Location and contact.

The restaurant is tucked away in the Lauderdale Marine Center, and you have to go through the Center's guard gate to get in. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor is both covered and uncovered. If the weather is good, sit outdoor. Indoor is very... very noisy when it's full. If you can, go while there is still daylight. The view outdoor of the boats and New River is amazing. Even at night, we spent an hour walking around the marina looking at the scenery. The menu is small, but there's enough for most tastes and requirements. Pizzas are shown but are not yet available. The crispy brussel sprouts appetizer was enough for the table of 4; charred just right, tender and tasty. Two of us had the conch chowder. The cup is small; you'll be left wanting more. Great seasoning with just the right amount of heat. The wedge and cauliflower/quinoa salads were large enough for a main course. The burger comes with a double meat patty. It was dry, and needed more sauce. The fries were plentiful and perfectly cooked. We did not try a dessert. Early reviews mentioned issues with service. We arrived 15 minutes before our reservation, asked to change from indoor to outdoor because of the noise, and we were given a table immediately (on the very busy New Year weekend). Our server was very attentive. A couple of things could be improved. There was no salt or pepper on the table. No sugar/sweetener was brought with coffee. We had to request them. Overall, food prices are very reasonable. Alcohol cost is high. We'll be going back to show out of town friends. It's a hidden gem, well worth the visit. More

2/14/2020-We took the boat down the river to the new restaurant YOT. A little tricky to get there by boat but they have the coordinates on their website. It was a great help . We were greeted immediately when we walked in and had a... great seat sitting right out there looking at it all the yachts. Our server was Cole he’s definitely a seasoned server didn’t miss a beat. We only had ice tea . We started with their mussels that came with french fries nice thin crispy french fries , then we had their fish dip which had a little bite which was nice and there’s different type of chip , “Lavash. “ Nice crunch. I then had the lobster roll very tasty with a little lemon zest to it , it came with a nice mixed green salad lots of tomatoes everything was very fresh . G had their fish of the day which was swordfish he enjoyed that immensely it came with strips of zucchini and olives it was very interesting we enjoyed everything the service couldn’t of been any better. Manager stop by the owner even stop by which is always a nice touch the views are magnificent. Our last dinner in Fort Lauderdale was amazing! The server was friendly and it was nice that they had the cooling mist equipment outside so we were able to eat properly without feeling that nasty humid weather. You can use the QR code scanner on... your phone instead of being handed an actual menu—great safety measure during this pandemic. Amazing view of the magnificent boats in front of us and the sunset as well. Highly recommended! More

2/5 rating This was a great disappointment as my friends touted how wonderful the food was there. Appetizer: Roasted Brussels Sprouts were drenched in Balsamic vinegar reduction and overly sugary. Dinner: Grilled chicken was dried out and uneatable! I ended up only eating a 1/4... of it. We have been to Yot at least five times since they reopened after the start of the pandemic. We like going there because it is outside and there’s is often a natural breeze. More recently however they went back to 100% capacity while still keeping... some distance between tables and of course they follow all other CDC protocols, but as a result we purposely try to go on slow nights and call ahead to make sure they are not busy before going. The last time we went on a Tuesday night 2 to 3 weeks ago it was a very slow perhaps because all the big yachts are currently in the Bahamas. The downside of going on slow off nights is perhaps it’s not the best quality staff. I ordered a steak and had to go inside to get a steak knife myself, not to mention that for an expensive fillet mignon it was not cooked to my liking , but I did not bother making a fuss about it. Usually the service is very good so I’ll look past it this time. The menu has a few less offerings than it did before the pandemic started and I love all of their craft cocktails. They also have a great loyalty program. It will remain in our regular go to spots for a fun meal in a unique environment. More

This is our new favorite restaurant to take friends. Great find in the COVID era - ample outdoor seating with view of yachts. Comfortable even on hot evening with fans and shaded areas. Suggest going during happy hour - good variety of tasty appetizers and... drinks at reduced prices. We recommend the crispy brussel sprouts, mussels and flatbread. We also enjoyed the salmon verte, blackened mahi sandwich, steak and burger. Attentive waitstaff and not rushed service. More

I went today for brunch to celebrate my moms bday and had Michelle as a waitress (black pregnant lady). She was rude and had an attitude from the moment we sat down. Even tho we had balloons and birthday flowers not once she said happy... birthday nor was friendly/pleasant. When we asked her to take a picture she said she couldn't do it. It took about 15 min to get the check from her and when we finally got it she pretty much threw it on the table and never said a word to us. It was a very unpleasant situation from start to finish. I wouldn't go there and spend $100+ on brunch (without bottomless drinks) to get this kind if service when there are so many other great places that will treat you better. We complained to Michael the manager and he really didn't said or do much either. We understand the waitress is pregnant but perhaps with her unfriendly attitude she shouldn't be working with the public. Not a good place to go celebrate a special occasion and based on this experience I wouldn't go again or recommend it. More

We had out of town guests and wanted to give them a taste of Fort Lauderdale so we took them to YOT. The decor is really cute with a contemporary nautical vibe. It was a beautiful night and the host seated us on the patio,... lowered the music and provided some warmth from the heater overhead. The guys wanted an old fashioned and the server suggested Angel Envy bourbon- neglected to say the drink would cost $27.. We had to wait 15 minutes for the 4th person to get their cocktail. The prickly pear margaritas were good. As for the food, the mussels were in a watery broth with little flavor. The fish dip was good, and the wedge salad was spectacular. As always the yachts were incredibly impressive. All that being said.we were disappointed and won’t be back for a while. More

I went there with my best friend after 2 drinks and they said we look way too happy so they’re not serving us because we’re too drunk. Wtf? I questioned the manager, he never showed up again, he sent someone else to talk to us.... It’s very unprofessional. I’m a server and I have a bertender license. I was definitely not in the “shouldn’t be served” category. I’ve been trained for that. It’s ridiculous. I used to like this place for brunch and recommend for everyone. Well now I’ll tell everyone not to come here. At least Laz at the valet was awesome. Thank you for your “hospitality”. More

Yot is hard to find, but plenty of people make their way there to party first, dine second. Our group of six arrived at 6 after weaving through a large mazelike commercial area with few signs to direct us. We parked free up front. There... was no sign indicating the entrance and we had to ask a worker how to get in. He pointed to a little porch with a ramp on one side and an unmarked step on the other. My wife did not see the step and fell flat on the side of her face, leaving a nasty wound in her ear. Someone offered her a bandaid. The place is on the water in a marina jammed with giant yachts, eye candy for Russian oligarchs. Let's get to it, 10 stars is tops. 1. Drinks are quite pricey but the pour is honest. 8* 2. Calamari was very good, tender and tasty 8* 3. Lobster roll, per wife, was very good 7* 4. My short rib dinner was terrible, crunchy & dry. They don't know how to prepare short ribs, which I order A LOT. It was served somewhere under a gloppy whiteish mess they may have included mashed potatoes. I sent it back after three bites. 0* 5. The replacement burger, medium rare, delicious 8* 6. French fries ordered crispy were insipid 2* No bread service unless you want to pay for it. Service was pretty good, plates were removed soon enough after dining. A 20% service charge was added to our separate checks. Including my drink and a glass of wine, I was out the door for $128. Getting out of the lot and finding our way back to SR 84 was an adventure. No directional signs in the dark maze. I would go back for the calamari, burger, and beer. That's all. More

So this was our first visit to YOT, we were taken by friends which I think is the only way we would have found it as tourists. Although it is a very busy place so obviously popular with the locals, and it is certainly a... place we would frequent if we lived in the area. We actually went for Sunday Brunch with a group of friends, the atmosphere was great, we sat outside on the terrace. Overlooking the magnificent Yachts that are docked in the Marina alongside YOT. All our Brunch food items were well presented, decent size portions and reasonable value for money. we enjoyed a selection of Breakfast Stle Flatbreads, Omelettes and plenty of Mimosas !!! so yes we enjoyed YOT and would return. Visiting Florida from the UK and was taken here by friends who live locally. The location is great, the restaurant is well designed and the service was great. We had a table on the deck outside and the atmosphere was really good. Unfortunately I didn’t... feel that the food quite matched up, especially for the price you pay. We shared appetisers. The fish dip was pretty good but the Truffle flatbread lacked flavour. I had the Tuna which was nicely seasoned but not as well cooked as I would have hoped. That said, my wife and daughter had the scallops which they really enjoyed. Saving grace was the key lime pie which was great although sadly we had wanted the cinnamon bun bread and butter pudding which had sold out. When you only offer 3 deserts you shouldn’t be selling out on a relatively quiet Saturday evening!! We had a great night and couldn’t fault our server but for the price I would expect more More

I am a loyal reader of the Sun Sentinel's Showtime section. With so many dining choices here in South Florida I am always on the look out for new and interesting locations. A review of this new restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale caught my eye for... it's location. Yot Bar & Kitchen is located within the confines of the "Lauderdale Marina" complex. It has a beautiful ambiance and is located on the New River. Any views that are obstructed are done so by luxurious yachts (not a bad obstruction). The menus are "time of day" sensitive. I experienced the Sunday Brunch menu which was tasty although a little pricey for the fare. The drinks are well made and reasonable in price. Give it a try. You will not be disappointed. NOTE: we had beautiful and perfect weather (temperature wise). It did start to rain and they had partition curtains to protect us. It gets hot here in summer and we have mosquitoes. More

YOT is located right on the water, inside the Lauderdale Marine Center so it’s not super crowded, which is a good thing. Big dock with big boats around. Food features seafood (obviously), good wines, creative cocktails (go for the prickly pear martini or the watermelon... mojito). We came on a Friday night and it was busy, not crazy busy. We sat outside, not on a deck but right outside because it was a little too cool. We tried a variety of food items: the pepperoni flatbread was soo good! You must have that! The fish dip was good however, the chips and the pickled red onions were the stars of that dish. The tomato bisque tasted like it had been made right on the spot: very fresh indeed. We tried the lobster roll and the YOT burger. Both featured good breads that held up to their ingredients. The burger came with fancy sauce and was served with fries. For dessert we had the key lime pie (tart with vanilla whipped cream and a graham cracker crust); the peanut butter pie, which tasted like you were having a Reese’s pieces pie and the cinnamon bun bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream. It can be a bit dry so remember to scoop up some of the “sauce” as you take a bite out of the bread pudding. Service was friendly and food was brought out promptly. More

Review: yot bar & kitchen in fort lauderdale delivers waterside ride with light chop.

Its name is Yot (as in yacht), it is tucked inside a hard-to-find Fort Lauderdale marina and it may be the rare restaurant that is easier to reach by boat than car. Depending on the day and batch of coconut milk-based conch chowder one encounters, Yot may feel like discovering hidden treasure or running aground on a sandbar.

Yot is a scenic, pleasant place with indoor and outdoor seating, a nautical theme and a seafood-focused menu that is geared mostly toward sandwiches and salads. Yot features one of the better creamy fish dips ($14) I’ve eaten in some time, a generous platter with toasted lavash chips, pickled vegetables and a fluffy mound of smoked mahi and wahoo that practically floats in a frothy sea of housemade creme fraiche. The portions are large and most plates are reasonable, particularly an overflowing rock shrimp po’ boy ($18). The market-price lobster roll ($27 on a recent night) also seemed like decent value, stuffed with 10 ounces of lobster meat including whole claws, lightly dressed in mayo with lemon zest.

Boaters who plug the coordinates 26? 05′ 53? N and 80? 09′ 58? W into their navigation systems will find Yot on the south fork of the New River at the Lauderdale Marine Center. Drivers who set their GPS or Wazes to the marina’s address may find themselves running into dead ends or the wrong guardhouse. It’s a bit confusing. Once you find the correct entry gate (the one farther west on Southwest 20th Street), just tell the guard you’re going to the restaurant and she’ll wave you through.

Yot has potential, but is not yet fully shipshape. Service is friendly but sometimes lax and distracted. More teamwork would be nice. Empty dishes sometimes sat on our table while floor staff strode past at dinner on a recent weekend. Our server brought dessert but forgot our coffee until much later when she was overwhelmed with a large group toward the end of our meal. Others sat in a back room eating and chatting.

Just under 3 months old, the restaurant has the unmistakable aura of a work in progress. We ordered sticky toffee pudding from the menu only to be told minutes later that the dessert was no longer available. A watermelon mojito changed flavors from one round to the next; my dining mate was told the bar ran out of watermelon juice. The pizza section of the menu is crossed out with a stamp that says, “Embarking soon.” My group saw a pizza sitting at the next table. Our server explained only a limited number were available during nightly happy hour (4-7 p.m.), and that there were some capacity problems with the conveyor oven. Oh.

Owner Mike Linder later explained that the troublesome pizza will soon be replaced by easier-to-bake flatbreads. A new dinner menu with more entrees is on the way (the restaurant currently has one all-day menu). Weekend brunch service is supposed to begin mid-February. A floating deck with outdoor bar still hasn’t opened (the target date is early March), limiting Yot’s bar capacity to six seats. A community high-top table in the dining room handles the bar overflow.

Yot has also endured some personnel turbulence, with a new chef (Kelly O’Hara) and general manager (Bill Talbert) coming aboard in the past month. O’Hara and sous chef Scott Ludley have worked for Linder’s private-jet catering firm (Silverline Catering) and at Jet Runway Cafe , a breakfast-lunch nook at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport that Linder and business partner Mitch Amsterdam opened 11 years ago.

When Yot opened in October 2019 , a press release touted executive chef Gregory Schesser, who worked for acclaimed chef Thomas Keller at the French Laundry in Napa Valley. Schesser was gone by the time I made it in for my first meal this month.

Yot is not fancy or daring, featuring simple and straightforward food that fits the relaxed surroundings. The dining room features light fixtures dangling from boat ropes, wood-tile flooring and a garage door that opens to a patio. Plastic flaps come down around the patio when the weather gets cold or rainy. When the weather is good, the setting is glorious.

This is a place that makes you glad to be in Fort Lauderdale in January, a seemingly perfect spot to grab a beer, a cup of soup and a blackened mahi ($17) sandwich. But sometimes the unexpected arrives.

Conch chowder ($7) isn’t the spicy red tomato-based version typically seen in these parts, but rather a yellowish, vegetable-chocked variety that caught me by surprise. Ludley, originally from Haiti, later told me that Haitians and residents of some Caribbean islands make conch chowder with coconut milk. It would be nice if the menu noted the coconut base.

I’m all for regional variations, but I wasn’t OK with the cup that made it to my table at dinner. It was not good, a thick, gloppy mess that had no discernible conch or seafood flavor and tasted more like something out of a Campbell’s can. I summoned the server and asked if there had been a mistake. “Is this corn chowder?” I said. She insisted it was conch chowder.

Ludley and O’Hara later explained that something went wrong with the batch on the night I dined, with too much corn starch used. Another cup I sampled during a photo shoot was much better, with a thinner, flavorful broth that used sofrito and shrimp stock and chopped conch spiked with jalapenos. O’Hara says the restaurant now portions out conch in each bowl so that it doesn’t get lost at the bottom of a big vat.

Other problems are easily fixed. Mussels with frites ($23) featured crisp, shoestring fries and clean, plump mussels from Prince Edward Island but the plating was a problem, with a heap of mussels served in metal bowl. The top mussels were cold and the hot broth was inaccessible. The dish calls for a wider, shallower bowl to allow for easy dunking. Also some toasted baguette.

Salads are lightly dressed with an almond vinaigrette that was almost too subtle. Salt and pepper shakers are absent from tables but available upon request. And a satisfying double cheeseburger ($16), done in smooshed, crusted style with special sauce, lettuce, tomato, pickle and onion, featured a good brisket-and-chuck blend. The thin patties were juicy but cooked to medium well, a hallmark of that style. It would be nice if the server made note of that when ordering. Next time I’ll special-order it medium-rare.

With a few tweaks, I’ll be happy to be part of Yot’s regular eating crew.

Once you confirm your reservation, your broker will process your payment.

• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is confirmed more than 7 days in advance, a deposit of either $1,000 USD or 50% of the total cost of the reservation (whichever is greater) is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 7 days away, the remainder of the amount due is processed.
• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is made 7 days or less in advance, the total price of your reservation is processed immediately.
• If you are booking for a multi-day charter and your reservation is confirmed more than 30 days in advance, a deposit of 50% of the cost of the yacht is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 30 days away, the other 50% is collected for the price of the yacht, plus the APA, plus the taxes due.

Terms of refunds are dictated by the Charter Agreement. Generally, once a payment is collected, it is non-refundable. In certain circumstances, as dictated by the Charter Agreement, credits can be provided so you will be able to enjoy your yacht charter at a future date that is convenient for you.
