Join the Tip Top III yacht in the Galapagos for fantastic 3, 4 or 7-night cruises. Constructed in 2001 and re-designed in 2008 to offer guests high levels of comfort and safety, Tip Top III is a first-class yacht delivering amazing Galapagos adventures. Social areas aboard the yacht include a large open-plan lounge, dining room and bar area located on the main deck and a large shaded sundeck located on the top of the boat. The sun deck offers a great place to relax and enjoy the sea breeze whilst enjoying the stunning Galapagos views. Offering an intimate experience, Tip Top III caters to a maximum of 16 guests to ensure a more personal service. There are 10 cabins onboard, each cabin has a private bathroom, lockers & drawers, safety box and AV. On the lower deck are 2 cabins with twin bunk beds and 4 cabins with single lower berths. Located on the upper deck are 2 single cabins and 2 twin cabins.

Your Galapagos adventure aboard the Tip Top III will start and finish in Baltra. Join in on a 3, 4, 7 or 14-night trip to explore the Galapagos Islands and all their amazing diversity. Trips include visits to places like Sullivan Bay where you can get a sense of the volcanic origin of the islands, panga rides to Punta Vicente Roca to observe sea lions, iguanas and blue-footed boobies, and snorkelling at Chinese Hat with penguins, eagle rays and sea lions.

The Tip Top II is part of the family of Tip Top vessels (including the Tip Top IV and the Tip Top V ). Two are catamarans and one is a yacht. The Tip Top II is a first class catamaran and includes 10 cabins for up to 16 people. Onboard social areas include a bar, sun deck, dining room, and lounge. All excursions are done in the company of a bilingual naturalist guide. Activities available on the Tip Top II include hiking, snorkeling, and kayaking.

A General Description of Motor Yacht TIP TOP III

This motor yacht TIP TOP III is a 35 m 115 (ft) well sized steel superyacht which was produced from the keel up by The Feadship Royal Van Lent Shipyard and conceived from the design board of De Voogt Naval Architects. Accommodating 16 guests and 7 crew, motor yacht TIP TOP III was registered as 715 Dora B; Always Alexandra; Islander; Victoria; Taipan. The firm of naval architecture whom authored the design in respect of this ship was De Voogt Naval Architects.

The New Build & Designing of Luxury Yacht TIP TOP III

De Voogt Naval Architects was the naval architect firm involved in the technical nautical composition for TIP TOP III. De Voogt Naval Architects is also associated with the yacht general design work for this boat. In 1972 she was formally launched with celebration in Kaag and following sea trials and finishing touches was afterwards delivered to the owner. The Feadship Royal Van Lent Shipyard completed their new build motor yacht in the Netherlands. The core hull was crafted from steel. The motor yacht superstructure is made mostly using aluminium. With a width of 6.49 m / 21.3 ft TIP TOP III has reasonable interior. A shallow draught of 2.35m (7.7ft) affects the amount of marinas she can berth in, taking into account their specific depth at low tide. She had refit improvement and modification undertaken by 1995.

Installed with twin CATERPILLAR diesel main engines, TIP TOP III will reach a maximum speed of 13 knots. Her propulsion units are twin screw propellers. Her total HP is 960 HP and her total Kilowatts are 706. For stabalisers she was supplied with Vosper.

Lady Lara’s interior configuration has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 14 guests overnight in 7 cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 19 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Lady Lara Mega Super Yacht, is a motor yacht built in 2015 by Lürssen in Schacht-Audorf. She is owned by Israeli/Kazakh billionaire Alexander Mashkevitch. With an overall length of 91.00 m (298.56 ft) and a beam of 14.82 m (48.6 ft).

An ultra modern super yacht

Built under codename Orchid, Lady Lara has a full displacement hull, aluminium superstructure and a 14.35 metre beam. Exterior and interior design comes from the boards of Reymond Langton Design, a decision influenced by the desire to create a harmonious balance between spaces inside and out.

Zero speed stabilizers, elevator, beach club, helicopter landing pad on the bow, spa, swimming platform, tender garage with tender, air conditioning, on deck jacuzzi, gym, BBQ, underwater lights.

Her on-board atmosphere is bright, with inviting interior spaces and a subtle selection of light complementary finishes enhancing the open areas. Generous exterior decks offer range of options for guests to enjoy, from sun-drenched, open entertainment areas to more sheltered, intimate formal spaces.

Sweeping, sculpted curves give Lady Lara a feminine elegance and the interior reportedly flows just as sinuously. Lady Lara is a private yacht and following her maiden voyage to Norway, she headed to Florida, the Bahamas and the Eastern Caribbean islands for the winter season.

Lady Lara features a displacement steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. She was built to Lloyds Register classification society rules.

This luxury yacht is also fitted with ‘zero speed stabilizers’ which work at anchor, increasing on-board comfort when the yacht is stationary, particularly in rough waters.

Who is alexander mashkevitch.

Mashkevich was born in Frunze, Kyrgyz SSR, Soviet Union, in 1954. His father Anton, a doctor born in Lithuania, and his mother, Rakhel Yoffe, a lawyer born in Vitebsk, were evacuated to Kyrgyzstan in 1941. His family background is Lithuanian Jewish.

He is a graduate of Kyrgyz State University where he studied philology. Mashkevich started out an academic career but became a businessman during perestroika. Mashkevich, Patokh Chodiev, and Alijan Ibragimov form “the Trio,” a group of Kazakh businessmen who became billionaires. The Trio gained control of the recently privatized chromium, alumina, and gas operations in Kazakhstan (some of the largest ones in the world).

Mashkevich is one of the owners of Alferon Management. Based in London, Alferon Management has acquired mining operations in different places: Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Indonesia, Kosovo, Russia, and other countries.

In 2010 he was on the Forbes list of billionaires at #287. In 2017, he was on the list at #1098, with a worth of $1.9 billions. Now his worth is 3 billion dollars.

She has accommodations for 18 guests and 19 crew members on board. The VIP suites have fold-down balconies that add to the grandeur.

The onboard atmosphere is bright and inviting with subtle finishes. The entertainment areas are open to provide more sheltered and intimate formal spaces.

The yacht has an extensive health and beauty center with a spa and an expansive beach club.

The beach club creates the perfect area for guests to enjoy indoor/outdoor living. There is also a swimming platform where guests can leap into the water below.

She has an on-deck jacuzzi to soak up the bubbles and the views. The yacht also has an elevator for convenient access to her different decks and a comprehensive gym onboard. The tender garage is brimming with towable toys and tenders.

Reymond Langton Design also contributed to the exterior design of the LADY LARA yacht. She was built by Lürssen and delivered from their Rendsburg shipyard in 2015. The exterior has sweeping curves and elegant but masculine features.

LADY LARA was code-named project Orchid when she was launched from the Lürssen Shipyard in 2015 and later renamed. She has a full displacement hull which gives her exceptional speeds in the water.

She has a white aluminum superstructure and teak decks throughout. The exterior is accented by underwater lights, which illuminate her at the night.

The LADY LARA yacht is a 91m superyacht with a beam of 14.82m and a draft of 4m. The vessel reaches a maximum speed of 18 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots.

She is powered by 2 MTU engines and has a displacement of 2,945 gross tons.

She features an advanced stabilization system that provides guests with the best comfort levels on board by minimizing the rolling motion of the vessel. The $180 million yacht has a $14 – $15 million annual running cost.

She is an award-winning yacht that holds an award from the Asia Boating competition in 2016. LADY LARA has a Lloyd’s Register classification.

A $1.4 Million-Per-Week Yacht Charter Experience

Y.CO has just welcomed the 298-foot Lürssen Lady Lara to the charter fleet. The lowest weekly base rate is $1.4 million for bookings this winter in the Caribbean and Bahamas.

The yacht is also listed for sale—at more than $254 million—for the first time since the German shipyard delivered it in 2015. Y.CO’s Max Bulley and Gary Wright, along with Merle Wood of Merle Wood & Associates, represented the yacht at the recent Monaco Yacht Show.

“With Lürssen quality and stunning Reymond Langton design, Lady Lara is an exceptional yacht that was conceived with family living in mind,” Wright stated in a press release. “Her adaptable spaces, variety and flexibility, in addition to all the amazing features like the breathtaking spa area, the beach club and two pools, are ideal for multigenerational groups and put Lady Lara into a league of her own.”

Accommodations are for 12 guests in their choice of eight staterooms (for private use, the yacht is built to accommodate 16 guests). Six of the guest staterooms are on the main deck, with one on the lower deck. The master suite has its own private deck with an exterior terrace, outdoor hot tub, and indoor library. The aft-deck space in the owner’s area is called a “winter garden,” with sliding glass panels that can be closed to shelter diners from the elements.

There also are two cabins for owner’s staff or supernumeraries, in addition to the yacht’s quarters for 27 crew.

Onboard amenities include an aft-deck pool whose floor can be raised to create a dance floor. A sound system on this deck helps to create a discotheque-style environment for parties. There’s another pool up on the sundeck, this one with a swim-up bar.

On the bridge deck, guests have access to the spa, which includes a hammam, massage room, treatment room, beauty salon and gymnasium. Guests who prefer to get their exercise outdoors can do so from the beach club at water level, which has a steam room and a sauna along with a sunbathing area.

For rainy days and relaxing nights, the lower deck aboard Lady Lara includes a cinema. There’s also a touch-and-go helipad on board, if guests want to escape to a different spot up the coast.

How fast can Lady Lara cruise? According to Y.CO, the yacht has a top speed of 17 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots, which is plenty fast for exploring the islands.

Why are so few Haitian refugees arriving by boat in Florida? DeSantis has a theory.

MIAMI — Gov. Ron DeSantis offered a theory Wednesday about why boats carrying Haitian refugees aren’t arriving on Florida’s shores, even as the Caribbean nation’s capital is largely ruled by violent gangs.

The reason, DeSantis said, is people who might want to leave Haiti don’t try because they know if they’re found on the open water they’ll be sent back.

DeSantis took a measure of credit for that policy and what he said is the result as he pointed to the interdiction last week of a boat off the South Florida coast.

It’s the Biden administration, which DeSantis criticized later in the same answer, that has maintained the U.S. government policy of returning people interdicted on the open water to the country where they originated.

Later on Wednesday,  DeSantis’ office announced  the state has evacuated a total of 722 Americans from Haiti. The operation began on March 20, after turmoil in the country made it difficult to get around the capital and disrupted commercial air service.

DeSantis offered his assessment about the lack of refugees arriving via sea when he offered a long response to an unrelated question at an event in Redington Shores.

“You look at what we’ve done by holding people accountable trying to come to this country, our state, illegally. We just interdicted like another 40 Haitians illegally coming, and there were human smugglers on the boat,” DeSantis said.

“We stopped them, they’re not on the shores of Florida. They got stopped and they got sent back. And so people now, and I think one of the reasons you haven’t seen an influx of vessels from Haiti since you’ve had everything really go — I mean it’s, it’s always been problematic but — south even more in the last couple of months, is because people know why would you want to get in some boat chart for the Florida Keys knowing you’re going to get stopped, turned around and sent back to where you came from?” he said. “It’s not worth it. It’s not worth doing.”

On Friday, Miami-Dade police stopped a 60-foot yacht near the South Florida coast and found what the  Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said  were “approximately 30 migrants of Haitian nationality and two alleged human smugglers.” The wildlife commission, a state agency whose law enforcement officers participated in the interdiction, said the migrants were turned over to the U.S. Coast Guard for repatriation.

In March, the Coast Guard repatriated 65 migrants to Haiti. They’d been found near the Bahamas.

DeSantis said the policy of sending people back to their country of origin should be in place at the southern U.S. border.

“If that was the attitude for our southern border, we’d be much better off because people would know it’s probably not a smart idea to pay some coyote six grand to get me to the border if all that’s going to be happening is I’m going to be sent back anyways,” DeSantis said.

One question, many answers

DeSantis brought up Haitian migration as part of his response to a reporter’s question about whether he’d re-suspend Andrew Warren if he’s elected again this year as Hillsborough County state attorney . When DeSantis was running for reelection in 2022, he suspended Warren, alleging he wasn’t fully enforcing all state laws, something Warren denied.

DeSantis didn’t say what he’d do if Warren wins in November, instead offering a proverb. “If ifs and buts were candy and nuts (then) every day would be Christmas,” he said. “I think it’s all going to work out.”

His answer was just short of eight minutes, in a style similar to that of his nemesis, former President Donald Trump, who is well known for jumping from topic to topic.

DeSantis went through more than a dozen different topics, including property crime and prosecutors, squatters, Florida being “the best state for law and order,” spring break in Miami Beach, defunding the police, Black Lives Matter protests in 2020, protests in favor of Palestinians and Hamas in 2024, and treatment of Jewish students on some college campuses.

Administrators at universities like Columbia and Yale “are weak. They’re scared and they won’t do anything,” he said. On retail theft, DeSantis said: “You should be able to go to the pharmacy and be able to grab deodorant off the shelf without that being behind plexiglass.”

Russia's Nuclear Deterrent Command Center Imperiled by Winter Freeze—Report

A Russian nuclear deterrent command center in Moscow has been imperiled by power outages that have impacted more than one-quarter of the region's cities amid freezing temperatures, a Russian Telegram channel has reported.

The VChK-OGPU outlet, which purports to have inside information from Russian security forces, reported that the 820th Main Center for Missile Attack Warnings—part of the Russian Space Forces, a branch of the country's Aerospace Forces—near Solnechnogorsk in Moscow is without power.

It serves as the space forces early warning network against potential ballistic missile attacks.

The development comes as Russians are reported to be suffering from power outages in their homes in the Moscow region caused by technical issues at plants amid subzero temperatures.

On January 4, a heating main burst at the Klimovsk Specialized Ammunition Plant in the town of Podolsk, which is about 30 miles south of central Moscow. Since then, tens of thousands of Russians are reported to have no heating in their homes.

Affected areas include the cities of Khimki, Balashikha, Lobnya, Lyubertsy, Podolsk, Chekhov and Naro-Fominsk, a map published by a Russian Telegram channel and shared on other social media sites shows.

Other Russian media outlets reported that in Moscow, residents of Balashikha, Elektrostal, Solnechnogorsk, Dmitrov, Domodedovo, Troitsk, Taldom, Orekhovo-Zuyevo, Krasnogorsk, Pushkino, Ramenskoye, Voskresensk, Losino-Petrovsky and Selyatino are also without power.

The Telegram channel said that at the 820th Main Center for Missile Attack Warnings, "the crew...is on duty around the clock."

"It is here that the decision on a retaliatory nuclear strike is executed," the channel said.

Newsweek could not independently verify the report and has reached out to the Russian Defense Ministry by email for comment.

Power outages have also been reported in Russia's second-largest city, St. Petersburg, in the country's western Voronezh region, in the southwest city of Volgograd, and in Rostov, which borders Ukraine, a country that Russia has been at war with since February 24, 2022.

On Sunday, two shopping malls in St. Petersburg were forced to close because of problems with light and heating, reported local news outlet 78.ru. Hundreds of other homes in the city have had no electricity, water or heating for days amid temperatures of -25 C (-13 F).

Russian authorities have also been forced to compensate passengers of a train that ran from Samara to St. Petersburg (a 20-hour journey) without heating during -30 C (-22 F) temperatures. Videos circulating on social media showed carriage windows frozen over. A passenger also said the toilet didn't work during the trip because of frozen pipes.

Russia Maps Show 25% of Moscow Without Power Amid Winter Freeze 'Emergency'

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the nationalization of an ammunition plant in Moscow after a mechanical failure caused tens of thousands of Muscovites to lose heat and water amid freezing temperatures beginning last week.

On January 4, a heating main burst at the Klimovsk Specialized Ammunition Plant in the town of Podolsk, which is around 30 miles south of central Moscow. Since then, tens of thousands of Russians are reported to have no heating in their homes in the Moscow region amid subzero temperatures.

Affected areas include the cities of Khimki, Balashikha, Lobnya, Lyubertsy, Podolsk, Chekhov, Naro-Fominsk, and Podolsk, a map published by a Russian Telegram channel and shared on other social media sites shows.

Other Russian media outlets reported that in Moscow, residents of Balashikha, Elektrostal, Solnechnogorsk, Dmitrov, Domodedovo, Troitsk, Taldom, Orekhovo-Zuyevo, Krasnogorsk, Pushkino, Ramenskoye, Voskresensk, Losino-Petrovsky, and Selyatino are also without power.

That means that in total, more than a quarter of Moscow's cities have been hit with power outages and a lack of heating.

Newsweek has contacted Russia's Foreign Ministry for comment via email.

Many residents have taken to publishing video appeals on social media to complain about their freezing conditions. In one clip, people living in Moscow say that they are left with no choice but to warm their homes with gas stoves, heaters, and "whatever else we can find." Others said they are lighting fires in the streets to keep warm.

Andrei Vorobyov, governor of the Moscow region, announced on Tuesday that Putin ordered the ammunition plant to be nationalized because two of its owners have been "located abroad." He didn't name the individuals.

"We received the right to take control of this boiler house within the framework of an emergency," Vorobiev said, adding that the plant's boiler room was managed "very poorly" and there was "virtually no qualified competent personnel."

Russia's Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case over Klimovsk Specialized Ammunition Plant not meeting safety requirements.

On Tuesday, the committee said that because of the incident, the deputy head of Podolsk's administration, the head of the plant's boiler house, and the general director of the ammunition plant had been detained.

Residents of Selyatino have described the situation as "some kind of struggle for survival," Russian Telegram channel ASTRA reported.

Power outages have also struck St. Petersburg, Rostov, Volgograd, Voronezh, Primorsky Territory, and Yekaterinburg.

Billionaire Mukesh Ambani ‘s streamer JioCinema is making a play to become India’s top streaming service by introducing cheap premium tier plans.

From April 25, the service’s existing INR999 ($12) annual plan for international premium content is being replaced by a monthly plan of INR29 (35 cents) for a single device or INR89 ($1.05) monthly for a family plan that covers four devices. The new plans are branded JioCinema Premium and will be up to 4K streaming quality.

Last month, at a media confab in Mumbai , Kevin Vaz, CEO, broadcast entertainment, Viacom18, had said: “Cricket is one of the biggest reach drivers in this country. It’s the only piece of content that works across the length and breadth of this country, and advertisers value this because they can get instant reach, they can reach consumers in the north and the south with their message at the same time, and they are ready to pay the price for this kind of content. It makes sense to have sport in front of the paywall. When sports has such a reach, it’s not ideal for us to try and limit that reach when there are people willing to watch it.”

JioCinema Premium will include content from Peacock, HBO, Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery, top Bollywood films and streaming shows and early access to content from the Colors and Nickelodeon TV channels. In addition, more than 20 TV channels from the Viacom18 Network will be available to stream.

The pricing is competitive in comparison to Disney+ Hotstar where mobile only plans begin at INR149 ($1.75) for three months and premium at INR499 ($6) for three months or INR299 ($3.50) monthly; Prime Video’s INR299 ($3.50) monthly or INR599 ($7.15) for three months; and Netflix’s INR149 ($1.75) for mobile only or premium for INR649 ($7:75), both monthly.

Touring the Top 10 Moscow Metro Stations

Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.

Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.

Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.

The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

Moscow subways are very clean

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow.   Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.

The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:

1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station  is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.

2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

3. Arbatskaya Metro Station served as a shelter during the Soviet-era. It is one of the largest and the deepest metro stations in Moscow.

4. Biblioteka Imeni Lenina Metro Station was built in 1935 and named after the Russian State Library. It is located near the library and has a big mosaic portrait of Lenin and yellow ceramic tiles on the track walls.

5. Kievskaya Metro Station was one of the first to be completed in Moscow. Named after the capital city of Ukraine by Kiev-born, Nikita Khruschev, Stalin's successor.

6. Novoslobodskaya Metro Station  was built in 1952. It has 32 stained glass murals with brass borders.

7. Kurskaya Metro Station was one of the first few to be built in Moscow in 1938. It has ceiling panels and artwork showing Soviet leadership, Soviet lifestyle and political power. It has a dome with patriotic slogans decorated with red stars representing the Soviet's World War II Hall of Fame. Kurskaya Metro Station is a must-visit station in Moscow.

8. Mayakovskaya Metro Station built in 1938. It was named after Russian poet Vladmir Mayakovsky. This is one of the most beautiful metro stations in the world with 34 mosaics painted by Alexander Deyneka.

9. Belorusskaya Metro Station is named after the people of Belarus. In the picture below, there are statues of 3 members of the Partisan Resistance in Belarus during World War II. The statues were sculpted by Sergei Orlov, S. Rabinovich and I. Slonim.

10. Teatralnaya Metro Station (Theatre Metro Station) is located near the Bolshoi Theatre.
