  • Track the ride as it arrives in real-time.

A traditional taxi service is also available.

8 pro tips for disney’s yacht club in walt disney world.

Posted by: Jennifer Nelson September 20, 2016

disney yacht club monorail

If you’re looking for a peaceful, waterside resort that’s just a short walk from the magic of the Walt Disney World theme parks, the nautical New England-style Yacht Club might be the resort for you. Here are eight of our pro tips to help you get the most out of your stay at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.

8. You can walk to the theme parks.

Okay, so this is a big one. While some deluxe Walt Disney World resorts like the Polynesian and Contemporary have become known as “monorail resorts” because they’re just a quick monorail ride to the gates of the Magic Kingdom or Epcot, the Yacht Club is located just a short walk (or boat ride) between you and all the fun. If you and your kiddos love Epcot (or Hollywood Studios!) then the Yacht Club might just be the perfect resort for your family. The resort is within a 10-minute walk or quick boat ride to Epcot, or you can also take a leisurely 20-minute stroll or catch a boat over to Hollywood Studios.

7. You can sail your own ship.

Along with recreational activities like volleyball and tennis, a stay at the lakeside Yacht Club means that you’ll have easy access to watercraft rentals. You can become the captain of your own ship when you rent a motorized boat from Bayside Marina, from private mini-powerboats for an intimate evening for two to Sun Tracker pontoon boats for special group outings.

6. Take a pirate adventure.

Speaking of sailing, parents of young buccaneers can arrange a once-in-a-lifetime nautical experience during their stay at the Yacht Club. There are kids-only Pirate Adventure Cruises that sail from the Yacht Club to exotic “ports of call,” and all while kids get to learn pirate legends, discover hidden treasure, and gather pirate booty to take home. Targeted towards children ages 4 to 12, there are four two-hour cruises available to allow kids the opportunity to ride on a seasoned vessel in the pursuit of treasure.

5. Spend some time at the Yacht Club’s sister resort.

The Yacht Club is closely connected to its sister resort—the Beach Club resort—which means that guests are welcome to take advantage of all of the shared amenities between the two resorts. You can, of course, grab a bite in popular restaurants at the Beach Club, like Cape May Café, but many guests may not realize that you’re also welcome to take advantage of amenities like the fitness center or salon and spa.

4. Take time to appreciate the architecture.

Many of the resorts on Walt Disney Resort have fascinating stories, and while the yacht Club’s opulent nautical theme is beautiful, you may want to read up on its rich architectural history before you go. Designed by architect Robert A.M. Stern, the resort was envisioned to look like a turn-of-the-century seaside town in the Mid-Atlantic or New England (think Cape May and Coney Island). Stern wanted it to feel like a “village across the water”— a tranquil, relaxing getaway right outside the excitement of the Walt Disney World theme parks.

3. Play some sports.

Okay, so walking the theme parks can be exhausting, but if you’re planning a day to explore the resort during your vacation, be sure to take advantage of all of the active, outdoorsy recreational offerings. At the Yacht Club resort, guests can play volleyball or tennis, compete in 18 holes on the miniature golf course next door, or take a quick run along one of several jogging trails.

2. Go for a swim (or a slide).

Families love the Yacht Club because its home to Stormalong Bay, a three-acre swimming complex that features a life-size shipwreck. The Yacht Club’s pool boasts the tallest waterslide at all of the resorts on the Walt Disney World property, and you won’t want to miss the sand that covers the bottom of the pool’s crystal clear water. Little ones can splash the day away in a kiddie pool (complete with a miniature waterslide so nobody feels left out), while adult visitors can relax in the lazy river, whirlpool spas, or on the elevated tanning deck.

1. See the Fireworks.

If you’re celebrating a special occasion, you can book a specialty cruise to watch the evening fireworks on Crescent Lake during your stay at the Yacht Club. But for a more relaxed (and free!) experience, you can also view Epcot’s spectacular IllumiNations fireworks show—and enjoys the bright lights of the BoardWalk Resort—from a swing on the beach or from a bench on the beachfront promenade at the resort.

Transportation Options at Disney’s Beach Club (What You Need to Know)

When it comes to transportation options at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, you’ll find more than a few! Below, we’ll discuss how to get from Disney’s Beach Club to the theme parks, Disney Springs, water parks, popular destinations, and more.

You can use any of the links to get to a specific section more quickly:

  • How to Get from Disney’s Beach Club to Magic Kingdom
  • How to Get from Disney’s Beach Club to Epcot
  • How to Get from Disney’s Beach Club to Hollywood Studios
  • How to Get from Disney’s Beach Club to Animal Kingdom
  • How to Get from Disney’s Beach Club to Disney Springs

Often, I’ve found myself waiting for a bus at Disney’s Beach Club. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen other guests sitting there waiting like me. Only, they are waiting for a bus that’s not coming.

For example, one morning, we were at the bus stop bright and early. A large family who were in a hurry to get to breakfast at Akershus arrived. After a few moments of waiting, they began asking if anyone knew how to get to Akershus once they got to the park.

Since they asked, I intervened and explained that they first needed to exit the bus stop and walk back to the resort. Then, I continued with the rest of the directions. (You can walk to Epcot from the Beach Club. There isn’t a bus.)

The saying, “If you don’t know, you don’t know,” has become common in my life.

We can all agree that there are many things that many of us don’t know. However, I know a lot about getting around Disney’s Beach Club from practice.

Therefore, I thought we would go over the basics for using the transportation options at Disney’s Beach Club. Hopefully, these tips will help you efficiently navigate the area.

Transportation Options at Disney’s Beach Club

The following modes of transportation are available at Disney’s Beach Club:

  • Friendship Boats
  • Disney Bus Service
  • (The Skyliner is within walking distance.)

Below, we’ll look at the best ways to get to and from Disneys Beach Club, including the most direct routes. Here are a few of the routes we’ll look at below:

  • How to get from the Beach Club to Epcot
  • Traveling from the Beach Club to Hollywood Studios
  • The Best Way to get from Disney’s Beach Club to Magic Kingdom
  • How to get to Disney’s Animal Kingdom from the Beach Club
  • Getting to Disney Springs from the Beach Club

Additionally, I’ll share a few tips for traveling from the Beach Club to other popular destinations. Some of those destinations include the water parks, Disney’s Boardwalk, and resorts in the Magic Kingdom area .

How to Get to Epcot from Disney’s Beach Club

Location is often the primary reason guests stay at Disney’s Beach Club. It takes approximately five minutes to walk between the Beach Club and Epcot.

Of course, that walk depends on how fast or slow you walk and which exit you use when leaving the resort. But most will come and go from the resort lobby.

exiting the lobby to walk from Beach Club to Epcot

First, exit the Beach Club and walk out to the pathway along Crescent Lake. Then, you’ll take a left and walk straight to Epcot’s International Gateway , Epcot’s back entrance. You’ll have a beautiful view of Disney’s Boardwalk across the lake.

view of Crescent Lake when walking to Epcot

It’s much easier to enter the park at the International Gateway than the front entrance. However, it is crowded here at certain times, especially at rope drop first thing in the morning.

Guests who use this secondary entrance are visiting from the surrounding Epcot Resorts and Skyliner Resorts . Meanwhile, guests of the other Walt Disney World Resorts and off-property guests enter via the park’s front entrance.

So, there is a significant difference in crowds between the two entrances. For reference, Epcot is the only park with multiple entrances.

If you prefer not to walk to Epcot, you can take Disney’s Friendship Boat service from the Yacht Club’s dock to Epcot. However, this route is significantly longer and requires an additional stop.

Exiting the Beach Club, you’ll take a right on the walkway and head to the lighthouse. I haven’t timed it exactly, but there isn’t much difference between walking to the boat dock versus walking to Epcot.

Once you reach the lighthouse, you’ll board the boat on the left-hand side of the dock. This boat then travels across the lake to Disney’s Boardwalk, where it will load and unload before moving on to Epcot.

Disney’s Beach Club to Hollywood Studios

You can get to and from Disney’s Beach Club to Hollywood Studios via the Friendship Boat Service or walk. However, the walk to Hollywood Studios might be considerably long for some.

It takes approximately 17 minutes to walk from Disney’s Beach Club to Hollywood Studios at an average pace. When you leave Beach Club, you’ll take a right on the pathway along Crescent Lake.

Then, you’ll head toward Disney’s Swan and Dolphin. At the center of the bridge, you’ll take a slight left toward Hollywood Studios. (If you take a hard left, you’ll end up at Disney’s Boardwalk. However, this will be pretty obvious.)

We have a separate article detailing walking between the two parks if you want to learn more: Walking Between Hollywood Studios and Epcot .

Sign shows directional for walking from Beach Club to Hollywood Studios.

Walking is one of the nicest ways to decompress after leaving the parks. Or you can always stretch your legs in preparation for the day first thing in the morning.

However, given the long walk, most guests prefer to take the Friendship Boats to Hollywood Studios. Even I take them from time to time when it’s miserably hot.

So when you leave Beach Club, you’ll walk to the boat dock at the lighthouse. Those going to Hollywood Studios will board on the right-hand side of the dock.

After boarding, you’ll stop at Disney’s Swan and Dolphin before heading to Hollywood Studios. While the boat ride to Hollywood Studios is usually quicker than walking, waiting for the next boat’s arrival can take time. Additionally, you’ll have to make that extra hotel stop on the way.

Disney’s Beach Club to Magic Kingdom

You’ll leave the resort’s front entrance when heading to Magic Kingdom from Disney’s Beach Club. From there, you’ll stay to the left and enter this covered walkway leading to the bus stop at Disney’s Beach Club.

walkway from the lobby to the resort bus stop at Disney's Beach Club

Signage is available that indicates where the buses travel. You might also note that the sign mentions you’ll need to take boats or use the walkways to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

Sign reads Disney's Beach Club bus to Magic Kingdom and lists other destinations.

Bus transportation is shared with Disney’s Yacht Club. It stops at the Yacht Club, Beach Club, and Magic Kingdom. So, on the way back, the bus will stop at Yacht Club before the Beach Club.

Since the resorts are connected, you can exit at Yacht Club and take the back walkway by Stormalong Bay . It’s a pleasant walk and often nice to get off a crowded bus. But if you’re exhausted, you’ll likely want to wait for the Beach Club. It will only take a few more minutes to get there.

Disney’s Beach Club to Disney’s Animal Kingdom

You’ll also catch a bus from Disney’s Beach Club to the theme park when visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It takes approximately 10 minutes to travel between the resort and the theme park.

disney yacht club monorail

Disney’s Beach Club to Disney Springs

You will also take a bus from Disney’s Beach Club to Disney Springs. Often, this route is shared between all three of the Epcot Resorts. It is not uncommon for the bus to stop at Disney’s Yacht Club, Beach Club, and then Disney’s Boardwalk Inn before heading to Disney Springs.

Thankfully, the route is short, and the stops are typically quick. I always feel like it’s usually not a big deal if you expect the stop and a few extra minutes. But if you don’t know the bus makes extra stops, it can feel like it’s taking forever.

If you’re visiting over Christmas, Easter, or some other frightfully busy time of year, you probably won’t make extra stops at the Boardwalk. However, throughout the slower times of the day, the buses are almost always shared between Yacht and Beach Club.

Wait Times and Bus Hours for Disney’s Beach Club

Per Disney, “ Bus service between Disney Resort Hotels and Disney Theme Parks  begins 45 minutes prior to opening and ends one hour after closing.” That time includes extended theme park hours in the morning for resort guests and extended evening hours for deluxe resort guests.

Wait times are posted at the bus stop. These times are transmitted from the bus, so they are accurate. From time to time, you will see the time fluctuate. That happens when a bus is delayed. For example, they might stop at a traffic light.

Accessibility at Disney’s Beach Club

Most transportation options at Disney’s Beach Club accommodate guests with accessibility needs. Disney provides an overview of each form of transportation on their website.

All bus stops have a separate spot for guests in wheelchairs and ECVs to wait. Additionally, the Friendship Boats accommodate most wheelchairs and ECVs.

Disney has an excellent resource on their site if you want to learn more:  Transportation and Mobility Disabilities at Disney World

More Transportation Tips for Disney’s Beach Club

One of the things we’ve yet to discuss is how to get to Disney’s Water Parks from the Beach Club Resort. Most of the time, you’ll have to take a bus from the resort to another location. Then, you’ll transfer to another bus to the water park.

For Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, you’ll take a bus to Disney Springs. From there, you’ll board a bus that travels across the street to the water park.

You’ll take a bus to Disney’s Animal Kingdom for Blizzard Beach. There, you’ll board another bus that travels directly to Blizzard Beach.

I think it’s fairly easy to get to the water parks. However, by the end of the day, it feels like a hassle to return to the resort.

We almost always drive our car to the water park so we can come and go at our leisure. You might consider taking the bus on your way and ordering a Minnie Van or a car service on the way back.

I mention this because you’ll get dropped off at the main bus stop at Disney Springs. Then, you’ll have to walk to the pick-up area and find the return bus stop to Disney’s Beach Club.

I don’t know about you, but I carry more to the water parks than to the regular parks. So I hate to tote all my belongings, including wet swimsuits, back to the bus stop.

Tip: Bring a pair of dry clothes to change into after you leave. When you return to the resort, you do not want to be in damp clothes on a bus with the air-conditioning turned up full-blast.

Beach Club to Disney’s Boardwalk

Those staying at Disney’s Beach Club will likely visit Disney’s Boardwalk at least once during their vacation. You’ll have two options for getting to the Boardwalk.

First, you can walk. It takes about 10 minutes at a leisurely pace. Or you can take the Friendship Boat (on the Epcot side) over and exit at the Boardwalk. This will only take a few minutes, plus however long you have to wait for the boat.

Disney's Boardwalk as seen from Disney's Beach Club

Disney’s Beach Club to the Monorail Resorts

Additionally, most guests will want to visit the monorail resorts for dining or touring. There are several ways you can do this from the Beach Club.

Personally, I would take a bus from Disney’s Beach Club to Magic Kingdom. From there, you will have to walk through security at Magic Kingdom. Then you can walk, boat, or monorail to the following resorts:

  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort (walk, boat, monorail)
  • Disney’s Polynesian Resort (boat, monorail, technically can walk via the Grand Floridian walkway to Magic Kingdom)
  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort (walk or monorail)
  • Disney’s Wilderness Lodge (boat)

Alternatively, you can walk or boat to Hollywood Studios from the Beach Club. After you get to Hollywood Studios, you can catch a bus to any of the Magic Kingdom Resorts .

Using the Skyliner When Staying at Disney’s Beach Club

Lastly, I wanted to share a few tips for using the Skyliner during your stay at Disney’s Beach Club. Skyliner stations are available at Epcot’s International Gateway and Hollywood Studios.

For example, if you want to take the Skyliner to Hollywood Studios, you can do so. However, it won’t be any quicker than the Friendship Boats. This is something you would do more for leisure than convenience.

The Skyliner travels in this direction:

  • Epcot’s International Gateway (Sits outside the park entrance.)
  • Disney’s Riviera Resort (You are not required to exit here.)
  • Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort (Everyone must exit here.)
  • Then get in line for Hollywood Studios. (Or get in line for Art of Animation and Pop Century)

All guests must exit at Hollywood Studios. From there, you can turn around and travel back in the opposite direction if desired.

Final Thoughts on Transportation at Disney’s Beach Club

Hopefully, this article provided a few tips for using transportation on your Walt Disney World vacation . Understandably, Disney is a large place.

Beyond the Monorail: 13 Things to Know About Getting Around Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World Monorail

Pop quiz: Where can you find Florida’s third largest bus fleet?

Correct answer: Disney World .

With a bus fleet that’s third in size to the cities of Miami and Jacksonville, Disney World offers resort guests complimentary transportation.

Guests can forgo renting a car and take advantage of the bus service, plus get around via boats and monorails. Plus, getting to the resort from Orlando International Airport isn’t much of an issue with included motor coach transportation, including luggage transfers.

So what’s there to know about a transportation system that covers an area that’s twice the size of Manhattan? Here’s the scoop.

1.  All of the Disney-owned-and-operated hotels are served by the resort’s bus service. Transportation from the resorts to the four theme parks and Disney Springs is direct, so there’s no need to make a transfer. However, to get to other resort hotels from your own hotel, you’ll have to make a transfer. This can be done by taking a bus from your hotel to one of the theme parks, to the Ticket and Transportation Center, or to Disney Springs and catching another bus to your destination.

For example, if you’re staying at Disney’s Coronado Springs and have dining reservations at a restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge , you can take a bus from the hotel to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and transfer to a bus that’s heading to the hotel.

Sometimes you can even make a transfer using a boat or monorail. For instance, if you need to get from Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort to Disney’s Yacht Club , which can be accessed by boat, take a bus from the first hotel to Disney’s Hollywood Studios . From that theme park, switch to the nearby boat that makes a stop at the Yacht Club.

2.  One of the conveniences of staying at a Magic Kingdom -area hotel is the proximity to Disney World’s first and most popular park. These hotels are on the Magic Kingdom monorail loop – most of them anyway. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Villas , and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Cabins and Campsites are considered Magic Kingdom-area hotels but do not have monorail service. They do, however, have boat access to the park in addition to bus pickups. Disney’s Grand Floridian and Villas , the Contemporary and Bay Lake Tower , and Polynesian Village  and Villas and Bungalows  resorts all have monorail access.

3.  Several Epcot -area hotels have boat service to both Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Yacht Club, Beach Club and Villas , BoardWalk Inn and Villas , and the Swan and Dolphin are such properties. Bus transportation between these parks and hotels is not provided. Taking a boat to Epcot will leave you in the World Showcase section of the park, meaning you’ll have to do a bit of walking if you’d like to start your visit in Future World, near the park entrance. Buses provide service to the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

4.  Think again if you thought you’d be headed straight to your destination once you get on the bus. Disney often groups nearby resorts on a single bus route. For example, you may find that after boarding your bus headed to the Magic Kingdom from Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter that it makes multiple stops at sister resort Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside . You should also know that the buses may fill up quickly and there may not be any seats left when this occurs. Similarly, the Epcot-area hotels that we mentioned earlier are on the same bus loop. Keep in mind that your bus may make multiple stops on the way back to the hotel as well.

5.  If you prefer to get to the parks at least a half-hour before opening to beat the crowds, know that bus service starts an hour before the gates officially open. Bus service continues until one hour after the parks close. Buses run from Disney Springs to the resorts until 2 a.m. To avoid crowds at the bus stop, don’t wait until the last minute to exit the parks.

6.  It seems logical that because the Magic Kingdom and Epcot have monorail access that park hopping between them would be simple, right? Unfortunately, a monorail transfer is required to do this. To get to Epcot from the Magic Kingdom, catch an express monorail to the Ticket and Transportation Center and transfer there to the monorail headed to Epcot.

7.  Buses have lifts to board passengers with wheelchairs and monorail stations can be accessed by way of ramps and elevators. Check with a reservation agent or your hotel about boat accessibility.

8.  Disney’s Fort Wilderness is one of the resort’s largest properties. Home to far-flung campsites and cabins, the resort has an internal bus system that transports guests to main parts of the property, as well as to the marina and the bus depot.

9. Want to ditch the boats, buses, or monorails?   BoardWalk Inn guests can get to Epcot or Disney's Hollywood Studios on foot, while guests of the Yacht and Beach Club resorts may get to Epcot by walking. Folks staying at the Contemporary Resort have access to a walkway that leads to the Magic Kingdom, too.

10. Thinking of heading to the water parks? There is a dedicated bus stop for Blizzard Beach at Disney's Animal Kingdom, so head to that theme park and transfer to the Blizzard Beach stop to head to that destination. To get to Typhoon Lagoon, you can take a special bus from Epcot to the water park; if that bus is not running, try taking a Disney Springs bus from any resort hotel to Disney Springs to switch to the Typhoon Lagoon bus. Remember to ask a Cast Member about which bus is running where, as routes are subject to change.

11.  Between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m. – or one hour after the park closes, whichever comes first – you can hitch a bus directly to Disney Springs from the parks. Keep in mind that this doesn't work for when you want to get to a park from the entertainment, shopping, and dining complex; for that, you will still have to take one of the Disney Springs buses to a hotel, then switch to a park bus.

12.  In 2019, Disney debuted its Skyliner gondola service that connects Epcot and Hollywood Studios to Disney's Art of Animation , Caribbean Beach , Pop Century , and Riviera resorts – though a transfer is required on some routes. We think the service has been a great addition to the resort, and some of the gondola cabs are even decorated with some of your favorite characters.

13 . If public transportation isn't your thing and you'd rather rely on ridesharing, look into the Lyft-powered Minnie Van service. Running daily between 6:30 a.m. and 12:30 a.m., these adorable vehicles can take you anywhere within the resort – even to and from Orlando International Airport – and pricing includes up to two complimentary child seats should you need them.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort VIP Top Tips

Yacht Club

While room requests are not guaranteed , at the Yacht Club ask to be closest to the lobby to limit the amount of walking needed to the pool area and transportation to the Theme Parks.

The Yacht Club has a beautiful wedding gazebo in its gardens. From the balconies of some of the Garden View and Water View rooms, you can overlook this area and glimpse a Disney wedding.

At Disney’s Yacht Club Resort , all rooms have a full balcony or patio.

Enjoy the close proximity to Epcot’s World Showcase . While there is a boat launch available at Epcot, you can get there faster by walking.

You can access Disney’s Hollywood Studios by boat. You may also enjoy a brisk walk around the BoardWalk down to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. In general, you may find the boat ride shorter than walking to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

These resorts offer one of the best pools on Walt Disney World property. While separate, the Yacht & Beach Club Resorts share the pool area. There is a “shipwreck” that offers the entry point to the main water slide. Some areas of the pool have a sandy bottom.

These resort hotels are located near the BoardWalk, offering a short walk to additional restaurants and nightlife that do not require park admission.

Sometimes Disney’s bus transportation may share buses with the other resort hotels in the Epcot area around the BoardWalk. If you find yourself stopping at multiple stops, you may want to get off at the first stop and just walk the rest of the way. This is sometimes quicker than stopping at each resort hotel if the bus loop is being shared with multiple resorts.

Cost to Park at Disney World

The cost for parking at Disney World recently increased which makes it a budget item that you need to pay attention to when saving for your trip.

Since I’m an Annual Passholder, I sometimes forget just how painful it can be adding parking to your Disney fees.

The rates to park at Disney World are always changing so, let’s go through a breakdown of what it currently costs for parking at Disney World .

ORDER NOW to secure your Walt Disney World theme park ticket! GET MY TICKETS.

Walt Disney World Parking Fees at the Theme Parks

One parking pass is good all day at all 4 theme parks:

  • Magic Kingdom Theme Park
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park

How Much Does it Cost to Park at Disney World?

When you approach the theme park gates at Disney, you’ll notice three different options for parking fees.

1. Standard Parking: Car or Motorcycle – $30 per day

Standard parking at the Disney Parks may require you to be parked a little ways back from the gate.

Don’t worry, there are trams that can take you to the front area of the park at no additional fee.

Hipster Power Tip: Remember that the Magic Kingdom is the busiest theme park in the world so be sure to get there an hour and a half before to the gates open.

This may seem radical, but if you’re parking you have to take into consideration:

  • Finding a  parking space.
  • Getting on the  tram to the transportation ticket center.
  • Taking the monorail or boat over to the Magic Kingdom gates.  There can be a very long line to get on the monorail or the boat.
  • Getting through the ticket turnstiles. This may take a while due to new security safety measures of  having your bags checked.

2. Preferred Parking: Car or Motorcycle – $45 per day during non-peak seasons; $50 per day during peak seasons

This area is located the closest to the park front gates. Disney Cast Members will also give you a bottle of water when you choose this option.

Keep in mind that the prices for Preferred Parking do vary based on the season that you visit.

3. Oversized Vehicle Parking: Shuttle, Limo, Camper Trailer, RV, Bus or Tractor Trailer – $35 per day

This is a Disney parking fee that you will pay if you plan on parking one of these vehicles on property.

Can you leave Disney parking lot and come back?

You absolutely can!

When you pay for one parking pass, it’s good for the rest of the day at any of the four Walt Disney World Theme Parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom).

So, enjoy your park hopping adventure at Disney without paying extra to park.

Do Disney resort guests pay for parking?

According to  Disney , registered guests of Disney Resort Hotels, select Annual Passholders, Premium Passholders and Disney Premier Passport holders will have free standard self-parking at Disney Theme Parks.

They also go on to say that you can choose Preferred Parking by paying the difference in cost between the standard parking and preferred parking fee.

This comes out to about a $20-$25 difference if you go with this option.

You more about the Disney Resort hotel parking fees here.

How much does it cost to park at Disney Water Parks?

Standard parking at Disney’s Water Parks is free! These parks include:

  • Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon
  • Blizzard Beach

How much does it cost to park at Disney Springs?

Standard self-parking is free at Disney Springs.

There are 3 parking garages and an additional 4 charging stations that are new on Level 3.

They are located in the Watermelon parking lot, and you can find them in front of Cirque du Soleil.

Disney Springs Parking Garages:

  • Lime Garage is closer to the offsite hotels in Disney Springs and is located near the LEGO Store, World of Disney, and the BOATHOUSE
  • Orange Garage is located near AMC Theater, the Coca-Cola Store, and Planet Hollywood
  • Grapefruit Garage is the newest garage that is located across the street from the Lime Garage and has a pedestrian bridge to cross the street over to Disney Springs

There are additional regular parking lots around Disney Springs which are:

Payment is usually collected when you pick up your car. Please keep in mind that gratuites are typically accepted.

Hipster Power Tip: If you have a special event, dining reservation, or concert that you need to be at, then you’ll want to arrive at Disney Springs an hour in advance to park and get situated.

What time can you park at Disney Springs?

You can start parking in the Disney Springs garages at 9 a.m. each day.

I do recommend checking the time before you go just to make sure it hasn’t changed.

How much does it cost to park at ESPN Wide World of Sports?

Standard self-parking is free at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports complex.

Can I park for free at Disney World?

You may be wondering if you can park at Disney Springs and go to the parks?

It’s definitely possible if you know how to do it the right way. Even with the high cost to park at Disney World, you can find ways to park for free at Disney which we will go into detail down below.

According to Disney , all Guests have complimentary acces s to their network of monorails, buses and boats.

How To Avoid Parking Fees At Disney World

As you can see from Disney’s official quote, you can use free parking at Disney Springs as a way to see the other resorts throughout Walt Disney World or visit multiple parks.

Now that you know this, it’s important to note that the Disney Springs buses do not go straight to the parks. However, they do run between Disney Springs and Disney Resort hotels.

They start running 45 minutes before Disney Springs opens and stop one hour after closing.

Once you have parked at one of the garages at Disney Springs, head over to the bus station.

You’ll then figure out which resort you need to be dropped off at based on your theme park choice for that day.

Disney World Transportation to the Parks from Disney Springs

Let’s go over how to get to the theme parks from Disney Springs.

Disney Springs to Magic Kingdom

You will need to take a bus to the to one of the Magic Kingdom resorts: Polynesian Resort, Contemporary Resort, or the Grand Floridian Resort.

The Contemporary Resort is the best place to be dropped off.

Here you can take a 10-minute walk over to the Magic Kingdom or hop on the monorail.

Disney Springs to Epcot

You will need to take a bus to one of the Epcot Resorts: The Boardwalk or the Yacht and Beach Club.

Once you arrive at one of the resorts you can take the boat or walk over to the back entrance of Epcot.

Disney Springs to Hollywood Studios

You will need to take a bus to one of the Epcot Resorts: The Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin Resort, or the Yacht and Beach Club.

Once you arrive at one of the resorts you can take the boat or walk over to the park entrance.

Disney Springs to Animal Kingdom

You will need to hop on a bus to the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Once there, you can take a bus to Animal Kingdom theme park.

Ready to start planning your next Disney World vacation? Listen to the  latest podcast episode on Apple  or on your  non-Apple  device now!

Can you park overnight at Disney Springs?

It is not recommended for you to park overnight at Disney Springs. Doing so may result in your vehicle being towed, which is the worst way to experience a Disney vacation.

Disney Springs is open Sunday to Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Pros and Cons of Parking for Free at Disney World

The main benefit of parking at Disney Springs is the free cost. However, what you don’t pay with money you will pay with your time.

Parking at Disney Springs and taking the bus over to resorts to board another form of transportation can take away at least 2 hours from your day. Plus, Disney Springs usually doesn’t open until 9 a.m. which is too late for you to start your theme park day.

If you’re a frequent reader of this blog, then you know that one of my top tips for Disney is to get there early!

Parking this way will not do that for you.

Although Disney doesn’t offer any parking discounts and the thought of paying the $30 is tough to swallow, it will make your day much easier.

Is Preferred Parking worth it?

Preferred Parking at the Disney theme parks is not worth it. If you arrive early, you’ll be able to get a decent parking space.

Plus, Disney will always have a tram to come by your parking lot row to take you directly to the front of the gates.

Final Thoughts on the Cost of Parking at Disney

I understand that the cost to park at Disney World can be quite expensive. Especially, if you plan on being there for a few days .

Planning a 3-day visit to Disney World can put your parking budget around $90 for just those few days!

New Disney’s Yacht Club Vineyard Vines Apparel Has Arrived!

by Justin Hermes · June 17, 2024

disney yacht club monorail

I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite places in all of Walt Disney World is Disney’s Yacht Club. Located on Crescent Lake, the resort is not only a short walk (or a FriendShip boat ride!) away from both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but it also has some of the best theming on property.

Add in Stormalong Bay. Beaches and Cream and the hidden treasure that is Hurricane Hannah’s, and I don’t know what more anyone could want in a Disney resort.
