MAJESTY 100

MAJESTY 100 is a 31.7 m Motor Yacht, built in the United Arab Emirates by Gulf Craft and delivered in 2023. She is one of 18 Majesty 100 models.

Her top speed is 20.0 kn, her cruising speed is 16.7 kn, and she boasts a maximum cruising range of 1500.0 nm at 12.0 kn, with power coming from two MAN diesel engines. She can accommodate up to 10 guests in 5 staterooms, with 4 crew members waiting on their every need. She has a gross tonnage of 194.0 GT and a 7.13 m beam.

She was designed by Gulf Craft , who also completed the naval architecture and designed the interior. Gulf Craft has designed 81 yachts, created the naval architecture for 74 yachts, and designed the interior of 63 yachts for yachts above 24 metres.

MAJESTY 100 is one of 2102 motor yachts in the 30-35m size range, and, compared to similarly sized motor yachts, her volume is 7.51 GT above the average.

Majesty 100 Review: Crowning Achievement

Majesty 100 offers 23-knots top speed, wonderful exterior and interior spaces, plus a fabulously unique sky-lounge to top it off, is this latest superyacht from the Gulf powerhouse their crowning achievement?

First revealed at the Dubai International Boat Show in March of last year, the first unit of the all new 100 from Majesty Superyachts is the flagship brand of Gulf Craft. Before the delivery to his owner, we were provided with not only an overview of the project, but also a sense of context, in a review of the local market by the shipyard’s CEO, Erwin Bamps.

Majesty 100 is perfect for entry-level superyacht owners

The new Majesty 100 encapsulates the expertise and experience Gulf Craft has garnered over 35-years of yacht building and demonstrates the yard’s dedication to a constant program of optimization in quality and design. Turning to the Majesty 100, which was the talk of the show during her debut, Bamps attributes this to the fresh strong aesthetics and the design, its place in a popular sector of the market and the flexibility inherent in the package they have created.

‘Because of her practical, yet powerful, attributes in both engineering and design, the Majesty 100 is perfect for entry-level superyacht owners,’ said shipyard’s CEO, ‘whether they are looking for a waterfront retreat or an oceangoing adventure. Its delivery marks an exciting new phase in the model’s milestone, and we’re thrilled to see our team’s efforts come to fruition.’

At the dock the Majesty 100 exudes an imposing presence, with her high bow tracing back amidships to enclose the on-deck owner’s staterooms that make full use of the 7.1m beam. The edgy flowing facets of the angular exterior lines lend a dynamic appeal to the Majesty 100’s exterior, while the high vantage point of the forward social area will no doubt make it a popular spot both while enjoying a cooling breeze at anchor or in the cauldron of an F1-encircled marina.

Even from the exterior we can see the captain enjoys the benefits of a raised pilothouse, suggesting an efficient interior arrangement, and the wraparound glazing that protects the forward section of the upper deck certainly demanded further investigation, duly enticing us onboard where we headed directly up to the sundeck. The Majesty 100 is the first in Majesty Yacht’s collection to have a partially enclosed flybridge, allowing guests sitting within its spacious sky-lounge area to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views. It’s as though one is seated on a traditional flybridge, but with the added luxury and comfort offered by indoor living. Views forward from such a salon are rare and so spectacular it makes us wonder why more designers don’t employ this touch, while aft the interior space flows seamlessly into the aft terrace.

One doesn’t have to head outside for fresh air however, as simply sliding down the glass panels and opening the folding doors fully; the salon converts into an indoor-outdoor lounge space. It’s certainly a suitably crowning achievement for a yacht that carries ‘majesty’ in its name. Descending, we drop into the raised wheelhouse, characterized by its 270-degree vertical glass panels that is yet another first for Gulf Craft, the captain of the Majesty 100 enjoys unobstructed views of the surrounding seascapes. Here the master commands the power supplied by two 1,900 hp MAN engines, enabling the Majesty 100 to achieve an impressive maximum speed of 23-knots. Here Bamps points out the shipyard’s vast experience in literally thousands of craft delivered. ‘This is obviously not just apparent in the top speed, but also in an extensive range in excess of 1,500-miles when operating at displacement speeds.’

Gulf Craft dedication

Bamps also points out that the shipyard elected to fit the Majesty 100 with a V-drive propulsion system, therefore locating the engines further aft than is traditional. Keen to see how this translated to increasing the space available for guest accommodation on the lower deck, we continued our tour. Moving first to the main deck we found sweeping floor-to-ceiling windows that allow natural light to flood through the main salon. The layout follows the traditional tried-and-tested format with a lounge area aft and dining forward, served by a galley to port and starboard guest lobby. In the forward master staterooms the abundance of lights and views that pour in through the lateral glazing highlights the clean contemporary nature of the interior design. The traditional forward facing double berth face the en-suite that makes full use of the space available, and dressed with premium marble countertops and high-end fixtures and fittings, there’s no doubting Gulf Craft’s dedication to supplying their prestigious clientele with the best available. The fit and finish is testament to the shipyard’s strict ongoing quality control program, while the grain matching in both the stone and woodwork signifies attention to detail.

Down below we find the guest accommodation does indeed benefit from the choice of propulsion system, with the generous volumes of the en-suite cabins belying the 104’ overall length of the yacht. Guest entertainment is well taken care of with a high-end AV-package that includes Bang & Olufsen speakers, ensuring a crisp and rich quality soundtrack to the movies, TV shows and music selected from the yacht’s main server.

A truly royal yachting experience

Offering accommodation for twelve guests-spread over five en-suite guest rooms and the master suite-expansive interior and exterior entertainment spaces, plus a shallow draft of just 1.70 m, the Majesty 100 would certainly make an attractive proposition on both the Med and Caribbean charter markets. Ending our tour in the cockpit, Bamps has saved one last surprise for us: two hydraulic extendable balconies fixed on both ends of the aft-seating area offer passengers an extended cockpit space and uninterrupted views to the horizon. It’s all very much in keeping with the current trend for placing the in the centre of their surrounding environment. Her we settle for a moment and talk over some of the additional engineering features Gulf Craft have incorporated, like the fin stabilizers and the proprietary tender launch/recovery system that Gulf Craft designed and engineered entirely in-house. With this yacht Gulf Craft have incorporated ample interior and exterior areas for relaxation, with one often flowing directly into the other. The flybridge is certain this model’s piece de resistance, offering a wet bar, electric barbeque, and even an optional Jacuzzi, it provides guests both a unique experience and versatility. With this new Majesty 100 this powerhouse shipyard from the Emirates has once again delivered a truly royal yachting experience. Long may it reign.

A thoroughly luxurious cruising experience is offered by the first superyacht in the Majesty series.

Gulf Craft’s in-house design studio created the exterior and interior design. The layouts have been designed to maximise the sense of space and unobstructed sea views. The large owner’s cabin is located on the main deck and offers a unique view thanks to the large panoramic windows. It also offers enough space to accommodate an office space.

The flybridge can also be accessed through the raised wheelhouse. Here the captain has a 270-degree view around the yacht.

Above the wheelhouse on the upper flybridge deck is the air-conditioned glass skylounge, which ideally complements the outdoor area and creates ideal independence from the weather.

The deck area of the outdoor cockpit can be enlarged by fold-out balconies. Another highlight is the option to convert the tender garage into a beach club and enjoy sunsets near the water.

The 4 large guest cabins are located in the bow of the lower deck. The stern area houses the captain’s cabin and 2 crew quarters to accommodate a total of 5 crew members on board.

Gulf Craft Marks the Delivery of Another Majesty 100, Its Best-Selling Superyacht

UAE; June 21, 2021 : Gulf Craft, one of the world’s leading shipbuilders, today marked the delivery of another Majesty 100, one of the best-selling models of its flagship superyacht brand that has gained acclaim globally for its innovative design, powerful performance, and massive interior volume.

Wholly manufactured at the in-house design and production facility of Gulf Craft, the Majesty 100 will set off for the Turquoise Coast in Turkey and will cruise further on to the Mediterranean Sea following her summer berthing in Turkey.

Hull 10 of the Majesty 100 was designed to the specifications of the owner and stands out for her exquisite exterior and interior design offering ample onboard space as well as a sky lounge on the upper deck which provides spectacular views of the sea.

Made of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP), making her lightweight at 199 Gross Tons, the 31.7 meters (104 ft) Majesty 100 is powered by twin MAN 1,900 horsepower engines reaching a top speed of 20 knots. With a displacement of about 132 tonnes, the draft of just 1.65 meters (5 ft 5 in), enables easy cruising in shallow waters and giving effortless access to the pristine beaches along her journey.

With folding balconies on both sides of the cockpit, the Majesty 100’s interior features include floor-to-ceiling glazing in the main deck saloon and five spacious staterooms that can accommodate 10 guests and five crew members. Her raised wheelhouse has 270-degree vertical glass panels, a design-first by Gulf Craft, which offers the captain unobstructed views of the seascapes.

The Majesty 100 is compliant with the Maritime Coastguard Agency’s (MCA) LY3, the large commercial yacht code, which outlines specifications for structural strength, weathertight integrity, machinery and installation, safety management, and clean sea requirements, among others. She has an environmentally friendly water treatment solution supporting extended trips out to sea.

The most boats ever will compete in the 100th Bayview Yacht Club race to Mackinac Island

B illed on its website as the “world’s longest continuously run long-distance freshwater yacht race,” the 100th Bayview Mackinac Race is set to start Saturday.

A record-setting 334 boats have registered for the 100th year of the race, shattering the record of 316 in 1985 and a huge contrast compared with the 200 boats that raced last year, said David Stoyka, spokesman for the Bayview Yacht Club, which puts on the race.

Bayview Yacht Club says boats start leaving the Black River in Port Huron around 8 a.m. on race day and will continue leaving until around noon. From the Black River, they will proceed up the St. Clair River, under the Blue Water Bridge, into Lake Huron.

The first scheduled start time in Lake Huron is 11:30 a.m., with starts every 10 minutes until approximately 1:30 p.m. The starts may be delayed due to weather conditions.

This year, for the 100th running, the race will follow the original 1925 route and span 204 nautical miles. From the starting point, the boats will head north along the Michigan shoreline, passing south of Bois Blanc Island, sailing west to east at the finish line between Round Island and Mackinac Island, organizers said.

The range of boats are expected to finish in between 30 and 60 hours.

The sailors

Teams at all skill levels have entered the race, which draws competitors from around the world.  The highly skilled racers know they will cross the bow of competitors within inches. Still, there's always risk of a crash with the slightest miscalculation.

"Everybody recognizes this is super intense," said champion sailor  Tim Prophit , 65, of St. Clair Shores, past commodore of Bayview Yacht Club and owner of Fast Tango, a North American 40 sailboat.

The teams are vying for trophies and flags to show their accomplishments.

The J.L. Hudson Trophy is awarded to the boat with the best corrected time in Division I, and the Canadian Club Classic Trophy is awarded to the boat with the best corrected time in Division II.

How can spectators follow the race?

Spectators can go to bycmack.com during the race and click on “RaceTracking” link to watch real-time GPS positioning of all the race boats, or, on your mobile device, download the free app YB Races and select the current race.

Boats will start arriving at Mackinac Island on Sunday afternoon and continue until Monday evening, all dependent upon the wind.

Finishes can be seen from Windermere Point on Mackinac Island at the south end of Main Street.

Sailors who have completed 25 Bayview Mackinac races are called “Old Goats,” according to the club, while those who have completed 50 are called “Grand Rams.” 

"Double Goats" are sailors who have completed 25 Bayview Mackinac races and 25 Chicago Yacht Club race to Mackinac races. This year’s Chicago to Mackinac race encountered strong winds in Lake Michigan , snapping some boats’ masts and tossing one sailor overboard. No one was hurt.

Volunteers who have served for 15 years on the Race Committee are honored with the title “Old Forts,” as designated by the Race Committee.

Explore Tahiti’s Tuamotus archipelago on our Rangiroa Dream Cruise, which gives an expert six-day tour of this special atoll’s highlights. It’s one of the world’s largest atolls, where you will be surrounded by a huge turquoise lagoon. Taking you from Mahanahana to Tuamotu, you’ll experience beautiful motus with white-sand beaches, coconut plantations, coral reefs, unforgettable water sports, local crafts and beachcombing. Rangiroa’s clear waters are teeming with marine life and the area is a world-famous diving destination.

Relax in comfort in our standard double cabins, with private bathroom. Life on board is spacious with AC, but you’ll hardly want to be indoors when there’s so much wonder to see and enjoy outside.

Board at 3pm and settle in. You’ll be served with lunch and a panoramic view as the crew sail 15 nautical miles to Onetere. Relax in the afternoon with snorkeling, taking out the kayak, strolling on sandy beaches and riding on the motu. The crew will serve dinner and you’ll spend the night at anchor.

Sables Rose

At 8:30am, after the breakfast, you’ll sail two hours to Kauraufara, a small fishing village with its beaches made of shells. You’ll head to its coconut plantation and see how it uses copra. There’ll be the opportunity to buy local Tuamotu crafts before hopping back on board for a short 15-minute cruise to a coral garden for lunch.

In the afternoon, you can snorkel the coral garden and swim among the colorful fish. In the late afternoon, sail 30 minutes to reach the impressive Pink Sands Beach, also known as Sables Rose, made from crushed pink shells. Walk on the sandbanks and discover the easternmost part of Rangiroa. Dinner will be served in the evening and overnight at anchor.

Reef Island

After breakfast we will sail to Reef Island, making a captivating stop along the route for an exceptional snorkeling experience in a vibrant coral garden. After lunch we will navigate to the southern expanse of the Rangiroa lagoon, dropping anchor at Reef Island. Choose to indulge in an optional BBQ on a private motu, available for an additional charge, or opt for a delightful lunch served on board before immersing yourself in the wonders of Reef Island.

Engage in free diving amidst a stunning coral garden and partake in the serene activity of kayaking. As the day winds down, relish a delectable dinner, and spend a tranquil night anchored in this enchanting location.

Blue Lagoon

Early morning, after breakfast, we will sail to the Blue Lagoon. This natural site is one of the most famous of Tuamotu. Enjoy snorkeling among tropical fish and corals. Return on board for lunch and after we will sail back to the Avatoru village. Mooring late afternoon. Swimming at the aquarium in front of the Tiputa pass and / or drift diving and dolphin watching at the pass. Dinner and overnight at anchor.

Sailboat Preview: Lagoon 43

Details are starting to come out about the Lagoon 43, which is scheduled to make its debut in September at the Cannes Yachting Festival.

This boat has naval architecture by VPLP Design, exteriors by Patrick le Quement, and interiors by Nauta Design. It’s a team that has produced a winning combination of elements on other models in the past.

The Lagoon 43 is the third-smallest model in Lagoon’s lineup, intended for cruising couples or young families. Owners can order the Lagoon 43 in a three- or four-stateroom version that’s outfitted with between six and 13 berths—and the staterooms are larger than on previous models, meaning there’s room for families to grow or to welcome friends on board.

In the three-stateroom version, the entire starboard hull is an owners’ suite. In the four-stateroom version, that hull is split into two en suite staterooms. Either way, the owners’ berth is forward, in a location that’s undisturbed by engine noise for a good night’s rest.

Another new element on this model is redesigned access via an extra aft entryway for each hull. The idea is to make it easier for people moving between the boat and the dock.

The dining space can seat 12 people, making dinner parties on the hook a comfortable experience with a great view of the surroundings.

What are the key specs on the Lagoon 43? Length overall is 45 feet, 6 inches; beam is 25 feet, 2 inches; and draft is 4 feet, 5 inches.

This is a great 3 cabin Lagoon 380 with some excellent features, and we know a lot about this boat. The original owner had the boat delivered to the UK and after some cruising around the UK she was then shipped by cargo vessel to Antigua. She sailed back & forth between Antigua and Grenada for a few years.

The boat then stayed in Grenada for a while until it was sold in 2015 to its second owner, where it cruised locally and received many upgrades including a generator, AC and solar.…
