Kelsie Goglia From Below Deck Sailing Yacht: Everything We Know

Shraman Mitra of Kelsie Goglia From Below Deck Sailing Yacht: Everything We Know

Bravo’s ‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’ is an interesting reality show that takes the audience through the everyday workings of a luxury yacht crew during charter season. Cameras follow the staff around as they strike a balance between their personal and professional lives while facilitating their guests’ demands and contributing to a safe and smooth journey. However, living in such close quarters is sure to drum up quite a bit of drama interspersed with exciting romances, making the show a joy to watch.

Kelsie Goglia found herself thrust into the spotlight when she appeared on season 3 of the show. Fans were quick to take a liking to the reality TV star, and with interest in Kelsie’s life at an all-time high, we decided to jump in and find out more!

Kelsie Goglia’s Age and Background

Hailing from San Diego, Kelsie Goglia was born and brought up in a close-knit family, helping her develop an incredible bond with her parents and siblings. Although she prefers to keep her age a secret, she still maintains the familial bond as her social media is chock full of beautiful moments she spent with her loved ones.

Incidentally, Kelsie never planned on a career as a deckhand as she pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a minor in communication from the San Diego State University. Following her graduation, she worked in the corporate sector, but a sailing holiday made her fall in love with yachting. And just like that, Kelsie decided to pursue a career in the same!

Kelsie Goglia’s Profession

After college, Kelsie Goglia made a name for herself in the corporate world and held prestigious positions at major organizations like Major League Baseball, Abercrombie & Fitch, FOX Sports, and San Diego Seals. However, while sailing on holiday in Croatia, her mindset completely changed, and she began yearning for a life on the water. Thus, quitting corporate life, Kelsie researched how to make a living on the water and landed her first yacht job as a freelance Skipper for MedSailors in August 2019.

Kelsie has since gained experience as a deckhand and first mate working on yachts in Costa Rica, San Diego, and Italy. Besides, during the off-season, she works as a Substitute Teacher at the San Marcos Unified School District and is also employed as an Entertainment Team Coordinator for the San Diego Parades. In 2021, Kelsie took on the position of a freelance Skipper at Quarterdeck Life Limited and subsequently got the opportunity to appear as one of the deckhands on ‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’ season 3.

Is Kelsie Goglia Dating Anyone?

Unfortunately, like many of her crewmates, Kelsie Goglia prefers to keep her relationship status under wraps and hasn’t revealed it in public. There are no reports about a special someone in the reality star’s life, and her social media posts make the absence of a romantic partner quite obvious. Thus, from the looks of it, Kelsie is single as of the present, although it remains to be seen if she will find the one she is looking for in her reality TV journey.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3: next episode, trailer, cast and everything we know

Bravo’s Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 is underway and the only thing calm may be the water.

Chef Marcos cooking on Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 is here, and Captain Glenn Shephard is back to balancing the demands of vacationers with the drama of his crew. And let’s face it, in most instances, the baggage of his crew far outweighs the luggage of any guest.

This season takes the show to the waters surrounding Menorca, Spain. The breathtaking views only serve as momentary interruptions to the hookups, the confrontations, the injuries and the occasional emergencies of the new season. Given the interesting dynamic that already exists between returning crew members like Daisy Kelliher and Gary King, the addition of a new chef, new stews and new deckhands make sailing anything but smooth aboard the Parsifal III.

Here’s what we know about Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3.

When is the next Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 episode?

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 premiered on Monday, February 21. New episodes continue to air on Mondays at 8 pm ET/PT on Bravo TV in the US. Episodes are available the next day in the UK on Hayu , which can be included as part of a Prime Video subscription. Additionally, Peacock via Sky TV or NOW TV also offers next-day streaming for Bravo content.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is back with the first part of the season 3 reunion airing on Monday, June 27, at 8 pm ET/PT on Bravo. After a tumultuous season full of drama and love triangles, it will be interesting to see what the cast has to say to one another when they face off.

By the way, have you read why fans are grossed out by Ashely's grilled cheese feast ?

What happens on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3?

Viewers of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2 will recall that the last time the crew was together, first mate Gary King was involved in a messy love triangle with deckhand Sydney Zaruba and stew Alli Dore. While fans of the show won’t have to worry about seeing King in a continuation of that love saga, based on the trailer, King will again find himself entangled in a romance. It appears he entangles with chief stew Daisy Kelliher of all people. While the two appeared to make amends at last year’s reunion after feuding all season 2, no one expected the two to be locking lips.

Additionally, it should be noted that Below Deck Sailing Yacht is done with love triangles, as Bravo TV teases this season fans can expect to see a “twisted love pentagon.” More may not turn out to be merrier in this case.

Fans of the show will also remember that Captain Glenn Shephard and his crew were involved in an accident during season 2 . Season 3 shows how Captain Shephard has been able to bounce back from the incident while also trying to avoid another potentially disastrous event.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 cast

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 includes returning crew Captain Glenn Shephard, chief stew Daisy Kelliher, chief engineer Colin MacRae and first mate Gary King. These members are joined by chef Marcos Spaziani, second stew Gabriela Barragan, third stew Ashley Marti, as well as deckhands Kelsie Goglia and Tom Pearson.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 looks like it’s not light on the conflict or surprised hookups.

For those needing more details about that kiss between Gary and Daisy, hear from Daisy herself as she provides a little more insight on their involvement.

How to watch Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3

New episodes of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 air live on Mondays in the US. With a subscription, episodes can also be streamed live via Fubo TV , Hulu with Live TV , Sling TV and YouTube TV . Additionally, Peacock provides next-day streaming for its subscribers. In order to access episodes, would-be viewers will have to subscribe to Peacock Premium , which offers either a $4.99 ad-supported or $9.99 ad-free plan.

Viewers in the UK can watch episodes the day after they air using Hayu .

Who's leaving Below Deck Sailing Yacht?

It looks like everyone's favorite Below Deck chef is calling it quits. Marcos Spaziani recently took to Twitter to announce that he has no plans on returning for another season.

I want to thank everyone for the big support and great comments. I never thought in my life I would bring so much inspiration to so many ppl and for that I’m very grateful and also blessed! But I can’t go back to the next season. #BelowDeckSailingYacht #belowdecksailing pic.twitter.com/CLTmtLV7yP June 1, 2022

Where Ashley Marti From Below Deck Sailing Yacht Is Today

Ashley Marti smiling

Ashley Marti made quite the splash in "Below Deck Sailing Yacht" Season 3 . Since the first episode, she caused a lot of drama within the boat that carried on throughout the season. During the crew's first night together, Marti and First Officer Gary King had a steamy makeout session in the hot tub. She later made it clear that she wanted him to only have eyes for her, but he wasn't ready to commit to a relationship. Undeterred, she spent the season chasing after him and getting upset when he hooked up with Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher and the second stew, Gabriela Barragan.

Marti also created a tense work environment for Barragan after she was appointed third stew despite the two having similar work experiences. However, Kelliher thought Barragan had more life experience as she was older than Marti. The third stew often ignored Barragan's orders and made her job more difficult. Midway through the season, the second stew had enough of the boat drama and decided to quit.

While Marti's actions were already causing tension within the boat, she caused even more drama when she convinced a very inebriated King to have sex with her. Many "BDSY" fans thought the first mate had been sexually assaulted and Marti got a lot of heat from viewers, per E! News . Marti ended up skipping the reunion and used her moment of fame to pursue another career.

Ashley Marti is making bank on OnlyFans

Ashley Marti's time on "Below Deck Sailing Yacht" Season 3 was highly controversial and it's likely that she won't be back on the show. Following her stint on reality television, Marti decided to go another route and created an OnlyFans account, which was a topic of conversation during the Season 3 reunion. Although Marti was dragged by her cast members and viewers for failing to show up, she had the last laugh and tweeted the following day, "Just want to thank @BravoWWHL for all the free OF publicity! I love waking up and seeing that in a couple hours, I've made more money than #Bravo paid me for 6 weeks."

According to Refinery29 , "Below Deck" stews make around $5,000 a month, not including tips from the charter guests. Crew members each earn about $15,000 in tips for their six-week season, which can add up to $20,000 for a second or third stew. At the time, the Daily Mail reported that Marti was charging $12.50 for her OnlyFans subscription and had 4,100 fans so far, which meant the former yachtie made over $51,000 that month. With a much heftier paycheck, Marti can afford to leave the stew career behind and is using her money to traverse the globe.

Ashley Marti is traveling the world with her paycheck

When she's not creating content for her OnlyFans site, Ashley Marti is traveling the world. In August 2022, she shared a poolside selfie on Instagram and wrote, "Life is fxcking amazing." The previous day, the former stew was in Spain with her fellow "Below Deck Sailing Yacht" Season 3 cast members Kelsie Goglia and Barnaby Birkbeck. "Ibiza you did not disappoint..and neither did the squad," Marti captioned .

In October 2021, she showed off her adventurous side by going on a safari in Tanzania. Marti shared a snap of her and a tour guide and wrote , "*Guide Appreciation Post* This man has been above and beyond anything I could've ever asked for. His name means Good luck and that's exactly what he is. If any of you ever plan on going on safari in Tanzania, talk to me and I will make sure you have the best guides."

Although Marti clashed with many of her "BDSY" cast members, she became good friends with Goglia, and the two often spend time together. Marti visited her BFF in San Diego to watch her throw the first pitch for the Padres. "Couldn't miss my bestie throw an absolute zinger of a first pitch," she shared on Instagram . Despite her controversial "BDSY" season, it looks as if some good things came out of her short stint on the show.

Screen Rant

10 below deck charter guests who will never return to the franchise.

While the charter guests who appear on Below Deck have a great time while filming the show, many aren't invited back for a number of reasons.

  • Some charter guests on Below Deck have caused unnecessary drama and won't likely return due to bad behavior.
  • Captain Glenn Shephard from Below Deck Sailing Yacht faced backlash from Barrie, who called him two-faced.
  • Former guest Dr. Francis Martinis will not return to Below Deck after he was arrested for faking prescriptions.

The Below Deck franchise has featured many charter guests since 2013, many of whom will never return . The Bravo series focuses on expensive charters with wealthy guests who have attitude problems and over-the-top demands. That includes Charter guest Alexis Bellino, who boarded Captain Lee Rosbach’s yacht with her boyfriend at the time, Andy Bohn. She was disrespectful and made everyone uncomfortable with her and Andy's PDA. She even insulted crew members after featuring on the show.

Like Alexis, Delores Flora from Below Deck season 8 was a terrible guest. Not only did she misbehave, but she also got drunk and s wam while intoxicated, which is not only not allowed, it frightened the crew members. Delores got kicked out of the yacht the next day. These guests created unnecessary drama on the boat and will likely never return like a few others from the franchise.

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now

8 barrie & tony, below deck sailing yacht.

Barrie and Tony Drewitt Barlow had a decent time in the Below Deck Sailing Yacht seasons 2 and 3. Despite that, they left with a bitter taste because of Captain Glenn Shephard. In 2021, Barrie participated in a podcast, Pita Party: The Podcast , where he claimed that Captain Glenn bothered him while using his phone .

Barrie said, “he (Captain Glenn) was a two-face b*stard,” adding that he just didn’t like his presence.

7 Frank Fay

Below deck mediterranean.

In Below Deck Mediterranean season 7, Charter guest Frank Fay had a thing for second stew Kyle Viljoen. He pursued him on the yacht, but unfortunately, their relationship didn’t last. Frank will likely never return to the series as long as Captain Sandy Yawn allows Kyle to work for her. Even if Kyle quits, Frank wouldn’t want to be in an environment that would remind him of his failed relationship.

6 Erica Rose

Erica Rose appeared on Below Deck Sailing Yacht two seasons in a row. Erica was highly offensive toward the crew member, as well as her husband, Charles Sanders, and to make things worse, she left the crew with a measly tip , leading fans to slam her on social media. Ultimately, Erica had to apologize for her bad attitude but never returned to give the crew the tip they deserved. Nobody on Below Deck Sailing Yacht would ever want to return.

5 Justin Guarini

Justin Guarini’s time on Below Deck Sailing Yacht was not dramatic at all; however, he’ll probably never return to the series. Justin wouldn’t return because he wasn't the primary guest. He joined his friend, Kim, who wanted to enjoy a luxury yacht trip. It was more of a one-and-done deal. Secondly, nobody recognized him at all. Viewers later realized who he was and how he was the runner-up on American Idol season 1. Justin is a theatre artist and has made a name for himself. However, it was embarrassing that so many fans had no clue who he was .

Below Deck: 8 Charter Guests With The Worst Attitudes

4 johnny damon.

Johnny Damon’s time at Below Deck Med was full of explosive moments. Once, he sent the food back, citing that the experience wasn’t “five stars.” On another occasion, his wife, Michelle, created drama by yelling at the owner of another yacht . Overall, the experience was simply terrible on both sides. Crew members didn’t love Johnny and his wife, and the couple didn’t respect the crew members. It is unlikely that Captain Sandy would want to host the couple again as long as she’s in charge.

3 Krystal Murphy

Former charter guest Krystal Murphy boarded Captain Lee’s yacht with her friends. She immediately began showing red flags, drinking, and just being a menace. Krystal fought with her friend, Chelsea, creating unnecessary drama. She even passed out and punched a friend in the face. Former Chief Stew Kate Chastain disliked serving Krystal and called her a “spoiled brat;” she wanted to throw her off the yacht. Nowadays, Krystal has seemingly become a more private person. It doesn’t seem like Krystal would want to be on TV again.

2 Steve Bradley

Below Deck fans should remember Steve Bradley as he made many appearances on the show. In Below Deck season 3, he wanted a foam party and demanded the crew to figure it out and follow his commands, acting like a king. In Below Deck season 6, Steve made more outrageous requests. Apart from being a wild guest, Steve was entitled and acted inappropriately at times . No Below Deck captain would want to host him again as he didn't come off as very likable.

1 Dr. Francis Martinis

Below deck mediterranean & below deck sailing yacht.

Dr. Francis Martinis from Below Deck Med and Below Deck Sailing Yacht has a zero chance of returning. While the former charter guest didn’t have too many issues on the show, his personal life issues will stop him from appearing on Bravo again. According to TMZ , Dr. Francis and his wife, Jessica, were arrested for filling out fake prescriptions in December 2023 . The couple used the names of Below Deck stars and got caught red-handed. The Below Deck franchise would never want to welcome felons, especially when their mugshots are all over the internet.

Below Deck airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo.

Below Deck is a popular reality TV franchise that focuses on a group of crew members as they work on luxurious yachts and cater to their client's needs. After the original series proved to be a success, Bravo developed a handful of spinoff shows including Below Deck Selling Yacht, Below Deck Adventure, Below Deck Down Under, and Below Deck Mediterranean.

A Love Pentagon & Rough Waters Threaten the Below Deck Sailing Yacht Crew in Season 3 First Look

Below deck sailing yacht season 3 is setting sail next month watch the wild first look now to see captain glenn shephard's crew get tangled in hookups, bad weather and so much more..

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is officially set to return for a third season on Monday, Feb. 21, and based on this just-released sneak peek, Captain Glenn Shephard 's crew is in for the ride of a lifetime.

Joining him on board the Parsifal III are last season's chief stew Daisy Kelliher , chief engineer Colin MacRae and first mate Gary King , the latter of which is apparently determined to lay low this season.

As Gary puts it in the trailer, "I was the cause of a little drama last season . I'm not gonna have sex with the first chick that throws herself at me. Gary's new leaf has been turned, girl!"

Cue a clip of him making out with newcomer Ashley Marti .

However, they're not the only ones getting steamy. With additional newbies chef Marcos Spaziani , second stew Gabriela Barragan and deckhands Kelsie Goglia and Tom Pearson also in the mix, a love pentagon of sorts seems to be forming.

"All of you are forgetting the f--king lack of basic respect," Daisy says in the sneak peek. "You don't f--k somebody and f--k somebody else."

In addition to the on-board drama, the Sailing Yacht crew will also be up against the elements. Rough waters have everyone—including the charter guests—falling all over the place, resulting in a litany of gruesome injuries.

The trailer also teases a dangerous, potentially vessel-crippling accident that threatens the safety of everyone on board.

All in all, there's no telling just how wild the journey through Menorca, Spain is going to be.

Chaos Ensues in the Trailer for Season 3 of 'Below Deck: Sailing Yacht'

Pretty Honore - Author

Feb. 10 2022, Published 10:38 p.m. ET

Working on a yacht is pretty much the same thing as partying on one — well, at least that’s true for the crew responsible for operating the Parsifal III on Below Deck: Sailing Yacht .

The Below Deck spinoff first aired in 2020. Now, two years later, the cast is back for the third installment of the series, and a newly released trailer gives an idea of what’s to come. Here’s what we learned from the preview for Season 3 of Below Deck: Sailing Yacht .

Bravo's preview for Season 3 of ‘Below Deck: Sailing Yacht’ teases a lot of drama.

Bravo's trailer for Season 3 of Bravo’s Below Deck: Sailing Yacht features a mix of fresh and familiar faces who are setting sail on a small screen near you much sooner than you think.

The teaser for the upcoming season hints that drama is afoot onboard the Parsifal, and it’s no surprise that Gary King is at the epicenter. Caught up in a nautical love triangle, the First Officer may have a lot of explaining to do after the show's premiere.

Daisy Kelliher

“I was the cause of a lot of drama last season,” Gary admits in the trailer. “[But] I’m not gonna have sex with the first chick that throws herself at me. Gary’s new leaf has been turned, girl!”

But has it? The trailer shows Gary making out with new steward Ashley Marti, then seconds later getting hot and heavy with ( now rumored girlfriend ) Daisy Kelliher.

But that isn’t the only chaos that ensues in Season 3. Among several disasters that come to pass this season are actual natural disasters that threaten the safety of the yacht’s passengers. Below Deck newcomer Gabriela Barragan says in the trailer, “The thing about yachting that makes it difficult is not the guests. Not living on a boat. It’s the f--king elements.”

At one point in the trailer, things get so tumultuous on the water that the boat is at risk of dragging anchor and running aground. Captain Glenn Shepard suggests that they could “lose the boat” in the midst of the extreme weather conditions. “It’s about as serious as it gets,” he says.

Though filming for Season 3 was by no means a walk in the park for the cast of Below Deck , they still managed to find the time to blow off some steam by way of body shots, making out, and binge drinking.

Who’s in Season 3 of ‘Below Deck: Sailing Yacht’? Meet the new cast members.

Joining the cast of Below Deck: Sailing Yacht in Menorca, Spain are stewards Gabriela Barragan and Ashley Marti, deckhands Kelsie Goglia and Tom Pearson, and Marcos Spaziani, a veteran chef from Venezuela.

Along with Captain Glenn, series regulars Gary King, Colin MacRae, and Daisy Kelliher will also return for the Season 3 premiere.

Daisy Kelliher dishes Below Deck Sailing Yacht success, reveals if she still stalks to Gary King after scandal

Daisy Kelliher on BDS Season 4

Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Daisy Kelliher has dished about her success on the hit show ahead of Season 5.

Daisy has appeared on three seasons of Below Deck Sailing Yacht and helped turn the show around after a lackluster first season.

Despite a serious rift in the dream team trio of Colin, Daisy, and Gary following Season 4, fans still can’t get enough of them.

Ahead of her fourth stint on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Daisy has opened up about life following her success and how she ended up on the show.

Daisy lost her job during the COVID-19 pandemic and at the urging of friends, she applied to be on Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

Speaking with The Irish Independent, Daisy admitted that a couple of weeks after applying, she was filming Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2 in Croatia.

Daisy Kelliher dishes Below Deck Sailing Yacht success

Although it may seem like Daisy’s life has changed drastically since she became a staple on the sailing franchise, she insists that’s not the case.

“My life hasn’t changed dramatically, but there have been small, subtle changes – it’s been fun,” she expressed to the outlet.

As Monsters and Critics previously reported, one big change for Daisy is her new friendship with Hollywood A-list star Christina Applegate.

Daisy also looked back on her life since her Below Deck Sailing Yacht debut, admitting she didn’t think she would get the gig, but is beyond happy she did.

“The last three years have been kind of a whirlwind, I really can’t complain. I’m getting to do all my yachting work and slowly getting to do other things as well,” Daisy stated.

With her fourth season hitting Bravo airwaves this year, one can’t help but wonder how much longer Daisy will still be on Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

“I’m just being a ‘yes person’ at the moment. The last few years have changed very quickly, so my attitude right now is just saying yes and seeing where things take me,” Daisy spilled. “I’ve done everything from podcasts to the show, to still doing both, so every day is very different. I don’t know what the future holds right now.”

Along with opening up about her success on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Daisy also shared if she still speaks to Gary following sexual misconduct allegations against him.

Daisy Kelliher reveals if she still talks to Gary King

Last summer, Gary was accused of sexual misconduct by a production team member. However, even before that, Daisy and Gary were at odds over things that went down during Season 4, especially her hooking up with Colin.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans have wondered where Daisy and Gary stand today following the scandal and their fallout. After all, Gary was removed from BravoCon after the allegations against him came to light, so no resolution to his and Daisy’s friendship was revealed there.

During an Instagram Stories Q&A session, Daisy asked who she talks to from the show. Dani Soares and Gary were two names Daisy brought up immediately.

Daisy Kelliher IG Story

Although she did mention she keeps in touch with others like Alli Dore, Daisy also declared that they all simply live different lives. Daisy confirmed that no other cast members from Below Deck Sailing Yacht live in London, where she resides.

Daisy frequently hangs with Below Deck stars Fraser Olender and Hayley De Sola Pinto. She also spends time with Below Deck Med alum Courtney Veale since they live in London.

The wait to see Daisy Kelliher back on Below Deck Sailing Yacht won’t be much longer. Captain Glenn hinted at when the Parsifal III crew will be back, and you can read what he had to say here.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is currently on hiatus on Bravo. Seasons 1-4 are streaming on Peacock.

About below deck sailing yacht.

Capt. Glenn and his comeback team Daisy Kelliher, Gary King and Colin MacRae resume their responsibilities aboard Parsifal III, along with new, dynamic crew members, as they set sail in Sardinia, Italy.

Capt. Glenn realizes that his laid-back leadership style has allowed his crew to become too comfortable and starts taking charge of quality control in the interior department, much to Daisy's dismay. In the galley, Chef Ilesha's cooking impresses the guests, but her indecisiveness and co-dependency lead to time-management issues between courses, which causes her to self-destruct. On deck, strong personalities collide, and a power struggle results in a near mutiny, as Gary clashes with his new overconfident deckhand, Chase.

Two overlapping love triangles further complicate the dynamics on-board, and a shocking hookup puts Colin, Daisy and Gary’s friendship in jeopardy.

With a near collision, fire, crew rebellion, gruesome guest injury and two different potentially season-ending engine failures, this is the most captivating and unpredictable season yet of Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

‘Below Deck’ Sails Into a New Era

With a different captain at the helm and new production elements, the reality show about charter yachts is switching up its style.

A man in a crew member suit stands behind a bar and tends to flowers in a vase.

By Shivani Gonzalez

Starting a new season of “ Below Deck ” can be similar to returning to summer camp as a kid — you know it’s going to be fun and that you’ll be in the same environment, but some of the people will be different and you’re not quite sure what the vibes will be.

This time around, in particular, feels that way because for the first time in the show’s 11-season run, Captain Lee Rosbach is no longer at the helm. It’s a pivotal moment for a franchise that has become one of the most popular entities in the sprawling universe of reality TV since premiering on Bravo in 2013 . The show’s appeal was built on endless romances between various crew members (“boatmances,” as they came to be known), horrible charter guests and some sort of passive-aggressive fight about how many shackles of the anchor chain should be in the water. And there was always Rosbach presiding over the drama as he trudged around the boat, reeling off one liners like “I’m madder than a pissed-on chicken” and “we screwed the pooch so many times we should have a litter of puppies running around.”

At the center of the show now is Kerry Titheradge (the stern yet goofy captain of “Below Deck Adventure” fame), who is managing the Motor Yacht Saint David with the cheeky chief stew Fraser Olender by his side.

With that change in captain, the energy on the boat — both onscreen and off — is different, according to Olender.

“Lee has a no B.S. attitude, which I love with him,” Olender said in an interview. “With Kerry, he taught me a lot and sort of forced to me confront issues directly with my team, work them out, as opposed to making executive decisions too soon.”

This shift in management style changes the central conflict — whereas the drama once focused on the captain swiftly kicking out any unpleasant crew member (as we might have seen with Rosbach), the drama now focuses on the whole crew trying to get along (since Titheradge gives people those second chances).

Additionally, Olender noted that the captain’s relationship with the crew can also affect the drama on board.

“Captains absolutely do get involved, whether they know it or not,” Olender said, adding that for the crew, everything is about “trying to impress your captain.”

This phenomenon plays out early in the new season when the lead deckhand, Ben Willoughby, called out a fellow crew member over the radios about not wearing a life vest — something he easily could have done in private. The drama that followed became an interpersonal conflict between the two of them, both with the ultimate goal of impressing Titheradge. (Of course, the two deckhands had kissed on the previous crew night out, which is more in line with the “Below Deck” drama viewers are used to.)

For “Below Deck” showrunners, the changeovers in the cast allowed them to rethink what the show would look like.

From the season premiere, it was immediately apparent that Rosbach’s absence wasn’t the only change this season: The filming is sleeker, the daily, multicourse meals prepared by the chef are given their own glamour shots and the cameras sometimes cut to the perspectives of yachties running around on deck and through the galley.

“Our showrunner, Lauren Simms, is an avid consumer of all different kinds of media,” Noah Samton, a senior vice president of unscripted current production for NBCUniversal, said in an interview. “She pitches us different ideas on how to stylistically evoke different feelings and change the mood a little bit of ‘Below Deck’ without removing what really works.”

Moving through the rest of the season, and potentially through seasons to come, Olender is aiming to bring a cutthroat management style while also bringing affection for his stews, all with his signature British humor.

On Bravo’s side, there are changes in the works for the other “Below Deck” spinoffs — including “Sailing Yacht,” “Mediterranean” and “Down Under” — which collectively, have 26 seasons. Specifically, Samton said that “Down Under” is currently filming and that even though fans should be ready to see new things, the show will stay true to its original concept.

“These are real yachties doing a real job so you have to stay within those confines because the audience isn’t going to want anything that is too produced or fake,” Samton said. “So we have to find ways to reinvent while staying true to the original concept of the show.”

And as Olender said: “I’m sure that every year if I were to work with this franchise again, that I’ll be thrown a collection of total chaotic and disastrous stews — that’s what makes it watchable.”

An earlier version of this article misquoted Fraser Olender, the chief stew of “Below Deck.” He said, “I also feel like Kerry this season. ... Lee has a no B.S. attitude, which I love with him,” not “I feel like Kerry this season, as opposed to Lee, has a no B.S. attitude, which I love with him.”

Gabriela Reveals Juicy Details From Below Deck Yacht Sailing - Exclusive Interview

Gabriela Barragan smiling

When you imagine a sailing yacht, the first thing to come to mind may be the wealthy guests who charter them. However, Bravo's reality series, "Below Deck Sailing Yacht," takes you behind the scenes to see all the work the crew puts in. The show has just entered Season 3 and is once again following Captain Glenn Shephard and his crew throughout the charter season. There's plenty of drama, rivalries, and romances to see as the team lives and works in close quarters.

Gabriela Barragan joined the crew of Parsifal III as one of the stewardesses this season, but she's had plenty of experience on other yachts and as a bartender in the past. During an exclusive interview with The List, Barragan revealed the hardest parts of being a yachtie, and if real life on Parsifal III is as dramatic as it seems on screen. She also shared how she manages tensions with crewmates and deals with pushy guests.

What it's like having no privacy on the yacht

What first made you want to work on a yacht?

Travel, first of all, and the money. I really feel like I can do anything I put my mind to. As left-field as it probably seemed to my friends and family, for me, I was like, "This is perfect for me." I bartend, I already work in hospitality. I'd rather do this on a mega-yacht in some exotic location and save money while I'm doing it.

How did being filmed, while you were making ["Below Deck Sailing Yacht"], how did that affect the work you do?

I definitely don't think being filmed made my job any different than it normally is — only when I would bump into a camera person, or they would fall down the stairs backward on accident. I'd be like, "Oh my God, are you okay?" And then it's like, "Oh shoot, I can't talk to you." That was a little weird, not being able to talk to my other off-camera coworkers in terms of the cameramen and the sound people. Aside from that, I did my job exactly how I would on any boat.

There was a little bit of pressure to do my job extra well because there's an audience watching back home that would be like, "She didn't do that right." I wanted to represent all the boats I have worked on really well and all of the Chief Stews that I've come across during my career. I wanted to make yachties watching proud, like, "Oh, she really does know what she's doing." There's a little bit of added pressure, but I forgot the cameras were there half the time.

It looks like, when you're watching, that it's already really close quarters. Was it ever hard when you have the cameraman added into where there's already not a lot of space?

Yes, but mostly in the crew quarters, in the hallway going up the stairs to my cabin and in between the laundry room. That was the part where you're like, "Ph, excuse me. I'm going to squeeze right past ya. Pardon me. Excuse me. I got somewhere to go." In our cabins, when Ashley and I are talking while we're getting ready, and then a camera guy comes in out of nowhere, and we're like, "Ah! Oh." It's three of us in this tiny cabin and a huge camera. That was interesting.

Did you have any privacy at all while you were on the show?

There is no privacy in yachting. There is no privacy in boating. Where there are cameras in your cabin, and you're sleeping, or changing, or whatever, climbing in the bed and with your underwear on, you're just like, "Oh, there's ten people in the control room that are seeing me naked right now." You're like, "Whatever. It is what it is."

Why yacht life is 'like living with your entire family'

What's it like living in such close quarters with the rest of the crew?

It's like living with your entire family in a one-bedroom apartment, where it's so intimate. We're washing each other's underwear and then folding them neatly and putting them back in each other's bedrooms. It's such an intimate setting, and you get to know people so fast. Time moves differently on yachts. You go from zero to a hundred. You've seen everyone at their best and at their worst in a short amount of time because it's a high-pressure environment. You make friendships quicker. You fall in love quicker. You hate people quicker than you normally would. It's a Petri dish for drama.

Did you feel like you bonded pretty quickly, or got to know everyone really fast on the show? The other crew members?

I bonded right off the bat with Tom [Pearson]. I love people that make me laugh, and he's hysterical. Everything that comes out of his mouth is funny. Then Kelsie [Goglia], and I don't know if it's like a San Diego thing, but San Diego girls are different. She's down to earth, gorgeous, super smart, also very funny. She is very sweet and sensitive. She's the one you can bare your heart to, and she's going to be like, "Everything's going to be okay." I really, really fell in love with Tom and Kelsey right off the bat.

What it was like joining the Parsifal III crew

Did you ever imagine yourself being on a reality TV show?

Not really, but all my friends, my entire life, have told me that I'm made for reality TV. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but it was no surprise when I got asked to be on the show. It was like, "This makes sense." I don't do anything half-assed. It's like, go big, [or] go home. If I'm going to be dramatic, I might as well do it on television.

What were your expectations going onto the show?

Parsifal III is the largest yacht I've worked on. I was really nervous about the job. I wasn't thinking about the show. I was like, "This is another freelance, temporary contract for me on a way bigger boat." [It's] the busiest charter boat I've worked on. I was really nervous about performing well, so I didn't really have any expectations. I expected to make friends, make money and have a good time.

Was there anything about the experience that surprised you?

Everything's new, and you can't even imagine what anything like that would be like. I was surprised at all of the work that the production crew puts into this and has to [do to] make this show what it is. I was very impressed by production and all of the moving parts of making a show like this. That was the most eye-opening — getting to see behind the scenes and how this works is like mind-boggling. These people are really good at what they do. That was the most surprising. I'm really impressed with them.

Did you feel like it was a big adjustment, like you said, going into this bigger yacht, or was it pretty easy to pick it up?

No, not for me. I felt like I was trained so well on all of my previous yachts, and I have high standards, so it was like riding a bike. It's like bartending; it's muscle memory at this point. The intimidation I had working on a boat of this size wore off immediately. I'm like, "I know what I'm doing." The first thing you do when you start working on a yacht is you open every cabinet, so you know where everything is. I'm opening cabinets and finding out where things are. I was doing what I would normally do, and it all came to me, like, "Oh yeah, I'm ready for this. The size doesn't matter."

Is yacht life really as dramatic as it seems?

On the other yachts you've worked on in the past, is there really as much drama as people see on the show, or is it played up for the cameras? Is that normal just in life [on a yacht]?

Oh, the million dollar question. Everyone asks this. You can't make this s*** up, honestly. Sometimes, it's even juicier drama, and I'm eating my popcorn, like, "Ooh."

There are boat-mances that get really messy. There are power dynamic struggles. What you see on the show is exactly what happens off-camera on yachts. It's regular yachts, [but] they're discreet. What happens on this boat usually stays on the boat. People are hush-hush, no one talks about it, but the drama is 100% real and always juicy.

You said you'd be like eating popcorn, watching it. Are you usually kind of more of an observer? Like, "I'm going to watch this play out," or do you ever get involved in the drama?

I wish I was more like a Colin [Macrae], who drops a little seed in someone's head and  sits back and watches it happen. I'm more of a nurturer, and my natural maternal instincts come out when I see people having a hard time. I'm kind of an empath, so I can feel other people's pain, or anger, or frustration. I want everyone to be happy. If everyone's happy, I'm happy. I'm usually trying to give advice and speak life into people. I'm all about praising your friends, hyping people up, and that's usually the role I would play, but it does get sticky when two people are fighting, and you like both of them.

"What do I say here?" I'm never a Switzerland. I'm never neutral. I also don't pick sides. I'll break it down, tell you the truth and tell the other person the truth too. To answer your question, yes, I get involved. The long-winded way of saying that, but yeah.

Is the show accurate to what really happened?

What's it been like for you seeing the episodes back now? Is it kind of playing out how you remembered? [Even though] they have to edit it into shorter time frames, obviously.

I'm biting my nails off. What I'm seeing, I'm like, "Yes, that wasn't in my head. That was happening." Everything is playing out exactly how I remembered it, 100%. Even though I haven't seen the next episode, I have a feeling like, "Oh, I remember when that happened." I know what's going to happen on the next episode. So yeah, it's actually validating how I felt when I was in the moment to see it from everyone's perspective that I didn't hear because I was upstairs serving drinks. I'm like, "Oh, this is making more sense." It's really [about] answering a lot of questions for me and reassuring my experience.

How Gabriela stays polite when guests cross her boundaries

In the first episode, there's a part where one of the guests starts being inappropriate towards you, and you're very professional and like staying polite, but shutting it down. Is it ever difficult for you where you have to stay smiley and be kind, but at the same time, you [want to say], "You're the problem, you need to go"?

I have a pin that says "polite as f***." I am polite as f***. I could see in the clip where my body language, I look deflated, and I'm completely exhausted and over this conversation. I'm getting more and more uncomfortable in my own skin by the second, but yes, the guests shouldn't be able to tell when you're uncomfortable. The guests shouldn't be able to tell what any of the yacht crew is feeling. If they're pissed off or hungover or anything, it's our job to keep this veneer. Gary (King) would say, "Stew Face on."

It's really difficult being sexually harassed. What do you do? I feel like, again, all of my experience, in my careers before yachting, came out and like really took care of me. It wasn't me talking. It was 15 years of experience before this, naturally like, "Okay, sir, now you're crossing the line. You need to go to bed." It was very easy for me to do that, despite how uncomfortable I was. How can I politely tell him to respect me while he is disrespecting me, but without beating him down and making him feel really dumb? I know a lot of people would've been like, "I would've," but it's like, you can't do that in this setting. You have to find sneaky ways to make what you're saying sound nice. It's a skill. It's an Olympic sport. It's mental gymnastics.

And you're like the gold medalist.

Yeah. Like, where's my gold medal?

The most difficult part of working on a yacht

What would you say is the most difficult part of your job?

Maintaining interpersonal relationships with your crew. On yachts, I like the fact that it's very straightforward. If there's a problem, you have to talk about it immediately and squash it because tensions build and rise and then explode, and it's not good for anybody. That's the hardest part. Everything else to me is a piece of cake. "Oh, you want a cocktail? Sure. You want me to make a charcuterie board? Why not? I don't want to wake up chef. Want me to set up a jet ski? Fine." I can do all of that stuff quite easily. It's the maintaining healthy relationships with your coworkers, so you guys have a healthy work environment, that's the hardest part.

Do you feel like you have any like philosophy for how you go about that?

Girl, I am still trying to figure it out. I am quite an emotional person, and sometimes there's no room for feelings on a yacht. It's like, "No one cares." And I'm like, "But, but, but." I'm still figuring it out. I think I would tell any new yacht crew not to be like, "Check your feelings at the door," but work through your feelings before you make a big stink about it to everyone that's willing to lend an ear. It doesn't ever end well.

Would Gabriela come back for another season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht?

If there's a Season 4 of "Below Deck Sailing Yacht," would you think about joining the crew?

If they give me a call and ask me to film Season 4, I 100% would do it again. Absolutely, hands down. I would like to explore the option of maybe being a deckhand, because I do both. I would excel on outside. I think I'm equally both on interior or exterior. I would try to plant that seed, like, "Hey, what about bringing me back as a deckhand?" That would be really fun, but if they're like, "You're not qualified," then I'd be like, "Okay, I'm still going to do it again, so throw me where you want me."

Well, perfect. I hope you come back for Season 4.

Season 3 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
