Delivered in 2019 by the world renown Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo, XWAVE is a 32.2m (105.6ft) motor yacht built of composite to RINA classification. This SL106 features a sleek exterior design by Francesco Paszkowski and a contemporary interior by Marty Lowe. Having been only privately used, XWAVE has been well maintained by her original owner who is an experienced yachtsman, and she presents in immaculate condition.

XWAVE’s contemporary interior design features teak flooring, light woodwork and soft goods, and pops of colour throughout. The main saloon has an open layout with a large lounging area with bar aft and a dining area forward. This entertaining space is surrounded by large picture windows and there is a fold-down balcony through full-height sliding glass doors on the port side.

With accommodation for 10 guests in five cabins, XWAVE features an owner's suite on the main deck and four additional guest cabins on the lower deck. Surrounded by 180-degree, forward-facing windows, the owner's suite, entered on the port side, provides the ultimate retreat with an en suite bathroom, dressing area, and office space. Four well appointed and versatile guest cabins can be found on the lower deck consisting of two double cabins, one twin cabin and one convertible cabin, all with private en suite bathrooms.

XWAVE’s exterior decks provide a mix of luxury living and outdoor entertainment. The vast fly bridge is a highlight. This adaptable space features a sun lounging area aft, with a covered al fresco dining area and wet bar forward.

Walkaround sidedecks lead forward to a Portuguese bridge lounge and the main deck aft hosts another al fresco dining area or can be used as a lounging area for sea-level living. The swim platform provides easy access for watersports and is connected to the transom tender garage, which houses a 4.5m (14.8ft) tender and a jetski. 

Powered by twin 2,400hp MTU diesel engines, XWAVE features an impressive maximum speed of 28 knots, with a cruising speed of 24 knots. A fin stabilisation system provides ultimate comfort underway and at anchor.

XWAVE was purchased brand new by the current owner.   Since taking delivery the owner has only used the vessel for family vacations and has always followed a strict maintenance policy.   XWAVE has never been offered for charter so the Captain has always had time to schedule the annual maintenance and adhere to the strict RINA Class standards. The vessel completed the 5yr RINA Class inspection in August and has received the updated classification certificate.    Along with completing the RINA inspection in August the vessel also completed the following list of work:

XWAVE was purchased brand new by the current owner.  Since taking delivery the owner has only used the vessel for family vacations and has always followed a strict maintenance policy.  XWAVE has never been offered for charter so the Captain has always had time to schedule the annual maintenance and adhere to the strict RINA Class standards. The vessel completed the 5yr RINA Class inspection in August and has received the updated classification certificate.  Along with completing the RINA inspection in August the vessel also completed the following list of work:

Work completed in July/August 2023:

• Removal and replacement of thru hull valves
• Rebuilt Fire and Bilge pump
• Megger test on fire and bilge pump, generators, engine room ventilation, fuel transfer pump
• Shafts dialed, straightened, dye penetration test, props lapped on – new tides seals
• New cutlass bearings
• Rudders bump tested
• Anchor chains gauged – Anchor chains repaint (RYBWG) Anchors repainted
• All batteries load tested
• New chiller coils for AC
• Backup AC raw water pumps rebuilt
• Black and Grey water tanks inspected
• New grey water sensor
• Shafts and rudders will received new prop speed
• Main engines automatic shut downs checked (low oil, overspeed, etc)

Due to the recently completed work the vessel is in true turn-key condition. 

Focal points of the main salon are a stunning hydraulic drop-down terrace, a large L-Shaped sofa and a dining area. A substantial garage stores a Williams jet tender and other water sports equipment, leaving the decks and flybridge uncluttered for entertaining. At the bow is a seating and sunbathing area shaded by a removable sail-cover style awning.

Accommodations include a spacious on-deck Master stateroom, with 180 degree views and large ensuite head.  Additionally, two generously appointed VIP staterooms and two elegant guest staterooms are meticulously designed to ensure a superior level of comfort for all passengers. Each stateroom is thoughtfully equipped with ensuite heads, guaranteeing the utmost privacy and convenience. One of the guest staterooms features a convertible sliding berth system, offering flexibility to configure the space as a twin or double berth arrangement, catering to diverse guest preferences.

It’s a boater’s worst nightmare. Howling 40-knot winds churning-up near-vertical 20-feet walls of frothing sea. Add to the maelstrom a vicious rip-tide, horizontal rain and menacing coal-black skies. Definitely not a good day for a cocktail cruise around the bay.

This was the punishing sea-trial inflicted on the newly christened Enmer , a no-nonsense 75-foot XSV20 explorer yacht, before being delivered to her new owner, French billionaire and passionate yachtsman Jack Setton.

Even the delivery was extreme. Before Monsieur Setton was handed the keys, Enmer went on a 2,500-mile, high-speed blast from builder Safehaven Marine’s yard in Cork, Ireland, to her new slip in ritzy Porto Cervo, Sardinia.

Now, after more than a year of cruising the Med and Caribbean, Setton has decided to sell the military-grade Enmer – the name is French for “At Sea,” with an asking price of about $2.35 million. “It’s time for me to lose a lot of money, which I seem to do regularly with my boats, and let someone else enjoy her,” Setton told Robb Report .

Setton’s past acquisitions have included the rugged 194-foot expedition yacht Senses , the 60-foot high-performance sailing yacht Ciao Gianni , named after his close friend, the late Fiat boss Gianni Agnelli, and the record-shattering 110-foot “Maxi” catamaran Swift . After his last “project,” the converted 105-foot Texas commercial fishing boat Pink Shrimp, which Setton transformed it into a luxurious world traveler, the Frenchman went looking for something equally rugged, but faster.

Setton found it in the XSV20, with an innovative, wave-piercing hull, thundering 51-mph top speed and go-anywhere capability. “I’ve always loved boats that look rugged on the outside but are comfortable inside—boats with no frills that I know will get the job done,” he says.

The serial yacht owner worked with Safehaven to fine-tune the design, installing twin 1,150-hp Cat C18s hooked-up to waterjets. For Setton, the goal was less complexity, easier maintenance and better low-speed maneuverability. Those factors were important since it would be primarily Setton and his girlfriend who would cruise on the boat.

What didn’t change was the XSV20’s unique hull design. It starts as a carbon fiber and Kevlar-reinforced mono hull with a knife-like, wave-piercing bow. This then flows back into a deep-V mid-section, then seamlessly transitions into twin, catamaran-style hulls. He used inch-thick ballistic glass for the forward windows to provide extra protection for the wheelhouse.

Not a fan of boats that careen over waves, Setton designed a unique ballasting system. “It keeps the nose down, so the boat acts like a submarine, punching straight through the waves,” he says. “We experienced some bad conditions in the Med and it took everything incredibly well.”

Though fast, Setton prefers to run at slower speeds. “Yes, she’ll get up to 51 mph but she’s a lot happier at 40,” he says. Come down to 30 mph and she’ll cover over 600 nautical miles without refueling. You have a lot of performance and range.”

The interior was designed to be simple, yet comfortable enough for long cruises. Below decks, there’s a master suite, a guest cabin and crew quarters in the bow. When the seas turn gnarly, the pilothouse features four SHOXS commercial-grade, shock-absorbing helm and passenger seats for safety and comfort.

Setton thinks the next owner will either be someone looking for a boat to turn heads cruising into St. Tropez or an experienced sailor looking for adventures. “I need someone who is as passionate about the boat as I am,” he says. “I admit that I have turned down buyers in the past who didn’t understand what my boats were about. I’m optimistic I’ll find the right person.”

Wake boating ban hotly debated in Town of Farmington

TOWN OF FARMINGTON, Wis. (WBAY) - There was standing room only in the town of Farmington Monday night as dozens of people came out to a public hearing to share their thoughts on a controversial wake boating ban - those boats produce larger waves than other boats.

While the measure has garnered support from some people, it has also sparked opposition, leading to legal challenges.

Public hearing attendees spoke passionately on both sides, to share if wake-enhanced boating has a place on Rainbow and Round Lakes in Waupaca County, or if the ban should stay put.

The ordinance passed in January after a public hearing, stating the use of wake-enhanced capabilities is not permitted on the two lakes.

People brought up a range of concerns for the big waves, regarding physical injuries, property damage, and more, saying wake-enhanced boating should be taken to larger bodies of water.

“The real damage was that his wife was thrown to the bottom of the boat,” said one meeting attendee. “She was writhing in pain. She spent three weeks bedridden with a back injury from which she has still not recovered.”

“The waves are so high, the kids try to go in the water, they’ve been washed over, ‘come on kids, you can’t be in the water,” said Barbara Bostrom, from Waupaca County.

Soon after the ordinance passed, a group of wake-surfing advocates took legal action against the town of Farmington. The attorney representing them says he disagrees with the legality of the ban.

“It’s an activity they’ve enjoyed for generations, recreating with their kids and grandkids, so they’re hoping for collaboration and practical solutions that are inclusive,” said attorney Anders Helquist.

Some of those opposing the ordinance say they agree there should be some restrictions, but not an outright ban.

“Skiing is a huge part of our family life, and the lakes mean a lot to us. I don’t want bad things to happen to the lakes at all ever, but we need to develop some sort of consensus,” said Marta O’Brien, from Waupaca County.

There are seventeen towns in Wisconsin that have adopted an ordinance banning wake-enhanced boating.

There was no vote Monday night, but the committee is expected to vote to either repeal reform or keep the ordinance at a later date.
