradish cream and served on house-made onion rolls. Jumbo shrimp cocktail are always a great option as well, a light snack with just enough protein to get you to your next meal. Have the shrimp with the Yachtsman signature bread to round out a meal.

Crew’s Cup also offers full entrees, so you can add this to your dinner spot list. After 5:00pm, you can get an amazing ten-ounce prime rib, served with mashed potatoes and horseradish cream. For something a little different, try the Twice-fried Green Circle Chicken. Smoked Feta spoon bread and chicken croquettes come with pickled rhubarb and fiddlehead ferns, an interesting take on fried chicken.

You’ll come for the food, but stay for the drinks! Along with an extensive beer, wine, and bourbon selection, Crew’s Cup offers a large variety of signature cocktails. Literally Walk the Plank with an amazing blend of rye whiskey, orange juice, almond liqueur, and lemon juice garnished with Maraschino cherries. Combine the elements of country and tropical vacation with a Whiskey Breeze – Jim Beam Black Extra-aged Bourbon, Cointreau, and lime juice shaken with guava and mango for that aloha vibe. You could also choose to drink your dessert with the Godiva Chocolate Martini. A divine concoction, this martini mixes Godiva chocolate liqueur, Stoli Vanil vodka, Bols White Crème de Cacao, and Frangelico. This sweet treat will warm you from the inside out!

Available for breakfast and dinner, the Ale & Compass Restaurant is a great option for a nice family meal. Especially if you’re looking for a quality table service breakfast, you have to try out the Ale & Compass!

Think breakfast favorites, with an upgrade. The American Breakfast has the right balance of breakfast foods – two eggs any-style, breakfast potatoes, and choice of breakfast meats. Eggs benedict get the added decadence of smoked pork loin, along with herbs and spices in the hollandaise sauce.

While these dishes are amazing, the quick bread breakfast items change the game. No plain French toast here, but instead, we see salted-caramel apple French toast. Two massive pieces of French toast, sliced horizontally, and stuffed with delicious caramel apples. A buttery brown sugar crumble and salted-caramel drizzle tops the slices, completing the picture. However, that isn’t the end. The Dark Chocolate Waffles are to die for! Three thick, circular waffles hold a dried cherry compote, on top of which sits huge dollops of espresso-mascarpone cream, finished with chocolate shavings. It’s a good thing these richly incredible waffles come with a side of breakfast meat to cut through the sweet deliciousness!

Kid’s Meals

For your kiddos, they can get their favorites Mickey waffles or blueberry pancakes if in the mood for something sweet. Scrambled eggs and a mini-breakfast sandwich are great options if they want a savory dish instead.

As always, I recommend splitting an adult meal between two kids. Especially if they want to try something like the chocolate waffles or the French toast, the split is perfect. It actually works out to be cheaper than a kid’s meal!

Ale & Compass does specialty brunches for Easter and Mother’s Day, a great way to treat yourself or Mom! Going to be dining at the Disney Yacht Club during these holidays? You might want to consider an Ale & Compass brunch.

A great mix of surf and turf, Ale & Compass has a dinner menu that will please everyone in your group. To start your meal, try the amazing lobster and corn chowder or roasted garlic shrimp, both coming with house-made items to dip. Smaller plates are available in the form of salads and flatbreads, both meat and vegetables options to fit all dietary needs.

Of the main plates, our favorites would have to be the New England Seafood Pot Pie, braised short ribs, and the brick lemon chicken. For the potpie, it is stuffed full of a plethora of different seafood – shrimp, scallops, lump crab, and the catch of the day. Mixed in are pearl onions, peas, and potatoes, all coated in a creamy seafood cream sauce. The flaky pastry on the outside completes this delectable dish. The short ribs are fall-apart tender, accompanied by a flavorful roasted vegetable mash and barbecue demi sauce for dipping. Alongside the lemon chicken, you’ll love the duck fat-roasted potatoes and veggie sauté. Add truffle fries with a house-made shallot mayo for extra decadence!

If that weren’t enough, the three dessert options will send you right over the edge. Completely plant-based, the mango torte layers mango mousse and spiced lemon pound cake, covered with fresh berries and a raspberry sauce. You could also try the warm apple cobbler served with frozen vanilla custard, or a rich flourless chocolate cake covered in chocolate ganache and offset by a coffee Chantilly cream. Basically, if you’re not rolling out of Ale & Compass, something went wrong with your meal!

Kids have the ability to build their own meals, choosing from a selection of main dishes and sides. Kids that are more adventurous might like the pasta Bolognese or catch of the day, while a cheeseburger is there to save the day for pickier eaters. Side options include sautéed broccolini, macaroni & cheese, corn, and red potatoes, and kid approved! The side menu includes two dessert options – mini ice cream sandwiches and honey-marshmallow s’mores. Kids can choose to get one savory side and one sweet, working their dessert into the price of their meal.

Open only for dinner, the Yachtsman Steakhouse is the signature dining experience at the Disney Yacht Club. Designed to be elegant, upscale, and a true yacht-country club experience, this steakhouse has high quality dishes and a fabulous atmosphere. Yachtsman Steakhouse even has a dress code, heightening the fancy feel of the restaurant.

I recommend making this a date night or adults-only meal. Of course, you can bring your kids, but they need to adhere to the dress code as well. Between that and the sophisticated style of the place, you need to decide if this is the best place to bring your kids.

First Course

Yes, they even refer to the stages of the meal as courses!

First course items include steakhouse staples like a wedge salad, Caesar salad, and French onion soup, all of which are perfect ways to start your evening. If you want to try something a little different, consider the Ahi tuna tartare with a poke vinaigrette and wasabi, or the creamy lobster bisque. You could also get a charcuterie or cheese board to share if you don’t want to fill up before the main meal.

Chef’s Signature Offerings

These three dishes come recommended by the Yachtsman’s chef, and designed to be truly delicious experience. The first is the Chilled Captain’s Tower, a combination of jumbo shrimp, mussels, oyster shooters, scallop ceviche, and charred octopus salad. As the name suggests, the tower is served cold, and is ideal for the true seafood lover. If you prefer your seafood hot, I recommend you try one of the Land and Sea entrees instead.

Both of the other signatures dishes are made to share between two people. The first is a 28-oz prime porterhouse steak, 21-Day dry-aged, with accompaniments of bone marrow, green onion brioche bread, garlic butter, and your choice of two sides. Second is the Chilled Admiral’s Tower, and upgraded version from the Captain’s Tower. In addition to the Captain’s Tower seafood, the Admiral’s Tower also has Maine lobster, snow crab, and tuna tartare. Again, this item is served cold.

Butcher’s Cuts

It is a steakhouse after all, and these steaks are the main event. Filet mignon, prime rib, rib-eye, and New York strip all come cooked to order, with their own incredible seasonings and sauces to bring out the flavor of the meat. Of these, the filet mignon is my personal pick, covered in a cognac-truffle butter that adds to the unctuous nature of the steak.

Each steak comes with your selection of mashed potatoes, potato-leek gratin, sweet potato casserole, house-made French fries, or broccolini. You can also choose to add to your meal one of the signature Steakhouse Sides – truffle macaroni & cheese, creamed spinach, loaded hasselback potato, house-made truffle fries, or braised mushrooms. I suggest getting the broccolini with your meal (you’ll be glad for a vegetable!) and then adding one of the richer steakhouse sides.

Yachtsman Steakhouse offers further enhancements if you want to add to the luxurious nature of your meal. Get your steak Oscar-style, with asparagus, lump crab meat, and a rich béarnaise sauce. You can also add a half lobster, bone marrow, or thick-cut bacon for a little extra richness.

Land and Sea Entrees

Here’s where the hot, succulent seafood pairs with the delicious steakhouse offerings. Whole Maine lobster and Georges Bank Scallops are paired with incredible sauces and accompaniments to bring out their delicate flavors. If you want something unique, you might enjoy the Cervena Elk from the land side, with a parsnip puree and blueberry sauce.

You can also add the bone marrow or half a lobster to the items, or get them Oscar-style.

Yachtsman has several amazing desserts, but my picks would be the chocolate lava cake and the banana bread pudding. Using high quality chocolate, this lava cake is unlike any you’ve ever had. In addition the cake itself, it comes with a refreshing coconut ice cream to cut through the richness and is topping with a raspberry-Chambord Sauce and gingersnap crumbs.

The banana bread pudding is warm, comforting, and delicious. Caramelized bananas have the right touch of sweetness, as does the caramel rum sauce on top. A side of butter pecan ice cream ties the whole dessert together.

Disney Yacht and Beach Club Dining

While two separate resorts, the Disney Yacht Club shares a few dining locations with the Disney Beach Club. Of course, if you’re staying at either, it is easy to pop over to the other resort to enjoy the dining options. After all, the resorts share a pool area, they’re that close together!

However, two dining spots are right in the middle of the Disney Yacht & Beach Club that you’ll want to check out!

Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grill

Out by the pool, Hurricane Hanna’s is the main pool bar and eatery for Stormalong Bay. This is a great place for you to get a poolside lunch or refreshing beverage, especially if you don’t want to have to trek back to your room. Don’t let the fact that this is a pool bar fool you, Hurricane Hanna’s has some delicious options!

Much like other pool bars, Hurricane Hanna’s has lighter fare, which is what you want out of a meal by the pool. Grab a cool Greek or Caesar salad, perfect for a hot day and a light lunch. If you want to make your salad a bit more substantial, you can add chicken for that extra protein. The rest of the savory items are sandwiches, again ideal for poolside eating. The Italian Focaccia and turkey and Swiss sandwiches are both delicious, but our favorite is the seafood roll. Fresh seafood comes tossed in a citrusy mayo dressing, with just the right amount of zing. All three sandwiches come with house-made chips, which gives just the right touch to the meal.

What would a bar be without amazing drinks! Hurricane Hanna’s has two specialty cocktails you’re going to love – the Category 5 and Storm Chaser. Category 5 has that pirate feel that will have you singing Yo-ho, yo-ho, a pirate’s life for me! With Captain Morgan spiced rum, crème de banana, peach schnapps, you’ll be feeling the island vibes in no time; add in a mix of orange and pineapple juices and a splash of grenadine to balance out the drink. If that wasn’t enough, the Category 5 also comes with a float of Gosling’s 151 Rum.

Meanwhile, the Storm Chaser is made with vodka, Bacardi superior rum, blue curacao, and sweet-and sour. A splash of Sprite brings a touch of sweetness and effervesce for a tropical buzz. Between these drinks and the beaches of Stormalong Bay, you’ll forget you’re not on a cruise !

Aside from these drinks, enjoy plenty of other cocktails on the rocks or frozen, as well as a wide variety of beer and wines. We recommend the Sunshine Margarita, a Disney poolside staple, or the Frosé, a frozen concoction of rosé mixed with vodka. Both are refreshing, and perfect for a sunny day by the pool.

For the kids and nondrinkers in your group, there are sweet and cool smoothie options as well as some virgin version of your favorites.

Beaches & Cream Soda Shop has been one of my favorites for as long as I can remember, and it is still one of my favorite places to visit. I can’t tell you how many fond memories I have of sitting out in front of the quick service window, waiting for our No Way José to appear. And then watching it disappear in a matter of minutes! Our family is decided ice-cream lovers, and Beaches & Cream never disappoints.

Beaches & Cream opens every day at 11:30am, providing a place to get a fun and delicious diner meal for lunch or dinner. You can always skip straight to dessert…many people do! Beaches & Cream is also open until 9:00pm, making it a great place to stop after a day at Epcot or on a walk around the boardwalk. This is usually when we stop by, after touring through the other resorts in the area or playing a round of mini-golf. It’s a great way to finish an evening!

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Amanda Smolko (@a_bookish_baker)

Beaches & Cream has a reputation for fantastic and fanciful desserts, but that’s not all there is to this location. The menu features delicious savory foods as well, combining diner favorites with a touch of table service sophistication. A nostalgic, 1950s diner feel makes this bright and fun location just a great place to hang out. Especially with the recent remodel, the larger space and new décor adds something to the atmosphere.

Diner Delights

Start with a classic cheeseburger, grilled cheese, or French dip sandwich. You could also go for two of the most popular items, the cheddar bacon-ranch chicken sandwich or house-made Reuben. It wouldn’t be a diner if you couldn’t get French fries or onion rings on the side, but Beaches & Cream added tater tots to their menu with the reopening! All your favorite loaded fry options now come in tot form, so if you’re a tot lover, you have to check these out.

Even though they are not listed on the menu right now, in the past Beaches & Cream has had a variety of salads to balance out the sandwich options, as well as a few seafood dishes. What’s great about Disney dining is that they are always rotating your options to keep things fresh, so be on the lookout for new additions!

You can always swing by the pickup window and take your lunch back to the pool, or enjoy your meal at the limited outdoor seating. However, if you definitely want to sit inside for the whole experience, a reservation is a must. Beaches & Cream is quite popular!

Soda Shop Marvels

Alright Mom, I had my dinner, now can I have dessert?

These incredible sweet treats will have you feeling like a kid again, and cause the actual kids in your group to go bananas!

To begin, you can get a classic strawberry shortcake or brownie a la mode. While both are delicious, these items are definitely elsewhere around Disney World , so we suggest going for one of the unique options that makes Beaches & Cream special. You’ll find these delicious delights on the Sundaes on the Beach section of the menu, and you’re going to be overwhelmed by your choices!

As I mentioned before, we are partial to the No Way José, an out of this world peanut butter and hot fudge masterpiece that features both chocolate and vanilla ice cream. Not enough? How about some chocolate pieces and whipped cream on top? Perfect.

The Fudge Mud Slide and Snickers Sundae are both similar to the No Way José, with three scoops of ice cream each, covered in chocolate, and topped with cookie pieces and Snickers bars respectively. You can also go for classics like a banana split or three-scoop sundae, giving you the chance to build your own delicious dessert

Even with all these other choices, the real star of this show is the infamous Kitchen Sink . Getting its name from the phrase “everything but the kitchen sink,” you won’t believe it until you see it. With eight scoops of ice cream, all the toppings in the store , huge chunks of cake, and an entire can of whipped cream , this sundae is no joke. The menu says that it serves four, but it really feeds more like six or eight. Recently, Beaches & Cream has added a Chocolate Lovers and Neapolitan option as well, which focuses more on these flavors.

Grabbing something to go? You can get a plain scoop of hand-dipped ice cream on cone or in a cup, or slurp up a rich milkshake. These are great if you’re planning to eat or drink as you walk, while meeting the need for a sweet treat.

No matter what dining option you choose at the Disney Yacht Club, you’re going to leave satisfied…and wanting to come back for more!

Yachtsman Steakhouse Yacht and Beach Club Resort Walt DIsney World

You can also make reservations on the Walt Disney World website or by calling the reservation center at Walt Disney World.

Yachtsman Steakhouse Yacht and Beach Club Resort Walt DIsney World (6)

A word of warning though, the latter of the two options is not the most efficient and phone calls to Disney have been taking upwards of two hours just to talk to someone.

If you do see a reservation for the restaurant you should go ahead and book it even if it’s not at your intended dining time, because it’s always easier to modify an existing reservation versus make a new one.

If you decide you don’t want to dine at Yachtsman Steakhouse after you’ve reserved a table, you can cancel without penalty up to 24 hours before your reservation.

What if I Can’t get a reservation for Yachtsman Steakhouse?

There are a few options if you can’t get a reservation for Yachtsman Steakhouse before your trip to Walt Disney World.

Yachtsman Steakhouse Yacht and Beach Club Resort Walt DIsney World (5)

The first is to get to the restaurant right when it opens at 5:00 p.m. and see if you can be seated.

Another option is to eat in the nearby lounge, Crews Cup , which is currently serving the exact same menu as Yachtsman Steakhouse.

Crews Cup Lounge

The Crews Cup Lounge is located right next door to Yachtsman Steakhouse. Its vibe is very relaxed with tables, booths, and bar seating.

This lounge used to have its own unique menu , but post-pandemic the original menu has not returned and the lounge is serving the Yachtsman Steakhouse menu.

If you are able to snag a table inside the Crews Cup Lounge, try to get the table near the window looking into the dry-aging room at Yachtsman Steakhouse.

Through the window, you can see the steaks being expertly cut by the restaurant’s butcher for service as guests order.

What’s on the Menu at Yachtsman Steakhouse?

Yachtsman Steakhouse only serves dinner and everything on the menu is a la carte, meaning every item you order is a certain price.

Meals start out with a bread basket filled with savory pull-apart onion rolls and cherry multigrain sourdough rolls.

Bread Service

The bread is served with the restaurant’s signature roasted garlic and salted butter.

Yes, that means you can literally smear pieces of roasted garlic and slather butter all over these delightful breads.

When it comes to starters, I really enjoy the French Onion Soup , which is perfectly rich with plenty of onions, sourdough croutons, and topped with melted gruyère cheese. You definitely have to try the Beef Carpaccio as well.

Entrees and Dessert at the Yachtsman Steakhouse

Entrees obviously mean having a steak , and no matter which one you choose it comes with a sauce or butter, and your choice of side. I always order the 14-ounce roasted prime rib with horseradish cream.

Yachtsman Steakhouse Yacht and Beach Club Resort Walt DIsney World Dirty Martini with Mashed Potatoes Steak mushrooms

Each entree comes with your choice of accompaniment, with either mashed potatoes, potato-leek gratin, or house-made French fries. I typically choose the gratin or the fries.

When dinner is done, do not leave the restaurant without trying one of the delicious desserts.

The signature dessert at the restaurant is the Yachtsman’s Chocolate Cake, which is made with dark chocolate mousse, chocolate cake, mixed berry curd, peanut butter crunch, and mousse, and serves two.

My Final Thoughts and Review of Yachtsman Steakhouse

Yachtsman Steakhouse is a lovely option for dining at Walt Disney World, whether you’re traveling alone or going out with friends, or on a date night.

Yachtsman Steakhouse Yacht and Beach Club Resort Walt DIsney World (8)

Here are a few tips to ensure your experience at Yachtsman Steakhouse is the best that it can be.

  • Security at the front of the Yacht Club can be very strict about who they let into the parking lot at the hotel.
  • If you don’t have a confirmed dining reservation at the Yachtsman Steakhouse , your better option for dining here will be to take a ride share or take the Disney Skyliner . This is best if you’re staying at one of the resorts that the transportation service goes to and from.
  • I f you’re at EPCOT and want a break from the park and think Yachtsman Steakhouse sounds like a nice place, you’ll want to walk to the back of the park to the International Gateway to get to the Yacht Club and to the restaurant.

What should you know?

Open for dinner only, Yachtsman Steakhouse serves up steak, seafood, and sides. This is a signature restaurant that tries to create an atmosphere, so expect high prices and to adhere to a minimal dress code.

What’s it like inside?

Wooden beams, white linens, and a view of the Yacht Club’s sandy lagoon make Yachtsman feel light and airy rather than dark and masculine like the typical steakhouse. Beef is the star, of course, but there are other options on the menu.

What are the specialties?

Bread service with roasted, sweet garlic.

The best restaurants at Disney World in 2024

Summer Hull

Even when you're surrounded by Disney magic, you still have to eat.

At Walt Disney World , mealtime can range from quick burgers and fries to immersive experiences that transport you across the globe — or even into space. It's not uncommon to spend as much time strategizing about where to eat at Disney as which attractions to ride. That's certainly our approach.

When you visit Disney World, you'll need to think of dining in two separate categories: quick-service meals that serve as a way to fuel up before getting back to the action and table-service meals at one-of-a-kind venues that provide entertainment, character meet-and-greets or global cuisine that will change the way you think about theme park food.

However, not all Disney food — and dining experiences — are created equal. Once your kids know they can eat in space or that Mickey, Minnie or the princesses can join them for dinner, you may have to choose between a budget-friendly meal and creating lasting memories during a pretty pricey dining excursion.

We do the "hard" work of testing — and revisiting — as many Disney World restaurants as we can each year so you know which ones to add to your itinerary ... and which ones to skip. Here are the best restaurants at Disney World for 2024.

FOR NO-COST ASSISTANCE WITH PLANNING AND BOOKING YOUR NEXT DISNEY VACATION, CHECK OUT TPG'S DISNEY BOOKING PARTNER, MOUSE COUNSELORS .

Best Disney World restaurants

Best disney world restaurant: takumi-tei.

yacht club disney dining

The best restaurant at Disney World is, without question, Takumi-Tei . It wins for not only the quality of the food but the refined service, unique atmosphere and memorable experience that will leave you in disbelief that you are still in Central Florida.

There are only two options here, both of which are inspired by traditional omakase meals: a plant-based menu for $150 per person and one with meat for $250 per person. Children younger than 8 aren't allowed, and both menus take two to three hours to enjoy, so plan accordingly and savor your brief escape to Japan.

Best restaurant at Epcot for guests of all ages: Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria

yacht club disney dining

While Takumi-Tei takes our top spot on this list, we'll add another good Epcot option that is more affordable and welcomes all guests.

In the heart of the Italy Pavilion in Epcot's World Showcase, this long-standing favorite features legitimate Italian food that would pass muster in New York City's Little Italy. The restaurant uses ingredients straight from Naples, including flour and tomatoes. Even the water used in Via Napoli's pizza dough is shipped in from Pennsylvania because the pH is similar to that of the water in Naples.

yacht club disney dining

Pizzas are more expensive than your local pizza delivery spot, but they are large enough to share. A large costs between $36 and $42 and can feed three to four people. If you are extra hungry or have a larger group, the massive half-meter pizza serves up to six people and costs between $48 and $58. You can opt for traditional flavors like Meat Lover or Margherita or branch out and try a pie with prosciutto and melon or artichokes and truffle oil.

Via Napoli also serves pasta, salad, desserts and small plates like calamari and homemade focaccia. Most entrees cost no more than $30. The eatery also offers a full selection of cocktails, sangria and wine.

Best restaurant at Disney's Hollywood Studios: The Hollywood Brown Derby

This Hollywood Studios replica of the California icon has an air-conditioned dining room that's ideal for a lunchtime escape from the Florida heat.

Service here isn't always fast, and the prices aren't cheap, but it is a glorious way to fill up while getting a legitimate break from the park. The Cobb salad ($25) is a classic, and you can't go wrong with the filet mignon served with horseradish cream and peppercorn sauce ($49).

yacht club disney dining

Best restaurant at the Magic Kingdom: Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen

Unless what you're after is an expensive character meal, there's no better sit-down restaurant in the Magic Kingdom than Skipper Canteen. This claim is especially true if you enjoy the Jungle Cruise ride and slightly more adventurous eating than stereotypical theme park fare like burgers and fries.

yacht club disney dining

On the lunch and dinner menus, you'll find dishes such as Falls Family Falafel ($12) and "Tastes Like Chicken" Because It Is! ($28), sweet chili-glazed fried chicken served with jasmine rice and seasonal vegetables. There's also a sustainable fish course featuring Asian flavors for $32.

If you like spicy noodle dishes, Skipper Dan's Dan Dan Noodles ($28), a noodle dish topped with crispy pork, vegetables and a spicy chili sauce, is unlike anything else you'll find in the Magic Kingdom.

yacht club disney dining

Best restaurant at Disney's Animal Kingdom: Tusker House Restaurant

yacht club disney dining

This was a tough call, but we'll give Tusker House the slight edge over Tiffins Restaurant, another Animal Kingdom favorite, as Tusker House allows you to see characters in unique, cool costumes.

Tusker House offers a buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's a bit pricey at $62 per adult and $40 per child, plus taxes and tip, for lunch and dinner (or $47 per adult and $30 per child, excluding taxes and tip, for breakfast), but you can make as many return trips to the buffet as you like.

You'll find traditional fare like pastries, bacon, sausage and Mickey waffles at breakfast. Lunch and dinner have more African-inspired flavors like berbere-marinated pork, South African-spiced vegetables and green curry shrimp. There's a standard kids menu for picky eaters, too.

To accompany your meal, you can enjoy an assortment of cocktails, from safari-themed drinks such as a Tikiti Punch to traditional drinks like a Moscow mule, beer, wine and cider for an extra cost.

Best quick-service meal: Satuli Canteen

yacht club disney dining

If you want quick-service food at its Disney-fied finest, head to Satuli Canteen next to Avatar Flight of Passage in Disney's Animal Kingdom.

The fast-casual spot's beef, chicken and fish bowls (which cost between $13.29 and $17.99 per bowl) make for a quick, cheap and healthy lunch or dinner. As an added bonus, there's also a selection of wine and beer, should you wish to wind down after the "Avatar" experience.

If you save room for dessert, order the spherical blueberry cream cheese mousse ($5.79). It's easily a highlight of the entire menu.

Best fancy meal: Victoria & Albert's

If you want to savor the best award-winning food at Disney World while celebrating a special occasion like a major anniversary, a milestone birthday or an epic celebration, head to the posh Victoria & Albert's restaurant in Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa . Just don't expect to roll in straight from the parks; this is an upscale venue with a Michelin Star and a strict dress code.

Children younger than 10 aren't permitted here, and you should expect to spend several hundred dollars on a multicourse tasting meal for two — surpassing $1,000 is common if you and your dining companion decide to include wine pairings. Book the chef's table to watch the kitchen team prepare your incredible meal.

Best lounge meal: Nomad Lounge

If you want a nice daytime break while at Disney's Animal Kingdom, there's no better place than Nomad Lounge. In fact, it's arguably worth visiting the park on its own.

Located right before you enter Pandora — The World of Avatar, Nomad Lounge is the absolute best place for a snack if you like items that are a bit more worldly and flavorful. Though it can easily take an hour or more to have your turn come up on the walk-up waitlist, you'll be rewarded handsomely once inside (or on the patio).

Nomad Lounge favorites include the bread service from the connected Tiffins Restaurant ($18), the sliders with amazing yucca fries ($15) and the churros ($10). The menu items are all shareable, so you and your group can try several things without filling up too much in the middle of the day.

Best Disney World snacks and treats

While there are a bunch of excellent snacking options around the parks and resorts, if you're looking for the best street treat at Disney World, there's one that reigns supreme: the Dole Whip.

What's Dole Whip? It's a pineapple-flavored soft-serve concoction that you can add pineapple juice to ... if you're smart. On a hot day, this refreshing treat (which starts at $5.99 for a cup) is perfection.

yacht club disney dining

At Disney World, you can get your Dole Whip just beyond the Magic Kingdom's Magic Carpets of Aladdin at Aloha Isle. You can also find Dole Whip in Disney's Animal Kingdom at Tamu Tamu Refreshments — adding a shot of alcohol to the treat is an option here — and at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort just behind the main building as you head toward the pool.

If you want to change things up, Disney sometimes has other flavors, including raspberry, strawberry, lime and mango. We're big fans of the coconut version, though you can never go wrong with the original.

yacht club disney dining

Gideon's Bakehouse cookies

If you're a cookie person, the hottest thing on the Disney block is the half-pound, freshly baked cookies from Gideon's Bakehouse in Disney Springs. These cookies are massive and decadent, and they come in a variety of craveable flavors.

yacht club disney dining

On the regular menu, you'll find the original chocolate chip cookie ($6), plus peanut butter crunch ($6), triple chocolate chip ($6) and a few other more exclusive, limited-time flavors that can, and do, sell out early in the day. A selection of cake slices, cookies dipped in chocolate and cold brews is also available (don't sleep on the Peanut Butter Cold Brew).

If you want one or more of these cookies (you can only purchase up to six at a time), plan on joining the virtual queue as soon as you get to Disney Springs by going to Gideon's and adding your number to the list. An hour or two of virtual waiting is usually required before you need to wait 10 to 20 minutes in a physical line to get your goodies. The cutoff to get in the virtual queue is sometimes a few hours before closing, so you'll want to join the line before 7 p.m. to have a good shot at cookie bliss.

If you ask us, the best food within Disney's Hollywood Studios' Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is undoubtedly a grab-and-go wrap from Ronto Roasters.

There are two versions of the tasty Ronto Wrap (both around $14), which features grilled pork sausage wrapped in a warm pita. The breakfast version (the superior option) adds eggs and cheese, while the original comes with peppercorn sauce, roasted pork and slaw. (Note that there's a vegan sausage option, too.)

yacht club disney dining

It isn't always open, but if you're hungry and see a line forming at the egg roll cart at the entrance to Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom, you'd be wise to join the queue.

Here, you can get two egg rolls in flavors such as pepperoni pizza, cheeseburger and buffalo chicken. That may sound a little weird, but each version tastes amazing. You'll pay $9.50 for your choice of two egg rolls.

yacht club disney dining

For adults, what could be better than an (air-conditioned) tequila cave? Sometimes, there is a bit of a wait, but at the end of La Cava del Tequila's line, you can get your pick of a variety of top-shelf margaritas, including our favorite, the avocado margarita, which is made with melon-orange liqueur, fresh avocado, lime juice, a hibiscus salt rim and, of course, tequila ($17.50 or $19.50 for a mezcal version).

If you want a snack to go with it, you can add some chips and guacamole, too.

yacht club disney dining

If you want the best beignets at Disney World, head to Scat Cat's Club — Cafe at Disney's Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter . It's the only place at Disney World where you can find Mickey-shaped beignets. These Mickey-shaped beignets are a very affordable and shareable snack, with three available for $8 or six for $11. Each order comes with one dipping sauce (salted caramel, strawberry or chicory chocolate ganache), but you can add additional flavors for 99 cents (so you might as well get all three).

Some specialty beignets are also available, such as the Baton Rouge Beignets ($12.49), which come with your choice of Baileys Irish Cream, Kahlua or RumChata.

Best Disney character dining experiences

Best character meal at the magic kingdom: cinderella's royal table.

This is an expensive meal, but it is well worth the high price tag, as you and your kids will get to dine in the castle with all their favorite Disney princesses.

Breakfast is the cheaper option here, costing $69 per adult and $42 per child. Lunch and dinner are a little more expensive, at $84 for adults and $49 for kids, but during these service times, you'll enjoy much better food selections, including a crab-topped catch of the day, a Castle Salad that combines romaine with Brussels sprouts, and dessert options such as a chocolate ganache tart with salted caramel-coffee mousse.

yacht club disney dining

Best character brunch with Mickey and Minnie: Topolino's Terrace — Flavors of the Riviera

Cinderella has a run for her slipper in the top spot because Topolino's Terrace offers an equally memorable character brunch at the top of Disney's Riviera Resort with top-notch service, delicious food and some pretty famous characters in unforgettable costumes. Plus, you don't have to pay park admission to dine here, and the views from the terrace are spectacular.

The breakfast at Topolino's Terrace features a pastry basket, juice, coffee and an entree from a menu geared toward adults or kids. For adults, the selection includes smoked salmon, avocado toast, sour cream waffles and a wild mushroom scramble, all of which cost $49 each. Meanwhile, kids 9 and younger can choose from $30 options such as fruit and yogurt, Mickey waffle dippers and scrambled eggs.

yacht club disney dining

The food is consistently tasty, but it's the characters that really set this dining experience apart. Minnie, Mickey, Daisy and Donald don their finest Mediterranean outfits and are introduced with music that is very fun and unique to this spot.

Best character brunch with some cool characters: 1900 Park Fare

If you ever wanted to have a meal and grant wishes with Princess Tiana from "The Princess and the Frog," Mirabel from "Encanto" and Prince Ali from "Aladdin," then the newly revamped 1900 Park Fare brunch at the Grand Floridian is the best Disney meal for you. Oh, and you'll find the lovely Cinderella there, too.

At a cost of $54 for adults and $34 for children, you'll get your pick from the buffet of the iconic Grand Floridian. Brunch options include strawberry soup, cheesy, potato casserole, beef and potato hash, bone-in ham, cinnamon pull-apart bread and various pastries.

yacht club disney dining

This might be an even better experience if you aren't a party of four that ends up in tables pretty close to each other, so I'd prioritize this when you're a party of six.

If dinner is more your style, it's not much more at $66 for adults and $41 for kids.

Best character meal at Epcot: Garden Grill Restaurant

Located in Epcot's Living with the Land Pavilion, the Garden Grill Restaurant doesn't look all that interesting or impressive at first glance. In fact, for years, we just walked right past it. However, now that we've tried it, we suggest giving it a shot, especially if you're after some relaxing time with classic characters.

Priced at $62 for adults and $40 for kids for lunch and dinner (or $47 for adults and $30 for kids for breakfast), the all-you-care-to-enjoy Chip 'n' Dale Harvest Feast features a family-style platter with options like barbecue chicken, seasonal veggies, grilled beef, salad, bread and macaroni and cheese. The restaurant physically rotates, and at times, you can see scenes from the Living with the Land ride, which is where some of the ingredients may have been grown.

While the food here is solid, the characters steal the show. As you dine at your booth, Chip, Dale, Mickey and Pluto make regular visits.

Best character meal for tweens and teens: Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White

One of the somewhat newer character meals at Disney World is also one of the best.

Found at Disney's Wilderness Lodge (meaning you don't need a park ticket to visit), the full three-course meal at Artist Point goes well beyond burgers and fries. Menu options include a shrimp cocktail starter, sustainably sourced fish with risotto and a truly amazing vegetarian dish with asparagus, leeks, arugula and gnocchi. Additionally, you'll have four included desserts to choose from, ranging from a "poison" apple to a cookies and cream panna cotta with chocolate gems.

The main draw, though, is the meet-and-greet with the Evil Queen herself. Keep your eyes peeled for Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, too, as they're known to wander around the dining room.

Most underrated all-you-care-to-enjoy meal

An underrated all-you-care-to-enjoy meal at Disney is found in the Magic Kingdom. If you're hungry and ready for a hearty meal, it's hard to beat Liberty Tree Tavern. You'll find this Colonial-style restaurant in the Magic Kingdom's Liberty Square.

On the menu is all-you-care-to-enjoy mixed green salad, roasted chicken, pot roast, mashed potatoes, seasonal veggies, stuffing, gooey toffee cake and more. Open for lunch and dinner at $42 for adults and $23 for children, it's a relative bargain by Disney standards compared to similar offerings.

Best outdoor meals at Disney

The boathouse.

A fantastic outdoor dining experience, this waterfront Disney Springs restaurant is an ideal spot to savor some fresh seafood.

Start your meal with the exceptional honey butter rolls (which are complimentary and worthy of the trip all on their own), then fill up on seafood dishes like crabcakes ($32.50), tuna poke ($19.75) and macaroni and cheese with shrimp and andouille ($25). If you're not into seafood, don't fret: The cheeseburger ($19) and Yacht Club club sandwich ($22), both of which come with tasty fries, are also hits.

Geyser Point Bar & Grill

Overlooking Bay Lake at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, the open-air Geyser Point lounge is a walk-in spot well worth visiting, even if there's a wait to get in.

Menu items range from chicken wings in a teriyaki glaze ($15) to a bison cheeseburger topped with bacon ($23). A mix of cocktails is available, too, should you wish to imbibe after a busy day in the parks.

Best dinner show at Disney World

Hoop-dee-doo musical revue.

If you like laugh-until-your-belly-hurts kind of fun, this is the restaurant for you. If the laughing doesn't make your belly ache, then the all-you-can-enjoy fried chicken and fixings will do the trick.

This dinner show at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is a Disney classic and a ton of fun for kids and adults, as long as you like singing along to American classics and laughing at corny jokes. The strawberry shortcake and bottomless sangria, wine and beer are additional reasons why you should check out this lively venue.

While prices vary depending on where you sit, expect to pay $66 to $74 per adult and $39 to $44 per child.

yacht club disney dining

Pro tip : If what you really want is your fix of the same fried chicken, cornbread and strawberry shortcake, you can get a full family meal deal that can feed up to four people for about $35 next door at Fort Wilderness at the Trail's End quick-service restaurant.

Honorable mention restaurants at Disney

Roundup rodeo bbq.

If you are at Disney's Hollywood Studios and need a serious protein refuel with a side of childhood nostalgia, there's one clear winner: Roundup Rodeo BBQ.

This is a newer Disney World restaurant that opened within Toy Story Land in the spring of 2023. It may not have character meet-and-greets or live entertainment (though there are voiceovers that occasionally yell that Andy is coming), but it's a cute addition to the park and serves a ton of mouthwatering food.

For $45 per adult and $25 per kid, you get an all-you-care-to-eat selection of meats, appetizers and desserts. On top of the beef brisket, smoked ribs, pork sausage and barbecue chicken that come standard with the meat platter, you have your choice of four can't-miss sides, such as macaroni and cheese, baked beans, loaded tater tots and fried pickles. As an added bonus, all tables get an order of homemade biscuits served with outrageously good sweet pepper jelly.

yacht club disney dining

Space 220 Restaurant

A newer addition to Epcot , Space 220 virtually transports diners 220 miles above Earth for a meal in "space."

While "dining in space," you can enjoy items like the Starry Calamari, the Galactic Miso Salmon, the Gemini Burger and the Spaceghetti & Shrimp, all of which are options within the multicourse, prix fixe menu that costs $55 at lunch and $79 at dinner for adults, and $29 for kids at lunch and $35 at dinner. Extras like sides, desserts and alcoholic beverages (all with space-appropriate names) are also available.

Although the food is solid (albeit pricey), the highlight of the experience is the feeling of blasting off and then dining above Earth. As you eat, you'll be able to spot ships and space tourists passing by the windows, an experience you won't get anywhere else at Disney World.

Pro tip : If you can't quite swing the high price or lack the time required for a multicourse meal, visit the lounge or bar to see if a walk-up spot or reservation is available. These high-demand options are a great way to get a taste of the experience for less.

yacht club disney dining

Yak & Yeti Restaurant

Yak & Yeti is a sit-down and quick-service venue in Disney's Animal Kingdom. The quick-service window offers a stripped-down version of the menu available inside.

Though Yak & Yeti isn't cheap, with main dishes starting around $22, the pan-Asian cuisine is quite good, making it one of our favorites at Animal Kingdom. The decor mimics what you'd expect to find while eating in a Nepalese market.

To keep your total check affordable, order one of the shareable plates like the ahi tuna nachos ($21.99). The portion size is plenty for two or more people.

Regal Eagle Smokehouse

Regal Eagle is a newer kid on Epcot's block.

Nestled within the American Adventure Pavilion in the space that previously housed the Liberty Inn, the eatery features a variety of barbecue plates and draft beers. However, unlike the barbecue spot in Toy Story Land, this option only offers a la carte items, which makes a meal cheaper and easier to share.

Purists hailing from barbecue meccas like Central Texas won't necessarily fall in love with the fare, but the barbecue is good and a solid value (especially by Disney standards) for families. Entrees such as the Kansas City Smoked Half-Chicken served with Texas Toast and a side of your choice clock in at less than $15.

yacht club disney dining

The Crystal Palace

On the way to Adventureland from Main Street, U.S.A., in the Magic Kingdom, this buffet restaurant offers good food and a few characters from the Hundred Acre Wood. Some even say the food at The Crystal Palace is better than what's available at Cinderella's Royal Table.

yacht club disney dining

During lunch and dinner, the buffet offers seasonal salads, fried chicken covered in gravy, shrimp Creole and a dessert platter. While alcoholic drinks cost extra, all the food is included in the set price of $61 per adult and $40 per child.

To save a little money, skip the lunch and dinner service in favor of breakfast, which costs $48 per adult and $30 per child. The morning buffet features numerous breakfast staples, including yogurt, eggs, pastries and Mickey waffles, but it's known for one very special dish that you can't find anywhere else at Disney World: churro Mickey waffles. These waffles are covered in a crisp cinnamon-and-sugar coating that will have you making multiple return trips to the buffet.

While you dine, Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and Eyeore will visit your table for photos, hugs and autographs. You'll also receive a postcard with all of their signatures to take home with you.

Oga's Cantina

Oga's Cantina, the "Star Wars"-themed bar inside Disney's Hollywood Studios' Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, is really light on actual food items, and the drinks are all premade. However, the experience is so over-the-top and unique that we had to include it on this list.

You're not really here for the food or even the quality of the drinks. Instead, you come to see DJ R-3X spin tunes and interact with the bartenders, who are in full costume and character. The vibe will turn even the most anti-"Star Wars" person into a smiling participant.

Make a reservation if you want to visit, even if just for a drink, as this spot gets very busy. Try the Fuzzy Tauntaun ($18.50) for a fun sensation.

yacht club disney dining

Trader Sam's Grog Grotto

Speaking of themed Disney World bars that are worth a visit, we have to mention Trader Sam's Grog Grotto at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.

yacht club disney dining

There are some food options here, such as Thai chicken flatbread, dumplings and sushi rolls, but the star here is the drinks ... and more accurately, the drinks that cause rain, fire, lava and angry tiki gods. Kids are permitted until 8 p.m., but you'll want to get on the waitlist way before then, as it can take a few hours to get in.

If you want to breathe some life into the tiki bar, we recommend the shareable tropical Nautilus with mango rum; the also shareable Uh-Oa with plantation dark rum, lime, guava, pineapple and a host of other flavors; and the Zombie.

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant

Cool and atmospheric, this restaurant is on a less-traveled walkway in Disney's Hollywood Studios. You can dine in your own "car" while watching old movies. Better yet, let your kids have their own car so you can eat in relative peace.

The menu is a la carte, ranging from hamburgers to pasta to salads. It's fairly easy to stay on a budget here, especially if you share, as each entree costs $19 to $30.

The old movie clips shown aren't likely to hold your kids' attention, and the food isn't always the star of the show, but it's still a cool experience to try at least once, especially given how much the cast members really get into their roles.

yacht club disney dining

Rose & Crown Dining Room

This Epcot take on British fare serves as a convenient spot to enjoy an authentic plate of fish and chips ($28) or bangers and mash ($25) without hopping across the pond.

If you can't or don't want to sit down, there's a to-go counter next to Rose & Crown that's often open to serve the classics to those on the run. But if you aren't in a hurry, make a reservation at Rose & Crown and enjoy the ambience while noshing on pub grub.

yacht club disney dining

California Grill

If you want an upscale Disney dinner that's not quite as fancy (or expensive) as Victoria & Albert's, try California Grill.

The check-in desk is on the second floor of Disney's Contemporary Resort , but the actual dining room resides on the 15th floor. This elevated location — which enforces a dress code, though not as strict as Victoria & Albert's — gives patrons phenomenal views of the sunset and nightly fireworks at the Magic Kingdom and surrounding resorts.

yacht club disney dining

California Grill offers a multicourse dining experience that costs $89 for adults and $39 for kids. Expect fresh foods inspired by the Pacific coast, such as sushi and sashimi, goat cheese ravioli, oak-fired beef and ahi tuna, on the menu.

Steakhouse 71

Steakhouse 71 is found inside the Contemporary Resort. This restaurant, which replaced The Wave a few years ago, ties its menu and stories back to the roots of Walt Disney and the opening of Disney World in 1971.

Menu standouts here are the sea salt-dusted potato brioche ($12), the Stack Burger with elevated touches such as lemon aioli and a brioche bun ($23), the Vegetable "Wellington" ($26) and the signature chocolate cake that has 16 layers to match the 16 floors of the Contemporary ($13).

Narcoossee's

Recently redone as part of the broader renovation of the Grand Floridian, Narcoosee's is a standout Disney World restaurant for a dinner that is both outside the park and not arranged as a set-price meal.

The really solid menu focuses on Southern coastal dishes, such as shrimp and grits ($19), gulf shrimp bucatini ($42), sweet-and-sour Brussels sprouts with applewood bacon ($11) and an outstanding bread basket. The outside terrace that runs along the water is a prime spot to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks.

yacht club disney dining

Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya

While not the best restaurant at Disney, Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya is one of the newest restaurants at Disney World. It's in the Japan Pavilion in Epcot and largely staffed by a crew from Japan. What's great about this option is that it feels somewhat authentic without locking you into a pricey set menu the way you'd find at nearby Takumi-Tei. Here, you can stop by for lunch or dinner and order as little as one roll if you want.

yacht club disney dining

This restaurant takes you through various seasons of the year, and while the sushi on my visit was just OK, the service was very good.

Being able to pop in for a proper sit-down meal and share an affordable (for Disney) item or two on a menu that goes beyond traditional options is not the worst idea. In addition to a variety of rolls and sushi options, there are choices such as a Temaki Sushi Set that lets you create your own hand-rolled sushi with a variety of proteins and fillings ($32) and pan-fried, grilled wagyu gyoza dumplings ($20 for three).

Our least-favorite Disney World meals

Even with all the magical pixie dust at Disney World, there are misfires. While all of these may have their followings, for us, the food is either too common or bland, too off-the-beaten-path or just too overrun.

  • Akershus Royal Banquet Hall : Character dining is a big part of the Disney experience. You might think you can save a few dollars by dining with the princesses at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot instead of at Cinderella's Royal Table, but it's a poor substitute (unless you need a bite near the "Frozen" ride in Norway). Although your favorite princesses will join you for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the food just isn't on par with the other Disney eateries, and the types of cuisine may not be a hit with U.S.-centric families. That said, it's an easier reservation to snag than Cinderella's Royal Table, so keep it in your back pocket if you need a last-minute princess meal.
  • Teppan Edo : This spot in the Japan Pavilion at Epcot is another letdown, especially compared to the spectacular Takumi-Tei. The food here is decent, but there's not a lot of performance factor at this teppanyaki place. Frankly, we've seen better performances at a more reasonable price point in teppanyaki restaurants in strip malls closer to home. At Disney prices, there are better values for your hard-earned dollars, with themes you can't easily recreate elsewhere.
  • Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe : With a few exceptions, it's hard to find great food in the Magic Kingdom, but you should avoid the worst of the worst, which has recently been Pecos Bill. The quick-service menu looks interesting, with a mix of rice bowls, nachos, fajitas and burgers, but in the end, the service can be curt and the food a bit disappointing (and borderline inedible).
  • Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe : Another Magic Kingdom misfire is Cosmic Ray's. The menu is very limited to theme park staples such as chicken fingers, burgers and fries, which would be OK, in theory, if that's what you were after. In practice, Cosmic Rays can get very crowded and run behind with orders ... all for an average plate of stereotypical American fare. If you must eat here during peak times, mobile order well in advance.
  • Tony's Town Square : Not to intentionally pile it on against the Magic Kingdom venues, but Tony's Town Square is another one in the park that we don't really recommend. It's not that it's bad necessarily, it's just probably not worth your time or money to spend $27 on pretty basic spaghetti and meatballs or $28 on fettuccine alfredo that isn't really any better than what you'd have at Olive Garden. And while this is certainly a personal preference, we find the atmosphere a little tacky, too, with the fake flowers and tiny water fountain.

yacht club disney dining

Our previous favorite Disney World meal that has fallen off the favorites list

For years, Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort was one of our favorite all-you-care-to-enjoy meals at Disney World. On the dinner menu here ($62 for adults, $40 for kids) are Hawaiian-inspired specialties such as Ohana noodles, salad, peel-and-eat shrimp, pot stickers and bread pudding with ice cream, to name a few. It's a lot of food, so you absolutely will not leave here hungry.

While we still enjoy a lot of the food, the last few times we visited Ohana, the service felt rushed and many of the tables were pretty crammed next to each other. It no longer felt as much like a special experience as it used to. So, given the price point, we are sadly taking Ohana off our best restaurants at Disney list ... at least, for now.

Pro tip : If you want some of the Ohana vibe and food without the whole meal, you can get the noodles, pot stickers and bread pudding a la carte next to the restaurant at Tambu Lounge in the evenings.

Disney World dining tips

  • Make your reservations well in advance, starting up to 60 days before your trip begins. You can cancel or modify it if you change your mind, but it's good to have the option of being waited on in air conditioning. Services like Mouse Dining can help you monitor availability if you don't want to constantly look for a spot at one of your favorites.
  • Book your Disney trip via an agent that specializes in Disney , such as our partners at Mouse Counselors , to get some professional help with snagging those hard-to-get dining reservations.
  • When ordering from a counter-service restaurant, do so via the My Disney Experience app to avoid wasting time in line waiting to order.
  • To rack up extra points, you can charge Disney meals to your room (using the app or your MagicBands ) and then earn a bonus on all your in-park meals by paying at resort checkout with a card that gives you a bonus on travel . Paying with Disney gift cards you purchased at a discount is another great way to save a bit while dining at some of Disney World's best restaurants.
  • If you have an annual pass , you can often save 10% at sit-down restaurants, so don't forget to ask about the discount.
  • If you pay for your Disney meal on the spot with a card, use one that gives you the best payout on dining. Most Disney World restaurants do code as dining charges, even within the parks. This means you can earn 4 points per dollar spent on dining at restaurants with the American Express® Gold Card or 3 points per dollar spent on dining with the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card , among other cards that are the best for dining .

Maverick breaks Race to Mackinac record

Other race news.

  • Press Releases
  • From the Mac Chairman

Posted Jul 14, 2024

CHICAGO, July 14, 2024 – Sanford Burris, William and Ward Kinney’s Maverick team will be etched in Mac Race history as the new race record holder for the fastest Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac presented by Wintrust in 22 years, earning the honor from Roy E. Disney and Pyewacket .

Maverick also claimed this year’s Royono Trophy for the first racing monohull to finish the 115th edition. This year’s southerly winds and overnight storms created the perfect conditions for an incredible downwind race, which they completed in 22 hours, 24 minutes, 23 seconds, breaking Pyewacket’s record by one hour, six minutes, 11 seconds.

“I will tell you from my perspective, I wish the record had lasted longer, but these things are inevitable,” said Roy P. Disney, Roy E. Disney's son, upon hearing the news. “Given how long it took to break that record shows how difficult a course it is, and what a classic sailboat race it is! Many congratulations to the owner, the crew and the boat, Maverick .”

Burris, from Kirtland, Ohio, sails with his sons and many longtime friends on the carbon fiber Andrews 80 they have spent the past three years upgrading. Joining the 20 crew onboard is Evolution Sails founder Rodney Keenan.

The team celebrated briefly as the Maverick team crossed the Race to Mackinac finish line between Mackinac Island and the Round Island lighthouse … and then kept on sailing.

Maverick is one of 25 sailboats competing in this year’s “Super Mac” race, a combination of the Chicago Mackinac and the Bayview Mackinac races, which means they will continue into Lake Huron, heading south to Port Huron for a total of 565 statute miles (495 nautical miles).

yacht club disney dining

What does it take to break the Race to Mackinac record?

Many factors need to align for record-setting conditions, especially over a 333 statute-mile (289 nautical-mile) race that is well known for multiple weather patterns in a short time span. This has earned the race its moniker as “America’s Offshore Challenge.”

“Most important is a southerly wind direction and strength, combined with advancements in boats and sails,” said Winn Soldani, chair for the 115th Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac presented by Wintrust. “Plus you add in last night’s storms that brought increased breeze and it’s literally the perfect setup for a record-breaking year.

“On behalf of the Chicago Yacht Club, we congratulate the Maverick team for an incredible accomplishment.”

This year, the Race put a special emphasis on encouraging and attracting new boats and sailors. Across the 250-strong fleet, 26 new entries (10 percent) and more than 380 sailors (20 percent) are experiencing their first Mac. The Mac Race, known as America’s Offshore Challenge™, begins in front of Chicago’s magnificent skyline and finishes 289 nautical miles (333 statute miles) north on Lake Michigan and Lake Huron, at Michigan’s iconic Mackinac Island.

Next year, the Chicago Yacht Club celebrates its 150-year anniversary.

The best pools at Walt Disney World

A sk a returning family about their trip to Walt Disney World, and you might hear the common refrain: "My kids just wanted to swim in the pool the whole time!"

It's tough to top the nostalgic appeal of classic rides like Peter Pan's Flight and Haunted Mansion, the high-speed thrills of Expedition Everest and Tron Lightcycle Run, and the draw of Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park and Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, but the kids are onto something.

Tucked away from the bustling parks are some of the most meticulously themed and immersive pools you'll find anywhere. Walt Disney World's resort pools aren't just a place to cool off. They offer an experience that, for some, can rival the theme parks.

If you already know your itinerary will include some serious pool time, this guide to the best pools at Walt Disney World will help you pick the perfect pool for your trip.

What to know about the Walt Disney World pools

Every Walt Disney World hotel has at least one pool, with most of the larger, more sprawling resorts boasting three or more. Each resort's main pool, known as the feature pool, will be the most elaborate, with increasingly impressive theming and features as you go up the pricing ladder across Disney's three hotel tiers — Value, Moderate and Deluxe.

The feature pool will also have a pool bar and quick-service food options nearby. At Moderate and Deluxe resorts, you'll also find a waterslide and kids splash areas. Value resorts have large feature pools but no waterslides or hot tubs.

Daily recreation activities take place at the feature pool, typically in the afternoons. Recreation hosts will lead games for kids, sometimes with small take-home trinkets as prizes and Disney trivia everyone can join in on.

The feature pool is also where you'll find the biggest crowds and most noise. So, if you prefer to lounge quietly with a good book, you may want to seek out a leisure pool, sometimes referred to as a "quiet" pool.

Walt Disney World pools are heated to 82 degrees year-round, though the water can be warmer in the summer thanks to the blazing Central Florida sun. Complimentary towels and life jackets are available at all pools. Lifeguard availability and pool hours vary by pool.

Best Disney World pool for families

Many of Walt Disney World's resorts are destination-worthy even without the addition of the nearby theme parks, perhaps none more so than Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge .

More than 200 different animals, including zebras and giraffes, roam numerous savannas. The Africa-themed resort is also home to two fantastic feature pools, one at each of the resort's two hotels, Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas — Jambo House and Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas — Kidani Village.

At Jambo House, the 11,000-square-foot Uzima Springs Pool features a zero-depth entry and 67-foot-long waterslide and has a maximum depth of 4 feet and 9 inches. There's also a wading pool for kids and two hot tubs. The resort's main quick-service dining location, The Mara, is just steps from the pool gate, and the Uzima Pool Bar is a full bar serving cocktails, beers on tap, frozen drinks and more.

Uzima Springs is an excellent pool, but it's Kidani Village's Samawati Springs Pool that makes this resort our pick for the best pool for families.

The 4,700-square-foot, 118,138-gallon pool offers something for every preference. It has a zero-depth entry point that's great for kiddos, two hot tubs for those looking to relax, and one of Disney World's most thrilling hotel waterslides, 128 feet long and fast, for swimmers looking for excitement. A second, much smaller waterslide with a pool depth of 3 feet and 6 inches at the base lets young kiddos in on the slide fun, too.

Another big draw for younger kids here is the Uwanja Camp water playground. Themed after an animal observation site, the play area includes three zones — Observation Station, Departure Zone and Base Camp. Each is designed for different ages, from 4 and under to 8 and up (though we've never seen older or younger kids excluded from any of the areas at this resort). The area offers a good amount of shade, water features like cannons and spitting cartoonish snakes, and spots to climb and slide.

Dining options are less extensive near this pool than at Uzima Springs, but the Maji Pool Bar serves a range of foods from hot dogs and soft pretzels to tandoori chicken and spiced pork nachos. You can also order to-go from Sanaa, Kidani Village's excellent table-service restaurant.

Best Disney World pool at a Value resort

Disney's Art of Animation Resort is home to the best Disney World pools at a Value resort.

However, rooms here are consistently the most expensive in the Value tier, so be aware of the trade-off. The "Finding Nemo"-inspired Big Blue Pool is the largest hotel pool at Walt Disney World and features giant, colorful characters from the film. The 308,527-gallon pool is zero-entry with a maximum depth of 4 feet and 11 inches.

Next to the Big Blue Pool, Schoolyard Sprayground is a spacious splash zone surrounded by more of Nemo's friends. Also nearby, Squirt's Righteous Reef offers kids a dry playground option.

When hunger strikes, the Drop Off Pool Bar serves basics like simple sandwiches, soft pretzels and frozen treats. For a more extensive selection, the resort's food court is a short walk away.

For a quieter pool nearby, head to the Cozy Cone Pool in the "Cars"-themed area of the resort, which features life-size models of favorite "Cars" characters. The pool is surrounded by Cozy Cone cabanas (first come, first served) that provide a shaded spot perfect for families with younger kids needing a nap or break from the sun while bigger kids play.

Fans of Disney's "The Little Mermaid" may want to head to the resort's third pool, the Flippin' Fins Pool.

Best Disney World pool at a Moderate resort

Aspiring swashbucklers can live out their pirate dreams at the Fuentes del Morro Pool at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort , our pick for the best pool at a Moderate resort. Designed to transport guests to a colonial Spanish fortress, this zero-entry pool has two waterslides, with the biggest stretching 102 feet and huge water cannons that give major "Pirates of the Caribbean" vibes.

Kids 48 inches or shorter can get extra pirate play in at the Fuentes del Morro Water Play Area, a kids' splash area with a pirate ship and mini slides. A 12-person hot tub offers plenty of room for relaxation, as do the resort's whopping five additional leisure pools.

At Old Port Royale, the pool is right across from Banana Cabana, the pool bar and lounge serving specialty frozen tropical drinks and Caribbean-inspired fare like coconut shrimp and jerk chicken wings. For even more dining options, Centertown Market, the resort's main quick-service location, is right next door.

Know before you go: The Fuentes del Morro Pool will be closed for routine maintenance from January to late March 2024. Guests are advised to use the resort's five leisure pools during this time.

Best Disney World pool at a Deluxe resort

The runaway favorite pool across all of Walt Disney World, Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht Club and Beach Club resorts is more like a mini water park.

Spanning three acres with a total of 795,000 gallons of water, the complex features a variety of pools, including a sand-bottomed pool, a 230-foot-long shipwreck-themed waterslide, a lazy river, three hot tubs and a sandbar where kids can play. The small Shipwreck Pool at the entry point of the massive waterslide also has a smaller waterslide for younger kids.

There's no arguing that Stormalong Bay offers endless aquatic entertainment. However, it can be a stressful pool option for families managing multiple children of varying abilities, and this is why Stormalong Bay isn't always our top pick for younger families. Some pools begin with a zero-entry point and reach depths of 4 feet to 5 feet, and the lazy river ranges from 6 feet to 8 feet in depth. The pool deck can get very crowded, and different areas of the deck are connected by sometimes narrow walkways and bridges, making the complex feel like a maze when you're trying to get from point A to point B quickly.

Additionally, the Shipwreck Pool and entrance to the large waterslide, which is called The Flying Jib, are outside the gated pool complex and across a wide public walkway accessible to guests not staying at the resort, so some parents may not feel comfortable letting kids go back and forth from the pool area to the waterslide alone.

But for endless aquatic entertainment, nothing beats Stormalong Bay.

The pool complex is also surrounded by top-notch dining options available to enjoy poolside. The pool bar, Hurricane Hanna's, serves a reliable lineup of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and frozen drinks, but there are also numerous dining options nearby that serve food to go, including Ale & Compass Restaurant and the Yacht Club's and Beach Club's quick-service locations, each with different menus.

For a fun table-service lunch or dinner break from the pool, make a reservation at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop, an old-fashioned diner serving up a classic menu of burgers and fries, chili-cheese tots and more, along with malted milkshakes and monstrous sundaes for dessert.

Know before you go: Stormalong Bay and the Shipwreck Pool will be closed from January through May 2025 for routine maintenance. Guests are advised to use the resort's three leisure pools during this time, so be sure to avoid this stretch if you want to visit Stormalong Bay.

Best Disney World pool for adults

For adults looking to escape the noise and splashes of a chaotic feature pool, the many leisure pools at Walt Disney World resorts offer great alternatives. However, some of them can be somewhat secluded and out of the way of dining options. If you want a relaxing pool experience but don't want to be too far from the action, we have two picks for the best pool for adults.

Our first choice is the Beau Soleil Pool at Disney's Riviera Resort . This leisure pool feels quiet and secluded once you pass through the gates, but it's also right next to the resort's beautiful activity lawn and steps from the Bar Riva pool bar and Primo Piatto quick-service restaurant.

Bar Riva is one of the most beautiful open-air lounges at Walt Disney World and offers an elegant spot to take a break from the pool for Mediterranean fare and drinks. We recommend the mushroom arancini and a glass of Provence frose.

Also, unlike many other leisure pools that sometimes attract families because they offer a closer option than the resort's feature pool, Riviera's impressive main pool, which includes an excellent splash pad for kids, is just across the lawn.

Our other favorite pool for adults is the Oasis Pool at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort .

As the resort's leisure pool, the Oasis Pool tends to attract a more grown-up crowd than the nearby Lava Pool with its enticing volcano, waterfall, kids play area and 142-foot waterslide. The Oasis Pool also has its own pool bar, the Oasis Bar & Grill, so you don't have to leave the pool area to enjoy dishes like wonton chips and fish tacos, specialty cocktails, beer, soft drinks and more.

Best Disney World pool splurge

For the most luxurious poolside experience, private poolside cabanas are available for daily rental at three of Walt Disney World's Deluxe resorts: Disney's Contemporary Resort , Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney's Yacht Club and Beach Club resorts .

These private, shaded spaces accommodate up to six guests and come equipped with plush furniture, ceiling fans and varying entertainment options like Bluetooth speakers, TVs and charging stations.

Complimentary refreshments, including fresh fruit, soda and water, are also provided, as well as sunscreen and skincare products and a safe. Booking is only open to guests of each respective resort. Pricing starts at $350, and amenities and services, like cocktail service to the cabana, vary slightly by resort. Book by calling 407-939-7529.

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort also offers a lower-priced option that still provides shade and privacy. Oasis Patios are at the resort's Oasis leisure pool and accommodate up to six guests with a dedicated shaded spot near the pool, furnished with cushioned lounge chairs and plush towels. Oasis Patios start at just over $100 and are available first come, first served or by advance reservation by calling 407-939-7529.

Best Disney World hot tubs

At the height of summer in Central Florida, a hot tub might not top your list of ways to relax on your Walt Disney World vacation, but temperatures can really dip during the winter and in the evenings at certain times of the year. All Moderate and Deluxe resorts have hot tubs, but some rise above the rest.

One of the prettiest hot tubs with the best views is at the Lava Pool at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. It has an infinity edge and offers views of Seven Seas Lagoon and even the fireworks over Cinderella Castle in the evenings. Be warned, this hot tub is definitely not a well-kept secret — it can get quite crowded, especially in the evenings.

For more room, The Dig Site, the expansive pool complex at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, is home to Walt Disney World's largest hot tub, accommodating up to 22 people.

For a more secluded soak, Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge hot tubs are tucked away in spots slightly separated from the hustle and bustle of the main pools.

And if you're looking for a serious splurge, you can have your own hot tub if you book one of the Copper Creek cabins .

Best Disney World splash pads

Kids love a water playground, and parents love a break from keeping kids entertained in the pool. These top water play areas are so good the hardest part for parents may be getting kids to leave.

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

Situated next to the Lava Pool, the Polynesian's water playground for kids under 48 inches is one of Walt Disney World's most elaborate.

Water features throughout the multilevel structure include spitting tikis, spraying spouts, erupting water geysers, two mini slides and plenty of stairs to climb and bridges to cross to keep kids busy. Just beware if you have kids on either side of the 48-inch maximum height restriction — this is one time older siblings could find themselves wishing they hadn't hit that height marker yet.

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

This "Alice in Wonderland"-themed splash pad includes mini waterslides, sprinklers and water spouts. Overhead, the Mad Hatter's hat and a giant teapot periodically fill with water then soak everyone in striking distance. Within minutes, your kids will be saying, "We're all wet here."

Disney's Riviera Resort

Reminiscent of Europe's majestic public fountains, S'il Vous Play is a beautiful "Fantasia"-themed water play area with two waterslides and lots of interactive water features.

Best Disney World waterslide

The Luna Park Pool at Disney's BoardWalk Inn is a whimsical homage to the amusement park attractions found along the turn-of-the-century boardwalks in places like Atlantic City and Coney Island. The piece de resistance is the 200-foot waterslide, which resembles a classic wooden roller coaster. The pool bar, Leaping Horse Libations, looks like a carousel, adding to the classic theme park feel of the pool area.

The huge Keister Coaster waterslide used to be known for the iconically creepy giant clown head at its base. Sadly (for those of us who love the BoardWalk's quirky theming), the clown was removed in 2020 and replaced with two-dimensional artwork of Mickey and friends.

The slide remains at the top of the list, though. Although Stormalong Bay's Flying Jib slide is slightly longer, we prefer the Keister Coaster for ease of re-riding without having to leave the pool complex. For the same reason, parents will also find it much easier to keep an eye on kiddos here.

Disney fans divided when theme park guests leave dog in car.

Posted by: Krysten Swensen July 18, 2024

Two images of a parked car in a parking garage at Disney Parks. The first image shows several cars and a column with a sign indicating "57C." The second image shows the front seat of a car with a sign taped to the window that reads, "Don't worry, the dog made it out in 2022.

The summer months are typically very busy ones at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. Families from all over the world travel to Central Florida and Southern California to spend time with Mickey Mouse and Friends, ride exciting attractions, eat delicious food, and splurge on must-have merchandise.

However, there is a BIG downside to traveling to Disneyland and Disney World in the summer — the extreme heat . It is extremely important for guests to stay hydrated, take plenty of breaks, and get in the shade whenever possible.

An older man and two children, all wearing Mickey Mouse ear hats, sit on a wooden bench outdoors. The older man and the child nearest to him are smiling at each other, while the second child gazes away into the distance. The background is filled with greenery and sunlight.

Now, we live in an age where a lot of people take their pets everywhere, and that even includes Disney. But what do you do with your dog while you are in the parks? Sadly, some guests have taken to leaving their four-legged friends in their cars , sometimes for hours at a time. This is becoming even more of a problem at Disneyland, where many of the guests are locals.

One guest set off a storm of debate when she and her boyfriend noticed that a dog had been left in a car at Disneyland’s Mickey & Friends parking garage.

Jennifer Mendez was visiting The Happiest Place on Earth with her boyfriend and two-year-old daughter when she noticed that a dog had been left in a car. There was a note on the window saying that the dog was fine and the temperature in the car was set at 72 degrees. However, it still did not sit right with her.

A Facebook post by Jennifer Mendez shows a photo of a dog left in a car at the Pixar Pal parking structure at Disneyland. The post criticizes leaving the dog inside, regardless of temperature management, calling it cruel.

Credit: Jennifer Mendez Facebook

Jennifer’s post set off a flurry of debate, but the moderators removed it before things got too heated.

There were a lot of people who did not think that a dog should be left in the car while its owners went into the theme parks. They worried about something happening to the car and the air conditioning shutting off. They encouraged Jennifer to contact Disney security . She said that she did, but they told her that they couldn’t do anything because the dog did not appear to be in distress.

However, many people defended the owner, pointing out that the car the dog was left in was a Tesla . Teslas come with a setting called Dog Mode. That allows the owner to set the car to a certain temperature, and it will remain at that temperature as long as the battery is charged more than 20%. When the battery drops below a 20% charge, the owner will receive a notification.

They believed that the dog was perfectly safe and noted that it was not in any distress. Based on the original post and comments made before the post was taken down, it appeared that the dog was in the car for at least an hour. But we do not know when the car arrived or when the guests came back.

Taking Your Dog to Disney

Disney knows that guests don’t always like to leave their pets behind when they go on vacation. So, for years, Disneyland and Disney World guests were able to drop their pups off at a Disney kennel, where they would be walked, given a treat, played with, and allowed to relax in giant air-conditioned rooms.

Sadly, Disney shut down the Disneyland Kennel Club when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020 and did not reopen it when the parks reopened a year later. This has frustrated many guests, since Disney has not given a reason for keeping it closed. With so many locals visiting the parks, it would seem like a good idea to give them a safe place to leave their dogs while they enjoy the parks.

Walt Disney World Resort, on the other hand, does still have its Best Friends Pet Care available to guests. The pet resort will keep your dog for the day, or even overnight, for the length of your stay. They offer different services, including grooming and bedtime stories.

A Disney cast member plays with dogs at Disney World's Best Friend Pet Care

There are even several hotels on property that are dog-friendly. Guests who need a dog-friendly hotel so their pooch can stay with them can choose from Disney’s Art of Animation , Port Orleans – Riverside, the Yacht Club, or the Cabins at Fort Wilderness.

Recently, four puppies had to be rescued from a hot car that was parked in a Disney Springs Parking Garage while the owners went to eat at a restaurant. Sadly, only three of the puppies survived . The owner blamed Disney’s slow service for leaving the puppies alone for so long. He has left the country, but Orlando prosecutors are working on getting him extradited to face charges of animal cruelty.

Do you think guests should bring their pets to Disney and leave them in the car with the air conditioning running? Let us know in the comments!

Most recent, news and review: moscow mule mocktail float at sprinkles in disney springs in july.

By AJ and the DFB Team Leave a Comment

You guys! Run! Run to Sprinkles right now!

Because in addition to selling awesome Cupcakes  and Frosting Shots and Cookie/Brownie Ice Cream Sandwiches , for the month of July, Sprinkles is also serving up truly refreshing Moscow Mule Mocktail Floats !

That’s right. We’ve all come to know and love Sprinkles in Disney Springs, with its cheerful decor and hyper-cool Cupcake ATM . But we’ve discovered that it’s so much more than a sunny place to grab a cupcake.

In fact, we’ve devoured just about everything on the menu with reckless abandon, stopping in to see what’s new in the dessert case and on the menu every chance we get. Because Sprinkles is always cooking up (or churning out!) something new and interesting. Back in May, they offered a Margarita Cupcake , which we thoroughly enjoyed.

So when we saw that they were offering Moscow Mule Mocktail Floats , we ordered one STAT!
