52 FLY - The Absolute Direction

The Absolute 52 FLY is a new direction, a ground-breaking example of marine architecture that offers Absolute’s trademark features, including many that are found only on much larger yachts.

Everything was designed to ensure an exceptional cruising experience, with sensations of comfort and space heightened by ample headroom , a minimal use of steps, extensive glazing and countless design details that facilitate life on board for guests and crew.

The 52 FLY’s stunning flybridge is a luxurious platform for enjoying the sea from a lofty viewpoint. The helm station , complete with ergonomic seats and large MFDs offering fingertip control of all onboard systems, is accompanied by settees so that the owner-captain can enjoy good company even when at the controls. With a dining table , a galley and bar unit , the flybridge is a privileged location for life on board, where moments of total relaxation can be enjoyed on its stern terrace area with modular furnishing.

The cockpit terrace , always a highlight of Absolute yachts, is a flexible space that pampers guests from morning to evening. Its modular furniture can be arranged as required, and the adjustable shades ensure comfort as the day progresses. There is easy access to the stern platform for close contact with the sea, and magical moments at sunset can be accompanied by the delights prepared in the nearby wet bar and galley. Absolute’s attention to the best possible views can be seen in the glazed stern parapet and the open gunwale design.

The use of extensive glazing , a familiar Absolute trademark, is particularly visible in the saloon , from where there are fantastic 360-degree views. In addition to air conditioning, natural ventilation can be provided by the electrically-controlled vertically sliding windows. The galley is fully equipped, and, unusually for boats of this size, there is also a spacious pantry .

The main helm station , in direct contact with the saloon, is in a position that ensures optimum visibility, and it features advanced infotronics and comprehensive on-screen monitoring of all on-board systems. A door is conveniently placed for rapid transit from the main helm station to the lateral walkway, facilitating harbour manoeuvres.

The bow location of the master cabin ensures peace, silence and privacy. Its full-beam layout optimises space, with a large double berth accessible from all three sides, extensive cupboards and storage units, and a superb marble bathroom .

The VIP guest cabin midships could in every way be considered a second master, in terms of space, headroom, en-suite bathroom and finish. The third guest cabin has an electricalsystem, fitted as standard, for seamless transformation from twin berths to double. In addition, there is a versatile crew cabin , with practical access from the stern platform.

All in all, the 52 FLY, a paragon of technology, design and performance, is the perfect expression of Absolute’s direction : exploring new routes and navigating to the next level of comfort.

GULFSTREAM YACHTS 52

The Gulfstream Yachts 52 is a luxury fishing and cruising yacht that combines the maneuverability of a center-console with the benefits of a sportfish. The walk-around center-console has a large air-conditioned/heated enclosure that includes the helm, dining area, seating, and access to the cabin. Thanks to the 15' beam, there are still very wide walkways around the enclosure as well as convenient handlebars for moving around the outside of the boat safely. The 52 was born from the collaboration between two of the most highly respected superyacht architects in the industry - Ward Setzer and Michael Peters Yacht Design. The result is a truly unique and innovative center-console hybrid that maximizes your comfort on the water.

The stepped "V" Ventilated Tunnel (SVVT) hull technology provides increased speed, better fuel efficiency, and a flatter running angle for incredible performance on calm or rough water. Known for their patented SVVT designs, there was no question for Ward Setzer or MPYD as to whether the hull should be stepped. "The ride on the Gulfstream 52 is unlike any other center-console yacht I've been on," said Paul MacCormack, United Yacht Sales Gulfstream Brand Manager. "The boat is extremely fast and very smooth. And best of all, everyone on board can enjoy the ride from inside the enclosure or relax on the over-sized sunpad lounge on the bow. It's the best of both worlds."

The below deck cabin can be reached without ever having to go outside and features a head  with a shower along with a large seating area that becomes a king size bed. An additional benefit of the air-conditioned enclosure is that it can be used as a second bedroom since the u-shaped seating area converts to a queen size bed. The large cockpit and forward Sunpad provide ample outdoor space. We also offer the options of our removable forward seating and / or a gigantic rear bench spanning the width of the entire cockpit if you would like to entertain an even larger number of passengers. The Gulfstream 52 was also chosen to appear on a TV show called Discovering Water with Flip Pallot !

In addition to the focus on comfort, the 52 remains true to our longstanding obsession with safety. The boat is built using our unsinkable construction techniques and was designed with wide passageways and high gunnel walls to allow safe and easy access to all areas of the boat. We have also incorporated many redundant systems as an added measure of protection.

Every one of our boats is built for a specific customer and they are HIGHLY customizable. For instance, the standard layout of the 52 has a door on each side of the glass enclosure but one customer ordered their boat with a single rear door instead of the two side doors. We can tailor the boat toward a fishing-oriented layout or more of a cruising configuration and we offer such options as custom hard tops, custom paint jobs, teak wood bow rails and teak cockpit surrounds, any interior finishes that you would like, etc.

The boat is 52 feet long, has a beam of 15 feet and a dry weight including motors of approximately 28,000 pounds. The fuel capacity is 1,000 gallons. The boat can be powered with three to five outboard motors and the top speed ranges from 50MPH with quad 350 horsepower motors up to 70MPH with quad Seven Marine 627 horsepower motors.

Absolute Yachts’ most recent model is the 52 Fly, which rolled out at the 2023 Miami International Boat Show. From the first step aboard, it was clear the Italian builder had sweated not only the details, but also pushed the genre ahead of its competition.

The hull’s glazing, resembling a short, tanto-bladed knife and a vertical bow up front, also added to the contemporary design. Undulating LED lighting inlays in the cockpit overhang imparted a cool, sophisticated look to the space. At the same time, a starboard-side docking station spoke to this boat’s bona fides as a serious cruising machine.

The salon also had design touches that one might not expect to find on a 52-ft. semi-custom build. The aft galley had a four-burner Bosch cooktop and a six-foot-tall, stacked refrigerator and freezer that is useful for longer trips. The drawers all had chic leather tabs as handles, extending a beach-like, elegant vibe to the space.

The starboard-side helm was another place onboard that feels just a little bit different than the standard offerings in this size and class.

Twin Garmin screens were angled off in a small arc, as opposed to facing straight back, which gave them a slightly futuristic feel. Tightly stitched helix patterns in the seat-backs of the helm chairs pointed towards a high level of fit and finish.

A sturdy door next to the helm led to the side deck. Perhaps most important for the helmsperson, the Volvo Penta joystick control was maneuverable while standing on that side deck. The joystick and cockpit control station should make docking this boat easier than a conventional setup.

One of the other significant layouts was the flybridge. Absolute managed to make it look stylish and large, without appearing top heavy. The design included a large forward lounge surrounding the helm station, with back-to-front seats to port, and an L-shaped lounge extending back to the transom, with a center dining table. The side island with fridge can also double as a serving station. The overhead hardtop had an opening center window, and stereo speakers were embedded into the bridge.

Our final impression after a tour aboard: The Absolute 52 Fly was more than the sum of its parts. The boat was full-featured without looking crowded, but also highly functional. This 52-footer was clearly ready for a weekend cruise or extended voyage. The Italian builder proved that a well-conceived design makes for a well-rounded boat.

52 Pilothouse

Stylish and comfortable.

The first Apollonian model is a 52’ pilothouse with a 16’ 10” beam and wide walk-arounds. It has a massive interior, spacious salon aft of the galley, dinette, three huge staterooms, two heads, and a day head in the pilothouse. The traditional raised pilothouse layout has proven to be a functional standard in comfort and onboard livability.

The interior features abundant American cherry, including book matched burled cabinet tops. The galley is fully furnished with household-sized stainless-steel appliances and plenty of storage. Three large cabins include a full-beam master suite with a queen-sized bed and ensuite head. The large VIP has a queen bed and direct access to an ensuite head. The third cabin is a bunk cabin complete with a nightstand and hanging locker. A full-sized washer and separate dryer are in the foyer on the cabin deck. A convenient day head is adjacent the pilothouse and galley.

A large open flybridge is accessed by an internal floating stairway. The flybridge includes a second helm station, an al fresco dining table with seating, a wet bar, and electric BBQ. There is also plenty of room to lounge on the aft flybridge deck or to stow a RIB. A large sun pad rounds out the bridge-deck accommodations.

The engine room is clean and uncluttered, with great access. Twin 6.7 liter Cummins engines provide very comfortable cruise speeds of 15-21+ knots. Vessel purchase includes an extensive one-year new boat warranty plus a worldwide Cummins factory warranty on the engines.

The Gulf Crosser 52 is arguably one of the most recognizable boats on the market and has created an entirely new category by combining the benefits of a traditional center console boat with the protection of an enclosed boat. It's a serious fishing machine but with a level of comfort that makes the boat ideal for many other uses, too. The most distinguishing feature of the 52 is the air-conditioned upper salon with a solid glass enclosure surrounding the helm and passenger seating area. This climate-controlled haven offers panoramic views and allows you to operate the boat in any type of weather conditions that you might encounter during your outings on the water. Gone are the days of hesitating to enjoy a lunch or dinner cruise aboard your center console boat out of fear that it might storm on your way home. 

Gulf Crosser Yachts collaborated with renowned superyacht designers  Setzer Yacht Architects  and  Michael Peters Yacht Design  to bring this remarkable vessel to life and give it the ideal blend of style and performance. The patented Stepped "V" Ventilated Tunnel (SVVT) hull technology introduces a cushion of air under a portion of the running surface to increase speed and fuel efficiency while also maintaining control and stability. The little details such as the overhanging edges of the salon superstructure with courtesy lighting below, the hidden speakers, or the clean lines where everything clearly has its place gives the boat a feel you would normally only expect to find on a much larger yacht.

We have always found that passengers prefer to spend the majority of their time on the main deck, especially while underway, so a key element of the 52's design was to place as much of the overall square footage as possible on that deck level. The massive cockpit, huge sunpad, and forward seating area offer ample open-air space when the weather is nice while the climate-controlled upper salon provides a welcome retreat when you want to escape the elements. The cockpit includes a refrigerator, freezer, grill, sink, and ice maker which, combined with the included diesel generator, enables the boat to be completely self-sufficient so that you can easily spend a few nights aboard at a remote island. The salon and helm area features a large seating area with a table where passengers can sit and enjoy the scenery without impeding the captain’s ability to use either of the two side doors to move about the boat freely. While the glass enclosure provides outstanding protection from heat, cold or rain, customers tell us that the thing they appreciate the most is the fact that there is no wind fatigue even after running at high speed for long periods of time.

The lower cabin of the 52 can be reached from the upper salon without ever having to venture outside so that you can remain protected from the elements for hours at a time if desired. Once below, you will find a comfortable seating area that converts to either a king size bed or two single beds, along with a restroom and a shower. There is also a partial galley with a microwave, coffee bar, and refrigerator to complement the larger outdoor galley up in the cockpit.  It’s the perfect place to make a quick sandwich or grab a cold drink when you don’t want to head outside.  Rather than including a small second stateroom in the lower cabin, the 52 takes advantage of the air-conditioned upper salon to provide a spacious additional sleeping area. The large table in that upper salon quickly and easily lowers to convert the seating area to a queen size bed. Our electronic switchable glass option provides privacy for the space with the touch of a button and also allows you to turn the entire back window into a massive movie screen.

In addition to the focus on comfort, the 52 continues our longstanding obsession with safety. The boat is built using our foam-filled construction techniques and was designed with high gunnel walls, wide passageways, and a single level deck from bow to stern to allow safe and easy access to all areas of the boat. We use three-piece construction as opposed to the less expensive two-piece construction method used by many of our competitors because the toe kick space provided by a three-piece boat is far superior for anglers and passengers alike since it doesn't direct your weight outward when leaning against the side walls of the boat. The helm was designed so that the captain can easily see over the bow even when the sunpad is occupied which is fairly unique compared to almost any other center console boat with a sunpad integrated into the front of the console. The base cushions of our sunpads are placed much lower than those of most of our competitors because we want to eliminate the possibility of passengers falling from a high spot if you happen to encounter an unexpected wave. We have also incorporated many redundant systems as an added measure of protection. And, our industry pioneering “Navigator Station” puts a third Garmin screen across the aisle from the helm so that another person can watch the FLIR or radar feed, enter a waypoint, or change the radio station without ever distracting the captain.

The Gulf Crosser 52 was designed for standalone use and also to be the ultimate multipurpose yacht tender because you can fish and dive from the boat in the morning and then ferry guests to shore later that evening while keeping them sheltered from the weather. After the yacht tender operations are done for the day, the boat can then be used to provide accommodations for extra crew. 

Finally, the Gulf Crosser 52 was designed to be highly customizable which allows us to also offer the boat in a number of additional configurations in case you need additional staterooms, want even more open space, or prefer a traditional center console arrangement. Making Waves: The Viking 52 Convertible is another impressive addition to our world renowned stable of blue-water tournament contenders. As you would expect from Viking, this model evolves from the introductions before it including the Viking 42, the Viking 55 and the Viking 62. In our commitment to build a better boat every day it is insufficient to merely add a fresh face to the line up unless it incorporates the latest treatments and engineering milestones and the Viking 52 has all this and more.   The resin infused hull boasts a sophisticated matrix of composite materials including end-grain balsa coring, DuPont Kevlar, and knitted fiberglass laminates. The one-piece deckhouse assembly stretching from the bow pulpit to the inner transom liner features carbon fiber in its composite structure. A molded fiberglass forepeak liner forward of the engine room sheds weight by incorporating the outer walls and floor, the lower port bunk, the sink base module and the shower pan for both heads, and the forward starboard bunk base. Maple lined interior hanging locker doors and cabinet and drawer fronts utilize a lightweight honeycomb core material.   Continuing along its evolutionary trail, the forward entry is sharpened to knife through head seas. The convex hull shape adds buoyancy and molded strakes on the bottom provide lift for planing efficacy. As a whole, these hull and the V-bottom features and the 11.8 degree transom deadrise, utilize horsepower most efficiently for better speed and faster throttle response in keeping with the theme of all new Vikings.   The three-stateroom, two-head layout offers a choice of sleeping arrangements in the bow. The standard layout features crossover berths with the lower a double bunk and the upper port side berth a large single. This will be the stateroom layout on hull number one. A second plan is available offering a custom queen berth. On both versions, the master is fitted with a walk-around queen bed and is served with a private head and shower.
