They say buying a boat can be one of the greatest days of your life.,,well it can be. Just ask Chad Robertson to help you. I was referred to Chad by a friend as I was looking for my first boat. From the start, Chad taught he do much about what to look for and what to look out for. Rather than the used car dealer pressure to get an expensive vessel, Chad took time to find the right boat at the right price No question went unanswered and never did I feel pressured. Having a great support staff of survey people and honest repair guys helped me to pay a fair price for the boat I was amazed on how much time he gave me and all his great ideas and words of wisdom Using Denison as a company is nice as they are big enough to have all the resources yet small enough to respect me as a customer I had to talk Chad into me getting a bigger boat than he suggested!! If you are into looking for your dream vessel, it's a blast to explore and see. Thanks Chad
My first day at the helm. I used a captain to help me....you can't see the look of fear in my face!!!!!
Looked to buy a midsized boat only to find it to be a phantom.....multiple addresses, various unrelated photos. Then broker cancelled site visit after I requested an updated video of boat starting @ the mail box. I would say Scammers. Run Forrest.
All was going fine until the last minute. Denison said they didn't have the full amount from the buyer. I found out that wasn't true I could had canceled the sale and kept the deposit. I don't In addition the broker who represented me said I had agreed to pay all winter storage charges. Not true and there was not in wiring
Extremely dishonest. Tried to make me pay winter storage for the buyer on my boat. I never said i would and there is nothing in writing
I recently had the pleasure of completing a sales transaction for the Suzanne E, a 44' Pacific Seacraft sailboat, using Denison Yacht Sales and Scott LaCroix (broker) and I couldn't be happier with the entire experience. From start to finish, the process was seamless and filled with professionalism, making it a truly positive and memorable event. Throughout the sales transaction, Scott demonstrated a high level of knowledge and expertise of all aspects of the sales transaction. They were responsive to my inquiries and provided detailed information about the boat's history, maintenance records, and any upgrades or modifications that had been made. His transparency and boating knowledge along with the willingness to address all my concerns instilled confidence in the boat's condition and the transaction as a whole. The seller and broker also went above and beyond to ensure a smooth and secure transaction including making the boat available to me 2+ weeks. They facilitated the necessary paperwork, including the transfer of ownership and any required inspections, making the process hassle-free for both parties. Their professionalism and attention to detail were evident in every step, making me feel reassured and comfortable throughout the entire process. Although I did not get a chance to meet the seller in person, she and Scott made the boat available to me for a full week prior to the offer allowing me to inspect every nook, bin and storage hole on the boat. Scott also arranged for the boat to remain in the club slip until my departure. Overall, I cannot speak highly enough of the sales transaction for the Suzanne E. The boat itself far exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend using Denison Yacht's and moreover Scott LaCroix to anyone in search of a quality sailboat and a seamless sales process.
Wonderful experience purchasing a yacht through Russ Schafer at Dennison Ft Lauderdale. Even though the boat was listed through Dennison (another broker) We felt Russ was 100% on our side. He was wonderfully helpful and attentive through this entire process which helped us immensely. The most unethical, unprofessional organization that I've experienced. Shawn Hennessy has Zero integrity, stay away from these guys!!!! I was returning from a business trip waiting for my flight when I got through to the broker and made an offer on a 34 Mainship. He got back to me within minutes with a counter from the owner to which I agreed and requested a contract. The broker was not in the office and suggested it would take him an hour to get it to me. I explained that I would be in flight by then and offered to immediately wire $5k to validate my intent and to hold the offer until I land (2.5 Hrs). In the 30 minutes I had prior to my departure, I had secured a surveyor, agreed on a date and bought tickets. He suggested no worries the agreement would be in my mailbox, just respond quickly because there is activity on the boat. The second I landed I opened, read and signed the agreement. I got home and sent him an email requesting confirmation of receipt of the agreement and the date to survey the boat -two days out. He responded that he had received a better offer and would touch base if it falls through. He would not return my call, allow me to counter, just a complete blow off!!!!! It is total BS that he would put out another contract without consulting me or ability to counter. My offer was clearly first otherwise why would he send me a contract that was less then an a preexisting offer. Or better yet, why not give me the ability to counter. How does he know where I was willing to go. They wouldn't even tell me the winning bid!!! What a joke!!!
Terrible experience I would go elsewhere. I contracted with Denison to sell my Mainship 34. I was in NYC and was assured that the sale would be covered locally. It was not. The Newport broker was dishonest and did little if anything to sell the boat. The boat sold quickly as Denison underpriced it. The broker did not show up until the sea trial and then failed to process the paperwork for several weeks so the buyer could register the boat. Repeated calls to Denison were ignored. Disreputable and dishonest.
Sold me a boat and a charter program to help pay for it. Spent over 100k fixing the boat up to there requests. They made me purchase a $20,000 charter package, and didn't have ONE charter for me. They lie through there teeth to sell you a boat, they don't give a shit about there customers.
We were poorly represented and ultimately lost a purchase and $1500 due to poor client management.... Denison as a company seems like a good outfit but be careful who you work with. Amanda Haley is self serving, a poor communicator and is not a straight shooter; she looks to service herself more than her clients... Rick sounded decent but failed to deliver on his verbal commitments... we are still waiting ... and never raised our issue with management. At the end of day, be careful out there... a lot of smooth talking, self serving agents ... glad to know there are a few good ones such as Mathew Morrison you can actually trust to represent you. Denison should have better governance / service quality control and in our case should have stepped in and made things right after a 'sea trial gone bad' (which we had nothing to do with... except lose $ and a purchase) safe sailing out there ....
