The full video of the shocking Alabama boat brawl has gradually been revealed as footage from dozens of witnesses from the riverfront has slowly found its way onto social media.

A number of people were arrested and even more arrest warrants issued in connection with the riverfront brawl in Montgomery, Alabama’s capital, that drew nationwide attention.

Major Saba Coleman, of the Montgomery Police Department ,said there are currently four active warrants and more could be issued after authorities review more footage. Police said Sunday that several people were detained and charges are pending.

Video circulating on social media showed a large melee Saturday that appeared to begin when a crew member of a city-operated riverboat, the historic Harriott II, a three-story dinner cruise boat, tried to get a pontoon boat moved that was blocking the mooring space. An argument erupted before a topless man swung at the worker and a fight began .

The conflict escalated when several white people joined in on attacking the Black crew member. A separate video shows that several Black passengers then confronted the pontoon boat group after the riverboat docked, sparking another brawl that was largely split along racial lines.

One of the brawlers, a Black man, got his hands on a chair and was seen towards the end of the melee bringing it down ferociously on people's heads, including one woman who had already been knocked to the ground. Before the Harriott II had a chance to moor, a 16-year-old boy, dubbed 'Aquaman,' jumped off the boat and into the water so he could swim over and join the fight.

Makina Lashea, a representative for the boy’s family, issued a statement following the incident.

“In the face of adversity, Aaren selflessly came to the rescue of a fellow colleague, showcasing courage beyond his years,” Lashea said in the statement on Facebook .

“The overwhelming love and support pouring in from all corners of the state and surrounding areas have deeply touched Aaeren.”

Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed said police will hold a briefing Tuesday to provide an update on the situation.

“While there is a lot of activity and interest in this, we know that we’ll come through this together as a community collectively as we have other situations,” he told news outlets on Monday, according to al.com.

The mayor said in a statement Sunday that Montgomery police acted “swiftly to detain several reckless individuals for attacking a man who was doing his job.”

“This was an unfortunate incident which never should have occurred. As our police department investigates these intolerable actions, we should not become desensitised to violence of any kind in our community. Those who choose violence will be held accountable by our criminal justice system,” Mayor Reed said.

The fight took place along Montgomery’s downtown riverfront which the city has worked to develop into a tourist and recreation area with restaurants, bars and hotels.

How A Folding Chair Won The Montgomery Brawl — and The Internet

When the historic riverboat Harriott II attempted to dock in its usual spot on the Alabama river on Saturday, the resulting argument between its co-captain and the boating group blocking the way turned into an instantly viral brawl — one that ended with at least three people with criminal charges , dozens of clips posted to social media, and an instant deluge of memes .

But the real winner of this whole thing, at least in the eyes of social media users, is a single plastic folding chair.

According to police and multiple videos of the incident (which are shot from almost every conceivable angle), the fight that is now being referred to as the “ Montgomery Brawl ,” began with a simple request that the riverboat captain, Damien Pickett, move the boat. The Harriott II was attempting to dock in its usual spot along the city’s Riverfront Park, but was blocked by a pontoon filled with boaters.

But while Pickett, who is Black, began the fight outnumbered by the boaters, who are largely white, several Black bystanders came to his defense, eventually turning the fight into an all-out battle. Footage captured by bystanders shows a Harriot II employee jumping in the river and swimming to Pickett’s aid, a group of three men cantering up to join the fight, and even a pair of white Crocs being turned into anklets by the sheer force of body slams. But the clip that seems to have resonated with people the most is footage of an older Black man indiscriminately hitting the white assailants over the head with a simple white folding chair, WWE-style.

In the past five days, the chair has gone from a one-off prop to the hero of the whole fight. One day after the fight, several Montgomery residents posted photos of themselves at the dock, holding up what appears to be the same chair in the video. At least two TikTok users have even claimed that the chair has gotten so popular that stock is low at Montgomery’s Walmarts and Targets. Singer Joy Oladokun even got the folding chair tattooed on her arm.

When police identified the man wielding the folding chair as 42-year-old Reggie Gray, and asked him to come in for questioning, people on Twitter immediately began feigning ignorance. “What chair? I didn’t see a chair! Y’all better leave Uncle Reggie alone!” wrote one user. “Look at them making stuff up already,” said another. “There was NEVER a black man holding a folding chair.” There’s even a rap about the fight slowly gaining traction on TikTok, which gives Gray and his folding chair their own shoutout.

With meme production in full overload, it’s easy to dismiss the response to the fight as just online humor. But the real reason the videos hit so hard is because of the underlying desire for Black people to see their community fighting back. On an almost daily basis, it feels like there are viral videos of Black people in America being unable to defend themselves, being targeted, or being victims. But for many people online, the Montgomery brawl, as outrageous as it was, represented the opposite: Black people standing up for themselves.

It figured prominently in viral footage of a brawl, where it was used as a blunt instrument. So why is the humble folding chair now turning up on T-shirts, earrings and at least one tattoo?

Within hours of a fight breaking out on an Alabama riverfront this month, images and video clips from the brawl began to ricochet online. Then came the memes. After that, it wasn’t long until the merchandise started to appear.

On Aug. 5, a group of white boaters attacked Dameion Pickett, a Black riverboat captain, after he instructed them to dock their pontoon elsewhere as the space was reserved for a larger vessel. A group of mostly Black bystanders rushed to his defense. In the aftermath of the brawl, a white folding chair — an unlikely weapon that one man was seen wielding over his head during the encounter — has emerged as a joking-but-not-really symbol of resistance against perceived racial aggression.

On TikTok, #boatfight and #montgomerybrawl videos have racked up tens of millions of views. Listings have flourished by the dozens on retailers like Redbubble, Etsy and eBay. Earrings, necklaces, mugs, T-shirts and window decals have all been fashioned in the image of the folding chair in recent weeks.

By Aug. 10, four people wanted in connection with the brawl had turned themselves in to the Montgomery Police Department . Reggie Ray, the man accused of using the chair in the altercation, has also been charged with disorderly conduct .

Since then, there has been a growing market for all things folding chairs. At least two online auctions advertising what was allegedly the white chair actually used in the brawl, one of which was listed for $35,000 , abruptly ended “because there was an error in the listing,” according to eBay.

For Tamika Hicks of Louisburg, N.C., however, the chair represented much more than a cash grab. Ms. Hicks, 38, a full-time health care worker who runs an Etsy handicraft shop on the side, said that she had fallen into this unusual cottage industry by accident, having originally made a pair of folding chair earrings for a friend after seeing the brawl online. After a robust response to her Facebook post showing off the earrings, she saw an opportunity to generate more income. She said she had received close to 1,000 orders this month.

“People just don’t understand the power of social media,” Ms. Hicks said. “Something that went viral has brought in other forms of income for me as a single mom. I’m also able to be a part of this conversation and to continue it.”

Jasmine Green, a visual artist in Pittsburgh, moved quickly to capitalize on the moment. On her website, she is selling chair earrings of her own design that have the words “Try Me” carved into the center of the seat. She said she planned to send some of the profits after expenses to a fund set up for those who came to Mr. Pickett’s defense, including Mr. Ray.

“Part of the celebration of this chair has been this idea of collective care,” said Ms. Green, who is also the director of education at the nonprofit 1Hood Media Academy , which provides art, education and social justice programing to communities of color. “But I also want to remind people to make sure that we’re also following up on those that were involved in the fight, if they need resources.”

Uju Anya, an associate professor in Carnegie Mellon’s department of modern languages, was given a pair of Ms. Green’s “Try Me” earrings by her girlfriend and wore them to a Pittsburgh Steelers game, where she said they were complimented by strangers. To her, the earrings are more than just a comedic fashion trend.

“It’s empowering and a collective sigh of relief,” Professor Anya said.

Professor Anya suggested that the humor behind the white folding chair had a potency for one particular audience. “Anybody can generally understand a meme or TikTok,” she said, “but the imagery of this chair is specific to us and has language very specific to Black people and Black culture.”

Kaylen Sanders, a bank teller and a musician in Dallas, said he found himself deeply moved by the videos he saw online. “The fact that this didn’t turn into something where guns came out, or anybody actually died or anything, it felt very relieving,” Mr. Sanders said in an interview. He added that it was encouraging to watch other Black people come “to defend one Black man that very much could have been another cause.”

“For me,” he said, “it represented Black unity.”

Instead of simply showing his support by buying a T-shirt or a cap, he decided to immortalize it on his skin : A new tattoo on his left arm reads “Montgomery, Alabama” along with the date “Aug. 5, 2023.” A detailed line drawing of the folding chair is centered in the middle.

After a conversation with his fiancée, Camry Moss, the two landed on the idea for the tattoo. Two days after the brawl, he and Ms. Moss, who is a tattoo artist , sat down to commit the day to ink at his mother’s house.

“I don’t regret it, and it’s not a joke,” Mr. Sanders said. “I don’t think over the years I’ll be like, ‘Oh, why did I do this?’”

According to Ravi Dhar, a behavioral scientist at the Yale School of Management who specializes in consumer behavior and branding, any emotionally charged moment that fuses race and anxiety is bound to cause people to “feel connected.”

“The unique thing here, too, was the location,” Professor Dhar said. The brawl, which erupted in Montgomery’s popular Riverfront Park, occurred at the same dock where enslaved Africans once arrived by steamboat to be sold in the center of town. (Although the fight appeared to break out along racial lines, the Montgomery police have said they do not plan to pursue hate crime charges .)

“It signals that not much has changed,” he added, “but this chair seems to have offered a different perspective.”

Professor Dhar compared the unlikely imagery of the folding chair to other moments in history that can be evoked with a single image or item: Colin Kaepernick taking a knee during the national anthem as a statement on police brutality, for instance, or the red hats of a Trump rally. In its visceral connection to the actual events themselves, the chair also conjures up memories of the umbrellas used by pro-democracy demonstrators in Hong Kong to shield themselves from tear gas and pepper spray during the movement’s 2014 street protests .

“This white chair is not something that’s inherently violent,” said Ms. Green, the artist, “which I think has allowed people to have this feeling of humor around it. But it’s this unassuming object that plays such a vital role.”

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — A man filmed swinging a folding chair during an Alabama riverfront brawl this summer pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge Monday.

The guilty plea resolved the last of the charges brought in connection with the brawl. The man was ordered to perform community service and given a suspended sentence.

The August riverfront melee in Montgomery drew national attention after bystanders filmed white boaters hitting a Black riverboat co-captain and then Black crew members and bystanders rushing to his defense. Video of the fight was shared widely online, sparking countless memes and parodies. Many of those memes focused on the folding chair swung by the Black man who pleaded guilty Monday.

Montgomery police said the brawl began when the white boaters refused to move their pontoon boat so the city-owned Harriott II riverboat could dock in its designated space. The boat’s co-captain said he was attacked after moving the pontoon boat a few feet to make way for the riverboat.

Four white boaters were charged in connection with the fight and pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges ranging from harassment to assault.

Montgomery riverfront brawl: Folding chair shows up in tourist photos, at voter drives

The white folding chair looks just like any other except for the signatures scrawled on it. The list of names belongs to those involved in the Montgomery riverfront brawl, an event that made it a symbol of so much more for people across the nation.

Queen E. Tate Jackson said she grabbed the chair during the brawl on Aug. 5 to keep anyone from getting hurt. Reggie Ray is accused of hitting a woman with the chair, and police have charged him with disorderly conduct. His hearing is Nov. 16.

The brawl started when Dameion Pickett, the co-captain of the Harriott II, asked the operators of a private boat that was docked in its space to move, getting only "obscene gestures" and "taunting" in response. Dozens of cellphone videos posted to social media were recorded by passengers aboard the Harriott II riverboat – which was waiting to dock with 227 people on board for more than 40 minutes – as well as people on the shore.

The video they captured shows several white assailants hitting and kicking Pickett. At least one Black riverboat passenger dove into the Alabama River and swam to shore to aid the worker. Once the Harriott II docked, the videos showed a mostly Black group disembarking and rushing toward the boaters.

Richard Roberts and Mary Todd of Selma both pleaded guilty of charges related to the brawl in Montgomery municipal court last week. Cases are pending for four others, including Zachery Shipman, Allen Todd, Pickett and Ray.

Jackson was helping with voter registration and saw the beginnings of the fight. She was there when Ray allegedly hit the woman with the chair, she said. “We got rid of it because it was a weapon," Jackson said, adding that she's grateful that there weren't any guns.

She took the chair and gave it to her husband, she said. Her husband then put it in their car.

Since then, the chair has become a symbol featured in memes all over the world. It's on T-shirts, tattoos and earrings.

Jackson said she's gotten many people who were involved in the brawl to sign the chair. They include people who work at the Harriott II and the teen who was given names like "Black Aquaman" and "Michael B Phelps" on social media after swimming across the river to help Pickett.

"In the aftermath of the brawl, a white folding chair – an unlikely weapon that one man was seen wielding over his head during the encounter – has emerged as a joking-but-not-really symbol of resistance against perceived racial aggression," Frank Rojas wrote for the New York Times.

Adia Winfrey, who is involved in activism throughout the state, agreed.

“I think what made the chair popular is that it is it became a symbol of unity, a symbol of liberation, something familiar that people could relate to ... that people are familiar with. The fact that it was used in a way that it was, it became a symbol of liberation for people," Winfrey said.

Jackson, who is a freelance photographer, now takes the chair with her when she helps with voter registrations and does activist work throughout the state. She poses with tourists, sharing a small part of that feeling of liberation with them. Authorities have not confirmed that the chair Jackson took is the one allegedly wielded by Ray, but that doesn't seem to matter for those who have found a greater meaning in what it represents.

Ronnie Clark described his meeting with Jackson on social media. Clark was visiting Montgomery and walking along the riverfront while wearing a shirt with the folding chair on it. Jackson pulled the chair out of the back of her van to show Clark.

"You never know who you'll run into!" Clark said in his post.

The fight has become synonymous with Montgomery, which Jackson said is not always a bad thing. It shows the unified spirit of the Black community here, she said.

“We’re ready to come together," Jackson said. "... We stick together."

Jackson said she has considered giving the chair to a museum.

Man wielding chair in Montgomery riverfront brawl pleads guilty

The man seen on the viral videos of the Montgomery boat dock brawl striking two people with a folding chair has pleaded guilty in municipal court.

Reggie Ray, 42, of Montgomery, entered the guilty plea to disorderly conduct Monday morning before Montgomery Municipal Court Judge Milton Westry. The charge is a misdemeanor. Ray was sentenced to 90 days in jail, which was suspended, and ordered to perform 50 hours of community service and pay court costs totaling $357.

Neither Ray nor his attorney, Virgil Ford, offered any comment as they left the courtroom.

Ray became involved in the brawl after the initial fight was over. City officials have declined to comment on why Ray was not charged with misdemeanor assault. However, Richard White, attorney for Richard Roberts, a defendant charged with assault in the case, said the woman Ray struck with the plastic folding chair decided not to press charges. Videos posted on social media showed Ray also struck a man with the folding chair.

Ray is the last defendant to have a hearing in the melee.

Zachery Shipman, of Selma, and Allen Todd, of Orange Beach, each pleaded guilty to the lesser charges of harassment and must each serve 100 community hours, pay all court costs as well as a $100 fine and attend an anger management course. Shipman will serve his community service hours in Selma and Todd in Orange Beach. They were each originally charged with misdemeanor assault.

As part of the plea deal, Shipman dropped assault charges he had filed against Dameion Pickett, co-captain of the Harriott II.

Richard Roberts, of Selma, entered guilty pleas to two counts of misdemeanor assault against Pickett and Daniel Warren, a 16-year-old deckhand on the boat. Pickett and Warren accepted the guilty pleas.

Roberts was sentenced to 32 days of a four-month suspended jail sentence, to be served on weekends in a Perry County facility. He must complete 100 hours of community service and pay court costs totaling $714, records show.

Mary Todd, also of Selma, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor harassment in the assault on Pickett. Pickett accepted the plea deal. She was ordered to attend anger management class and pay $357 in court costs.

Mary and Allen Todd are brother and sister.

On the evening of Aug. 5, the riverboat Harriott II was returning from a two-hour cruise and could not dock because privately owned pontoon boats were moored in the riverboat’s slip.

Pickett and Warren went ashore to ask the owners to move the boats, and a brawl erupted captured by dozens of cell phones. The footage showed Pickett, who is Black, being repeatedly struck by the group of white boaters as frustrated riverboat passengers looked on. It went viral on social media sparking media attention and outrage nationally.

Warren is white and the four co-defendants charged with assault are white. Ray is Black and the people he struck with the chair are white.

The FBI investigated the brawl and found no evidence of a hate crime in the incident.

Wild Alabama riverboat brawl prompts folding chair and 'Black Aquaman' memes after footage goes viral

At least four people have been arrested after footage of a wild brawl in Montgomery, Alabama, went viral across social media . "There’s a possibility more will follow after the review of additional video," the police told The Independent .

The incident occurred on August 5 near Montgomery Riverfront Park and was captured by several witnesses before being broken up by Alabama police. The alleged turn of events saw two men having an argument with a Black dock worker. Things soon escalated before many more people jumped in to seemingly defend the man.

In one piece of footage, one woman claimed : "These white people jumped this black security guard at the Riverfront. The staff got off the boat and it turned into WWE Smackdown. I’m so proud of Montgomery."

Another person shared a different angle of the brawl, writing : "I HATE when people jump people a majority of the time, & even more so when you want to fight or jump someone for doing their job. I applaud EVERYONE that helped that man out."

People were thrown into the water and folded chairs were smashed over people's heads. The police have since urged the man with the chair, identified as Reggie Gray to come forward as “there’s more interviews to conduct with him.”

The footage prompted X users (formerly known as Twitter ) to do what they do best: Memeify it, with the 'inventor' of the folding chair being the centre of memes across the net.

In 1911, Nathaniel Alexander patented a design of the chair for schools, churches and "in small towns when somebody tries you," one person jokingly quipped.

As the jokes rolled in, many users highlighted that the image "of Alexander" was in fact Lewis H Latimer, who invented many things including the light bulb filament.

There were more than a few wrestling memes too given that folding chairs are a very common weapon in sports entertainment.

The internet couldn't get enough of the man who swam from the boat to help, dubbing him 'Black Aquaman.'

The Montgomery Police Department have since revealed in a statement that several people have been detained with charges pending.

Officials "acted swiftly to detain several reckless individuals for attacking a man who was doing his job," Montgomery Mayor Steven L. Reed said in a statement. "Warrants have been signed and justice will be served."

Reed continued: "This was an unfortunate incident which never should have occurred. As our police department investigates these intolerable actions, we should not become desensitized to violence of any kind in our community. Those who choose violent actions will be held accountable by our criminal justice system."

An out-of-control brawl broke out on an Alabama dock Saturday among dozens of people in a manic scene that mirrored a massive WWE fight — all captured on video.

The wild battle — which witnesses said started when a group of boaters attacked a Montogomery Riverfront dock worker — ended with people thrown into the river, multiple struck with a folding chair and several in handcuffs, according to footage posted to social media.

Montogomery police have issued four active warrants as of Sunday and more will likely follow as they review videos posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, local NBC affiliate station WSFA reported.

The melee occurred at about 7 p.m. Saturday at the 200 block of Coosa Street, police told the station.

A witness claimed that the group of boaters refused to move their pontoon boat so that the Harriott II Riverboat could dock.

The account was seemingly backed up by the Montgomery mayor.

“Last night, the Montgomery Police Department acted swiftly to detain several reckless individuals for attacking a man who was doing his job,” Mayor Steven Reed said in a statement . “Warrants are being signed and justice will be served.”

A shirtless man appeared to throw the first punch, running up and punching the dock worker in the face, the video shows.

The worker tosses off his hat as onlookers shout and the two struggle before two more men join in and punch the staffer, according to the footage.

A woman can be heard yelling at others to help the employee.

A man then runs down a ramp to the dock and another jumps in the river and swims over to defend the worker, the clip shows.

Several others walk down to the dock in support of the dock staffer and the fight appears to end.

However, another clip shows a group of people approaching the pontoon boat and the opposing groups began throwing punches, pulling hair and even tossing a woman into the water as bystanders shout.

A third video shows even more people, both men and women joining the fight.

One man takes a folding chair and whacks a man and then a woman — part of the pontoon boaters — over the head with it before officers grab and cuff him.

Officers also cuffed several of the pontoon boaters, according to the footage.

The fight appeared to develop along racial lines as the boaters were white while the dock worker and the others fighting against the boaters were black.

“As our police department investigates these intolerable actions, we should not become desensitized to violence of any kind in our community,” Reed said. “Those who choose violence will be held accountable by our criminal justice system.”

It takes something very special to impress the jilted residents of the exclusive French town of St. Tropez. Years ago we brought this depot for the rich and famous to a standstill arriving with Virgin Atlantic Challenger II, but we had just set a record across the Atlantic. Sprinting into the port with the striking new, 40-knot Pershing 115 did not quite have the same impact, but this beautiful yacht did stop onlookers in their tracks as they stood and stared.

With the 115, Pershing joins a select band of boatbuilders who are going over the 100-foot mark, taking a quantum leap from the 88-foot former flagship design. This yacht has twice the volume of anything Pershing has ever built. Moreover I was on the first hull and for a prototype design they have done a really superb job of meeting their design and perfomance goals.

Pershing boss Till Antonelli is justifiably proud of the 115. “We knew there was a market out there for a larger Pershing and I think we took a bold step in making the jump straight from 88 to 115 feet. The result is there for all to see and it is a tribute to our new factory and the people who work there, Antonelli says.

The power behind this monster is a pair of 16 cylinder MTU diesels from the 4000 range that produce 3,700 hp each. These engines are huge and they seem to stretch forever along the engine compartment. They are coupled to ZF gearboxes and then the drive goes to KaMeWa water jets in what proved to be a very smooth power train. The water jets are unique in that the inlet ducts of the jets are an integral part of the hull molding which gives a better water flow to the impellers and improves their efficiency.

The two diesels have ample space between them and you see the reason for this when you look aft and see the molding in place for a third water jet. This gives the option to install a centerline TF50 gas turbine to bring the total power up to 13,000 hp. Now you are talking real excitement, and this installation is planned for the next unit that is already under construction. Look for speeds of over 55 knots from this second yacht, speeds that are squarely situated in the Pershing performance territory.

Access to the engine compartment is via a door in the cockpit which leads first to an auxiliary room with the switchboard, watermaker and air conditioning. Forward of this are the crew’s quarters and galley. Stairs lead up from the galley directly into the saloon, close by the dining table, and there is also a dumbwaiter for larger trays. The galley is fitted with all you need for sophisticated meal preparation and the styling, even in these working areas of the yacht, is a close match to the stunning guest areas.

Back aft, the swim platform that protects the water jets is bigger than the average sportsboat. Stairs lead up on both sides to the cockpit, and between them is the garage for the Zodiac tender together with its launching crane. You don’t need to skimp on the water toys on this yacht because there is a second garage that is revealed by raising part of the forward coach roof, housing two jet skis with another launching crane.

The 115 is full of more surprises and one of them comes from opening the door on the right of the saloon entrance. Here there is a stairway winding up to a very private sun deck sitting above the pilothouse. I was trying to determine why there was no sunroof on this yacht similar to those found on other Pershings-this sun deck was the reason. There is another, more public sunpad in the cockpit together with settees and a table, but the upper area is going to be everybody’s favorite.

The sliding saloon doors make an impressive entrance and walking into the saloon takes your breath away. There is none of the rich wood panelling so often found on superyachts, but here the designers have created a beautiful and light, almost minimalistic area with only the dining chairs and the blue leather locker fronts providing color. The settees are white leather, the woodwork a very pale gray-tinted ash, and the sides and overhead a very pale cream.

Quality is enhanced by integral modern artwork above the entrance door and on two of the side window pillars. The relaxing lounge area is aft and a dining table for 10 is forward in a open plan arrangement. Forward at the helm there are three imposing adjustable seats that create what looks like an altar to high performance.

The captain sits in the center chair, which is flanked by the engine and jet controls fitted into the armrests. Here he is master of all he surveys and he really can play tunes with the sensitive machinery controls. In front of him there are seven screens that provide all the information needed for high speed navigation and control, plus sophisticated monitoring systems. The latter have been specially developed by Pershing to control and monitor everything on board except the main engines. The engines have their own MTU dedicated displays and there is a separate display for monitoring the water jet. Large Simrad radar and chart displays provide a full picture of the navigation scene.

A couple of steps down from saloon level takes you into what is virtually a private cinema. Wide lounging settees and chairs face a big flat screen that can be fed from video, DVD or cable or satellite TV. This will be a popular evening relaxing area. Another stairway takes you to the staterooms where the layout is about the only conventional thing on this yacht: a master, a VIP and two twin cabins.

These are all decorated in a similar minimalistic style but with strong colors added through the leather bed bases, the mirror trims and the bright silk bed covers. The result is both modern and restful, with the spacious master stateroom occupying the full beam and featuring an angled bed and deep side windows to give natural light. The VIP stateroom in the bow is almost semi-circular in shape and large enough to have its own settee.

The heads have the same pale gray wood and modern fittings, including hemispherical glass basins. The soles here are wood but have metal strip inserts to give good grip when wet. The extravagant quality of the master stateroom can be seen in the fitting of his-and-her heads for the use of the owners.

The interior of this yacht may be stunning but it is the exterior styling that really sets the scene. The hull has the navy blue and silver combination that was pioneered by Pershing and has since been copied by many. This color scheme complements the series of rising curves that forms the superstructure and, like so much about this design, everything looks well integrated. The practical aspects of the design have been well thought out in most areas, but you only really appreciate the true quality of this yacht out on the water at speed.

We ran the 115 from Cannes to St.Tropez, which is a well-worn path for fast motoryachts. You appreciate one of the qualities of water jet drive with the very delicate maneuvering that is possible with this big yacht. Despite her size you can inch her forward or sideways delicately close to the dock, yet she will spin like a top when you need a quick response. It takes some skill and familiarity with the controls to get to this level of control but the effort is well worthwhile.

Out at sea the response is immediate and thrilling. The thrust from the jets powers the yacht onto plane and keeps it accelerating right up to its terminal velocity. The lack of vibration is impressive, and steering control is delicate and precise when you switch from the steerable joystick controls to the wheel steering. For trim adjustment, the 115 uses the latest interceptor system rather than trim tabs and these give an immediate response that reduces the adjustment period.

On our run down to St.Tropez we had a race with the TGV high-speed train along the coast. The train won that one, but there was no doubt we were fastest on the water that day. Pershing has found just the right balance in this yacht. This design has all the style you want to impress others, both inside and out, yet this is combined with very comfortable living on board. As for performance, 40 knots will meet most requirements but if you want to outrun everything on the water then you can always invest in the gas turbine option. Then maybe, you might even beat that train.

Pershing has been designing, producing and marketing luxury open motor yachts for almost 30 years, becoming one of the leading brands in the Made in Italy fibreglass open yacht sector

The pershing range stands out for its superior performance, continuous stylistic development, top quality materials and painstakingly designed interiors that offer ultimate comfort. advanced construction methods, powerful engines reaching 7400 mhp and the use of surface propellers , hydrojets and gas turbines all combine to give pershing yachts a distinctively sporting trim and up to 50 knot peak speeds..

Pershing yachts are produced in the Mondolfo shipyard (located right in front of the original yard) , a futuristic site of 53,000 square metres – out of which more than 36,000 are open air – designed by the architect Sandro Sartini . This is not just a production site: this is a striking scenario, which perfectly matches beauty, technology, functionality, and dream, a space painstakingly designed for enhancing the continuous development of the range, also in terms of yacht sizes.

The new production site features a large and innovative painting booth of 4400 sq. m, where boats are dry painted. The test basin (33 m long, 7.5 m wide and 2.3 m deep) is used for all hydraulic tests (engines, exhausts, bilges, and generators) and for waterproofing tests of yachts. The travel lift, with a carrying capacity of 130 tons, completes activities with ship haulage and launching in the test basin. The brand is in constant search for new ideas and new paths for a further international growth. Pershing stands out for its capacity to customize its models according to the different needs of any new market worldwide.

The motor yacht PERSHING 115/2 is a 35 metre 115 (foot) well sized composite vessel which was newly built at Pershing (Ferretti Group) and devised by Ferretti Group Engineering Division . Sleeping 10 passengers and 4 crew members, motor yacht PERSHING 115/2 was named 115/2 .

The naval architecture office that made the design with respect to the yacht is Ferretti Group Engineering Division . Further, the interior designing was sucessful creation of Fulvio De Simoni . The Pershing 115 motor yacht combines capable sea going qualities with a very impressive cruising speed. The Pershing 115 is fitted with engines varying in size depending on the boat and they range from 3,700 hp and an impressive 42 knots cruising speed to 5,000 hp gas turbine and a seriously fast 55 knots cruising speed! The Perishing 115 combines this superior performance with comfortable conditions and sleek attractive lines.

Powered by twin MTU / TEXTRON LYCOMING gas turbine engines, PERSHING 115/2 will attain a top speed of 55 knots. Coupled to the PERSHING 115/2 engines are twin water jets.
