This elegant semi-raised yacht accommodates 6 guests in thee spacious and luxuriously appointed ensuite cabins. She has a swim platform aft, a comfortable cockpit lounging and dining area, a bimini for shade even while sailing, and all new teak decks and upholstery. Onyx also has a variety of water toys for your enjoyment, including two Seabob F5 models and three Blacken paddle boards with kayak options.

Onyx II Description

ONYX is a 30m sleek semi-raised Swan 100 S, designed by German Frers. Beautifully appointed and in immaculate condition, ONYX is available for charters in the Western Mediterranean in Summer 2023. Launched in 2005, the yacht completed an extensive refit in Mallorca in 2021. Works included repainting the hull grey, new teak decks, a reconfigured cockpit dining/lounging, installing a bar in the saloon and all new interior and exterior upholstery and soft furnishings. ONYX also comes equipped with a 16.10m Windy SR52 Blackbird Chase tender which opens up endless possibilities for guests who would like to be independent of the main yacht. They can visit restaurants and sites further afield, have day trips easily moving between yacht, beaches and islands, and also travel to and from shore in comfort even in choppy conditions. Sam Forbes, Captain Sailing runs in the blood in Sam’s family. His father was an award-winning skipper in round the world races and the Sydney Hobart Yacht Race. Growing up in England it’s his dad who taught him to sail at a young age and introduced him to the world of yachting. He started out with superyacht racing onboard 60m Perini Navi SEAHAWK, and 44.7m Vitters NINGALOO. From there he stepped into roles on spectacular J Class Yachts 39m Endeavour and 43.4m Lionheart where he worked on cruising programs, refits, deliveries, and racing preparations. Sam took on some freelance positions with smaller carbon yachts and worked as first mate onboard 34m Baltic NILAYA before he took the opportunity to be captain of ONYX. The Pacific Ocean is his favourite destination, but he loves any location that’s secluded with blue water. On ONYX he enjoys the sleek design and ‘old school’ style of sailing that incorporates modern technology but still takes a hands-on approach with minimal use of hydraulic furlers. Emma Carmichael, Stewardess Emma hails from Falmouth Cornwall in the UK. She studied law at university for 4 years before changing her path to yachting, allowing her to earn an income while exploring different parts of the world. Over the past several years she’s created exceptional experiences for her guests aboard successful motor and sailing yachts, both charter and private, including 65m MY SHEMARA, 47m SY AQUARIUS, and 34m SY NILYAYA. Now Emma is keeping guests happy on ONYX, where she brings her experience and high standard of service to everything she does. West Coast Mallorca and Croatia are two of her favourite corners of the world, and she enjoys hiking and swimming. Stephen Bannon, Engineer Born in Melbourne Australia, Stephen completed an electrical apprenticeship and then moved to Europe to travel. He spent a decade working as an electrician in the UK before moving to Barcelona where he became a superyacht engineer. Since then he’s cruised the world and kept systems up and running on a long list of sailing yachts including 3 in the J Class fleet: Rainbow, Endeavour, and Hanuman. Stephen’s ultimate destination is Nuku Hiva in the Marquesas Islands, and in his spare time he enjoys swimming and keeping fit. Jess Ellis, Chef Jess grew up in Knysna, South Africa, and it’s her mother’s love of sailing the first drew her to the yachting industry. She started out as a stewardess on sailing yachts but always had her sights set on the galley. Her love of food and nutrition pushed her to make the leap to a cooking role in 2020, and she joined ONYX as chef in 2022. Her focus is on providing healthy and beautifully presented meals, with an emphasis on fresh locally sourced ingredients. Jess’s food is prepared with love, always combining enticing colours and textures with delicious tastes. She especially enjoys building luxurious salads and putting decadent lunch platters together for guests to enjoy. Jess also loves sailing, is a PADI Divemaster, and a keen hiker.

ONYX II currently registered in Malta is actively available for charter in several cruising destinations.

The luxury sailing yacht ONYX II, previously named ONYX, was built by Nautor's Swan and delivered to her owner in 2005, she later underwent a refit in 2021.

The exterior of ONYX II is designed by German Frers.

The 99ft / 30.2m ONYX II has been constructed with a steel hull and is powered by Perkins Saber M265Ti 6-cylinder diesel (265 hp  2500 rpm) with a cruising speed of 9 knots and a top speed of 10 knots.

Charter guest accommodation

ONYX II has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 6 charter guests in 3 suites.

The guest cabins comprise a cabin with a twin bed and en-suite bathroom facilities, a cabin with 2 twin beds and en-suite bathroom facilities and a primary suite with a king size bed and en-suite bathroom facilities located aft.

Your luxury charter on board sailing yacht ONYX II will be managed by the crew of 4 including the captain.

The crew will ensure you have a relaxed and enjoyable charter experience with all of your needs catered for while on board.

The 4 crew have their own separate crew quarters located forward allowing guests to enjoy increased levels of privacy.

ONYX is a Swan 100 S Sailing Yacht which was built in 2005 and had an extensive refit in 2021. She is the ideal yacht for serious sailors who want to add luxury to their vacation. With the exterior design from German Frers and interior from Nauta Yachts, she offers competitive sailing prestations while having a warm, cosy feeling on the inside.

She is equipped with a new teak deck, a bar area in the saloon and all new interior and exterior upholstery.  The reconfigured cockpit includes one central table which is surrounded by a fabulous seating area creates the perfect setting for romantic outdoor diners. 

The central stairwell leads from the deck down into the salon. Due to the semi-raised configuration, the salon receives a lot of natural light from the wide windows on both sides of the ship. On portside, a comfortable couch with coffee table is placed while on the starboardside, a dining table can be found which can easily accommodate all guests. The interior is furnished with warm wood panels which creates a homey feeling.

ONYX sleeps up to 6 guests in 3 beautiful en-suite cabins, consisting of 1 full beam master cabin and 2 twin cabins. Additionaly, there is a possibility to accommodate 2 children under the age of 12. 

Her sleek design and her great sailing performance makes ONYX a one of a kind yacht. The crew of 4 will make sure that you will have a time to remember and create everlasting memories at sea.

30m Swan sloop Onyx II for sale

The 30.2-metre performance cruising sailing yacht Onyx II is newly listed for sale with Klaes Nylof of Nautor Swan Brokerage .

Built in Finland by Nautor Swan in 2005 to Germán Frers designs, the GRP sloop underwent a major rebuild in 2021/2022 at Baltic Yachts' facility in Mallorca. This refit included new teak decks, a full hull repainting, new sails, hatches, machinery and more.

Onyx II was commissioned by an experienced yachtsman and is a development of the Swan 100 Raised Saloon and Flush Deck models. She is the first to feature the Semi-Raised Saloon configuration, incorporating a sleek, low-level coach roof.

Accommodation comprises a full-beam master cabin aft and three further guest cabins. The saloon has a dining table for eight to starboard, complemented by a comfortable sofa with coffee table.

On deck, the guest cockpit area is positioned midships and offers ergonomic seating and a dining table that converts to a sunpad. The aft deck of the 91GT sailing yacht for sale is where most of the action takes place, with twin helms and sail controls to hand.

Lying in Palma, Mallorca, Onyx II is asking €7,500,000 with VAT paid.

Built in 1988, Wind of Change offers guest accommodation for up to 6 guests in 3 suites comprising a master suite, one VIP cabin and one twin cabin. There are 4 beds in total, including 2 doubles and 2 singles. She is also capable of carrying up to 4 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

Whatever your activities on your charter, you'll find some impressive features are seamlessly integrated to help you, particularly Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing you to stay connected at all times, should you wish. Guests will experience complete comfort while chartering thanks to air conditioning.

Protecting your investment in your yacht is a necessary part of owning a luxury vessel.  Harsh saltwater conditions require a regular painting and coating treatment to keep your boat sailing on clear waters.

Painting/Maintenance options for your vessel include:

Prop Speed Painting

Painting and Coating will breathe new life into your vessel. It will prevent damage to the hull and arrest the growth of marine organisms that attach to fiberglass and metal.  Barnacles, algae, seaweed and other marine organisms accumulate on hulls and eventually lead to surface drag, lower performance, decreased speeds, higher fuel costs and even damage to propellors and other underwater mechanics. 

Our painting and coating solutions include modified epoxies, ablative, thin-film, soft and vinyl.  Here is a rundown on the most popular options:

Marine Painting

When determining what paint/coating system is best for your vessel, the decision will come down to three elements: time, level of finish, and budget. 

Traditional one-part paint (alkyd enamel) applies right from the dispenser and evaporates quickly. It has good weatherproofing qualities, and the base can be modified for gloss, hardness, or longevity by using various additives. 

The two-part polyurethanes are formed by mixing components. That mix triggers a chemical reaction that forms the cure surface. When comparing the two processes, the two-part product dries quicker and offers a higher level of finish, a shinier gloss, color retention, hardness, longevity, chemical and abrasion resistance, and overall compound integrity. Consequently, the two-part process costs more and requires more time and labor.

Gelcoat Painting

A gel coat treatment is resin-based on often used on newly manufactured boats. Once applied, it dries into a hard, shell-like casing. Gel coating is designed to be UV protective and resistant to harsh chemicals. Since yacht hulls are often exposed to chemical vapors, this protection proves invaluable. A gel coat finish is durable and, when properly maintained, can last for decades without major repairs.

Ceramic Coating

Marine-grade ceramic coating is highly resistant to wear, scratching, and hull damage. The ceramic layer of protection protects paint and fiberglass. Ceramic coating protects at the molecular level with a comprehensive seal. Contaminants do not penetrate the surface, and any residue can be removed with a pH-neutral cleaner.

Bottom Painting

The bottom of a vessel, usually submerged in saltwater, is vulnerable to sea organisms, including acorn barnacles, zebra mussels, and microscopic bacteria that can cause hull drag, higher fuel costs and repair costs associated with the hull drag.

The correct yacht bottom painting treatment increases the longevity and performance of the vessel. The key ingredients in antifouling bottom paints include copper, biocides, algaecides, Teflon, vinyl, and proprietary two-part bottom coatings that create a hard, slippery biofilm that prevents organisms from attaching the hull.

One of the best ways to keep your props and other underwater metal in working order is by protecting them. One of the best ways is a professional application of Propspeed.

Propspeed uses a super slick “foul release” film that is safe for marine life. It is meant to last at least a year and keep running gear and any other underwater metals free of marine growth and protected against corrosion.

Vessels that sit in the water for extended periods have the greatest need for this type of protection. Our expert technicians can provide a professional application to protect your underwater metal.

Much a luxury car, your yacht boat needs regular detailing and maintenance work to keep it sparkling on the seas and humming along the waves. Detailing and maintenance include exterior boat detailing, washing, boat waxing, buffing, polishing, interior detailing, and monthly systems check.

Buffing & Waxing vs Polishing

There is an ongoing debate on buffing and waxing your yacht versus polishing it. Though similar, the processes are different. In the trade, professionals use polishing compounds, manual polishing, and rotary machines to buff out scratches. Most craftsmen use powerful buffing and polishing tools to remove blemishes, scuffs, oxidation, and other imperfections. Waxing usually follows the buffing process. Polishing a vessel restores the “good as new” finish. Using a high-gloss polish delivers a brilliant shine.

Additional Options

Other options include wet sanding and high-speed buffing to give your vessel a showroom look and erase oxidation stains and minor scratches on fiberglass and Gelcoat surfaces. While we are making the vessel’s exterior shine, we also inspect the vessel from top to bottom.

Established in 1927, the Manila Yacht Club and Marina is one of the oldest yacht clubs in all of Asia, and is nestled in the scenic Manila Bay. It is also near other well-known landmarks in the city, such as the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), the headquarters of the Philippine Navy, and the US Embassy. Facilities in the marina include a launching ramp and a fueling center, and the club itself is host to a restaurant and gorgeous function rooms. The Manila Yacht Club only welcomes visitors who arrive by boat, and it charges an initial security deposit of USD 750 upon arrival. Club membership is mandatory for medium and long-term mooring of boats.

Subic Bay Yacht Club, Zambales

The Subic Bay Yacht Club, which was founded in 1998, upholds itself as the country’s premier yacht club. It operates in the deepest bay in the country, and can host vessels well beyond 50 meters in length. Puerto Galera Yacht Club, Oriental Mindoro

Further south, yachtsmen may moor at the Puerto Galera Yacht Club in Oriental Mindoro, an island location that’s home to tourist attractions like the Sabang Wreck dive site, lively beachfront resorts, and the Malasimbo Music Festival. Puerto Galera Yacht Club has been in operation for almost thirty years and lends services such as refueling provisions and yacht repairs from its marina. Busuanga Yacht Club, Puerta del Sol Bay Marina, Palawan

The space is quite roomy, in fact, with 56 berths that can fit vessels up to 15 meters in length. The club also has a boat ramp that can accommodate boats up to 18 meters in length.
