“There were a lot of reasons that it kind of broke down. Being in France, we weren’t quarantining, we weren’t stuck together or anything like that,” Ciara, 23, told Us Weekly exclusively on Wednesday, April 14 about the breakup. “We were there just kind of living life, but you know I was taking temporary jobs and I just kind of realized throughout taking those jobs that I was happier on my own for a lot of reasons.”

Ciara confirmed that she broke up with Paget, in December and that she wasn’t fully invested in the relationship anymore. “I loved him, but I think I was not in love,” she told Us .

The couple confirmed the end of their 9-month-engagement in separate posts earlier this month after fans questioned the status of their relationship.

Ciara first shared the news via Instagram after a comment asking her if she was still together with Paget.

“No,” the reality TV star replied. “Things happen. We’re still on good terms and wish each other nothing but the best.”

Paget followed up with his own confirmation on his social media.

“All good! Loving life at the moment personally and we are still friends,” he wrote in an Instagram comment.

The pair originally started dating in 2016 and then both appeared on the first season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht , which premiered in February 2020. Following their time on the show, the couple revealed that they were engaged in July 2020.

Ciara clarified that the split was “bound to not work out” since she was 18 years old when the relationship started. “I never really wanted to get married, if I’m being honest,” she said to Us .

The pair are still on “good terms” and continue to communicate occasionally. “There’s no bad feelings between us and I wish him nothing but the best. I need to move on with my life and I need to do what I need to do for me, and he needs to do the same,” she explained. “We’re still in good terms and we’re still friends. I wish him nothing but the best. I hope he finds someone who’s better suited … Neither of us is malicious, which is what matters. We have too much of a history to just not care about each other.”

Paget and Ciara did not return for season 2 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht , which is currently airing on Bravo. During their time on the show, fellow cast member Georgia Grobler revealed her feelings for Paget as the charter season was coming to a close.

Ciara clarified to Us that “there’s nothing bad” between her and Georgia and that “it wasn’t even a surprise” that there was a third party thrown into her relationship during the show.

When asked if cheating played a factor in the split Ciara declined to comment.

While Ciara and Georgia haven’t kept in contact, the Below Deck alum has received support from other castmembers since the split. “ Jess [More] was the first person I told and confided in [about the breakup] so she’s been really supportive. I mean, Jess is amazing anyways. She’s been my no. 1, my best friend throughout this whole thing,” Ciara shared about her newfound friendship with Jessica, who appeared on the fifth season of Below Deck Mediterranean .

Ciara revealed that Captain Glenn was another cast member that was there for her, saying, “I contacted Glenn pretty much as soon as we broke up, and I was like ‘Glenn, I need to talk to you. I need some fatherly advice.’ So we had a long chat about it.”

Captain Glenn weighed in on that bombshell and whether he thought there was a chance Georgia would be invited to Paget and Ciara’s wedding.

“I mean, Ciara stayed friends with Georgia, you know? So, who knows?” he told Us in March. “I was impressed by it because, I mean, I think she was really big about the whole thing.”

The captain said that he was proud of how Ciara handled the situation at the time.

“I mean, a little flirtation is OK, but maybe if you push it to the edge, then people, even though they pretend they’re not feeling it, I think maybe they’re a little upset,” he said to Us . “But, you know, that’s Paget. Paget should be more responsible than Georgia. But then Georgia as a friend shouldn’t push the edge.”

Watch ‘Below Deck’ Stars Ciara Duggan and Paget Berry ‘Finally’ Get Engaged in Italy

The couple shared a video of the proposal social media on Thursday.

Engagement on board! Below Deck Sailing Yacht stars Ciara Duggan and Paget Berry are “finally” engaged . The couple announced the happy news on social media Thursday.

The two shared a slideshow featuring a video of the Italy proposal and photos, including a romantic snap of them sharing a kiss before popping open a celebratory bottle of G.H. Mumm bubbly. And, naturally, the toast appeared to go down on a boat!

The proposal video showed Duggan looking confused about why Berry was filming her as she sat in front of a fountain. “What are you doing? You’re recording,” she said.

She then appeared stunned as Berry crouched down next to her and presented a ring.

“Are you serious,” Duggan can be heard saying twice in the clip.

Berry also turned to the camera to note the ring he was using was “for show.”

“Well folks, it finally happened ??,” Duggan captioned the slideshow, which also featured a photo of the gemstone-encrusted ring.

Berry also posted about the proposal, writing, “I did a thing ? ? @liveandsetsail ❤️ #engaged.”

"So excited for you guys!!!” series co-star Jenna MacGillivray commented on the post. “You deserve all the love in the world.”

The couple have since been sailing around St. Tropez, with Duggan sharing video clips from their adventures on her Instagram stories on Monday.

Right off the bat, Paget had trouble figuring out how to act as Ciara’s boss and boyfriend at the same time, which made him question their four-year-long relationship. As the season passed, Paget got closer to another crew member named Georgia and even got caught in a compromising position with her by Ciara. Naturally, this raised some tensions between the couple.

Despite facing so many ups and downs during the course of the season, Ciara remained optimistic as she was excited about her career and future with Paget. After the inaugural season of the reality show was done airing, Paget proposed to Ciara, and the couple got engaged in July 2020 while they were in Italy. They shared the news on social media while several cast members expressed their excitement in the comment section. However, since late 2020, fans have noticed that Ciara and Paget have not been featuring on each other’s social media posts. This has got all of us questioning if the couple has called it quits?

Season one of Below Deck Sailing Yacht has landed on Netflix and fans want to know if Paget and Ciara are still together, nearly four years after the show was filmed.

Fans of the reality TV series are used to seeing the Below Deck cast fall for each other while working in close quarters. But unlike many of the romances that blossom while on board and fizzle out pretty soon after, Paget and Ciara had been together for several years before they appeared on Below Deck Sailing Yacht . However, working as exterior crew together for the first time seemed to take its toll on their relationship, and they were often filmed bickering while at work.

Three years after the season first aired, it's now landed on Netflix. And much like the streaming service's viewers want to know the fate of other reality TV romances - from which Love Island couples are still together to are Raven and SK still together from Love Is Blind - now the same is being asked of Below Deck . Here, we reveal if Paget and Ciara are still together and where they are now...

Are Paget and Ciara still together?

Paget and Ciara are no longer together. In March 2021, Ciara revealed the news on her Instagram story, after replying to a curious follower who asked whether she was still with Paget. She said: "No. Things happen. We’re still on good terms and wish each other nothing but the best."

Despite their many ups and downs during the charter season, Ciara and Paget remained together after the first season of BDSY ended. The pair even announced the exciting news that they were engaged after more than four years of dating, so for some it's a shock that they have gone their separate ways.

Why did Paget and Ciara break up?

Ciara told US Weekly in April 2021 that one of the reasons she and Paget broke up was because she was happier on her own.

Describing the period of time after Below Deck Sailing Yacht - when the pair had moved to France - Ciara said: "There were a lot of reasons that it kind of broke down. Being in France, we weren’t quarantining, we weren’t stuck together or anything like that. We were there just kind of living life, but you know I was taking temporary jobs and I just kind of realized throughout taking those jobs that I was happier on my own for a lot of reasons."

However, she added the pair were on good terms, saying, "There’s no bad feelings between us and I wish him nothing but the best."

Meanwhile, Paget echoed this sentiment during an Instagram live with the season 2 stews in May the same year - adding that he and Ciara were still in contact.

Where are Ciara and Paget now?

Both Ciara and Paget are in new relationships, and Paget is engaged. The first mate shared on Instagram in August 2022 that he had proposed to his girlfriend Johana Mills, with a sweet video montage.

He wrote in the caption: " I am so proud of you and all that you are achieving and I am super stoked to be your Fiancé and future husband🤵🏼👰🏽‍♀️ Never change ❤️".

It appears the pair have been together since at least November 2021, which was when Paget posted a video of their trip to Costa Rica , which showed them kissing on a beach.

Meanwhile, Ciara posted a snap with her boyfriend on Valentine's Day this year, captioned "Happy Valentines Day mi amor!!! Beyond grateful to have you in my life ❤️❤️❤️".

Ciara is also the proud owner of a dog named Yuki and frequently shares photos and videos of the pup both on her own Instagram and a separate account dedicated to Yuki .

Paget Berry popped the question to his Below Deck Sailing Yacht costar Ciara Duggan last week with a totally unique engagement ring.

Duggan announced the news on social media, sharing a sweet Instagram slideshow that included the couple kissing while holding champagne flutes, a video of the moment Berry got down on one knee while the two were vacationing in Genova, Italy and a photo of her multi-stone sparkler.

"Well folks, it finally happened," Duggan captioned the post .

Berry also shared a few snaps from the special moment on his Instagram page, writing, "I did a thing," adding a diamond ring emoji and the hashtag "#engaged."

The pair’s friends and fans congratulated them in the comment section.

“So thrilled for you both! 😘🙌🏼🍾” one person said. A second added, “OMG STOP!!!!! This is so sweet!!! I'm SO HAPPY for you both!!! Xo”

While Below Deck Mediterranean star Anastasia Surmava wrote, “THE RING IS SO COOL!!!”

Duggan's gold ring is comprised of two large stones in the center: a purple stone resembling amethyst and a coral-colored gem. It also has two light pink stones and a small sapphire stone around the outside.

"That RING IS STUNNING," one Instagram user commented.

The Bravo stars have been sailing through the French Riviera since announcing their engagement. Earlier this week, Duggan shared a breathtaking video of a "little cruise" around St. Tropez, showing off the clear blue water.

The couple have have been dating for over four years. They first met while Berry was working on her family's boat and he introduced Duggan to the yachting industry.

Their engagement comes after Below Deck Mediterranean's João Franco popped the question to girlfriend Michelle Dicu in March.

“The most incredible feeling I have ever felt was when she said yes,” Franco captioned the pictures. “I’ve never felt a happiness so true and I fall in love with her over and over again, every day. Here is to the rest of our lives by each other’s side.”

The crew members on any Below Deck franchise live and work together in tight quarters as they cater to charter guests on luxury yachts, which means that they tend to form strong romantic connections quickly.

Though the Below Deck spin-off series, Below Deck Sailing Yacht , only debuted in 2020, plenty of stars have flirted, gotten together, and broken up during the show's run.

As viewers prepare to watch Season 3 , which will premiere on Feb. 21, we've rounded up a list of the couples who stole our attention on past seasons of the show.

Are any of them still together after engaging in said boatmances in front of the cameras? Plus, find out what stars Daisy Kelliher and Gary King had to say about their unexpected Season 3 flirtation, and to learn where things stand between them now.

1. Paget Berry and Ciara Duggan (Season 1)

Unlike all of the other couples on this list, Paget and Ciara were already about five years into their relationship when they began appearing on the debut season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht together.

During their time on the show, the duo had to navigate working together on deck, and they had to deal with stew Georgia Grobler's feelings for Paget.

Once the cameras stopped rolling, Ciara and Paget actually got engaged, leading viewers to believe that they would be the first ever pair in the Below Deck franchise to swap vows.

Unfortunately, the yachties broke up in December of 2020, about 10 months after Season 1 premiered on Bravo. They confirmed their split with separate Instagram posts in April of 2021.

Paget is now dating a woman named Johana.

2. Adam Glick and Jenna MacGillivray (Season 1)

Viewers first met Chef Adam when he appeared on two seasons of Below Deck Mediterranean — and he got involved in a bit of a messy love triangle with Malia White and Wesley "Wes" Walton.

His romance with Chief Stew Jenna was different from the start on Below Deck Sailing Yacht , and the couple went from flirting in the galley (much to the chagrin of some of their co-stars) to having a full-blown relationship off-the-boat.

After filming wrapped, Jenna and Adam traveled, and they spent the holidays together in 2019. However, by the time the reunion came around, the two were no longer together.

Though they hinted that a reconciliation was a possibility during the reunion, it does not appear as if Jenna and Adam got back together.

Jenna is currently in a relationship with a man named Dave.

3. Dani Soares and Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux (Season 2)

While they had an adorable relationship on the second season of the Below Deck spin-off, their post-show involvement is one of the most complicated stories in the history of the franchise.

As Season 2 was airing in 2021, rumors began circulating online that Dani was pregnant. The cast member confirmed her pregnancy in April of 2021 and, during the reunion, she shared that JL was the father of her daughter, Lilly Rose.

JL appeared on the reunion separately, and he had a one-on-one discussion with host Andy Cohen. During their chat, JL questioned Dani's claims, and he said that it was difficult for him to take a paternity test because they lived in different parts of the world.

In January of 2022, JL shared on Instagram that a paternity test did confirm that he is the father of Lilly.

"I can't let 2022 go any further without sharing some beautiful news. An international DNA test that was done awhile [sic] ago was no small feat. I'm happy and proud to say Sweet and beautiful Lilly rose is my daughter," he wrote in the caption of his post. "Dani and I have been working and communicating together to the best of our ability; given Dani is a full time mother and worker, and I being gone for extended periods of time not knowing when I will step back on land. This is imperative for the sake of our daughter as she needs both parents in her life."

3. Alli Dore and Gary King (Season 2)

The Bosun may have hooked up with deckhand Sydney Zaruba after the first night out, but he ended up forming more of an emotional connection with stew Alli Dore.

Their boatmance was filled with ups and downs as Alli learned that Gary wasn't being as honest as she wanted him to be — and she later found out that he had a long-term girlfriend before going on the boat.

The two did not stay together beyond the show, and Alli welcomed a son named River George Thompson with her partner, Benny Thompson, in 2021.

4. Gary King and Daisy Kelliher (Season 3)

While Gary insisted that he would not get involved in another complicated romantic situation in the Season 3 trailer, he's back in another love triangle with Ashley Marti and his fellow Season 2 co-star, Daisy Kelliher.

Though viewers have yet to see their dynamic play out on Season 3 (the two were just friends and sometimes enemies on Season 2), they've already confirmed that they are platonic now.

"It's a complicated friendship. I don't think we're more than just friends," Daisy told E! News . "We're very affectionate people and we're very affectionate towards each other and care a lot about each other and we've been through a lot over the last two years. I just think that just got a bit blurred."

Many deckhands and stews have co-mingled on Parsifal III over the years, but none of the boatmances have lasted. Will this change in Season 3? You'll have to tune in to find out.

Ciara Duggan and Paget Berry of Below Deck Sailing Yacht are no more after only a nine-month-long engagement. They are now being mocked by fans for their lackluster relationship, especially when it was obvious Paget had eyes for another.

The couple got their start on the first season of the hit nautical spin-off. Fans were introduced to the perfect couple who called the sailboat home as they had decorated the crew’s mess to replicate a small apartment that included pictures of the couple throughout their journey . The yachties originally met when Ciara’s parents hired Paget to teach their family about sailing. After courting, he proposed to the redhead in July 2020 while the pair sailed in Italy.

Sadly it looks like Paget and Ciara have hit some rough waters with their relationship going overboard. After less than a year, the two parted ways engaged with the deckhand announcing the news via her Instagram. The picture she shared was that of a mural as she explored her local surroundings. A nosy follower asked if she was still with Paget and the reality star revealed they were no longer an item saying, “No. Things happen. ‘Below Deck’ Sails Into a New Era

With a different captain at the helm and new production elements, the reality show about charter yachts is switching up its style.

Starting a new season of “ Below Deck ” can be similar to returning to summer camp as a kid — you know it’s going to be fun and that you’ll be in the same environment, but some of the people will be different and you’re not quite sure what the vibes will be.

This time around, in particular, feels that way because for the first time in the show’s 11-season run, Captain Lee Rosbach is no longer at the helm. It’s a pivotal moment for a franchise that has become one of the most popular entities in the sprawling universe of reality TV since premiering on Bravo in 2013 . The show’s appeal was built on endless romances between various crew members (“boatmances,” as they came to be known), horrible charter guests and some sort of passive-aggressive fight about how many shackles of the anchor chain should be in the water. And there was always Rosbach presiding over the drama as he trudged around the boat, reeling off one liners like “I’m madder than a pissed-on chicken” and “we screwed the pooch so many times we should have a litter of puppies running around.”

At the center of the show now is Kerry Titheradge (the stern yet goofy captain of “Below Deck Adventure” fame), who is managing the Motor Yacht Saint David with the cheeky chief stew Fraser Olender by his side.

With that change in captain, the energy on the boat — both onscreen and off — is different, according to Olender.

“I feel like Kerry this season, as opposed to Lee, has a no B.S. attitude, which I love with him,” Olender said in an interview. “With Kerry, he taught me a lot and sort of forced to me confront issues directly with my team, work them out, as opposed to making executive decisions too soon.”

This shift in management style changes the central conflict — whereas the drama once focused on the captain swiftly kicking out any unpleasant crew member (as we might have seen with Rosbach), the drama now focuses on the whole crew trying to get along (since Titheradge gives people those second chances).

Additionally, Olender noted that the captain’s relationship with the crew can also affect the drama on board.

“Captains absolutely do get involved, whether they know it or not,” Olender said, adding that for the crew, everything is about “trying to impress your captain.”

This phenomenon plays out early in the new season when the lead deckhand, Ben Willoughby, called out a fellow crew member over the radios about not wearing a life vest — something he easily could have done in private. The drama that followed became an interpersonal conflict between the two of them, both with the ultimate goal of impressing Titheradge. (Of course, the two deckhands had kissed on the previous crew night out, which is more in line with the “Below Deck” drama viewers are used to.)

For “Below Deck” showrunners, the changeovers in the cast allowed them to rethink what the show would look like.

From the season premiere, it was immediately apparent that Rosbach’s absence wasn’t the only change this season: The filming is sleeker, the daily, multicourse meals prepared by the chef are given their own glamour shots and the cameras sometimes cut to the perspectives of yachties running around on deck and through the galley.

“Our showrunner, Lauren Simms, is an avid consumer of all different kinds of media,” Noah Samton, a senior vice president of unscripted current production for NBCUniversal, said in an interview. “She pitches us different ideas on how to stylistically evoke different feelings and change the mood a little bit of ‘Below Deck’ without removing what really works.”

Moving through the rest of the season, and potentially through seasons to come, Olender is aiming to bring a cutthroat management style while also bringing affection for his stews, all with his signature British humor.

On Bravo’s side, there are changes in the works for the other “Below Deck” spinoffs — including “Sailing Yacht,” “Mediterranean” and “Down Under” — which collectively, have 26 seasons. Specifically, Samton said that “Down Under” is currently filming and that even though fans should be ready to see new things, the show will stay true to its original concept.

“These are real yachties doing a real job so you have to stay within those confines because the audience isn’t going to want anything that is too produced or fake,” Samton said. “So we have to find ways to reinvent while staying true to the original concept of the show.”

And as Olender said: “I’m sure that every year if I were to work with this franchise again, that I’ll be thrown a collection of total chaotic and disastrous stews — that’s what makes it watchable.”

Daisy has appeared on three seasons of Below Deck Sailing Yacht and helped turn the show around after a lackluster first season.

Despite a serious rift in the dream team trio of Colin, Daisy, and Gary following Season 4, fans still can’t get enough of them.

Ahead of her fourth stint on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Daisy has opened up about life following her success and how she ended up on the show.

Daisy lost her job during the COVID-19 pandemic and at the urging of friends, she applied to be on Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

Speaking with The Irish Independent, Daisy admitted that a couple of weeks after applying, she was filming Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2 in Croatia.

Although it may seem like Daisy’s life has changed drastically since she became a staple on the sailing franchise, she insists that’s not the case.

“My life hasn’t changed dramatically, but there have been small, subtle changes – it’s been fun,” she expressed to the outlet.

As Monsters and Critics previously reported, one big change for Daisy is her new friendship with Hollywood A-list star Christina Applegate.

Daisy also looked back on her life since her Below Deck Sailing Yacht debut, admitting she didn’t think she would get the gig, but is beyond happy she did.

“The last three years have been kind of a whirlwind, I really can’t complain. I’m getting to do all my yachting work and slowly getting to do other things as well,” Daisy stated.

With her fourth season hitting Bravo airwaves this year, one can’t help but wonder how much longer Daisy will still be on Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

“I’m just being a ‘yes person’ at the moment. The last few years have changed very quickly, so my attitude right now is just saying yes and seeing where things take me,” Daisy spilled. “I’ve done everything from podcasts to the show, to still doing both, so every day is very different. I don’t know what the future holds right now.”

Along with opening up about her success on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Daisy also shared if she still speaks to Gary following sexual misconduct allegations against him.

Last summer, Gary was accused of sexual misconduct by a production team member. However, even before that, Daisy and Gary were at odds over things that went down during Season 4, especially her hooking up with Colin.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans have wondered where Daisy and Gary stand today following the scandal and their fallout. After all, Gary was removed from BravoCon after the allegations against him came to light, so no resolution to his and Daisy’s friendship was revealed there.

During an Instagram Stories Q&A session, Daisy asked who she talks to from the show. Dani Soares and Gary were two names Daisy brought up immediately.

Although she did mention she keeps in touch with others like Alli Dore, Daisy also declared that they all simply live different lives. Daisy confirmed that no other cast members from Below Deck Sailing Yacht live in London, where she resides.

Daisy frequently hangs with Below Deck stars Fraser Olender and Hayley De Sola Pinto. She also spends time with Below Deck Med alum Courtney Veale since they live in London.
