Une petite bombe, réactive. Je l'utilise en pumptrack, mais même si je ne maîtrise pas encore totalement la bête elle a un sacré potentiel.

Landyachtz Tugboat Jet Ski Fun Complete

Description

A lively new graphic from our friend Filipo Colombo, paired with a bright, two tone dyed face veneer makes for a fresh new take on our beloved Tugboat shape. We threw on some narrow 130mm Polar Bear traditional kingpin trucks, which are different from the 155mm that have been used on Tugboats in the past, for extra maneuverability. The decrease in truck width also allows for some extra wheel clearance, so we threw on nice big ol’ Fatty Hawgs for that extra roll speed needed on those long commutes or all-day skate adventures. This thing is smooth and fast, just like a jet ski. Specs:

  • Wheelbase: 15

The decrease in truck width also allows for some extra wheel clearance, so we gave you the choice of either 63mm Fatty Hawgs or the all new 63mm by 63mm Doozies for an extra plush ride. This thing is smooth and fast, just like a jet ski.

A wider and slightly longer version of the Dinghy, the Tugboat comes in at 30″ long and 9″ wide for a super solid, stable feeling ride. The wider platform is ideal for riders with larger feet who are looking for a comfortable cruiser board experience. The extra meat also inspires confidence and gives you more platform to land on when doing tricks on larger obstacles. The Tugboat is pressed with 7 plies of Canadian maple for a light, stiff and poppy ride. It comes set up with Polar Bear 130mm trucks for maximum stability and leverage and an angled riser in the front gives this board a directional feel and really helps to provide predictable, fluid carves with a highly relaxed riding style. 63mm 78a Fatty Hawgs or 63mm x 63mm 78a Doozies finish off the setup for a fast, smooth ride.

FLEX RATING

So, what’s flex and why is it important to a skateboard? In skate-nerd terms, flex is the amount of displacement a deck sees when a specific amount of force is applied to it. Check out our formula to the left! There are a few factors that affect flex, like deck thickness, wheelbase, and the amount of force on a deck. We built a machine and put our entire lineup to the test by applying the exact same amount of force to all our boards and measured the displacement we saw in each. This gives a totally scientific and accurate flex range across our entire line! It’s important to understand flex when choosing a board. Here are some basics: Downhill/freeride skateboards will have less flex because you need a stiff platform to stand on when you’re bombing or gripping a corner at speed. Carving skateboards will have more flex, giving you the ability to sink into your turns and pump or carve with ease. Most cruisers, dance and ATV boards will have less flex for control when doing tricks but just enough to be forgiving when pushing around town. We’ve engineered our boards with the best flex for each style of riding but remember, flex is subjective so get out and see what you like the most!

POLAR BEAR 130MM

Some of us still like to ride a board that is a bit on the narrower-side. And, of course, you need trucks to match it. If you step down in board size then it’s time to step it up to the 130mm Polar Bears. Sold in pairs.

Bushings: 85a is softer, 90a is harder. Softer bushings are more lively but less stable – with 88a being what we usually use in our completes. Polar Bear 130mm WHEELS

63MM DOOZIES

These wheels are one heck of a Doozie. They will keep you out of trouble, whether you are on or off the board. They will keep you rolling smoothly over anything in your path, they will obliterate any obstacle that gets in your way, and they will provide you with an amazing feeling on your skateboard. They slide smooth when you want them to slide, and they carry you through corners with lots of grip when you need them to. This is a fantastic wheel for anyone that is looking to add some crackerjack sassafras to their setup.

The Landyachtz Tugboat . It's the lesser-known big brother of the Dinghy , but what it's missing in cult following it more than makes up for in smooth handling, comfort and all-round shredability!

What is a Landyachtz Tugboat?

The Tugboat is a medium sized (30" x 9.24") cruiser skateboard produced by Landyachtz Longboards. As the Dinghy rose in popularity around 2016, Landyachtz expanded the lineup to first include different graphic options, and later new shapes and sizes too. Thus the Dinghy Blunt and the Tugboat were born.

Whats the difference between a Dinghy and a Tugboat?

An inch and a half in length, and around an inch in width. The classic Dinghy is 28.5" x 8" compared to the Tugboat at 30" x 9.24" .

The Tugboat also has a longer wheelbase and wider trucks at 155mm compared to 105mm on the Dinghy.

The numbers may seem small, but the real difference comes in the feeling of that extra trackwidth, wheelbase and standing platform. These all add up to make an overall more planted feeling without compromising much on the maneuverability - and in a package that is still small and light enough to go on a rucksack or in a locker.

Is the Landyachtz Tugboat good for beginners?

Stability is key for most beginners. In that sense, the Tugboat is a great option relative to the Dinghy - the longer wheelbase, wider trucks and bigger standing platform make it a lot more stable. If you're a beginner looking specifically for a cruiser like this, the Tugboat will be one of the most user-friendly boards to start with.

That's not to say it's purely a beginners board - the Tugboat will be with you for years to come and as civilised as it is for getting started, it's a real shredder at heart and will be happy to accompany you if you decide to start pushing harder, popping ollies and powerslides.

Can you ollie on a Landyachtz Tugboat?

For sure. The tail geometry and truck placement work perfectly with the 60mm wheels for great pop. You can really make this thing fly!

Are all Landyachtz Tugboat the same?

Yes. At the time of writing, all Landyachtz Tugboats are the same aside from colours and graphics.

Are there any alternatives to a Landyachtz Tugboat?

The Tugboat is far from the only cruiser skateboard available and the price tag can be offputting, especially to beginners. Luckily, there are a plethora of other mini cruisers available from a host of respected brands! Some great alternatives are:

Our favourites can be found in our  Cruiser Skateboards Beginner's Guide . Alternatively, check out our detailed Cruiser Comparison guide for a closer look at all the differences between cruisers to help you make an informed decision on what will feel best under your feet!

Should I get a Dinghy or a Tugboat?

The quick answer for most people is: Tugboat. The longer and wider platform is more suited to adult feet, giving a lot of extra confidence, especially for beginners. At 155mm, the trucks are also around 50% wider than those on the Dinghy and will be a lot more stable initially, and also as you grow to tackle some descents too. For most adults looking to simply enjoy cruising and carving, we recommend the Tugboat over the Dinghy.

Having said that, the Dinghy is a fantastic option for those with small feet and for kids. For street skaters too, it will feel closer to what you know and is more responsive to flip tricks than the wider Tugboat. Both are nippy, light and agile and can easily be strapped to a backpack or thrown under a desk.

What trucks and wheels come on a Landyachtz Tugboat?

The Landyachtz Tugboat comes as standard with 155mm Polar Bear trucks, 60mm Lil EZ Hawgs wheels in 78a, and Bear Spaceballs built-in bearings.

Review Information

All Landyachtz Tugboat have an average rating of 4.97 with 19 reviews across 4 products . The highest product rating is "5" and the lowest product rating is "0" .

Landyachtz Tugboat vs. The Dinghy

The Landyachtz Tugboat and the Dinghy are two of the most popular cruiser boards on the market. Both boards are great for beginners and experienced riders alike. But which one is the better board for you?

To help you decide, we've put together a detailed comparison of the two boards. We'll cover everything from their size and weight, to their riding style and performance. Read on to find out which board is right for you.

Size and Weight

The first thing to consider when choosing between the Landyachtz Tugboat and the Dinghy is their size and weight. The Tugboat is slightly larger than the Dinghy, measuring 31" long and 8.5" wide. It also weighs in at 4.5 pounds, making it the heavier of the two boards.

The Dinghy, on the other hand, is 29" long and 8" wide. It's also much lighter than the Tugboat, weighing in at just 3.5 pounds. So if you're looking for a smaller and lighter board, the Dinghy is the better option.

Riding Style

The next thing to consider is your riding style. The Landyachtz Tugboat is designed for cruising and carving, while the Dinghy is more of an all-purpose board that can be used for everything from commuting to technical riding.

If you're mostly going to be riding around town or on flat terrain, the Tugboat is a great option. It's stable and easy to ride, and its larger size makes it more comfortable for longer rides.

If you're looking for a board that can do it all, however, the Dinghy is the better choice. It's smaller and lighter, making it easier to maneuver, and its versatile design makes it good for both cruising and carving.

Performance

Finally, let's compare the performance of the Landyachtz Tugboat and the Dinghy. Both boards are great for cruising and carving, but they each have their own strengths and weaknesses.

The Landyachtz Tugboat is the faster of the two boards, thanks to its larger size and weight. It's also more stable at high speeds, making it better for downhill riding. However, its larger size can make it difficult to maneuver in tight spaces.

The Dinghy, on the other hand, is slower than the Tugboat but more agile. It's also less stable at high speeds, so it's not ideal for downhill riding. But its smaller size makes it easier to maneuver in tight spaces.

So which board is right for you? That depends on your riding style and what you're looking for in a cruiser board. If you're mostly going to be riding around town or on flat terrain, the Landyachtz Tugboat is a great option. If you're looking for a versatile board that can do it all, the Dinghy is the better choice.

A brief history of Landyachtz

Landyachtz was established in 1997 by Michael Perreten and Thomas Edstrand in Vancouver, British Columbia. The company started out as a small operation, manufacturing longboards in Edstrand's garage. Landyachtz has since grown into a major player in the skateboard industry, with a team of pro riders and a wide range of products.

Landyachtz's first breakthrough came with the release of their Freeride series of longboards in 2003. The Freeride series was designed for downhill and freeride skating, and it quickly gained popularity among skaters looking for a board that could handle high speeds and big hills.

In 2006, Landyachtz released the Drop Carve series, which was designed for carving and commuting. The Drop Carve quickly became a favorite among skaters who wanted a board that could handle tight turns and long distance skating.

Landyachtz has continued to innovate in the skateboard industry, with the release of new products like the Switchblade, a mini cruiser designed for maneuverability and portability. Landyachtz has also expanded into other markets, such as snowboarding, with the release of their line of snowboards.

Is the Landyachtz Tugboat worth it?

Landyachtz is a company that is always innovating and expanding, and they show no signs of slowing down anytime soon. With a commitment to quality and an eye for innovation, Landyachtz is poised to continue their growth in the skateboard industry and beyond.

The Landyachtz Tugboat is one of the most popular longboards on the market. It's a great board for beginners and experienced riders alike. But is it worth the price?

Here's what you need to know about the Landyachtz Tugboat before you make your decision:

1. The Landyachtz Tugboat is a great all-around longboard. It's versatile and can be used for transportation, cruising, or even downhill racing.

2. The deck is made of high-quality maple wood, which makes it durable and long-lasting.

3. The trucks and wheels are also high-quality and provide a smooth ride.

4. The Landyachtz Tugboat is also one of the most affordable longboards on the market.

1. Some riders find the deck to be too stiff, which can make it difficult to turn.

2. The board is also on the heavy side, which can make transportation difficult.

3. The graphic design may not be to everyone's taste.

Should You Buy The Landyachtz Tugboat?

The Landyachtz Tugboat is a great all-around longboard that is perfect for beginners and experienced riders alike. It's versatile, durable, and relatively affordable. However, some riders may find the deck to be too stiff and the board to be too heavy. Ultimately, the decision of whether or not to buy the Landyachtz Tugboat depends on your personal preferences and needs.

Jet skis have increased in popularity over the years which is what has made their appearances out in the waters more common.

However, as the demand for jet skis increases, their prices keep going up and not everyone can afford to buy one.

Similarly, there are those people that can purchase a jet ski but they are not willing to as they only use them for a short period of time during the summer season.

For such people, purchasing a jet ski just to ride it for a couple of months and then keep it tied to a dock for the rest is unreasonable to say the least. Therefore, a good route for you to take is renting a jet ski.

Renting a jet ski can be the perfect solution to all your jet ski buying problems and can make you feel no difference.

How to get a jet ski for rent

The good news is that there are several jet ski rental companies you can choose from.

From small family businesses to large companies with several locations there are countless different services are available nationwide:

Offsite Jet Ski Rental Services

While it’s a less common solution to get a jet ski for rent, it’s quite convenient and has been tested in the past. If you want to rent a jet ski, just give a call to the rental service and they will deliver the jet ski straight to your location.

Many rentals also offer a fixed pick-up and drop-off location which means that you have to pick up and drop off the ski on a pre-arranged fixed point yourself.

These rentals are really flexible as far as time is concerned and in most cases daily, weekend, or even weekly rental packages are also available.

The minimum renting time, however, is usually at least one day, because of which you can’t rent a jet ski just for an hour or two.

An advantage of using these services is that everything you need for your ride is provided by them. Life jackets are usually included in the price, and watersport equipment (like wakeboards, tubes) is also available typically for a certain extra charge.

Moreover, if you decide to get a jet ski for rent in this way, it will be delivered with a full tank of fuel.

It should be noted, however, that filling up the tank upon return may be your duty as well as the cleaning of the watercraft in some cases.

These tiny details always depend on the rental’s policy so always make sure that you’ve read and understood their policy thoroughly and ask questions about any confusion that you have in order to avoid embarrassment and even extra money later.

Payment in advance might also be necessary in most cases along with an early reservation.

To get all the information about a rental company, it is always best to check the rental’s FAQ and online booking form, or better yet just give them a call for your queries about availability and reservation.

Onsite Jet Ski Rental Services

Classic onsite jet ski rentals are the typical and most common way you can get a jet ski for rent.

These rentals manage everything for you like fueling, launching and even educating you about the basics.

The jet ski fleet is waiting for customers in the water or on “drive-on jet ski docks”, so the start-up is convenient and fast.

The most common time frames that you can rent a jet ski for one hour and two hours rentals.

However, at some places, 15-30 minute rentals may also be available. So you can enjoy your experience of riding a jet ski in a short period of time as well. Additionally, if you do not have a Boating Safety Card (jet ski license) , you can get a temporary one from these services.

All you have to do is take part in a short introductory education session and then fill a test form.

Guided Jet Ski tours

Many jet ski rental companies offer guided jet ski tours.

These tours are a great way to enable you to enjoy riding a jet ski despite having any prior experience.

The companies administrating these tours will provide you with thorough assistance throughout, making it all easy and memorable for you.

The tours are usually 2 or 3 hours long where a professional guide rides with you on his own jet ski. There usually is a larger group of riders that ride together and a fixed route that the group follows.

Additionally, private tours are also available in case you are not comfortable with going with a group. This includes just the one guide riding with you on his own jet ski.

In this case, your guide can even personalize the tour based on your preference.

Other advantages of these tours include the opportunity to engage in other activities like dolphin watching, snorkeling or beaching on beautiful islands. You can discover the amazing wildlife and even see multi-million dollars waterfront homes and yachts from the water.

The fun and adventures offered by these tours go beyond just jet skiing and this is what makes them a common choice for many people.

What’s more to note is that if you want to discover more crowded areas like waters around New York City, guided tours are your only chance as they take a larger group and are pre-organized.

You might not be able to ride through such areas if you were on your own on a private jet ski.

Don't miss the guided jet ski tours!

Advantages of renting commercially

Some of the major benefits of renting commercially are as follows:

  • Nationwide availability of jet ski rental service providers.
  • Rentals usually provide free parking to their customers.
  • You have different brands to choose from.
  • Freedom to select big or small crafts with more or less engine power.
  • No responsibilities of trailering, launching and cleaning.
  • Some rental companies even allow their customers to take the craft to the lake of their choice or even get it delivered there for an extra fee.
  • You will be given clear instructions or even a small training session if you are riding for the first time.
  • It is safer to ride a jet ski if you have rented it from a rental because you will be riding under their supervision. Their lifeguards are well-trained professionals; well equipped to tackle tricky situations with ease.

While there are many benefits of using jet ski rentals, a few drawbacks include high cost, multiple additional hidden fees, and taxes.

All these costs are, however, for your safety and the professional level of service they offer.

Peer to Peer Jet Ski Rental

The second method of renting a jet ski is through peer to peer renting.

This means that you get directly in contact with the private owners and rent your jet ski through them. You may find several peer to peer rental offers on mediator websites, such as  Clickandboat.com .

You can get the craft for a whole day through this method as peer to peer renting usually doesn’t involve hourly rental.

You can get in touch with the private owners online and decide the pricing and conditions of your rental agreement. Here are a few benefits of peer to peer renting:

  • Get the craft for a whole day and take it wherever you want.
  • The cost is usually less than what the jet ski rentals would charge for a whole day.
  • Renters don’t usually charge extra hidden fees like  some unethical rental services.

Peer to peer jet ski rental: trailering and launching will be your duty

Peer to peer jet ski rental: trailering and launching will be your duty

Even with the benefit of cost, this is not a widely used method by people who rent crafts. With no rental or insurance policies , and unclear terms and conditions, people don’t usually feel confident about this method of renting.

With Peer-to-peer method, you should know that trailering, fueling, launching and  cleaning  will fall under your duties; renters would want the craft just the way they gave you.

Borrowing from Family/Friends

This is more like borrowing than renting because you would know the lender personally.

But, when it comes to jet ski, you need to understand that it costs thousands of dollars to purchase one. If you are borrowing it from a friend or someone in your family, damaging it won’t be a good idea.

Also good to know that many jet ski owners doesn’t like when they asked for borrowing their jet skis.

So always think twice to ask especially from close friends or relatives! And don’t be surprised if say no and suggest to get a jet ski for rent from a professional rental company.

Despite that, it is the easiest way if they let you borrow it.

Some benefits of this method are as follows:

  • No renting cost at all.
  • You are free to take it for days if you get permission.
  • No extra or hidden fees. Just pay for gas that you use.

While there is a big benefit of not paying any renting fee, there is a significant  risk  of compromising your relationship.

This is because a jet ski is a big, if not a huge investment and if you cause any damage to it, your friend or family member won’t be very pleased.

Another drawback includes the trailering , launching, and cleaning of the watercraft on your own. So, you may still have to spend some money on these things.

So if you do not prefer of get jet ski for rent from professional services, you can consider borrowing one instead.

Just make sure you are aware of all the pros and cons, and what problems may arise

Canadian Maple is a strong and proven material used in the world’s best skateboards. We source only the finest veneers found in Eastern Canada.

Take your skating into the third dimension with a kicktail. We design our kicktails to work perfectly with each deck shape as well as with the truck and wheel setup on each complete.

SANDED WHEEL WELLS

Wheel wells reduce the risk of wheel-bite by increasing the gap between wheels and deck. Sanded or CNC’d wheel wells both allow for larger wheels or looser trucks, if desired.

Flex Rating

Flex has a big impact on the overall feel of your board and is influenced by a bunch of different factors. The main ones being thickness of the deck, it's wheelbase and rider weight. To put the equation in laymans terms: more flex occurs when you decrease thickness of the deck, increase the wheelbase and increase rider weight. The more flex in your board the more carvy and agile it'll feel, less flex means it's more stable and suited for faster skating. We test every complete with a device we built in house, specifically to standardize flex ratings.

Super speedy

Haven’t skated in 10 years and got this to get back into it. Almost died as soon as I stepped on. 10/10.

Awesome board

It’s my first board ever, but I’ve been riding it essentially non-stop everyday since I got it. I should’ve read the description better, because when I first started riding it, it was WAY more carvy than I was used. But once you get over the learning curve it’s incredibly fun, I literally can’t put it down.

A bit car carvier than I expected

Bought as beginner board and it’s very fun to cruise around this board, but it’s a bit more carvier than I expected so it was hard to get started

What is there not to like?

Everything about it is exactly as expected. Super carvy makes it easy to navigate through people on campus. Small enough to store in class but big enough to be comfortable to ride. If you want something for campus this is great. Ended up liking it so much I just bought a drop cat 38 to go on longer cruises but the tugboat could do it too. I’ve never skated before and I’d recommend tightening up the trucks to help learn easier but overall it’s a great board.
