What to know before booking, largest choice of licensed yachts.

We offer luxury yacht rentals; Sailing and Motor. Our yachts are designed for your comfort and are safety inspected with equipment exceeding Transport Canada Commercial requirements.

What About Rain

We sail Rain or Shine. Rain in the city does not mean rain on the water. Our neighbourhood receives less rain than the city and it typically lasts for 20 minutes or less. Click here for weather protection and cancellation options.

Weather Toronto

Weather in Toronto changes daily. Even when rain is forecasted, it only lasts for 20+/- minutes and often doesn’t even reach our playground in the harbour. Check out our weather and other cancellation protection options

What if the weather doesn't cooperate?

The one part of sailing out of our control is the weather. Toronto has a very moderate climate and foul with sub-tropical weather during the summer; rain usually is light and is only temporary (20 minutes). Unless there is lightning in the immediate area or the wind or waves are deemed unsafe, we will be sailing (it often makes the trip more exciting).

During more severe conditions, there is always a dry place on your private yacht in the cabin and covered cockpit. In the unlikely event sailing is cancelled you will be offered a rain-check to return another day for a sailing lesson and public sail. Private Yacht Charters have the option to purchase Any Reason or Weather Insurance in advance.

Is there parking in the area?

Like anywhere in the city, parking is at a premium. We have a number of paid lots along the waterfront and have linked to the Waterfront BIA parking map so that you can spend less time finding parking and more time relaxing on your private yacht with us!

The attached link shows all of the public parking lots and parking garages at on the waterfront. When you find a parking lot near to the attraction or business you are visiting, click the “directions” button to open driving directions to the parking lot on google maps. Please also consider public transit, walking or cycling to get to Toronto’s Waterfront!

Is alcohol permitted on the boats?

Alcohol consumption is subject to Ontario Regulations that are strongly enforced by the Toronto Marine Police, OPP & RCMP. Private Yachts that are not licensed by the Alcohol & Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) are only permitted to provide BYOB service and consumption is limited to while at the dock or anchored – not while the boat is moving (most of your sail).

Great News – Our sail boats are licensed by AGCO and as such we sell both beer & wine and you are permitted to consume your beverages at all time while on your yacht charter. Our private motor yachts are subject to standard alcohol regulations above. Our sailing yachts operate the same as a bar and no outside food or alcohol is permitted on any yacht.

Each vessel carries its own licensing and different rules apply. Please see our Food and Beverage Policy .

Do you provide Catering?

We have a special yacht – designed menu prepared fresh from our galley available for private charters and shared sails. We also work with a few outside caterers which require 7 days advance notice. Our menus are available from our website by clicking here.

Please see our Food and Beverage Policy for Private Charters on each individual boat. Our sailing yachts and luxury catamaran have in house catering only while our motor yachts permit self-catering. During Shared Sails, we do not permit outside food brought on board due to the intimacy of the close quarters and potential allergies etc. We do however, provide complimentary bottled water. Snacks and Beverages are available for purchase.

We love celebrations and welcome you to bring cupcakes ONLY. Cakes are difficult to serve on a moving boat. Home baked goods are not permitted. While we don’t charge for this service, you are encouraged to show your extra appreciation to your crew accordingly.

What if I get sea-sick?

The waters on Lake Ontario are generally light with only moderate waves during the summer. Relatively few people suffer from some sort of nausea while sailing Toronto waters.

We recommend two herbal remedies that are non-medicinal, Ginger Gravol and Motion Ease. The Ginger Gravol should be taken in advance and is found at most pharmacies. There is a Shoppers Drug Mart across the road from our dock. You can hop in there before you set out on your sailing adventures with Gone Sailing Adventures. In the unlikely event that you are not feeling well on your yacht charter, our staff will do their best to make you comfortable during your sail.

If you plan on taking any anti-nausea medication – You should do so at least 45 minutes prior to boarding your private yacht. Remember regular gravol or dramamine will cause drowsiness.

Consult your medical advisor prior to taking any medications.

How should I dress for a day or evening sail?

Sailing in Toronto is an outdoor activity!

During your sailing experience you may be exposed to sun, wind and cool breezes. Be prepared and this will make your yacht charter much more enjoyable. We recommend wearing sunscreen and a hat. Additionally, we recommend having layered clothing; a base cool layer, warmer middle layer and waterproof outer layer. The temperature can be much cooler during a breeze and when the sun goes down.

To enhance your Toronto sailing experience, all of our boats are barefoot only.

Please apply sunscreen prior to boarding. Spray-on products may damage the boat finish and are not permitted on our luxury yachts.

Born Again is a one-of-a-kind Luxury Yacht , that has just been added to UD Yachts ' fleet this season. This NOVA yacht has plenty of indoor and outdoor space that can be enjoyed in any weather, making this the ideal charter vessel . The covered aft deck is the perfect spot to enjoy a beverage while taking in the views, use the BBQ  or enjoy a swim from the swimming platform.

Enter the main salon through polished stainless steel and glass sliding doors, there is a large seating area with leather sofas with seating for up to 20 guests. The starboard side has built-in maple cabinets with a beautiful cherry finish, that includes a Plasma TV and Bose stereo system. As you move forward on the port side, the dining table with built-in benches for more indoor seating is available.  Continuing outside to the upper deck, enjoy the breeze as you lounge on the comfy wrap-around benches.

The Azimut is a Luxury Yacht built for sophisticated VIP living. The main salon has a spacious indoor living area and boasts wrap-around electric sliding windows to promote airflow and maximize the view. There is plenty of dining space with an indoor table that seats eight and outdoor seating on the aft deck and the covered upper deck. And for those summer afternoons, there are built-in lounge pads on the bow perfect for catching a few rays. This yacht comfortably sleeps six people, with three bedrooms and three bathrooms.

• Pick-up location is  12 Polson St, Toronto, Ontario.  Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your boarding time.
• The booking deposit is fully refundable when the Company is informed of the cancellation by the Client more than 10 days prior to the charter. otherwisem 40% deposit is not refundable. Cancellations due to weather have an option for credit of equal value; to be used for any UD Yachts services within the 2022 season. The customer has the option to reschedule for dates available via the booking platform www.udyachts.com. Transfer of the Credit is permitted with written approval. ( conditions apply )
• No pets for a group of more than six people
• Fuel is included (for day charters for idle/trolling speed around local areas).
• The guests supply food and alcohol.
• capacity limit is twenty persons.
• BBQ:  The use of the BBQ is available supervised by one of our crew for a $200 fee while Anchored or Docked.  Please speak to our reservation team for more details.  
• If you are paying by credit card, you must be the credit card owner, and you will need to present the physical card with a photo ID on the day of the charter.
• All vessels come with life jackets and emergency and first aid kits. If you have known allergies or medical requirements, please bring spare medication in the event of an emergency
• Shoes are not permitted inside the sitting and eating area (indoors)
• The capacity limit is non-negotiable; please do not bring extra guests
• We have a Zero Tolerance policy for illegal substances.

Guests can bring their own food and beverages for the charter. If you wish to have food prepared and delivered to the yacht, please inform us in advance and we would be happy to coordinate catering. We can even arrange for a chef to come aboard to prepare a meal during the charter.

Depending on the length of the tour, we like to cross the harbor and take a leisurely cruise through the picturesque channels of the Toronto Islands. From there we leave the harbor, head towards Ontario Place and out into Lake Ontario. As we re-enter the harbor, you will enjoy unique views of the city skyline. If the seas are too rough, we will not subject our guest to the swells, and we’ll stay in the sheltered harbor (where there is still plenty to explore). While onboard, please consult with us  for the best options.

The superyacht world is speculating that Mark Zuckerberg just bought this 118-meter boat

In the world of superyachts , privacy is the most valuable asset. It can be next to impossible to discern the details of a superyacht transaction — and that's particularly true if the vessel in question is worth nine figures.

Yet some in the boat blogging world are speculating that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is the new owner of Launchpad, a megayacht currently moored in Fort Lauderdale, Florida after she made her maiden voyage from Gibraltar to St Maarten last week. Launchpad clocks in at 118 meters long, about nine meters shorter than Jeff Bezos' superyacht Koru .

The transaction could not be confirmed, with yacht world insiders declining to share what they know and representatives for Zuckerberg not responding to a request for comment from Business Insider. In the past, reports about Zuckerberg owning superyacht Ulysses have proven false.

"It is Feadship's standard policy to never divulge any information about our yachts with reference to ownership, costs, or delivery, etc," Feadship, the ship's builder, wrote to BI. "Whether it is an 18-meter Feadship from the 1960s or a 118-meter Feadship from the 21st century, we do not share private information."

But Zuckerberg's name has been connected to Launchpad for a few months now, beginning in December when reports swirled that he visited Feadship's shipyard in the Netherlands.

Then, earlier in March, yachting bloggers like eSysman SuperYachts and Autoevolution started speculating that he officially snagged the boat, originally built for a sanctioned Russian businessman, at a $300 million price tag. (While that's a seemingly huge amount, it's still less than 0.2% of Zuckerberg's $177 billion net worth.)

Another clue that might point to US ownership is that the yacht bears the flag of the Marshall Islands, a US territory and commonplace for American buyers to register their ships, according to public marine tracking.

If Zuckerberg were to have bought Launchpad, he would join a cohort of superyacht-owning tech billionaires . Along with Bezos, the likes of Oracle cofounder Larry Ellison and Google cofounders Sergey Brin and Larry Page have purchased impressive boats with even more impressive amenities.

SuperYacht Times , an industry publication and intelligence platform, has some of the best images of the yacht. Photos show a swimming pool on her main deck and a large helipad.

While less is known of the interior, a vessel of her size can likely sleep dozens of guests and crew and may have amenities like an expansive gym where Zuckerberg could practice his jiu-jitsu or a spa with a massage area. We suspect there's also space for plenty of toys — which could include his viral hydrofoil foil .

Rowing club boats capsize off Connecticut, all 19 people who plunged into the water are safe

WESTPORT, Conn. (AP) — Rowing club boats capsized during a fast change in weather off Connecticut on Wednesday, sending 18 teenagers and one adult coach into the cold waters of Long Island Sound, police and fire officials said. Two people were brought to a hospital with suspected hypothermia.

First responders said they came upon a chaotic scene off the coast of Westport shortly after 5 p.m., as some of the people in the water were swimming to shore and others were trying to get into other boats. Police and firefighters from Westport and nearby towns responded, as did the Coast Guard.

Two sculling boats with the private Saugatuck Rowing Club capsized as the water became rough during a weather change, sending 18 people into waters off Compo Beach, Westport Police Chief Foti Koskinas said at an evening news conference. The people in the water tried to get on a third, larger boat, causing it to sink and sending one more person into the water, police said.

First responders used boats to rescue many of the people, while others were able to swim ashore.

“This was a very serious incident with an incredibly good outcome,” Koskinas said.

The teens, all male, ranged in age from 14 to 18. Everyone was out of the water and safe within about 50 minutes, Koskinas said. The water temperature in Long Island Sound was about 44 degrees, he said.

The teens were put on a school bus to get warm and were picked up by their parents, he said.

Authorities said they were investigating why the boats capsized, with the goal of preventing similar incidents.
