Our VRBO host told us an excellent way to avoid spending alot of time at the airport waiting for your flight is to take the free Shuttle to the George Town Yacht Club. We decided to give it a try and it was an excellent... process. After checking our bags at the airport and returning our rental car we had a transportation person at the airport call the GTYC for the shuttle. 5 minutes later, we were on our way. The Club was very nice and the food was great. They have daily fish specials, but I ordered the Chicken Curry which was delicious. My wife ordered the Grilled Chicken Club with a side salad and it was very good as well. Overall, great food and good service at a good price. I would definitely recommend this if you have a long time between your check out time and your outbound flight. More

What great food and service! And so convenient. When you call from the airport, they send a van for you and take you back to the airport when you are finished. This is SO MUCH better than sitting in the airport for your layover and... the food was SO MUCH better than we had downtown. The food was very yummy and the drinks were delicious! We will be back!!! We had a 4 hour layover in Grand Cayman and came to the GTYC for lunch. Food is really delicious, good drinks, and nice atmosphere. There’s a pool, nice cushy seating and chickens and roosters roaming around outside by the waterfront. A much better alternative... to sitting in the airport. More

My wife and I went to Georgetown Yacht Club with high expectations based on the reviews. It started out well, drinks orders were taken, then our server visited the table a couple of times then we ordered. I ordered the Red Conch Chowder as a... starter and the chicken Curry. My wife ordered the catch of the day blackened which was the wahoo. We received our food then she wouldn’t look our way or come to the table. We didn’t know what the problem was. My wife and I both noticed how cold she had become towards us but was friendly to the other tables and we had no idea what we did. I ordered a beer and then a different server came to our table with the beer and water. No explanation as to why the other server stopped serving us. The food was okay, the service was terrible. Unfortunately this restaurant automatically puts on a 15% gratuity as I’d had given less for the service. We go out for a meal and we don’t expect to be treated like that. They won’t see us again! The name on the bill was Diana A. But that may have been the replacement server. More

I recently visited Grand Cayman, had a great time. I had a few hours layover and the concierge at the airport told us about the george town yacht club, what a gem! The shuttle driver James gave us a few jokes and a little run... down on the island before we left. I will definately be back! More

My husband and I had a wonderful Valentine's Day dinner. The food was superb. We tried Lion Fish for the first time and absolutely loved it. Good service and beautiful view, nice mix of locals and expats. Definitely will be back!

Our family has just arrived at Grand Cayman and we were hungry. We asked at the rental car agency and they told us to check out the George Town Yacht Club. It was very close to the airport. The view was excellent and the food... good. It was nice to look out at the marina and have some fresh seafood. There were many locals eating in the restaurant. The food was pricey for what we got but we would definitely go back. My wife got the fish tacos and I got a fish sandwich. More

This place does not disappoint. There is a large menu and the food is excellent. The calamari is the best on island. Choose at on the fish dishes, they are great. Like it spicy ask for the Cayman pepper sauce, and take it up a... notch. More

The George Town Yacht Club was our first stop after leaving the airport. We had a great meal before heading to our condo. We were early so couldn’t check in yet so had a drink and got some food. The view of the marina was... very nice. It wasn’t as nice as the views in Seven Mile Beach but we were happy to be on the water. We walked around after being cooped up in an airplane. The food was all very good. I got a seafood sampler and my wife got the Maui Maui. The portions were all very large. We had leftovers to go. The staff was very friendly. We will come back for sure. Our friend wanted to try this place for dinner. I tried their rum punch and chicken curry. They were both absolutely delicious and I would recommend this restaurant! The staff is courteous, the atmosphere pleasant, and the prices are very reasonable.

I would like to make a complain for the poor and inefficient service rendered by George Town Yacht Club. We booked a reservation for my son's birthday party weeks prior the event and when we came back and get to finalize and agree on everything,... on our way home few minutes after we left they called to inform the date was already taken. We were greatly disappointed at the bad service of your establishment. we already sent out all invitations to our guests and made all necessary arrangements but unfortunately all they did was to cancel our booking. It was certainly the worst experience that could happen for a well planned and anticipated party. Now we only have 3 more days left to fix and sort everything out. One could only imagine how stressful that could be. I hope you shall take the appropriate disciplinary actions to ensure no repeat of such bad experience to your guests. i will not recommend this place to anyone i know of. Definitely there's a lot more better place in Cayman than this. More

I placed an order for pick up (ravioli) and when I went to pick it up, it was ready but the server did not print a cheque and just verbally told me the amount. I handed over the amount $26 and rounded up to $30... for a tip. I took my order away and when I went to eat it, there were four tiny pieces of ravioli there. I was so disappointed and when I finished it, I called to check - maybe I had received the wrong order by mistake? I like to give people the benefit of the doubt but the person I spoke to on the phone did not care at all, she told me that was the correct order and made no apology or anything. $30 for 4 pieces of ravioli means $7.5 per piece. I also found out that the gratuity had already been included and so the person who refused to print a cheque for me just pocketed essentially $10 of my order. I think he did that on purpose. In short, two members of staff failed to provide good service and the food portion was tiny and not worth the price. More

First time for us here and it lived up to the praise. Decided on the spur of the moment to go for lunch given all the positive reviews. Busy with more locals than tourists as it is not located close to condos and hotels, but... overlooking a marina near the airport. They have a free shuttle to and from airport for those wanting a good meal before departing, upon landing, or waiting for arriving passengers. After reading about how so many prefer cracked conch to conch frittters, how could I not place an order for those??? OMG! I am hooked! Husband generally resists trying new foods, but was urged to take a small bite and ended up eating more than half of my order....not a problem since a si gel order is really generous! Along with the cracked conch I had a pizza (more than half was boxed and brought back to the condo for reheating), he loved his grilled fish accompanied by sides of rice and vegetables. My GTYC signature Rum punch was awesome with more than a hint of mango juice and he was happy to chose from many of his favorite beers. Well worth going out of your way a bit to enjoy a meal at GTYC! More

GTYC is consistently good food, and atmosphere. prices are good and portions are big. If your looking for good food close for boating and a before flight meal. GTYC is your place.

We took advantage of the shuttle from the airport and had lunch here before departure. The shuttle was fast and efficient (however we had to have someone cal for us because we didn’t have cell service). Food was amazing- best cracked conch and rum punch... I’ve ever had! Service was fast and the shuttle knew about what time we would be finished and was waiting to take us back to the airport. Definitely recommend. More

The George Town Yacht Club (GTYC) is located on the waterfront at The Barcadere Marina, Grand Cayman. It is the perfect place to relax after a day out on the water, unwind after a day in the office, share your fish stories or hang out with good friends. The Club is conveniently located near the airport and is a great pit stop for breakfast or lunch before a flight. The menu is appealing to all tastes with an emphasis on fresh seafood, from conch ceviche to fresh lobster, and their famous flame-grilled dishes are served daily with your choice of local sides. Of course, lunchtime favourites such as the succulent pulled pork sandwich are offered, and for those with a lighter palate, the local tomato and mozzarella salad is outstanding. GTYC is an ideal place to host parties and events and the clubhouse is available to individuals, companies, service clubs and other organizations to host fishing tournaments, birthday, Christmas and New Years Eve parties, business meetings, seminars, wedding receptions, charitable and cultural events or any other casual or formal function.
