Built by LM Glasfibr of Denmark they have become the classic sub 30 foot Motorsailer. With a Long Keel and Wheelhouse they are designed to get you home in any weather. This particular example has had a lot of money spent on her by the current owner who has installed a new Engine (2022), fitted new Standing Rigging (2022) along with new Batteries and Wiring for the Engine circuit. Excalibur - Excalibur 36   Price : £11,950 

LOA : 11.00 Metres Engine : Single 30 HP Yanmar 3YM30 Diesel

1966 36ft GRP Long fin keel (encapsulated lead ballast) with spade rudder, 7-berth Ocean Cruiser/Racer, powered by a single 2005 30hp Yanmar inboard diesel engine with shaft drive. The Excalibur 36 is a powerful and fast all-weather cruiser by a well respected designer. Interesting original history & a family owned boat for over 50 years. Excalibur II could be sailed away as is, but could do with some updating in places. Lying at Portland on hard standing. E. G. van de Stadt designed the Excalibur in 1962, the design looking very like an enlarged version of his already very successful Pionier designs for GRP production, which were early examples of cruising boats with separate spade rudders, at a time when most cruising yachts still had long keels with keel-hung rudders. All the Excalibur hulls were moulded by Tylers, with encapsulated lead ballast, and a GRP headlining moulding. Hulls were finished mainly by Southern Ocean Shipyard in Poole, who built about 50 of these yachts, but some were also finished in Holland by various yards. It is reported a that a very few later exapmples had a modified underwater profile with a fin and skeg rudder. Despite being designed primarily as a cruiser, Excaliburs won the RORC Class II Championships in 1963, 1964 and 1965, but as racing designs evolved with more beam and smaller keels they ceased to be competitive, except in heavy weather. They are now a good example of a classic cruiser-racer. Bigger and faster than a Contessa 32, and not dissimilar to a Nicholson 35, they are a very capable and strongly built yacht for bluewater or coastal cruising..

Albin Ballard -   Price : £10,950

1974 GRP 30ft 4-berth Sailing Cruiser-Racer. 2009 Yanmar 3YM20 20hp inboard diesel engine with shaft drive. The Albin Ballad is a fast, seaworthy cruiser-racer from the 1970s, a time when competitive racing boats actually made effective cruisers. The Ballad was designed by Rolf Magnusson, 1,500 Ballads were built, and many have made long offshore passages, including at least one circumnavigation. The Ballad hull is solid GRP, with lead ballast encapsulated into the keel. The deck is a GRP sandwich moulding, with a smooth inner skin forming the headlining. The mast is keel-stepped. Ballads are both fast for their size and seaworthy, and have a reputation for good, predictable handling. Lying out of the water for the Winter @ Castle Cove Sailing Club..

Built by LM Glasfibr of Denmark they have become the classic sub 30 foot Motorsailer. With a Long Keel and Wheelhouse they are designed to get you home in any weather. This particular example has had a lot of money spent on her by the current owner who has installed a new Engine (2022), fitted new Standing Rigging (2022) along with new Batteries and Wiring for the Engine circuit. He has yet to complete the domestic wiring, and this would be the last piece of the jigsaw to have a completely renovated boat. "Starry" is a Masthead Sloop and the Mast is mounted on a Tabernacle making it easy to take down in order to access the inland waterways.
