Monaco Yacht Club: An Exclusive Oasis For Marine Lovers

10 stories about the districts of Monaco

Looking down on the Yacht Club from Monaco’s exclusive seawater Spa, “ Thermes Marins ”, the new club-house really is a magnificent icon of multi-decked architecture – inaugurated in 2014 and designed by internationally renowned architect Lord Norman Foster.

Only in the Principality’s marina could you confuse this giant structure for the yachts around it that it resembles – a yacht mirage with a gorgeous deck with luxurious swimming pool and terraces for dancing. Splendid enough for meetings of the most discerning yacht enthusiasts, including the glitterati and “Three Comma” billionaires that frequent it.

Yachts Beyond the Reach of Mere Mortals

Some of the largest and most expensive yachts in the world dock here to take in the city’s pleasures, particularly during the iconic Monaco Yacht Show. You can wander around marvelling at all of the gadgets designers can inlay on these boats like the 348-foot-long AMADEA one of the largest and most distinctive superyachts in the world with its six distinctive guest decks. Or perhaps gaze at the 365-foot-long TIS, one of the largest and most regal yachts to be launched this year.

These superyachts, like the Yacht Club itself are like private islands and wouldn’t look out of place in a James Bond movie. If billionaires Bernard Arnault or Larry Page or Larry Ellison come calling, Monaco Yacht Club sets the stage perfectly.

Home of the Grimaldi Dynasty

For over 600 years from the 12th century onwards, the Grimaldi stronghold at Port Hercule, including where the Yacht Club now preens itself, was one of the prized naval assets on the Mediterranean. Its strategic location served more than once to change the course of history.

It was around the time of the reign of Charles III of Monaco that the Principality’s reputation as an international haven of luxury and wealth took off. And Charles III had the vision to encourage the development of Monaco as a magnet for international regattas of renown to which the world flocked.

Historic Regatta Heaven

The first of these regattas were held in the bay of Monaco in 1862, so successful that in 1888 the “Société des Régates” was established by Prince Charles III and his son Prince Albert I , affectionately known as the “Oceanographer Prince”.

Almost a century of famous regattas preceded the founding in 1953 by Prince Rainier and presided over by Prince Albert II since 1984, the Yacht Club de Monaco. The Club brings together more than 2000 members from 66 nationalities. Many of the world’s most prestigious private yachts fly the Yacht Club de Monaco’s burgee, testimony to its unique position in the International yachting world.

Prince Albert’s Presidency

In April 1984, with Prince Albert’s Presidency, he developed new international events such as the Primo Cup, the biggest gathering of monotype yachts in the Mediterranean Sea. Prince Albert also put emphasis on classic Yachting with the organization from 1994 of the Monaco Classic Week for vintage and classic yachts, the Prada Challenge for Classic Yachts.

Notably, it was the first visit of Atlantic 2010 (replica of the 1903 three-mast schooner on which Charlie Barr in 1905 set the best time for an Atlantic crossing) to the Principality. Another icon, the SS Delphine (1921) steam-boat made a welcome return. It was aboard this beauty that three world leaders, Stalin, Roosevelt and Churchill, negotiated at least part of the 1945 Yalta Agreement.

Yacht Seasons are typically opened with ultra-private concerts at YCM with celebrities like Sir Elton John in 2016, Duran Duran in 2017, and Sting last year. It was yet another global star Lionel Richie singing “All Night Long” this September who delighted the many boat owners and YCM members. “All Night Long” was attended by YCM President, Prince Albert II and a host of international personalities including actor-producer Samuel L. Jackson, basketball legend Magic Johnson, Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba and fashion designer Domenico Dolce, one of the two behind the eponymous brand D&G.

Regatta and Sports Heaven with a Golden Future

The Monaco Yacht Club from its beginnings embraced and has nurtured a prestige Regatta program that has accelerated and taken on new dimensions under Prince Albert’s Presidency.

It is worth mentioning the Primo Cup again as it has quickly established itself as the big meeting that opens the season in the Mediterranean for Europe’s one-design elite. Just a few other examples of stand-out Regattas enjoyed by YCMmembers include:

Monaco Swan One Design,  (9th-13th April 2019) organized in conjunction with the Yacht Club de Monaco,  was the first event in the 2019 Nations Trophy Mediterranean League.

Monaco Globe Week with the IMOCA 60  – 60-foot monohulls being among the fastest modern racing monohulls have raced on a course totalling 1,300 nautical miles embracing some of the most emblematic marks in the Western Mediterranean.

Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series  offers a monthly programme alternating high level regattas and training weekends for onedesigns.

As well as the Primo Cup another innovation worth a double mention here is  Monaco Classic Week. Persuaded that the reading of the past holds keys for the future Prince Albert fostered the creation and coordination during five years of a unique circuit for vintage and classic yachts, the Prada Challenge for Classic Yachts, without forgetting the acquisition of Tuiga in 1995, since becoming the flagship of the YCM. More recently the wave continued with the launching in 2005 of the “La Belle Classe” label.

The whole yachting world continues to look to Monaco to organize its most prestigious events. Within the last 12 months, 200 guests from the America’s Cup community from around the world gathered at the Yacht Club de Monaco to celebrate the launch of  the Prada Cup – the Challenger Selection Series for the 36th America’s Cup  to be presented by Prada in January 2021 in Auckland – deemed as “ the quest for oldest trophy in sport ”, the America’s Cup. Not to forget  World Rowing with the  Prince Albert II Challenge , a 6000m coastal race organised by the Societe Nautique de Monaco.

The Enthusiasm and Promise of Monaco’s Youth at YCM

Looking to the future is the Monaco Sports Academy which provides support to gifted young Monaco sailors and sportsmen taking on the world. The Academy is a close collaboration between the Yacht Club de Monaco, presided by Prince Albert and its General Secretary Bernard d’Alessandri, and Philippe Ghanem who is an active member of the Club. They share a common goal: to help young athletes living in Monaco reach the highest level in sport.

Also founded in 1970 by Prince Rainier III, the Sports Section of Y.C.M. adapts training to youngsters from as young as age six from initiation to competition and at every age.

Look out for the Monaco Optimist Team Race from 9-12 January 2020. The regatta is reserved for 20 teams of young sailors, all under 14. YCM invites the most competitive clubs with emphasis on tactics and above all team-work.

Full of youthful energy and promise is  the Monaco Solar & Energy Boat Challenge  next held on 30 June-4 July 2020. The Yacht Club de Monaco, in collaboration with the International Powerboating Federation (UIM) and Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation organises the Solar & Energy Boat Challenge which is unique in the world.

How to become a new member of the Yacht Club

Anyone wishing to become a member of the Yacht Club de Monaco needs to be introduced by two “sponsors” from YCM. The sponsor’s letter of introduction will explain the applicant’s motives for joining the Club. Prince Albert, President of the Yacht Club, presides over the meetings of the admissions’ committee. The role of the sponsor is essential. The latter, must integrate him into the life of the Yacht Club, accompany him, present him to the other members but also involve him in organized events, whether they be social or sports.

The sponsor also undertakes to ensure that his “protégé” embraces the YCM’s philosophy and values, will actively engage in the Club’s life and keep its reputation at the pinnacle.

A Regal Club and Natural Host of Prestigious Events

The Yacht club reaches well beyond being a club for owners of yachts and superyachts. It is actually an immense infrastructure akin to a multi-tiered island that organises not only events connected to the yachts and regattas but also all kind of sports and social events, dances and entertainment. High society balls, conferences, exclusive business gatherings and prestigious auctions are just part of the kaleidoscope of activity.

The members of the club and their guests have at their disposition restaurants with Michelin Star chefs (including the exclusive 1909) gyms and a library – and a spa-zone, not to mention the gorgeous pool and terraces overlooking the azure bay. There is a truly great bar, a hive of social contact, with an international reputation and winner of awards for its unique cocktails and the skills of its bar staff. Endless discovery is to be found in each private niche of this island-club.

Inauguration of the new YCM building

At 43°44’15’’ N and 7°25’40’’ E, this hi-tech building which looks like a liner docked on Quai Louis II is home to two of the Principality’s historic clubs: the Société Nautique (rowing club) and the Yacht Club, a meeting point for owners and focus of international yachting activities. Alongside Lord Foster and Monegasque architect Alexandre Giraldi, Jacques Grange and Nelson Wilmotte have put their talents to the service of the new building’s interior and exterior layout and design.

“ Allow me to express a very sincere wish that the Yacht Club de Monaco fulfil its mission as a link between people who love the sea, that it serves the interests ”

— Prince Rainier III

To be a member of the Yacht Club de Monaco is above all a commitment. It is a desire to preserve a certain ethic, both on land and on the water, and to foster a respect for naval etiquette and preservation of the environment. The Yacht Club de Monaco’s philosophy is based on the need to perpetuate but also to pass on a heritage, inherited from our ancestors, to ensure that the Yacht Club remains a lively and progressive place.

The Yacht Club of Monaco: a prestigious club

The Yacht Club of Monaco is a world-renowned institution located on the French Riviera, in the heart of the Principality of Monaco. Founded in 1953 by Prince Rainier III, it now has more than 2,500 members from more than 81 countries. The club is best known for its commitment to sailing, its fleet of luxury yachts and its large-scale events.

An iconic building designed by Norman Foster

The architecture of the Yacht Club of Monaco is remarkable. Designed by British architect Norman Foster, it was inaugurated in 2014. The building, 22 meters high, 204 meters long, with 5,000 m² of interior space and 4,000 m² of terraces, is reminiscent of the transatlantic liners of the last century. It is located along the Quai Louis-II, at Port Hercule, and offers breathtaking views of the sea and the Rocher of Monaco. The building was built in compliance with HQE (high environmental quality) standards, limiting the environmental impact during construction and throughout the life of the structure. It is home to two of the Principality's most prestigious institutions: the Nautical Society and the Yacht Club of Monaco.

Elegant interior design

The interior of the Yacht Club of Monaco is just as remarkable as its exterior architecture. The interior spaces were decorated by renowned French decorator Jacques Grange. The club's rooms and terraces look like ship's decks, all made of European oak by local carpenters. The warm tones of wood are found in the interior spaces, creating an atmosphere of both tradition and modernity. The most prestigious areas of the club house – lounges, private areas and guest rooms – are furnished by Fendi Casa. The palette is made of soft pastels and shades of nature, from leather to sand to ivory.

A fleet of luxury yachts

A quarter of the world's 100 largest yachts fly the club's banner, which shows its prestige and fame. The club hosts large-scale sailing events, such as the Rolex Cup, the Monaco Classic Week (a unique gathering in the world of classic sailing and motor yachts, motor boats and 12' dinghies) and the Monaco Yacht Show, an annual international show dedicated to yachting that is held every year at the end of September in the enclosure of the Port Hercule of Monaco. The event, established in 1991, features an exhibition of exceptional yachts afloat as well as exhibition stands on the docks. It is now an iconic event popular with visitors who come to discover an incredible concentration of yachts available for purchase or charter.

Dining and relaxation at the Yacht Club of Monaco

The Yacht Club of Monaco offers its members a wide choice of quality activities and services, for an unforgettable experience. In addition to water activities, the Club also has facilities for dining and relaxing.

The Restaurant 1909, located on the terrace of the Club, offers refined and elegant cuisine. Executive Chef Renato Secchi and his team concoct tasty dishes, based on fresh and local products, to offer an unforgettable culinary experience. The terrace offers stunning views of the marina, for a romantic dinner or a sunny lunch.

The Sunrise, with its 180° panoramic terrace overlooking Port Hercule and the bay, is the ideal place to enjoy a buffet of appetizers and desserts, as well as a dish of the day, during summer lunches. The idyllic setting and tasty cuisine make it a popular place for members.

The Yacht Club de Monaco also has a wellness area to relax. Members can also enjoy the pool and gym equipped with modern machinery to keep fit.

Become a member of the Yacht Club de Monaco: the application and sponsorship process

The Yacht Club of Monaco is a very selective club, reserved for a high-end clientele passionate about sailing and the nautical world. To become a member of the club, it is mandatory to follow a rigorous application and sponsorship process. All candidates must be presented by two sponsors, members of the YCM for more than one year. Once the application file has been completed and signed by the candidate and his two sponsors, it is examined by an admission committee chaired by H.S.H. Prince Albert II, president of the club. If the application is accepted, the official induction of the new member is done at a cocktail party in the presence of all members of the club. The sponsor plays a vital role in the admissions process as they are responsible for the new member they introduce. He must integrate him into the life of the club, introduce him to other members, involve him in the various activities, but also ensure that he adheres to the philosophy and values of the YCM. Only one application per sponsor may be proposed per session, and the Admissions Committee reserves the right to refuse it without notification.

In conclusion, the Yacht Club of Monaco is a world-renowned institution, a true emblem of the Principality. The Club offers a wide range of activities for all ages, from sailing lessons for children to high-level regattas for seasoned competitors. It also offers a unique setting for relaxing, entertaining and dining, with top quality facilities and stunning views of the Bay of Monaco. High court revives lawsuit calling NYC property taxes unconstitutional

Monaco Yacht Club buyers sue, alleging false advertising of luxury condo project

Buyers allege the building’s amenities were not as promised, including a marina that doesn’t fit yachts

UPDATED, March 9, 10:30 a.m.

A couple who purchased a unit at Monaco Yacht Club in Miami Beach is accusing the developer of false and misleading advertising of the waterfront luxury condo development, including that the now-completed project’s marina allegedly doesn’t even fit yachts.

Adam Rose and his husband, Peter McQuillan, sued 6800 Indian Creek LLC in Miami-Dade Circuit Court late last year. The company is an affiliate of Optimum Asset Management, previously led by Ricardo Tabet.

Optimum completed the 11-story, 39-unit building at 6800 Indian Creek Drive in North Beach last year, more than four years after launching presales. It was designed by Arquitectonica with interiors by Italian designer Piero Lissoni. The building is one of a handful Optimum has developed in Miami-Dade County.

Rose, a New York-based developer who ran Rose Associates until he retired in 2019, and his husband alleged that the design they were promised — and which was presented in the marketing materials for Monaco Yacht Club — is not what they received. Rose and McQuillan have not closed on the unit, records show. They are seeking their $1.6 million deposit back, plus interest and fees, according to the suit.

Rose and McQuillan allege they would not have entered into a contract to buy a unit at the condo project had they known how it would turn out once completed.

Rose and his attorney, Richard Segal of Miami-based Segal Zuckerman, declined to comment.

Matthew Barry, manager of the entity that developed the building, said in a statement  that “the complaint has no basis.” A motion to approve an evidentiary hearing is set for later this month.

Rose and McQuillan entered into a contract to buy a unit on the 10th floor for $4 million in August 2020, according to the complaint.

The developer financed construction of the building with a $55 million loan from Och-Ziff Capital Management Group in early 2019. Soon after, Optimum launched presales.

To promote sales, the developer branded the project as the “crème de [la] crème,” and the “soul of the Cote D’Azur” with the “essence of contemporary coastal chic,” according to the complaint.

Instead, the couple alleges that the building’s amenities and features are “way less lavish and of a far inferior quality” once completed.

The pool deck depicted in renderings and preconstruction marketing materials is in reality “drastically different” than the actual pool area, including the quality, lack of setbacks, and reduced usable surface and seating area, the complaint alleges.

As built, the marina has “very small docks meant to service jet skis, paddle boarding, kayaking and smaller ski boats.” But the marina that the developer advertised is supposed to accommodate large boats and yachts, according to the complaint.

As for the lobby and gym, Rose and McQuillan allege they were delivered “minimally decorated” and “cheap and tawdry” spaces.

Fortune Development Sales led sales and marketing of the project. Danny Hertzberg of The Jills Zeder Group at Coldwell Banker represented Rose and McQuillan, according to a copy of the contract, which was included in the court filings.

In November, before the couple filed their lawsuit, they demanded their deposit back, alleging that the developer had failed to obtain its certificate of occupancy and failed to provide a closing date “despite over a year of continued promises” that the closing was imminent. The developer refused to cancel the buyers’ purchase agreement and refund the deposit by mid-November, according to the complaint.

Thirty five closings have been recorded since June, according to property records. Buyers include beauty mogul Marc Capri , co-founder of Sol de Janeiro, maker of Brazilian Bum Bum Body Cream.

The developer denied Rose and McQuillan’s claims in the mid-November letter. An attorney for the developer at the time wrote that the firm built the project and the units according to the terms of the agreement. The developer had the right “to make changes in plans and specifications … as is customary in connection with the sale of newly constructed condominium projects,” the letter states.

Optimum’s other projects include the former Celino South Beach hotel complex, which it sold to a CGI Hospitality Fund that included retired Yankees player Alex Rodriguez, in August 2021. Optimum acquired the Ocean Drive property, which included the former Park Central, the Imperial Hotel, Heathcote Apartments and then-vacant land in 2013 for $51 million. The firm then embarked on a multi-year, multimillion-dollar renovation and expansion of the hotel.

Optimum also built a five-story, 65,000-square-foot office building 3480 Main Highway, with restaurants on the ground floor and rooftop, including the Lebanese restaurant Amal Miami.

Tabet, who was a co-founder and CEO of Optimum Development USA, is now president and CEO of Miami Beach-based Synergy 8 Capital, according to his LinkedIn.

Monaco Yacht Club & Residences

Miami beach, miami, 6800 indian creek dr, miami beach, fl 33141, usa.

A collaboration between Miami-based architecture firm Arquitectonica and Italian superstar-designer Piero Lissoni, this boutique condominium development is a melding of American and European influences, a slice of the Cote d’Azur on a serene stretch of Miami Beach, complete with a private marina. Arquitectonica is known for its use of color and texture, but here, the design is more understated. Floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive wavelike terraces accentuate the views of Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Interiors are similarly streamlined, with a pared-back palette, lofty ceilings, and open-plan layouts that celebrate light and space.

About monaco yacht club & residences.

  • Architecture

Founded in 1977 as an experimental design studio by Bernardo Fort-Brescia and Laurinda Spear, Arquitectonica is responsible for bringing modern architecture to Miami. The firm’s pop-art-influenced style and innovative use of glass, steel, color, and texture put Miami on the map. For Monaco Yacht Club & Residences, the firm created a 12-story glass-encased tower that rises from a double-height lobby and culminates in a rooftop sundeck with terraces that seem to undulate like the sea.

Miami Beach is sometimes considered interchangeable with South Beach, known for its art-deco architecture, nonstop nightlife, and sugar-sand beaches—but, while South Beach is part of Miami Beach, it’s not all of Miami Beach. Technically an island city connected to Downtown Miami by a series of bridges, Miami Beach stretches nearly 10 miles from South Pointe Park at the southern tip to the northernmost barrier island of Bal Harbour, the Rodeo Drive of South Florida. In between, micro-neighborhoods run the gamut from lively and eclectic to quiet and upscale.

Monaco Yacht Club is in North Beach, also known as NoBe, which stretches from 63rd Street to 87th Street. Here, the hotels are more resort-like, the pristine beaches are less crowded, and the vibe is more peaceful than party-all-night. The area is home to several parks (including the dog-friendly Bark Park and the 22-acre Enchanted Forest) and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA).

Italian architect and designer Piero Lissoni is a heavyweight in the world of design, and he brings his considerable experience and minimalist style to this project. Each of the 39 residences, which range in size from one bedroom to four bedrooms, including two penthouses, has an airy, open-plan feel, with floor-to-ceiling windows and private terraces that blur the line between inside and out. Finishes and fixtures are carefully curated, with wide-plank wood floors, Corian stone counters, Boffi cabinets, and Miele fixtures in the kitchens and marble-clad bathrooms with Milltek bathtubs. The overall effect is simple but refined.

Monaco Yacht Club & Residences is located on one of the few remaining waterfront lots in Miami Beach, and it takes full advantage with a private marina with 12 slips that can accommodate yachts up to 55 feet in length and a yachting concierge that can arrange charters and expeditions as well as other water activities. The condominium development also has a rooftop terrace with a pool, Jacuzzi, and sun deck, a nautically-themed residence lounge, and a fitness center overlooking Biscayne Bay.

Berth Description

The PORT HERCULE is the main port of the Principality of Monaco and its heart. It is probably one of the most famous ports in the world, embodying with excellence glamour and luxury, welcoming boats, yachts and of course, the most magnificent Superyachts and Megayachts.

The PORT HERCULE offers all services and facilities for yachtsmen who can find here all commercial and leisure activities. It covers 16 hectares of protected waters. The PORT HERCULE is also the most famous amphitheatre of yachting in the world because of the events it welcomes every year, such as the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Monaco or the Monaco Yacht Show.

The PORT HERCULE is a natural harbour located at the foot of the ancestral rock of the Princes of Monaco. It is one of the few ports of the Cote d’Azur in deep waters and is managed by the Societe d’Exploitation des Ports de Monaco (SEPM). It can accommodate large size and tonnage vessels and cruise ships (up to 300 meters long). It has 700 berths (110 for yachts over 24 m), of which 30 are for visitors depending on availability.

Already used as a commercial port by the Greeks and the Romans (and named in ancient times “Portus Herculis Monoeci”), it was amply enlarged, protected and renovated, in the 70s, with colossal semi-floating jetties to preserve the flora and fauna, by HSH Prince Rainier III. HSH Prince Albert II, then continued the works begun by his father, reorganizing the water plan and constructing the brand new Monaco Yacht Club, to make PORT HERCULE, the most modern and practicable of the Western Mediterranean for large yachting.

Berths in this world yachting hub are much demanded and requests are very numerous. It is extremely difficult to rent a berth, even for a short time because the Ports of Monaco give priority to requests from Monegasque residents (long waiting list).

For the first time Rosatom Fuel Division supplied fresh nuclear fuel to the world’s only floating nuclear cogeneration plant in the Arctic

The fuel was supplied to the northernmost town of Russia along the Northern Sea Route.

The first in the history of the power plant refueling, that is, the replacement of spent nuclear fuel with fresh one, is planned to begin before 2024. The manufacturer of nuclear fuel for all Russian nuclear icebreakers, as well as the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, is Machinery Manufacturing Plant, Joint-Stock Company (MSZ JSC), a company of Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL that is based in Elektrostal, Moscow Region.

The FNPP includes two KLT-40S reactors of the icebreaking type. Unlike convenient ground-based large reactors (that require partial replacement of fuel rods once every 12-18 months), in the case of these reactors, the refueling takes place once every few years and includes unloading of the entire reactor core and loading of fresh fuel into the reactor.

The cores of KLT-40 reactors of the Akademik Lomonosov floating power unit have a number of advantages compared to the reference ones: a cassette core was used for the first time in the history of the unit, which made it possible to increase the fuel energy resource to 3-3.5 years between refuelings, and also reduce the fuel component of the electricity cost by one and a half times. The FNPP operating experience formed the basis for the designs of reactors for nuclear icebreakers of the newest series 22220. Three such icebreakers have been launched by now.

For the first time the power units of the Akademik Lomonosov floating nuclear power plant were connected to the grid in December 2019, and put into commercial operation in May 2020. The supply of nuclear fuel from Elektrostal to Pevek and its loading into the second reactor is planned for 2024. The total power of the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, supplied to the coastal grid of Pevek without thermal energy consumption on shore, is about 76 MW, being about 44 MW in the maximum thermal power supply mode. The FNPP generated 194 million kWh according to the results of 2023. The population of Pevek is just a little more than 4 thousand, while the FNPP has a potential for supplying electricity to a city with a population of up to 100 thousand people. After the FNPP commissioning two goals were achieved. These include first of all the replacement of the retiring capacities of the Bilibino NPP, which has been operating since 1974, as well as the Chaunskaya TPP, which has already been operating for more than 70 years. Secondly, energy is supplied to the main mining companies in western Chukotka in the Chaun-Bilibino energy hub a large ore and metal cluster, including gold mining companies and projects related to the development of the Baimsk ore zone. In September 2023, a 110 kilovolt power transmission line with a length of 490 kilometers was put into operation, connecting the towns of Pevek and Bilibino. The line increased the reliability of energy supply from the FNPP to both Bilibino consumers and mining companies, the largest of which is the Baimsky GOK. The comprehensive development of the Russian Arctic is a national strategic priority. To increase the NSR traffic is of paramount importance for accomplishment of the tasks set in the field of cargo shipping. This logistics corridor is being developed due regular freight voyages, construction of new nuclear-powered icebreakers and modernization of the relevant infrastructure. Rosatom companies are actively involved in this work. Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL (Rosatom Fuel Division) includes companies fabricating nuclear fuel, converting and enriching uranium, manufacturing gas centrifuges, conducting researches and producing designs. As the only nuclear fuel supplier to Russian NPPs, TVEL supplies fuel for a total of 75 power reactors in 15 countries, for research reactors in nine countries, as well as for propulsion reactors of the Russian nuclear fleet. Every sixth power reactor in the world runs on TVEL fuel. Rosatom Fuel Division is the world’s largest producer of enriched uranium and the leader on the global stable isotope market. The Fuel Division is actively developing new businesses in chemistry, metallurgy, energy storage technologies, 3D printing, digital products, and decommissioning of nuclear facilities. TVEL also includes Rosatom integrators for additive technologies and electricity storage systems. Rosenergoatom, Joint-Stock Company is part of Rosatom Electric Power Division and one of the largest companies in the industry acting as an operator of nuclear power plants. It includes, as its branches, 11 operating NPPs, including the FNPP, the Scientific and Technical Center for Emergency Operations at NPPs, Design and Engineering as well as Technological companies. In total, 37 power units with a total installed capacity of over 29.5 GW are in operation at 11 nuclear power plants in Russia. Machinery Manufacturing Plant, Joint-Stock Company (MSZ JSC, Elektrostal) is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of fuel for nuclear power plants. The company produces fuel assemblies for VVER-440, VVER-1000, RBMK-1000, BN-600,800, VK-50, EGP-6; powders and fuel pellets intended for supply to foreign customers. It also produces nuclear fuel for research reactors. The plant belongs to the TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom.
